08/02 AAA TV Lineup (DF)

AAA TV (FRI) 08/02/2013 Gimnasio Juan De La Barrera
1) Faby Apache, Octagoncito, Pimpinela Escarlata vs Mamba, Mini Abismo Negro, Taya Valkyrie
2) Flamita, Lucky Boy, Niño de Ébano vs Carta Brava Jr., Eterno, Steve Pain
3) Alan Stone, El Elegido, Toscano vs Cuervo, Escoria, Ozz
4) Crazy Boy & Joe Lider vs Daga & Psicosis [AAA TAG]
first defense for the Mexican Powers
5) Electroshock, Fénix, Jack Evans vs Chessman, Parka Negra, Texano Jr.
6) Cibernético vs el Hijo del Perro Aguayo

Published in Box Y Lucha (and I’m guessing the other magazines), posted to Twitter by @blackterry. They’ve not mentioned if it’s supposed to be Sin Limite or what, but I think we can safely assume the Evolucion/Fusion split is a dead issue for now.

Air Date: 08/10? This is far in the future. May be a two taping show.

Despite the best efforts of Hijo del Santo on Twitter, AAA is still running this show. It’s their first show back in DF since TripleMania, and it might as well be the first show after TripleMania since they’re largely just picking up there. Cibernetico vs Perro, again. Mexican Powers face the Perros del Mal to continue their never ending feuding from the five way match.

I guess Chessman and Texano are friends now? The semimain seems like we’re missing something. It could be good, and the segunda should be good. Weird to see Fabi Apache working an opener behind Flamita and Maxima Velocidad. Mirreyes vs Secta should be fine for the Mirreyes.

Looking forward to predictable counter booking by CMLL! There’s dual AAA TV tapings and CMLL Friday night shows on 07/19 & 08/02, then the Panther anniversary show on 08/16. CMLL just needs to schedule something on 08/30 to keep the trend of things happening every two weeks.

Vangelis wins En Busca de un Idolo, Guerrero Maya vs Black Terry

CMLL (FRI) 07/12/2013 Arena Mexico [CMLL]
1) Eléctrico & Último Dragoncito b Pequeño Olímpico & Pierrothito
Tecnicos took 1/3
2) Namajague, Puma, Shigeo Okumura b Diamante, Sagrado, Tritón
Rudos took 2/3.
3) Diamante Azul, La Máscara, Shocker b Dragón Rojo Jr., Ephesto, Mephisto
Tecnicos took 1/3.
4) Averno, Negro Casas, Rey Escorpión b Blue Panther, Rush, Super Porky
Straight brawl and straight falls. Negro got in a foul on Rush in the end. Lots of post match talking and fighting to set up next week.
5) Vangelis b Valiente [En Busca de un Idolo, final]
Vangelis won a 10+ minute match, surviving two Valiente Busters and escaping a Valiente casita to put on his own – with some help from Virus. Valiente was livid post match, had to be held back by Fuego and Stuka (there to get 4th/3rd place trophies) as well as Negro Casas, and refused to accept his second place trophy. Vangelis, who had a rooting section, decided the win to the rudos.
6) Atlantis, Máscara Dorada, Mistico b Euforia, Gran Guerrero, Último Guerrero
Tecnicos took 1/3.

En Busca de un Idolo’s results page says “the tournament has changed the way you look at Mexican wrestling.” Matches happens, they’re never mentioned again, seems like the same lucha libre. Maybe I missed something! It seemed like Valiente vs Virus was going somewhere, but Misterioso vs the Judges has not. Still, Vangelis ought to find himself a trio just to be sure.

Diamante, Triton, and Sagrado versus Puma, Arkangel and Skandalo has been added to next week’s card as the opener.

AAA interviews Chessman before his tag match Monday on the Puebla TV taping. Chessman hates Jack Evans and Angelico for being male models. It’s not quite dancers, but it’s close enough to annoy Chessman. “The girls shout in excitement for them, but I will make them scream in horror.” Chessman likes Eterno, thinks he’s got a future in lucha libre, and just needs to get with the right people (rudos.) KrisZ says Black Killer & Dracul Jr. vs Blaze & Principe Azul has been added as the dark match.

Rob has highlights of 06/11/13 CMLL.

Porra Fresa previews Monday’s card, is angry at people trying to give away finishes. (Wait, is he mad at me? oh no.)

Hijo del Santo says he won’t be in Denver on a show tonight for a card promoted with him and LA Park.

ChilangaMask announced Guerrero Maya Jr. vs Black Terry for their next show. Hooray!

Principe Orion says he’s going to learn in DTU and use the knowledge to make it to the WWE.

Estrellas del Ring has the third part of it’s trip to the lucha libre exhibit at Museo de Noreste.

Arena Mexico is taken over for a Golden Gloves tournament today.

Challenges to build up a Brazo Jr. vs ATM match.

Anime debuts in Arena Aficion this Sunday.

Cronicas y Leyendas looks back at Texano winning the UWA LH title in 1992.

CMLL Anniversary set for 09/13, Hijos del Texano defeat Dinamic Black, Busca final, AAA time change

IWRG (THU) 07/11/2013 Arena Naucalpan [IWRG, The Gladiatores]
1) Sky Ángel b Dragón Celestial
One fall.
2) Alan Extreme & Saruman b Fulgor I & Fulgore II
Alan Extreme replaced Seiya. Good match.
3) Black Terry, Chico Che, Golden Magic b Canis Lupus, El Imposible, Picudo Jr.
Golden Magic feuded with Impossible and wants a shot at his new IWRG IC Lightweight championship
4) Apolo Estrada Jr., Eterno, X-Fly b Emo Extreme, Extreme Tiger, Toscano
Rudos took 1/3. Eterno snuck in a foul on Toscano for the win.
5) Súper Nova b Dinamic Black [NWA OLD LH]
Texano Jr. appeared as his brother (Super Nova)’s second. Toscano was Dinamick Black’s second. Super Nova got the pin in the first. Dinamic Black hit Super Nova with three straight dives (including an over the top tornillo) and Super Nova was counted on in the second. Texano and Toscano got involved in the third fall. Texano hit Dinamic Black in the head with an object, and Super Nova gave Dinamic Black a piledriver? for the win. Dinamic Black was strechered out. First (???) defense for Super Nova.

CMLL Gaceta announced CMLL’s Anniversary show will be September 13th. There had been talk as recently as yesterday that it would be 09/20, but instead they’ll be running the night before the Canelo Alvarez vs Floyd Mayweather boxing fight. Weirdly, the article confirming the date avoids confirming Atlantis vs Ultimo Guerrero mask match as the main event. There’s a 99.999999999999% chance it’s happening on that date.

Tonight’s CMLL show is highlighted by Valiente versus Vangelis for the 2013 En Busca de un Idolo championship. Valiente still appears to be the favorite, but it’s likely Vangelis will end up in a better position than he was at the start of the tournament. It worked out for Euforia and many of the other non-winners last year and it should work out him as well. Valiente and Vangelis should have a good match as long as they’re allowed time.

There’s also more build to cage hair match, with six of the particpants in one trios match and Shocker in another match. The trios match should continue to push Panther vs Averno and Rush vs Negro Casas, neither of which are really expected to resolve in the cage. The first two matches look good, including the two minis champions (Pequeno Olimpico & Pierrothito) against two guys who should be getting title shots (Electrico & Ultimo Dragoncito.) The maine event is another Atlantis & Guadalajara friends versus Guerreros match.

AAA is moved to 5pm this Saturday.  Or maybe a little later. I am assuming Galavision Mexico is airing Cuba vs the United States, which is right in the middle. That may mean CMLL gets cut off early (soccer broadcasts frequently start 5 minutes before the top of the hour) and AAA starts late.

AAA’s announced Crazy Boy, Joe Lider, Fenix, Texano Jr., Cibernetico and Perro Aguayo Jr. will be on the Gimnasio Juan de la Barrera show on 08/02. It reads like this is the first important show post-TripleMania. Full lineup next week.

FMLL will run a tribute show to Rocky Roman next weekend.

Estrellas del Ring continues their trip thru the lucha libre exhibit in Museo del Noreste.

Saturday’s Gimnasio del Valle show will have wrestlers from that Pachuca, Hidalgo school against those from a Mexico State lucha school.

Mistico & Sombra vs Volador & Averno headline Arena Quereatro on 07/31

Traumas are part of NGX Monterrey’s Summer in Hell show next weekend, and Ensenada in August.

Lucha Libre In Japan

NOAH held a press conference to introduce the teams for it’s GHC Junior Tag Team tournament. That’s the one with Los Mexitosos, Kaiser & Gaston Mateo from South America, Tiger Mask IV and CMLL Tag Team Champion Jushin Liger, and Pesadilla & the unknown Dual Force. NOAH revealed info on Dual Force, billing him as the Ronin who feuded with Sugi in AAA and elsewhere. The thing is, the person everyone believed was Ronin is wrestling for another promotion the same day as Dual Force, and the signature moves of Dual Force are a lot more crazy high flying than Ronin was known for. Puroresu Spirit theorizes this is actually the return of Sugi himself, who’s been out of wrestling since he tried to frame Nosawa for a drug crime last year.

07/13-14 lucha times

box.

TxT is off (until 08/03, as best I can figure.) AAA *might* actually have some new content.

== AAA ==

AAA-Televisa: Probably an hour early (3pm CT) but AAA hasn’t said anything. Finally, the Leon taping? This would be the month old taping from Leon. All the results will be a surprise because you’ve largely forgotten what happened on that taping by now. I assuming it’s now a 1 taping show, with a random amount of matches to air on UTDN

AAA-Fusion: Maybe other Leon tapings here? TVC Deportes didn’t air a rerun of AAA Fusion this past week, so who knows what’s going on here. I don’t think this show has been canceled, but I guess even that’s possible.

== CMLL ==

Galavision/Televisa: Moved up to 2pm – which means this show and Fox Sports run against each other. Ooops. This has the cibernetico to set up the cage match.

FOX: Guerreros vs Atlantis/Mistico/Titan & women. The repeat is on at 7pm, which runs against C3. The repeat of that looks to be Sunday at 8pm. I can’t remember that’s on at that time.

52MX: Estetas del Aire vs Ephesto, Mephisto, Volador Jr.

C3: Averno vs Titan

TVC Deportes (Puebla): If they pick up with the next episode in line, it’s the Estetas del Aire vs Hijos del Avernos trios title match.

Terra: Arena Coliseo Tag Team Championship battle! Other matches!

== Other ==

IWRG-AYM Sports: Familia de Tijuana vs Traumas, if it airs.

Noches de Coliseo: Maybe the WWL show? Maybe something completely random?
