IWRG (THU) 07/11/2013 Arena Naucalpan [IWRG, The Gladiatores]
1) Sky Ángel b Dragón Celestial
One fall.
2) Alan Extreme & Saruman b Fulgor I & Fulgore II
Alan Extreme replaced Seiya. Good match.
3) Black Terry, Chico Che, Golden Magic b Canis Lupus, El Imposible, Picudo Jr.
Golden Magic feuded with Impossible and wants a shot at his new IWRG IC Lightweight championship
4) Apolo Estrada Jr., Eterno, X-Fly b Emo Extreme, Extreme Tiger, Toscano
Rudos took 1/3. Eterno snuck in a foul on Toscano for the win.
5) Súper Nova b Dinamic Black [NWA OLD LH]
Texano Jr. appeared as his brother (Super Nova)’s second. Toscano was Dinamick Black’s second. Super Nova got the pin in the first. Dinamic Black hit Super Nova with three straight dives (including an over the top tornillo) and Super Nova was counted on in the second. Texano and Toscano got involved in the third fall. Texano hit Dinamic Black in the head with an object, and Super Nova gave Dinamic Black a piledriver? for the win. Dinamic Black was strechered out. First (???) defense for Super Nova.
CMLL Gaceta announced CMLL’s Anniversary show will be September 13th. There had been talk as recently as yesterday that it would be 09/20, but instead they’ll be running the night before the Canelo Alvarez vs Floyd Mayweather boxing fight. Weirdly, the article confirming the date avoids confirming Atlantis vs Ultimo Guerrero mask match as the main event. There’s a 99.999999999999% chance it’s happening on that date.
Tonight’s CMLL show is highlighted by Valiente versus Vangelis for the 2013 En Busca de un Idolo championship. Valiente still appears to be the favorite, but it’s likely Vangelis will end up in a better position than he was at the start of the tournament. It worked out for Euforia and many of the other non-winners last year and it should work out him as well. Valiente and Vangelis should have a good match as long as they’re allowed time.
There’s also more build to cage hair match, with six of the particpants in one trios match and Shocker in another match. The trios match should continue to push Panther vs Averno and Rush vs Negro Casas, neither of which are really expected to resolve in the cage. The first two matches look good, including the two minis champions (Pequeno Olimpico & Pierrothito) against two guys who should be getting title shots (Electrico & Ultimo Dragoncito.) The maine event is another Atlantis & Guadalajara friends versus Guerreros match.
AAA is moved to 5pm this Saturday. Or maybe a little later. I am assuming Galavision Mexico is airing Cuba vs the United States, which is right in the middle. That may mean CMLL gets cut off early (soccer broadcasts frequently start 5 minutes before the top of the hour) and AAA starts late.
AAA’s announced Crazy Boy, Joe Lider, Fenix, Texano Jr., Cibernetico and Perro Aguayo Jr. will be on the Gimnasio Juan de la Barrera show on 08/02. It reads like this is the first important show post-TripleMania. Full lineup next week.
FMLL will run a tribute show to Rocky Roman next weekend.
Estrellas del Ring continues their trip thru the lucha libre exhibit in Museo del Noreste.
Saturday’s Gimnasio del Valle show will have wrestlers from that Pachuca, Hidalgo school against those from a Mexico State lucha school.
Mistico & Sombra vs Volador & Averno headline Arena Quereatro on 07/31
Traumas are part of NGX Monterrey’s Summer in Hell show next weekend, and Ensenada in August.

NOAH held a press conference to introduce the teams for it’s GHC Junior Tag Team tournament. That’s the one with Los Mexitosos, Kaiser & Gaston Mateo from South America, Tiger Mask IV and CMLL Tag Team Champion Jushin Liger, and Pesadilla & the unknown Dual Force. NOAH revealed info on Dual Force, billing him as the Ronin who feuded with Sugi in AAA and elsewhere. The thing is, the person everyone believed was Ronin is wrestling for another promotion the same day as Dual Force, and the signature moves of Dual Force are a lot more crazy high flying than Ronin was known for. Puroresu Spirit theorizes this is actually the return of Sugi himself, who’s been out of wrestling since he tried to frame Nosawa for a drug crime last year.
