Mr. Trueno & Rey Trueno vs Puma King & Tiger Kid: The previous version was a bit smoother but this was still a lot of fun. It’s still the old villians schooling the young punks
Delta, Metal Blanco, Stuka Jr. vs Shigeo Okumura, Virus, Yoshihashi: Good! Virus didn’t look like he was going to hurt Yoshihashi during this match, always a positive sign. Stuka and Virus are good against each other. Metal Blanco was good here too.
Rush & Super Porky vs Héctor Garza & Volador Jr.: The least of the three matches, an anti-climatic finish to the show. Everyone’s slamming Porky now (though it did almost kill Volador.)
IWRG (SUN) 03/13/2011 Arena Naucalpan [Estrellas del Ring, The Gladiatores, MT, Al Filo del Ring]
1) Alan Extreme b Keshin Black straight falls
2) Dinamic Black & Golden Magic b Epidemia & Imposible
3) Eterno, Mari Apache, Mascarita Divina b Carta Brava Jr., Mini Charly Manson, Sexy Star
4) Hijo de LA Park, Multifacético, Trauma I b Comando Negro, Hammer, Hijo de Pirata Morgan Multifeactico and Comando ripped each other’s masks, and Comando Negro bled a lot. Pirata and Trauma mask got ripped up too. Pirata/Trauma and Multi/Comando set up matches for next week. Hijo de Park wants the winner of the first match.
5) Pantera, Rayo de Jalisco Jr., Scorpio Jr. DQ Canek, Enrique Vera, Head Hunter I billed as EMLL vs LLI. After split falls, Pantera went to foul Canek, Canek blocked it and caused him to foul Rayo. Ref turned around, saw Rayo selling a foul, and DQed Canek. There’s a reason there is no more LLI.
CMLL (MON) 03/14/2011 Arena Puebla [SporTimes (3), SporTimes (1,2,4,5), Cinco Radio, El Sol de Puebla]
1) Blue Center, Lestat, Stigma b Ares, Centauro de Fuego, Fuerza Chicana
2) Amapola, Tiffany, Zeuxis b Dalys la Caribeña, Goya Kong, Luna Mágica
3) Loco Max b Escorpion [hair] Crowd was totally behind Loco Max. Loco had Centella de Oro (who lost to Loco last year) in his corner, Escorpion had King Jaguar. Loco won the first fall with an armbar, Escorpion won the second. After a lot of near falls, Loco won with a crucifix. Escorpion threatened to walk out, claiming El Maya was slow counting him, but Loco and the fans cajoled him to come back. Escorpion said he was a man and a professional, so he’ll drop his hair, but he still feels he’s better than Loco Max and everyone in Puebla.
4) Terrible, Texano, Volador Jr. b La Máscara, Máximo, Super Porky Rudos took falls two and three.
5) La Sombra b Psicosis Sombra took 2 and 3, with a spanish fly for the win.
Black Terry Jr. has video of Wizard vs Ztizan from Coliseo Coalaco (part 1, part 2, part 3), Black Terry & Negro Navarro vs Ultraman Jr., Solar I from Coalaco (part 2, part 3) and Arena Azteca and part 2. I think part 3 is not up yet, but you can read the (usual) finish at R de Rudo.
Shane Helms was arrested cited for a bar fight Sunday. He’s supposed to be on this week’s Lucha Libre USA taping, and probably will still be.
Toscano was wrestling in Guatemala this Sunday. (Of course, CMLL’s listings say he was wrestling in Arena Popo in Mexico State this Sunday. A rough double header!)
CMLL FULL (SUN) 03/20/2011 Arena Coliseo Monterrey
1) El Rudo & Goliat vs Aguila Azteca & Chamaco Gurrola
2) Demenzia, Medico Infernal, Panthro Jr. vs Gemelo Muerte I, Gemelo Muerte II, Sicario
3) ABC, Corazon Adicto, Rey Imagen vs Jesse el Elegante, Sombra Chicana, Titanik
4) Tiffany vs Princesa Sujei [lightning]
5) Estrella Dorada, Hijo del Ninja, Silencio vs Diluvio Negro II, Mongol Chino Jr., Veneno Extremo [Relevos Increíbles]
6) Ángel de Oro, Rush, Spartaco vs Euforia (Monterrey), Nitro, Último Guerrero
No CMLL lineups for Sunday elsewhere yet, but some people will be heading north. Actually not sure which Euforia that is in the main event. Tiffany/Sujei is a battle of hometown heroes.
Astro Boy & Bengala vs Apocalipsis & Bronco: Astro Boy seemed half speed, but still spectacular, if that makes any sense. My new theory on Bronco is he’s Mogawi in the jungle book, raised by wolves and completely unaware that he’s a six foot luchador who should spend more time kicking people in the face than doing flying cross bodies. One day (the day AAA and CMLL interact), he will discover there are other tall people out there just like him, and they’re able to chokeslam people and it’ll change his life forever.
Ángel Azteca Jr., Ángel de Oro, Ángel de Plata vs Cancerbero, Raziel, Virus: The match where the Angels prove they haven’t broken up! (They haven’t teamed up since, oops.) Nice bit of insane dives to wrap this one up. I would say Plata doing the SSP to the floor every time is going to come back to hurt him, but it already did. He was good with Raziel to start the fall anyway.
He’s also got the AAA show complete in one YouTube upload. Still have quite a few things up on DailyMotion that I need to post, but I think I’m moving over there if I can go over 15 minutes too.
