• Edge (T dot O, 241 pounds) vs WWE Tag Team Champion Charlie Haas (213 pounds, w/Paul Heyman)
  • Yet again, there's a crane and a box.
    • And again, it's addressed to Undertaker, from Heyman and Show.
  • Charlie his hometown. And maybe some weight.
  • This is a rematch from five weeks ago, which Haas won due to Kurt Angle help.
  • Shelton is in the back getting ready for a match vs Eddie Guerrero.
  • Lockup to start, with Edge powering but Haas turning around. Clean break is forced.
  • Lockup #2, with Haas getting a fireman's carry and an armbar.
  • Edge standing up out of it, shoots Haas into the ropes but takes a shoulderblock.
  • Haas off the ropes, over, into the back elbow. Armdrag, drop toe hold, armbar of his own.
  • Haas manages to push Edge into the corner, and beats him down.
  • Choke on the ropes/weekly look at Russ on the wristbands.
  • Whip, clothesline. Haas pauses to look at the booing crowd.
  • Whip, reversed, wheel kick by Edge.
  • Running corner shoulder by Edge.
  • Corner whip, charge, Haas moves and pulls Korderas in the way, Edge stops just in time, but turns into the Exploder one two no.
    • I thought that might be his finisher but it was way too soon.
  • Another cover, another two.
  • Kurt is watching in the back.
  • Corner whip, overhead belly to belly suplex one two no.
  • Haas works over Edge's back, then hits a Northern Lights Suplex one two no.
  • Surfboard.
    • Kurt is still watching from the locker room.
    • Nice and relaxed.
  • Edge standing up and turning it - knees and back elbows out, but pulled down by his hair.
  • Stomping.
  • Back suplex, but Edge learned how to land on his feet on that from Rey.
  • Back suplex of his own works.
  • Both slow up, but Edge rallying with punches.
  • Overdone enziguri.
  • Whip, reversed, Edge jumping forearm. Clothesline.
  • Whip, backdrop with Haas not smoothly getting over but the move going okay anyway.
  • Whip, reversed, reversed into the Edge-O-Matic. One two NO.
  • Kick Edge-no, Haas uses a reverse Russian legsweep cradle! for one two NO.
  • Edge up, right misses, Charlie with a waistlock, Edge with a bodyscissors cradle one two NO.
  • Haas stops Edge with an axhandle and slows it down with some stomps.
  • Corner whip, rebound clothesline (I guess - not seen that from him before) meets flapjack.
  • Edge sets up for the Spear - but Heyman is on the apron.
  • Edge grabs Heyman, Haas charges Edge, Edge side steps and backs up quick, Haas stops short of Heyman, Edge goes for the SPear and gets only Heyman.
  • Haas with the reverse roll up one two three! (5:22)
  • Did he get tights? Not sure.
    • Even with the Heyman distraction, that's a big upset, though a tight pull would mitigate it
    • The announcers sell it as big, but in the same "Nunzio beating Funaki was a big win!" tone
    • The fans were kinda shocked.
    • Replay shows Haas making a motion like he was pulling the tights, but apparently the director doesn't care too much because we pull away without ever seeing it.
  • I liked the last match with a screwjob finish better than this one, honestly.
• Cole and Tazz hype Nathan Jones will be SmackDown! exclusive.
  • An exclusive interview with him next week, so he won't in-ring debut till after the PPV.
  • This is followed by another promo.

• Backstage, Kurt Angle is hanging out in the GM office.
  • His relaxation is broken up by Stephanie bursting in.
    • I swear to God, she looks like a non-muscular Chyna (post-surgery) bits here.
    • It's not too flattering. Something is up with her.
  • Kurt gives Stephanie a rose.
  • Stephanie wants to talk about a match.
  • Kurt points out that they are a perfect match - and as he leans in for the kiss..
    • Steph is surprised here, and not in a thrilled way
  • Brock busts open the door to interrupt.
  • Kurt and Brock have a stare down.
  • Steph says at NWO, it's going to be Team Angle vs Edge, Chris Benoit and Brock Lesnar.
  • Angle is not thrilled.
  • Brock is annoying, but looking forward to it.
  • Also, he's looking forward to his match vs Cena. Kurt's invited to watch.
  • Kurt takes back the rose.
• Rikishi (no introduction?) vs Nunzio (already in the ring)
  • For a second week, Rikishi finds him staring at a box as he walks to the ring
  • We go back to last week and Nunzio's threat.
  • Nunzio has bought himself an Alex Wright jacket between this week and last.
  • Nunzio attempt to show this off by going for a pescado, but Rikishi catches him and drops him.
  • Right hands on the floor by Rikishi.
  • Before they even get in the ring, Rikishi is ambushed.
  • Nunzio's family apparently is Johnny "the Bull" Stamboli and Chuck Palumbo.
  • Johnny hits a forearm, and Chuck hits the Jungle Kick to level him.
    • There's actually some backstory to a Chuck/Nunzio teaming, as they had an odd postmatch handshake on the 02/01 Velocity
    • Last time we saw Johnny on Heat was 12/08/02
    • I wonder if Eric realizes all the people Stephanie is stealing from him.
    • I wonder if Eric realizes there is a WWE Heat
    • I wonder what Jamie Noble and Nidia think of all this.
    • I wonder what Billy thinks of all this.
    • I wonder what Sean O'Haire thinks of all this.
    • Actually, I don't.
  • They beat Rikishi down and hold him for Nunzio to taunt.
  • Nunzio explains to Rikishi that we're supposed to call them "the Family" and not "the FBI"
    • It's great that they have a vast amount of original ideas on how to use Nunzio.
  • Rikishi tries to fight back with a head butt, and gets hurt more.
  • Nunzio gives him the Kiss of Death.
    • Cole has never seen the Kiss of Death.
  • This wasn't really a match.

• Rock/Hogan recap
  • They'll both be in the building next week.
• Rey Mysterio Jr. (San Diego, CA, 175 pounds) vs Matt Hardy (Version One, Cameron, NC, 230 pounds)

  	Matt Fact: Matt always gets more valentines than his brother. He doesn't send flowers, and only gives chocolate. Well, that just ruined the surprise for Lita.
  	Hey (according to Chimel), he's lost 4 pounds! Still a ways to go.
  	Oh, wait - Matt corrects Chimel, it's 222 pounds. Only 7 to go in my world, 2 in his. Surprisingly, he looks not at all different! It's almost like - nah, I dare not suggest it. We're ignoring that he's been announced as 234 and pretending it was always 230 for some reason.
  	We go back to last week to see Kidman cheat and beat Matt. He did. Trust me!
  	Matt is wearing a rubber suit under his shirt to wear weight.
  	Tazz stumbles on "centrifugal force" It doesn't matter how he we got there.
  	Circle, lockup, Matt throws down Rey and mocks him with jumping jacks. Pose!
  	Rey's no Version one.
  	Lockup, Rey slips behind and sneaks in a back heel trip into a side headlock on the mat. Cole says, based on the upset from last week, Matt Hardy gets a title shot at No Way Out So the key is to lose to Billy Kidman to get a title shot - interesting! This is only if Matt can lose the weight.
  	Matt tries to power out of the headlock but Rey keeps the headlock on.
  	Matt finally shoots him in the ropes, over, under, into a right hand.
  	Corner whip, charge into a boot.
  	Rey with the overhead headscissor and a dropkick to knock Matt to the lfoor.
  	Off the ropes, 619 to the floor is ducked, Matt pulsl out Rey but gets kicked down.
  	Rey points, pescado but no one's home.
  	Matt rolls in and distracts the ref so Shannon can stomp. Tazz calls Matt "the sensei of Mattitude"
  	Shannon helpfully points Rey on the apron before backing away.
  	Matt with a suplex in, into a gutbuster on the top rope.
  	Matt uses Shannon's towel to clean the swear from his face, and gets to stomping.
  	Right hands in the corner.
  	Gutwrench suplex one two NO.
  	Cole and Tazz comedy! Cole: "You ever have to get in one of those rubber suits and lose some weight?" Tazz: "No, I just take Stacker 2 and eat a bunch of, uh, macaroni."
  	Rey gets whipped into the corner chest first, and bounces into the Ricochet.
  	Surfboard with a foot instead of a boot. Matt all about the back work.
  	Cole says Matt has 2 more pounds to go, so I guess we've defined the weight limit at 220. Maybe it's because I'm fixed on the 215 pounds, but they really aren't point out the weight limit enough. You could do the math in your head, but they haven't once said "the Cruiserweight Limit is 220"
  	Rey turns it around and is punching back.
  	Matt stops it with clubbing blows.
  	TORTURE RACK! Announcers settled on "backbreaker" Matt knows back damage.
  	Rey fights out - bulldog!
  	Both are down - Matt is exhausted.
  	Right hands are missed, but not Rey's.
  	Corner whip, reveres, Rey goes to the apron and gets a shoulder to the midsection.
  	Springboard Thesz Press!
  	Rey with a right, corner whip, reversed, Rey stops short, Matt charges in and goes shoulder first into the post. The only part of his body not covered by that rubber suit - is that shoulder, where he cut it out to look cool.
  	Rey goes up - twist, rope flip moonsault one two NO!
  	Whip, reversed, both go for the quick kick but it's Rey who hits it, right, springboard but it's caught - Side Effect! One two NO!
  	Matt is fatigued but seems like he wants to get for the Twist of Fate.
  	Rey has no problems escaping, whip, Matt goes over, then clips Rey while going under (accident)
  	Matt grabs the ropes, and pauses just long enough that Rey can pop up and for a 'rana
  	Matt blocks it and tries to do something, but Matt is exhausted and Rey flips out.
  	Matt collapses to his knees - and leans on the middle rope. Uh oh. Shannon fanning him is not helping.
  	619! Shannon throws a fit! West Coast Pop one two three (6:03)
  	This was better than when it was Disco Inferno vs Billy Kidman.
  	Matt manages to stumble to the announcer's desk. Rey might have beat him, but he wasn't at full strength so it doesn't count. He'll drop two more pounds, make the weight, and beat Billy Kidman for the title. I believe him!

• We move on to Brain talking to Sean O'Haire
  • Sean is happy with what last week's romp.
  • Brian isn't really happy with how that went, considering the trouble he got into.
  • Why is Bill DeMott here?
  • To throw Brian into lockers for no particular reason.
  • Sean is over to - stare at him. And tell Bill that he's had enough.
  • Catch phrase. So what, he's a face? I'm confused.
  • Announcers notice O'Haire this week.
  • I guess the mask storyline is dead?
• Chris Benoit (229 pounds, Edmonton, AB) vs A-Train (Boston, MA, 350 pounds)
  • Clips of last week
    • Benoit was busted open when Angle headbutted him while trying for the running superplex.
  • Lockup, A-Train pushes Benoit into the corner.
  • "You ain't nothing! You ain't nothing boy!"
  • Benoit pushes him away after the clean break.
  • Lockup again, A-Train again over powers him, right is ducked, chop, chop, chop, chop but no effect on A-Train.
  • Chris switches to a punch, and gets shoved down.
  • Both charge, and A-Train hits the back elbow.
  • Thrown in the corner, forearm to the back.
  • Tazz almost starts doing CRZ's Big Show routine here.
  • Corner whip, choo choo corner clothesline.
  • Corner whip, clothesline caught - Crossface! But A-Train grabs the ropes.
  • Chris with stomps, but A-Train is back up and stopping him with a knee.
  • Short clothesline is ducked and Benoit goes for the Crossface gain, but A-Train gets the ropes before it can be hooked.
  • Benoit tries kicking but A-Train isn't feeling it - scoop, side backbreaker.
  • A-Train works the life back into his left shoulder. Side backbreaker again.
  • Elbow drop to the back. One more.
  • Push into the ropes, forearm to the back.
  • Short clothesline works this time.
  • Talking trash to Benoit, and slapping him.
  • Corner whip, Chris goes in chest first, and picking him up, back to back, for a submission.
    • Tazz calls it an inverted full nelson, while admitting he's never seen something like that before.
    • Me neither. It's kinda like a crucifix hold, but the arms are bent in like a full nelson.
    • Benoit won't give up, but he's in pain.
  • A-Train drops to his knees, Train Wreck style, but doesn't go for a pin.
  • Slam, going for that second rope splash - and it hits! one two NO!
    • A-Train isn't happy with the count.
  • A-Train pulls out a Torture Rack!
    • Tazz: "Shades of Antonio Rocca - remember him?"
    • Tazz disputes Cole's claim that he does remember him.
  • Benoit uses forearms to the head to get free, but A-Train picks him up again
  • Benoit keeps going though, taking a sunset flip one to no.
  • A-Train on him with the mounted clubbing blows.
    • Tazz: "You know, Benoit's from Canada - I'm sure he's had fights as a kid with polar bears."
    • Cole: "What are you talking about?"
    • You know, it's sometimes weird how Tazz and Cole morph into Kornheiser and Wilbon. Or vice versa
  • A-Train tries the choo choo corner splash but Benoit moves
  • German suplex! German suplex! German suplex!
    • A-Train most obviously jumps the most on the last one.
  • Benoit up, checking the scene, and decides it's time for the thumb.
  • Swandive Headbutt MISSES, no one home.
    • Cole: "And remember the injured eye!"
  • Scissors kick connects one two no.
    • "TWO? TWO? THAT WAS THREE?"
  • Signaling for the Derailer - double choke lift reversed into the Crossface!
    • A-Train's in trouble but he's still moving
    • Benoit's manages to scissor the near arm with his legs, which pauses him for a moment
    • A-Train keeps moving but he's got a long way to go
    • TAPOUT!
  • Benoit wins (6:51)
  • Benoit waits a good ten seconds to let go
    • Tazz pushes it as frustration over not being champion.
  • Here's a replay of the finish.
  • A-Train got a lot of offense here, so they didn't appear to be giving up on him.
• Backstage, Torrie Wilson meets some guy.
  • This whole bit is almost redeemed for this exchange
    • Guy: "Joe Francis-"
    • Torrie: "Girls Gone Wild - I love that stuff."
  • Anyway, she's going to be on their PPV.
    • They have PPVs? Why?
  • I don't know why I would care.
    • They tease that Torrie could go crazy and get naked on the PPV, but I bet no.

"blah blah on the records you're poison." "Poison?" "[¯¯] Pooo-ison" is the first time I've laughed at a UPN commercial.

• Package back in the ring
  • Package lifted back in the ring.
  • We look back at the attack on Undertaker one more time.
  • I sure hope this crane is cheap
    • Maybe it's what they use to set up some of these things anyway?
  • Paul is talking. Mostly recapping.
  • Paul says tonight requires a bit of culture, and then gets cut off by Taker's music.
  • Paul returns the Undertaker salute, that's actually funny.
  • This week, we actually see Paul take off, up the stage as Taker drives down.
  • Instead of going after Paul, Undertaker opts to go in the ring pose.
  • Thank god Paul left the mic in the ring.
  • Undertaker takes his time opening it.
  • Someone misses their cue and starts singing before it's opened.
  • Undertaker looks inside and isn't pleased.
  • It's, um, Kanyon dressed as Boy George singing "Do You Really Want To Hurt Me" by Culture Club
    • Also with the usual Kanyon accent.
    • Kanyon modifies the lyrics to apologize for the Big Show
  • Undertaker turns to look at Paul and gets jumped from behind - forearms, stomping!
  • Announcers haven't put together who it is
    • Tazz: "Boy George doesn't throw a punch like that!"
    • Personally, I'd recognize Kanyon even if he dressed like a member of Men At Work
  • Right hands and stomping in the corner.
  • Kanyon takes off the hat and wig, which probably is enough for them to figure out
  • Unfortunately, Taker blocks their view by pummeling Kanyon.
  • Right hands and stomps in the corner go the other way now.
  • Thrown out of the ring.
  • Taker comes out after him, setting him on the announce desk. Right hands a plenty.
  • Kanyon thrown into the Timekeepers Table.
  • Tazz: "Karma-karma-karma-karma-karma chameleon"
  • Anyway, Undertaker with chairs to the gut.
  • Paul is standing agape on the stage.
  • Undertaker pulls Kanyon around the ring by his hair so Paul can get a clear view.
  • Undertaker sets up Kanyon and the chair - big shot to his back.
  • Taker asks if Paul wants some. He does not.
  • Hard chair shot to the back.
  • "Now I'm pissed off!"
  • "He's a human being! He's a human being!"

  • Scary chair shot to the head.
    • He might have got his far side arm up to block the blow but it sure didn't look that way.
  • Paul runs off.
  • Taker music plays.

• In a weight room, Matt is bicycling the weight off.
  • Shannon roots him on - 2 more pounds t go.
  • 2 pounds! 2 pounds!
• Elsewhere, SmackDown #1 Announcer Funaki catches up to John Cena
  • Funaki says he speaks his language!
  • Shirt untucked, baseball cap (SmackDown!) to the side
  • Cena is all "no you didn't"
  • Funaki has a script!
  • "What up [look] Dawg"
  • Cena asks him to rethink what he's doing, makes a dog eating joke, and promises to beat Brock.
  • Hat knocked off and he goes to leave. "Word, life."

• Eddie Guerrero (228 pounds, El Paso, TX) vs WWE Tag Team Champion Shelton Benjamin (242 pounds, w/Charlie Haas)
  • Where's the commercial break? This is a long segment before this match starts
  • Chavo has the flu, we're told.
    • Tazz: "He's got the runs."
  • Shelton opts to do this on his own.
  • Ah, break before the match.

• Match is just starting at we return.
• Eddie with a headlock, Shelton battles out and gets a wristlock.
• Shelton with a snap mare, but Edie lands on his feet, off the ropes, shoulderblock.
• Eddie off the ropes, over (with a roll)< kick, snap mare one no.
• Shelton with a leg trip for zero.
• Armdrag, powerslam one no.
• Armbar. To their feet.
• Eddie with a back suplex to escape.
• Kicks and rights.
• Snap mare, legscissors sleeper.
• Shelton gets to the ropes but Eddie won't let go.
• So Shelton stands him up - electric chair suplex. One two no.
• Surfboard chinlock.
• Eddie rallies the crowd but is in for a while.
• Eddie with elbows to get up, right hands.
• Whip, Eddie drops down, Shelton goes over, Eddie up with a jumping back elbow.
• Hilo connects one two no.
• Whip, reversed, big Shelton backdrop.
• Knee to the midsection, then a neck yanking side back breaker one two no.
• Corner whip, Shelton charges in but Eddie ducks and catches him.
• Eddie with a spinning belly to belly suplex!
• Both men are down, but Eddie goes to the apron. Replay of the suplex.
• Eddie going all the way up - but sees Haas coming and knocks him down with a plancha!
• Shelton meets Eddie on the apron - right is blocked, and Shelton gets a turnbuckle smash.
• Shelton having fallen in position, Eddie goes up - Frog Splash but no one's home.
• Shelton tries the superkick, caught, Money Clip is not!
  • Cole: "The Dragon Whip!"
• One two three (4:57) Shelton wins.
• Out of nowhere win, but some credit goes to Haas' distraction.
• Replay - Cole confirms "the Dragon Whip" is Shelton's name for the move.
• What the heck, Chris Nowinski interrupts a "Old School" movie promo
  • As an Ivy School grad, he doesn't find this a good depiction of college
  • This is from the Confidential set, so Gene runs into speak up for the movie
  • This is a pretty blatant paid for plug.

• A look back at Hogan/Rock
  • Tazz lets us know that Hogan and Rock will be here - next week.
• Cole talks about a huge Hugh Hefner announcement next.
  • This was a rather short segment.

• Before the next match, Hugh informs us that a woman from the WWE will be on the cover on Playboy soon.
  • Tazz is sure it's Stephanie.
• Torrie Wilson vs Dawn Marie Wilson in a Valentine's Day Bra and Panties Match
  • The ring is suitably decorated.
    • Tazz: "I love chocolate covered cherries."
    • Pink lighting, too.
    • They have pretty good outfits, for actual wrestling purpose.
  • Dawn gets the shirt.
  • Cole and Tazz get into a discussion of Things I Don't Ever Want To Know
    • Cole: "I've got a couple of those Girls Gone Wild tapes!"
    • Tazz: "I know, you've lent me a couple-"
    • I guess this is better that it's not RAW
  • Crowd: "Take it off!"
  • Torrie tries to get the pants in rollup, but apparently they're too tight for her to get them fast enough.
  • Tazz and Cole discuss the difference between this and a normal Bra and Panties match.
  • Cole: "Who could forget, at one time, Dawn was actually Torrie's stepmothers."
  • Torrie gets Dawn's shirt.
    • Tazz: "What's Al Wilson thinking about this?"
    • Cole: "Tazz, he's dead."
    • Tazz: "That's a good point.
  • Torrie gets another, um, nearfall on a rollup, but again seem to be having problems getting them all the way down.
  • They do a roll up sequence at 1/10th normal speed.
  • Dawn almost accident kills Torrie with a clothesline.
  • Cole lets us know that he's been reading - "looking through the pictures" of Playboy since he was 13.
  • Dawn goes to the top rope for some reason.
  • Torrie gets the pants. Torrie wins. (3:51)
  • Now Nidia is out and attacking Torrie for some reason.
  • Dawn and Nidia are working together.
  • Torrie makes the comeback on a whip.
  • What a bad clothesline for Nidia! And for Dawn!
  • Slam is okay.
  • Nidia loses her pants too.
  • Torrie ends up spanking Nidia too.
  • After Nidia and Dawn leave and they play his music, Torrie takes her pants half down.
• Tale of the Tape
  • John Cena's finishing move is the Killswitch
    • I wonder if putting together this graphic reminded them that they don't have a name for it.
  • His career highlights are "Ph.D. in Thugonomics" and "5 Time West Newbury Freestyle Champion"
    • Freestyle wrestling or rapping?

• Brock Lesnar (Minneapolis, MN, 295 pounds) vs John Cena
  • Brock goes under the ring and pulls out a chair, so Angle can sit and watch.
  • Cena is serious! Seriously rapping his way to the ring.
    • Brock is dumb.
    • Cena will silence the critics not.
    • Cena's actually pretty good here.
    • "That's a nice tattoo - of your mother on your back" gets a lot of "ooooohs"
  • Cena walks right into the beatdown.
  • Cold says Lesnar is 294 pounds.
    • Maybe he's hanging out with Matt.
  • Cena getting killed - overhead belly to belly slides him out.
  • Unfortunately for Cena, Brock comes out after him - press slam onto the table.
  • Cena comes back with eye pokes.
  • His strikes have more effect than Benoit's on A-Train
  • Brock does come back with strikes and turnbuckle smashes of his own.
  • Brock is focusing on the back, beating the heck out of him.
  • Another overhead belly to belly suplex that slides Cena out.
  • Choida prevents Brock from going out, so he opts to take off the top turnbuckle.
  • Cena grabs his chain and loads up his fist.
  • Choida yells at Brock to stop. Brock undoes the corner, and runs right into the Cena loaded punch.
  • Cena is down, then covers - one two NO!
  • Cena goes to stomping. Back suplex gets a two count.
  • Chinlock with bodyscissors.
    • Announcers note that this is Angle like, and wonder about an Angle/Cena alliance
  • Brock manages to stand up out of it
  • Cena is rammed in the corner but holds on and Brock is back down. 
  • Crowd tries to get Brock into it, and he starts to stand up again.
  • Ram again, and Cena holds on.
  • Ram the other side and Brock breaks free. Both are down.
  • Clothesline by Cena.
  • Forearms to the back.
  • Kicks in the corner, but a right hand is blocked and Brock turns it around.
  • Another overhead belly to belly suplex. A fourth!
  • Brock charges Cena in the corner, Cena moves, Brock stops himself before running into the unprotected corner.
  • Brock with a back elbow, Cena takes the unprotected turnbuckle smash.
  • F5. One two three. (6:23)
  • Brock calls out Kurt.
  • Backstage, Kurt and Paul decide they're too smart to do that.
  • Brock tries to change him mind.
    • Cena is picked up - F5 into the post!
    • That's the move that put Angle out of action.
  • Angle is incensed. He's not getting punked out. He's going out there!
  • Break.

• We pick up with Kurt's music playing.
  • No sign of Paul.
  • Kurt goes no further than the stage.
  • Kurt starts to talk but Brock cuts him off.
  • Brock wants to face Kurt, right here right now
  • Kurt talks up the match while waking to the ring.
  • Kurt says okay - and goes in the ring.
  • Face to face. Nose to nose.
  • "But not tonight."
  • He'd love to, but, uh, he's got a sinus infection.
