recap

A lame duck show with a bit of randomness and a bit more of people getting hurt.

no idea what Psicosis was thinking

La Parkita & Mascarita Sagrada vs Mini Chessman & Mini Psicosis: missing a bit of spark and felt like a second tier minis match, then Parkita got hurt and it was almost over from there. Nothing special.

Argos

Argos & Lolita vs Sexy Star & Tito Santana: Pairing Tito with your big upcoming star is a nice idea, because he’s been really good at making other people look good. I was just surprised the big star was Lolita and not Argos (but that’s definitely the way the crowd saw it at the end.) This match probably would’ve been better served with Jennifer Blake in it then trying to work spots around Sexi Star’s limitations (or just pretending the spots weren’t actually bad.)

best splash yet

Monster Clown, Murder Clown, Psycho Clown vs Billy el Malo, Cibernético, Escoria (and part 2): I often point out the one guy who’s getting thru without a lot of work, but I really should mention how hard Escoria & Billy are working here. They’re taking everything well, and moving at double speed on offense. Both guys seem to believe this is a big opportunity and are doing their best to make this work. Finish was a bit of a cop out, but unsurprisingly so. Bizarros lose a lot of matches by pinfall as it is.

heck of an armdrag

Drago, Extreme Tiger, Joe Lider vs Chessman, Decnnis, Súper Fly: This was good fun. Last week’s was better, because it was less Joe Lider-y (and Joe Lider paid a heavy price for being Joe Lider in this one), but Drago/Chessman match up well and the non-Drago rudos did well by themselves too. No complaints.

Metal had a rough day

Dr. Wagner Jr., Electroshock, Heavy Metal vs Chessman, Silver King, Último Gladiador: This was an one, where they seemed short on time, then did crazy unexplainable run-ins to finish it that really had nothing to do with anything. They did tease a Sexi Star vs Nanyzh Rock match, which would be incredible. For a match where one guy had just killed himself in the previous match and another guy looked way out of it for at least half the match, this was ok.

  1. So if Mistico ever returns to Mexico and signs with CMLL, how fast do you think AAA will fire Argos? This is the worst example of a wrestler being pushed due to a famous family member that I can recall since Atlantico.

  2. @Tim: I’m gonna go with yes. I actually think Super Halcon Jr. is fine for his position and age. Dragon Lee is your typical green overpushed rookie. He’s only going to get better, I just wish he wasn’t in mid-card matches yet. Argos has no excuse. He’s been around 10+ years and seems to be totally lost in the ring except when he’s doing his signature spots.
