Mayan vs Caveman, Lucha Underground, BOOM in Aficion

Lucha Libre BOOM (TUE) 11/25/2014 Arena Aficion [Estrellas del Ring]

2) Douki, Robbie E, Zema Ion b Erik Santiago, Low Rider, Scott Santiago
3) Ángel o Demonio & Ovett b Aero Boy & Violento Jack
4) Belial, Freelance, Impulso, Suicida b Arez, Cíclope, Drastik Boy, Ninja de Fuego

Big push for Fantasma de la Opera/Tony Rivera
6) Negro Navarro & Trauma I b Fuerza Guerrera & Juventud Guerrera and Hijo de Pirata Morgan & Pirata Morgan
7) Heavy Metal & Myzteziz b Averno & Dr. Wagner Jr.

Results aren’t really important – I’ll give you one guess how that main event ended – but the turnout for this show is amazing. This building has had some very low turnouts, not just for local guys but DTU shows and shows with CMLL wrestlers, to the point where I thought this arena just might be dead. Nope: it looks like there was 80+% turnout out for the debut show (with a lot of people who worked for IWL and apparently know what they’re doing.)

CMLL (TUE) 11/25/2014 Arena México [CMLL, ESTO]
1) Metatrón & Robin b Akuma & Camorra
2) Demus 3:16, Pequeño Olímpico, Pierrothito b Fantasy, Shockercito, Último Dragoncito

Kamaitachi won in about 7 minutes with a German suplex.
5) Hombre sin Nombre, Sangre Azteca, Virus b Ángel de Oro, Dragon Lee, Stuka Jr.
Sangre Azteca replaced Polvora. Tecnicos took 2/3. Dragon Lee beat Virus.
6) Atlantis, Delta, Guerrero Maya Jr. DQ Bárbaro Cavernario, Hechicero, Mephisto
Reyes del Atlantida took 1/3, the last when Barbaro desperately fouled Maya.

Maya/Barbaro has some possibilities.

Today’s Lucha Underground show is named “Boyle Heights Street Fight.” In a stunning coincidence, the show will feature a Boyle Heights Street Fight with Prince Puma and Big Ryck. The TV preview

Prince Puma fights Big Ryck in the Boyle Heights Street Fight; Konnan worries he’s made a mistake; all moves are legal.

Can’t believe Konnan would ever make a mistake, this is really going to be an acting stretch for him.

matches taped for the show
Mascarita Sagrada vs Son Of Havoc – might have been a dark match
Drago vs Mil Muertes – teaser clips
Sexy Star vs Chavo Guerrero Jr.
Big Ryck vs Prince Puma [street fight] – teaser clips

The show airs at the normal 8pm ET on the East Coast. The repeat is one hour of earlier this week, at 10pm ET and then again repeats tonight at 1AM ET

I’ll probably have a Lucha Underground recap tonight, but it may be later than usual due to the holidays. The schedule will continue to be erratic the rest of the week.

Marcela will defend the CMLL World Women’s Championship against Syuri in Tokyo on 12/12.

Rob has a music video of 07/29/14 CMLL with Titan vs Barbaro.

BxB Fly has music videos of 09/01/2014 Puebla, 09/02/2014 Guadalajara, and 09/07/2014 Coliseo.

Segunda Caida very much enjoys a 2010 Rey Bucanero/Mistico match from Puebla.

CaraLuchas has a promo about how Belial doesn’t want to team with Oro (so now you’re supposed to pay to see them not get along, I guess?)

+LuchaTV talks to Super Pinocho & Super Muneco about winning Copa MUJAM ten days ago.

Averno says the AAA Trios titles will be the first of his many wins in AAA.

Misionero took Genesis’ hair on the AAA show in Arena Santa Lucia on Sunday.

Hacha de Guerra took Super Colt’s hair on the WMC show, where Dinamic Black and Guerrero WMC signed for a mask match.

An article about Blue Demon’s chiropractor. Worth clicking on the link just for the billboard.

Lineups

CMLL (TUE) 12/02/2014 Arena México
1) Bengala & Leono vs Camorra & Espanto Jr.
2) Lluvia, Marcela, Skadi vs Dalys, La Seductora, Zeuxis
3) Blue Panther Jr., Oro Jr., The Panther vs Puma, Sangre Azteca, Tiger
4) Ángel de Oro vs Hombre sin Nombre [lightning]
5) Dragon Lee, Fuego, Valiente vs Ephesto, Mephisto, Virus
6) Bárbaro Cavernario, Hechicero, Negro Casas vs Delta, Guerrero Maya Jr., Máscara Dorada

Barbaro/Maya followed up, so it seems like they’re going with it. Delta & Hechicero are back as well, and Casas & Dorada are pretty good as extra guys. That could be a stellar main event. Virus & Dragon Lee keep running into each other in semimian and the Panthers and Felinos meet again in the tercera. Hombre sin Nombre could use a good lightning match.

CMLL (TUE) 12/02/2014 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara
1) Robin & Stigma vs Évola & Jocker
2) Astral, Meteoro, Último Dragoncito vs Demus 3:16, Mercurio, Pequeño Olímpico
3) Stuka Jr., Super Porky, Tritón vs Kráneo, Morphosis, Olímpico
4) Rey Cometa vs Sagrado
5) Atlantis, Máximo, Volador Jr. vs Euforia, Thunder, Último Guerrero

So now it’s going to be this weird thing where we get the lineup for the following week’s Guadalajara show before we have the results, but then we sort of can tell the results based on what matches are now on the show. Cometa/Sagrado is an interesting Sagrado match.

11/22-23 lucha videos

Puebla is pre-empted everywhere. IWRG is pre-empted on the channel I get.

Terra was a mess for my recording. I’m posting the HD version only for anyone who’s cutting the video up for something else, because the sound is completely out of sync. Video may skip a bit and audio goes out of sync a bit even on the lesser quality videos; I need a better way of handling this when the feed goes bad.

C3 will be up later.

Shows Watched But Nothing Worthwhile

Nothing! This is what happens when I start including Good up above, everything looks happier even though the same amount are going on the final list.

Again, didn’t get CMLL on CadenaTres this week but nothing jumps out from it.

IIRC, there were some Good matches on CMLL on Terra: 2014-09-21 but nothing I’d put in Great. The reason I’m doing this sort of thing is because I don’t trust my memory this far back, so That judgement is mostly useless.

The Anniversary show is with the next batch.

Mephisto vs Valiente, 2014

2014-04-29 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara Mephisto © b Valiente [MEX LH]
2014-09-23 Arena México Mephisto © b Valiente [MEX LH]
2014-10-12 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara Mephisto © b Valiente [MEX LH]
2014-12-01 Arena Puebla Mephisto © vs Valiente [MEX LH]

Recall that Hector Garza got five shots at Ultimo Guerrero and the heavyweight championship before finally winning it, so Valiente is still in good shape.

(Note that the Arena Puebla Twitter posted zero times about Arena Puebla last night – but did RT the questionable Ultimo Guerrero Twitter. Neither are probably official.)

Sangre Azteca replaces Polvora in the semimain and Arkangel & Canelo Casas replace Cancerbero & Raziel in the tercera today.

CMLL also announced that tomorrow’s bodybuilding contest will air live on Terra at noon. Maybe someone asked? I dunno. Will try to record but I’m not handling that speedily this week.

All the good CMLL information is buried in a reply on their Facebook page: CMLL confirmed Zeuxis, as the daughter of a Mexican woman (and Puerto Rican father) is eligible for the Mexican Women’s Championship in the eyes of the Mexico City lucha commission. (And so the title match being pulled wasn’t about that.)

Black Terry Jr. has highlights of Sagrado/Arez, Hechicero/Black Terry, and the CMLL/indy trios from the ChilangaMask show.

LuchaWorld has KrisZ’s news update and this week’s Poster-Mania.

DoradaFan has a music video of early Sombra.

This week’s magazine covers go with Infierno en el Ring as the main story.

+LuchaTV has video of Toxin Boy breaking his fingers at the WCS show, longer highlights for Fly Star vs Toxin Boy from that show, Fly Warrior vs Herodes Jr., and Alfa getting hit hard on that show (which may explain his injury on IWRG.)

Negro Navarro & ? vs Black Terry & ? has been added to the 12/21 Lucha Memes show. Navarro ought to choose Guerrero Maya Jr. since he’s probably planning on getting involved anyway. Given the recent family fights in IWRG, perhaps Terry will team with one of the Traumas?

Cara Lucha has a promo for a 12/28 Lucharama show with the Sky Stars playing SNES and a Hechicero promo for the 11/29 show.

Ohtani’s Jacket reviews more La Fiera vs El Dandy.

Tsunami won the annual Copa LLF.

Ultimo Guerrero is #1 on CMLL’s top 10. Stigma is #10 based on being chosen for FantasticaMania.

Dinastia is upset at Mini Charly Manson for jumping him instead of just asking for a title match.

A brief Taya interview about her career.

The two day Puebla Lucha Libre Expo was said to draw 3,000 people. The shows were local luchadors (including Pegasso and a few Arena Puebla guys.)

Blue Demon Jr. spoke at a political discussion, said he’d start his own party if he got into politics because all the existing ones are rotten.

Lineup

Star Jr. replaces Starman on Friday. Virus replaces Boby Zavala and Triton replaces Pegasso on Sunday in Arena Coliseo.

CMLL (MON) 12/01/2014 Arena Puebla
1) Artillero, Guerrero Espacial, Súper Comando vs Asturiano, Black Tiger, Sensei
2) Metálico, Policeman, Toro Bill Jr. vs Lestat, Oro Jr., The Panther
3) Misterioso Jr., Pierroth, Sagrado vs Ángel de Oro, Stuka Jr., Tigre Rojo Jr.
4) Mephisto © vs Valiente [MEX LH]
Mephisto’s tenth defense.
5) Bárbaro Cavernario, Negro Casas, Shocker vs La Máscara, Máximo, Volador Jr.

Will this be the time? Maybe. Mascara and Volador will annoy each other in the main event – how haven’t they have four matches already?

Lestat is listed as returning (from retiring), but he was also listed on those Puebla Expo shows and didn’t wrestle there either so I hope someone else is ready. Tigre Rojo Jr. making i up all the way to the terceras is somewhat interesting.

CMLL (SUN) 11/30/2014 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara
1) El Tapatío vs Relampago Azul
2) Dr. Frezeer vs El Chacal
3) Leo & Virgo vs Furia Nazi & Sádico
4) Exterminador vs Demonio Maya
5) Dragon Lee, Gallo, Máscara Dorada vs Jocker, Mr. Águila, Olímpico
6) Ángel de Oro vs Euforia

El Chacal makes his debut; he turned up on Club Arena Olimpia. Oro/Euforia seems like it should be a title match, but maybe that means Euforia has a chance.
