taped 2013-10-15 @ Arena Mexico
Metálico & Molotov vs Akuma & Misterioso Jr.: Misterioso as a replacement made it the usual opener less than that. He wasn’t so into being here and it showed, doing what he just needed to get by. Akuma and the técnicos had no chemistry and this was a lot less than last week’s match. This is also the usual bit of a midcard wrestlers struggling to beat early match guys, because no one’s any better than any one else (which means they’re all not too good.)
Acero, Eléctrico, Fantasy vs Pequeño Olímpico, Pequeño Warrior, Pierrothito: Warrior versus Fantasy is the most random of all random feuds. Eléctrico is getting really good, especially he works with Pierrothito, but there frequently doesn’t seem to be enough motivated skilled people around to have a good trios match. This was not a good match Acero’s back and you would’ve hardly noticed he was here at all, then you would’ve noticed he looked way out of form.
Delta, Guerrero Maya Jr., Rey Cometa vs Namajague, Shigeo Okumura, Virus: Fun match that would’ve been even better with a little more time. First two falls were more intense and inspired while the last was the usual stuff set up to a finish, but everything was done well. Tecnicos were really great as a team, which is unusual for a midcard trios group. Good build up to the tag title match (possibly by compelte concidence.)
Marco Corleone, Máximo, Thunder vs Euforia, Felino, Mr. Niebla: Standard trios match, with Niebla being mean towards Máximo instead of playing along with his antics. Woke up on the wrong side of the bed, I guess. Crowd reacted for the spots they were supposed, but definitely the match you’ve seen before outside of Marco’s wild punching spree near the end. (Repeating the spots is kind of the points, I understand.) Thunder is more interesting when he’s facing Euforia, for reasons which only exist in my mind.
La Sombra, Shocker, Titán vs Morphosis, Mr. Águila, Volador Jr.: A mostly ordinary but kind of dead match that did pick up a little bit in the closing moments. I couldn’t believe Mr. Aguila wrestled the whole match in that big outfit, I could believe he was a little off because of all the time he spent off. Otherwise normal Volador/Sombra feuding with a splash of the other guys.
