Announcers preview the show. No Karla?
Match 1: Metálico & Molotov vs Akuma & Misterioso Jr.
Arena Mexico, 10/15/2013
Winner: rudos (2-1)
Match Time: 10:22
Rating: below average
Notes: Referee is Terror Chino. Misterioso is a replacement, obviously.
1: Pairs are Molotov/Akuma and Metálico/Misterioso. Akuma looks more muscular than Molotov, which a change on both parts. They do a bit more than expected for an opening exchange. Metálico and Misterioso battle to a draw. Second series is straight to the finishes, with Misterioso standing right next to Molotov as he's getting the pin and making no attempt to break it up.
2: Match switches to slaps which seem to play more into Misterioso strengths. Still, it's técnico dominated for the first couple minutes. Akuma and Metálico blow a complicated Metálico armdrag – seems like it's Akuma's fault, but Metalico's the one who falls on his face. Rudos sort of take over, and definitely win soon after that. Misterioso breaks out a belly to belly for his finish.
3: Rudo beatdown lasts only a minute before Molotov escapes a corner charge. Metálico evades a Misterio charge. He dropkicks Akuma, but Misterioso has had enough. Repeated corner clotheslines for Molotov take back control of the match. Akuma full nelson Metálico, then lets go way too soon and Misterioso slaps him. Misterioso sees Metálico coming form him and just decides to leave. Akuma and Molotov have an awkward exchange, and now guys just randomly swinging at each other. It's not a fight, it's just kind of sloppy. Akuma dumps Metálico in the rudo corner, and Metálico holds him for a top rope splash. One two three.
Match 2: Acero, Eléctrico, Fantasy vs Pequeño Olímpico, Pequeño Warrior, Pierrothito
Arena Mexico, 10/15/2013
Winner: técnicos (2-1)
Match Time: 11:41
Rating: below average/ok
Notes: Referee is Tirantes. Karla has arrived.
1: Fantasy and Warrior have issues for reasons not explained and are feuding even before the match starts (The hat!) Pairs are Eléctrico/Olímpico, Fantasy/Pierroth, and Acero/Eléctrico. Eléctrico has a nice leapfrog heel kick spot but the kick comes no where near Olímpico. The idea is good, execution is not. The moves he follows with look sharper. Fantasy and Pierroth have a quick moving sequence of counters and near falls of cradles. It ends in a slap fight, Fantasy winning with a slap to the face. Acero and Warrior are barely in – Warrior armdrags Acero out, in a single spot that looks wrong. Rudos double team Fantasy, but Fantasy comes back with a bad boost dropkick. Fantasy drops Pierrothito in the center for a moonsault of some kind, Warrior pulls Fantasy out before he can do it, but Eléctrico lands a springboard elbow drop anyway for the pin. Cameras totally miss that part.
2: Warrior is in hopping around mode. He and Fantasy start of this time, with Fantasy backdropping Warrior easily. Reverse springboard armdrags ends Warrior to the ropes, headscissors sends Warrior thru them. Fantasy chases Warrior, who sprints up the ramp. Eléctrico pulls off his show headscissors with Pierrothito. Acero gets to be in a little longer this time, working against Olímpico, and doing evasion spots (almost falling on a roll over a backdrop) before an armdrag and a kneebar. Olímpico is stuck and gives. Acero struggles, on many levels, with Pierrothito. Pierroth puts him out of his misery with a messed up powerslam and an elbow drop. Eléctrico casadora cradles Pierrothito for a near fall, and Pierrothito nicely blocks a huracanrana into a powerbomb for two. Eléctrico trips and pulls Eléctrico to the floor while Fantasy (apparently) does the same to Pierroth – camera can only show us one of us and we're not going to get a replay. Fantasy and Warrior have an awkward exchange which ends in a Warrior foul, and that's that.
Match 3: Delta, Guerrero Maya Jr., Rey Cometa vs Namajague, Shigeo Okumura, Virus
Arena Mexico, 10/15/2013
Winner: técnicos (2-1)
Match Time: 10:04
Rating: good
Notes: Rudos have jumped the técnicos. Tirantes is back as referee.
1: Virus chokes out Delta with his own cape, while Okumura works on Maya's mask. Cometa and Namajague are not shown for a while, but turn out to be on outside. Namajague slams Cometa into the post. Rudos come together for corner charges on Maya. Namajague slaps Maya down, then kicks the ropes as Delta comes in. Corner whip, reversed, Delta charges in and monkey flips Namajague away. Okumura kicks Delta to prevent him from going on a run. Okumura jawbreaker drops Delta. Virus chokes out Delta with his boot. Virus back elbows Delta, then takes a shot at Cometa on the apron. Marya reaches for a tag, and Virus hits him too. Virus back elbows Delta again, and drags him to the rudo to slam Delta. Tag to Namajague, Namajague frogs plash, one two three. Delta's captain, so that's it.
2: Maya is chopped and kicked around. Namajague poses on the apron to annoy the rudos while Virus holds Maya's arms so Okumura can slap him in the back. Virus is asked to let go, and Okumura drops Maya with a quebradora instead. Namajague kicks around Maya. Whip, clothesline misses, and Maya sneaks in a headscissors. Delta are in, pulls down Namajague by his hair, Namajague gets back up to argue and Maya dropkicks him in the back do to send him out Okumura in but missing a clothesline, and Maya quebradoras him. Tag to Delta, who ducks Okumura and powerslams him on the next pass. Delta fireman's drop in the corner, Cometa 450 splash, one – and Virus BLASTS Cometa in the face with a dropkick. Whoa, I was not expecting that, thought that was the fall. Virus whip, Cometa reverses, Cometa dropkick to the knee and the chest. Tag to Maya, who dropkicks Virus. Whip, hiptoss, tag to Delta. Lots of tags here. Delta springboard plancha in, then a reinera – and that'll do it. Namajague tries to break it up, but Cometa cuts him off with a dropkick, then runs after Okumura for good measure.
3: Maya armdrags and reverse topes Okumura, but misses on a senton. Spinning armdrag and dropkick sends Okumura out to the ramp, where he runs away to prevent a follow up. Maya does the matador wave, and tags in Delta to face Namajague. Chop fight, Namajague winning via foot stomp! Namajague off the ropes, Delta drops down, and Namajague kicks him in in h head before calling him loco. Namajague is in a mood. Whip, reverses, evasion, Delta flattens Namajague with a clothesline. Namajague flips Delta to the apron, Delta springboards in with a headscissors on Namajague. Delta slides out after Namajague for the required quebradora on the floor. Virus knocks Cometa down with a big chop. Evasion, Cometa flipping run, more evasion and a Cometa headscissors sending Virus to the ropes. Cometa bumps Virus, Virus slides out as Cometa handsprings, Cometa slings to the apron, kicks Virus, and follows with a quebradora. Delta baits the other rudos into place for Maya top rope splash on both one two NO. Delta jumps on Namajague's shoulders to start a long process into his crossed leg tapatía, while Maya swiftly gets his reverse suástica on Okumura. That's the win.
Delta demands Okumura accept the tag title match. Okumura demands everyone be quiet. That does not work! Okumura doesn't really answer.
Stellar Moments
El Castigo: Marcela dropkick to Dallys' face
La Llave: Gran Guerrero armbar on Stuka
La Combinacion: triple top con giro by Stuka, Fuego and Angel de Oro
El Técnico: Stuka dive to the floor on Gran Guerrero
Lo Doloroso: Averno taking a headscissors off the apron to the floor (not Titan's dive into the wall??)
Match 4: Marco Corleone, Máximo, Thunder vs Euforia, Felino, Mr. Niebla
Arena Mexico, 10/15/2013
Winner: técnicos (2-1)
Match Time: 13:02
Rating: ok
Notes: Zacarias is with the rudos. Referee is Bestia Negra.
1: Máximo harasses Mr. Niebla. Crowd enjoys it and chants for a kiss. Marco asks if they mean him and Máximo, and they do not. Niebla bails, but Marco seems to chase him back into the ring. More usual Máximo spots to annoy Niebla. Niebla finally is able to trip Máximo onto this face and pulls him over to the rudo corner for a tag to Felino and a kick. Rudos work over Máximo and taunt Marco and Thunder. Euforia big boots Máximo in the face, but not the tecnico corner, and Marco's able to tag in. Felino attacks Marco from behind and rudos work him over. Thunder charges in, missing everyone, gets held and kicked. Double suplex, Euforia easy top rope splash for the pin. Euforia beats Marco too! Who needs partners.
2: Peste Negra style beatdown for near two minutes until Máximo stops it with a butt to Niebla's face. Rudos all fall in a line spots seems tougher than usual with Thunder involved, but the tall guys do a neat bit of press laming Máximo on the pile for the win. Short fall.
3: Niebla messes with the announcers, which they yell about but we don't get to see. Euforia/Thunder forearms back and forth, Euforia getting smacked out of the ring. Niebla and Felino fail. Zacarias gets in a dropkick on Máximo, but Maximo takes care of him and all the rudos. Máximo and Niebla wander into doing their pose, and Máximo gets in the kiss, but it's not a pin. Felino, who kissed Niebla earlier this fall, feels totally betrayed. Marco punches everyone, just all about at the same time in a glorious corner sequence – he punches Niebla and Euforia on the apron while repeatedly leapfrogging Felino. Maximo planchas Felino, Thunder clothesline s the other two, and Air Italia finishes it.
History Capsule: Oro. Which of course includes shots of him dying and dead.
Match 5: La Sombra, Shocker, Titán vs Morphosis, Mr. Águila, Volador Jr.
Arena Mexico, 10/15/2013
Winner: rudos (2-1)
Match Time: 10:27
Rating: ok
Notes: Hey, Shocker exists. Aguila and Volador have evil clown makeup, though Volador is more Joker. Aguila's hair has grown back a bunch. Referee is Tirantes.
1: Rudos have jumped the técnicos when they pick up the match. Volador joyfully goes after Sombra, of course. Aguila doesn’t bother to take off his entrance outfit while he attacks Shocker's left knee. Volador returns to knock down Shocker repeatedly. Titan comes in, and it's his turn to be kicked in the face often. Three man powerbomb, twice, and Titan is done. Volador and Morphosis help set up Shocker for Aguila's legdrop. That's enough for the pin. Welcome back.
2: Running back elbows and Volador heel kick to Sombra's face. I guess that's actually wrestling gear, beaus he still hasn't taken it off and obviously has his normal pants underneath. Guess it's better than wearing a shirt, but shoulder fins must be tough to wrestle in. Triple boot for Shocker. Titan's whipped into a backdrop on the stage. Shocker fights off Mr. Aguila with a kick (he slides in to it), the other rudos kick Shocker down, Titan springboard dropkicks Morphosis, Volador kicks Titan, Sombra springboard headscissors Volador. Boos as Sombra runs – tope con giro. To the técnicos quickly wrap it up. One two three
3: Titan/Morphosis chop fight, then shoulderblocks get them nowhere. Titan handwalk headscissors sends Morphosis out, then follows him there for another headscissors. Aguila punches Shocker a lot, Shocker gets one armdrag and Mr. Aguila holds up on another. Aguila's superkick comes nowhere near Shocker, but he goes with that. Shocker evades a corner charge and faceslams, Aguila and double chops him to end their exchange. Volador and Sombra in last, and have the big faceoff. Morphosis ends with a karate chop to the back (and then a wacky karate pose.) Sombra battles back 2 on 1 against both the Invasors, Volador helping out by superkicking Aguila. Sombra headscissors Aguila out, then all three técnicos set up – Titan tope con giro one side, the other two dives missed by the camera – oh, ah, the rudos apparently trapped the técnicos up. It's hard to know. Técnicos whipped towards each other, but turn it around, Brillante bomb on Volador, inside cradle on Aguila, Aguila escapes, kicks Shocker and kicks Sombra to break up the pin (that Tirantes was in no hurry to count.) Volador charges Sombra and is dumped to the floor, but Morphosis trips up Volador before he can do any more. Volador Asai moonsault to take out Sombra. Shocker and Aguila in, shocker puts on a time killing hold, but Morphosis break it up. Titan returns to springboard headscissors him out, then rolls to the apron. Kick to the face, rope flip moonsault to the floor meets kick! Aguila jumping heel kick – well, that missed, so Shocker doesn’t go with it and Aguila does it again, that time for three. Sombra runs by the pin to set himself up for Volador's inverted huracanrana and that's the match (once Aguila finds out he's not supposed to help out with the pin.
Announcers wrap up. Karla is in hysterics about her partner's inability to remember names.
