recap

taped 2013-07-15 @ Polideportivo La Huizachera, Tehuacan, Puebla

crazy (and kind of dumb) spot

Lucky Boy & Niño de Ébano vs Carta Brava Jr. & El Apache: They went out of their way for a slow start (or what resembles one here) as to not destroy each other too quickly, and then Apache nearly broke both of Niño de Ebano’s legs with a crazy toss to the outside. Everyone seemed to live, but it was still weird. Also, the team of the old guy who’s involved in other matters and the new guy who’s never really been introduced because he’s not actually getting a push until he changes characters (maybe) seems like they probably should be taking losses to the upcoming técnico tag team. This was a good match outside of the weird booking; less frantic and spot filled than other Maxima Velocidad, but there was a sense of pacing to the end.

Consejo sending Psycho running, forget why

Faby Apache, Octagoncito, Pimpinela Escarlata vs Mamba, Mini Abismo Negro, Taya Valkyrie: Okay mixed trios match. They didn’t do a lot early and Octagoncito and Mini Abismo struggled with each other more than usual, but it picked up as they want along and was at a good pace by the end. Rudos were doing more damage to each other than the técnicos could do for a while. Thought the bit with Mamba pulling up Faby was dumb; Mamba should not be that overconfident.

Faby’s current finish

Monster Clown, Murder Clown, Psycho Clown vs Máscara Año 2000 Jr., Silver King, Texano Jr.: Mostly another Consejo/Clown match, though they did change it up by pushing Psycho Clown versus Texano Jr. Even if they don’t ever get around to that match, and I’m not sure they ever actually will, it’s gives them a new dynamic for these matches and they could use something new. Match was okay, though one where they were obviously repeating spots just from last week’s match.

Cibernetico spear

Cibernético & El Mesías vs el Hijo del Perro Aguayo & Psicosis: Standard Perros brawl into a standard AAA main event. Perro and definitely Psicosis didn’t come off as much of a threat to these guys, so of course they beat up the técnicos after the match. It wasn’t so bad that they needed to keep it off national team, but it was also a forgettable fight. AAA’s generally gotten the more interesting matches on the main Televisa show this down period.
