08/17-18 lucha times

box.

TxT is off this week, though preliminary listings have it back on for next week. Those may be wrong, or they may have taped the Veracruz show.

Locally in Chicago, it looks like WOCKF (178/388/635 on Comcast/XFinity) may have picked up the LATV show. Xfinity lists “Lucha libre mexicana” from 11a-1pm on Sundays. (It’s showing up as something else in other guides, but this one is usually correct first.) It’s a MundoFox affiliate, but it’s aired LATV programming in the past.

Some of the La Lucha/e se la Hace episodes are also now on Xfinity on demand.

Both the Televisa/GalaTV airings are now listed at starting 45 minutes past the hour. Seems like a very poor start time if they want anyone to actually watch those shows.

== AAA ==

AAA-Televisa: DF taping, this time for sure! They’ve said the tag team title match will air, the rest is just a guess.

AAA-Fusion: Repeats.

== CMLL ==

Galavision/Televisa: Mascara/Titan, Panther/Rush/Porky vs Averno/Felino/Negro, Mephisto/Niebla/Volador vs Sombra/Mistico/Valiente

FOX: Delta/Fuego/Maya vs Misterioso/Puma/Titan

52MX: Cometa/Tiger, TRV vs trios champs, Sombra/Marco/Maximo vs Ephesto/Mephisto/Volador

C3: Ultimo Guerrero vs Rey Escorpion, maybe the minis title match if they feel like showing it.

TVC Deportes (Puebla): listed as airing for one hour on Sunday (we’ll see.) Would be the Mistico vs Averno Copa Puebla match

Terra: Mex Trios title match.

== Other ==

IWRG-AYM Sports: I’m now listing CableSports, AYM, and LAS becuase they’re all on AYM’s site aymsports.net . Schedule is very subject to change; Game 4 (of 7) of the Mexican playoff semifinals are scheduled for Sunday.

Noches de Coliseo: Doesn’t seem like there was a taping last week, so more from the week prior maybe? Perhaps Super Jack in a singles match?

IWL: Last week aired a show where we never got results (06/16) – it never got put up, but I have most of the show and will put up eventually. It’d be nice if someone else figured out the results. They promoted the 06/18 Arena Aficion show this week, which is probably two tapings – one with the usual tournament, one with some of the other matches.

IWRG Zona XXI: 2013-07-28
taped 2013-07-28 @ Arena Naucalpan
Dinamic Black vs Oficial 911 for the World Wrestling Stars Welterweight Championship – half watched this live (which is the dal with most of the Sunday night IWRG. I’ve been told the two Dinamic Black/911 singles matches are very very similiar outside the finish, so maybe I’ll skip this one and get the one with good camera work.

mid August magazine roundup

I should’ve included this in the new update. Perhaps there will actually be things to talk about tomorrow, so let’s just put this here.

As usual, these are highlights (or at least interesting bits) from some of the recent lucha magazines. Many weeks of them, actually.

Panther, WWL, Marvin, lineups

This week’s TerceraCaida has a group interview with everyone in Blue Panther’s anniversary match this Friday. I haven’t gotten to watch this yet and I’m unsure if Panther did get permission to wear his mask for Friday.

WWL announced Monster Pain vs John Morrison for the WWL championship, Blue Demon vs La Parka vs Carlito, and Mil Mascaras, Psicodelico Jr., and Hijo de Dos Caras vs Los Dinamitas for their 09/08 show in Monterrey.

Ricky Marvin will work in the United States for ROH on September 20 and 21st. No matches announced yet. Ricky’s talked recently about wanting to wrestle in the US so it’s great he’s getting this opportunity. (Also, in a shocking turn of events, it means he’s not retiring to Veracruz yet.) Ricky’s usual partner Super Crazy has a busy August of European tour dates, and is working the WWL shows in early September, but I wonder if he might also end up in ROH with Ricky.

The newest Rudos vs Tecnicos has photos and videos from the Mexico City taping.

LuchaWorld has KrisZ’s news update.

Musician Charly Montana was at Tuesday’s CMLL show, rooting Electrico on. Demus has already challenged Electrico on Facebook.

Hijo del Santo writes about the man who came out with the El Santo name and image, referee Jesus Lomeli.

DJ Spectro writes about the time the fans overturned a doctor’s decision on La Fiera, El Santo’s most successful year, Solitario leaving EMLL, and El Enfermero.

Cronicas Y Leyendas looks back at Jungla Negra’s unusual hold.

Lineups

indy (SUN) 08/18/2013 Arena Coliseo Monterrey
1) Aero Kid & Flecha vs Drako & Muerte Guerrera
2) Sky Kid & Sombra Del Ring vs Mini Andoride & Mini Hator
3) Cirio Negro I, Cirio Negro II, Palomo Negro vs Baby Power, Fomer Lover, Shadow Man
4) Alberto Dos Rios, Hijo Del Centurion Negro, Super Jack vs Codigo Negro, Psicotico, Sertico
5) Jerry Estrada, Principe Guerrero, Rey Demonio vs Gato Fantasma, Silencio, Stuka Jr.

Billed as Jerry’s retirement from Monterrey. Jerry’s pretty much been retired for a while; I’ve only got records of him being in two matches since 2004 (when he was a regular in Monterrey.)

CMLL (TUE) 08/20/2013 Arena Mexico
1) Bengala & Sensei vs Akuma & Ramstein
2) Dalis la Caribeña, Estrellita, Goya Kong vs La Comandante, La Seductora, Tiffany
3) Delta, Hijo del Fantasma, Tritón vs Boby Zavala, Sangre Azteca, Shigeo Okumura
4) Diamante vs Tiger [lightning]
5) La Sombra, Super Porky, Thunder vs Mr. Niebla, Negro Casas, Rey Escorpión
6) Dragón Rojo Jr. vs Niebla Roja

Everyone knows Dragon Rojo is in bad shape except for the person who put together this card. It’s too bad, because it’s otherwise neat to see Niebla Roja in a singles main event.

Escorpion obviously seconds Dragon  Rojo if they have seconds, but who would second Niebla Roja? Niebla & Casas have better things to do. Zavala is meant to be with Escorpion (but they may have forgotten.) Sangre Azeca, finally trying to get some revenge on Dragon Rojo for leaving him behind?

CMLL (TUE) 08/20/2013 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara
1) Esfinge & Metatrón vs Demonio Maya & Évola
2) Magnus, Sky Kid, Soberano Jr. vs Disturbio, Herodes Jr., Sádico
3) Lluvia, Luna Mágica, Marcela vs Amapola, Princesa Blanca, Princesa Sugheit
4) Ángel de Oro, Blue Panther, Titán vs Ephesto, Mephisto, Pólvora
5) Máscara Dorada, Mistico, Valiente vs Euforia, Gran Guerrero, Último Guerrero

Estetas del Aire versus other Guerreros. Two women’s matches on the same day, this is probably the better one.

Toryumon Mexico (SUN) 08/25/2013 Sala del Armas de Magdalena Mixhuca del Distrito Federal [KrisZ]
1) ? vs
2) Baby Star, Sexy Flor, Silvie Silver vs Bastet La Diosa, Estrella Negra, Felina Metalica
3) Celestick I, Super Ciudadano, Zumba vs Akuma, Cholo, El Patan
4) Brazo de Platino, Hijo del Fantasma, Último Dragón vs Gran Guerrero, Rey Bucanero, Terrible
5) Atlantis vs Último Guerrero [COPA NSK]

Possible Anniversary show preview a few weeks ahead of time. This post actually lists the open, but it’s too tiny to actually see.

LUCHAS 2000 (SAT) 08/31/2013 Arena Lopez Mateos [@blackterry, KrisZ]
1) Shoeline & Tobby vs Golden Bull & Ranger
2) Goya Kong & Marcela vs Amapola & Tiffany
3) Centvrión, Dinamic Black, Golden Magic vs Comando Negro, Freelance, Suicida
4) Blue Panther, Negro Navarro, Shu el Guerrero vs Averno, Mephisto, Negro Casas
5) Atlantis & Último Guerrero vs La Sombra & Volador Jr. [Relevos Increíbles]

Definite Anniversary show preview! Semimain is Averno vs Panther with bonus Negros, tercera is IWRG now versus IWRG past.,
