taped 2013-05-12 @ Arena Coliseo
Blue Panther vs Virus in a lightning match: GREAT technical match which seemed nowhere near resolved when it ended; it was nothing like the usual time limit draw where both guys were going for desperation finishes near the end, but one where both guys were wearing each other out but still needed at least four or five more minutes to get to those ending holds. Much preferable than the usual Navarro match, because every hold was fought for and fought out of – never a rope break, and always convincing that they were battling for what they were getting. The holds weren’t as showy as they can be in other matches like this, but they all felt earned. The great thing about CMLL is we can get these sort of matches out of nowhere. The frustrating thing is these sort of matches usually go nowhere. Still, between this and the Arena Coliseo Anniversary match (brought up repeatedly here), it seems like someone’s decided to do more of these type of matches over time.
Delta, Guerrero Maya Jr., Super Porky vs Kráneo, Rey Bucanero, Rey Escorpión: A fun and more action oriented match than you’d expected with Porky involved. Everyone was at their usual levels and worked well together. Finish was totally random. The Guerrero Maya vs Kraneo war continues. I probably can stop seeing Brazo de Plata and Rey Bucanero do the same comedy bits in every match, but it’s sort of what Brazo de Plata has to do.
Felino, Negro Casas, Shinsuke Nakamura vs Máscara Dorada, Rush, Titán: Cut down a lot in the third fall, but still a fun match. Dorada pinning Negro came out of nowhere live, but makes more sense when you look back to see they were the captains for no other reason. They have to be doing Nakamura vs Rush while Nakamura is in Mexico, or I’ll be very disappointed. Dorada vs Negro will also be a lot of fun.
