Diamante Azul being Diamante Azul

Pegasso, Starman, Triton vs Arkángel de la Muerte, Hooligan, Skándalo: Finish came out of nowhere, like they were planning to end on the same bit, but just hit a surprise time cue and had to be done right that second. (Or, editing.) Match was okay for the time and breadth, but not up to the standards of a usual match because it was so truncated. This was just getting a lot of people on TV; Televisa viewers now know Isis exists, and some time down the line we may find out why she exists. You get the impression Starman and Skándalo is going somewhere (or that it was meant to go somewhere and then Starman wasn’t around; Starman was pretty humiliated here.)

Delta vs Tiger in a lightning match: Neither guy really impressed. Delta’s offense reads good, but he’s missing some charisma or some grace to his movements to make him stick out. The limitations of both guys meant he had to burn thru a lot of high flying ideas in this match (and show they weren’t actually good enough to beat Tiger) but the moves themselves weren’t strong enough to get him over despite the loss. The idea with Tiger seems to be his total willingness to foul his way to wins as a way to of making him seem credible, but really should be able to come closer to winning with legitimate offense, and he didn’t get anything in the last half of this match.

press slam of death

Diamante Azul vs Misterioso Jr. in a lightning match: just a Diamante Azul showcase. Very obvious they see Azul a couple levels higher than Misterioso and Misterioso only got in token offense here to set up the Azul comeback. Odd that they didn’t even try a token mat wrestling segment.

Euforia, Niebla Roja, Último Guerrero vs Dragón Rojo Jr., Rey Escorpión, Tama Tonga: not much of a match in itself but showcased the feud well. The two teams are getting over the hate between them well, and it makes the feud stick out from the other action that’s going on. UG’s side is treated like the ‘right’ side, but both are still working as rudos. Tonga felt like he belonged in this mix today.
