CMLL (TUE) 08/14/2012 Arena Mexico [CMLL, Kaiser Sports]
1) Apocalipsis & Camorra b Freesbe & Oro Jr.
Oro Jr. debuted in Arena Mexico. He had a few supporters in the crowd and looked respectable
2) Fantasy, Niño de Acero, Shockercito b Mercurio, Pequeño Universo 2000, Pequeño Violencia
Tecnicos took 1/3. Shockercito & Fantasy teamed to beat Violencia.
3) Robin b Artillero [lightning]
In 9:05 (!!!), Artillero beat Robin.
4) Hijo del Signo, Raziel, Virus b Hombre Bala Jr., Pegasso, Super Halcon Jr.
2/3 for the rudos. Focus on Virus/Pegasso, Virus pinning Pegasso in the third for the win after Pegasso won the first.
5) Ángel de Oro, Delta, Guerrero Maya Jr. b Misterioso Jr., Tiger, Vangelis
Misterioso replaced Sangre Azteca. Tecnicos took 2/3.
6) Diamante, La Sombra, Titán b Niebla Roja, Pólvora, Último Guerrero
Tecnicos took 2/3, with Diamante submitting Niebla Roja while UG might have been counted out after a Sombra tie.

Axel sent out a statement saying he had won the right to use the name “Nieto del Santo” in court – or possible more accurately, Hijo del Santo can’t stop him or any other grandson from using that name. Axxel says Hijo del Santo falsified records to appear as if he got 100% control of the Santo name, but the courts ruled back in May all the sons had equal rights and dismissed Hijo del Santo’s claim of sole ownership. That seems to set up some Hurcan Ramirez possibilities down the line, but right now explains why Hijo del Santo’s son has been billed as “Santo Jr.” the last few months.

Alex Koslov & Rocky Romero will return to Mexico on 09/30 as part of a LEGEND show at Arena Lopez Mateos. Chris Masters had been previously announced. No offense to him, but those two names are a bit more interesting in Mexico. I’d assume both would be happy to work with but it may not be politically possible with the CMLL/NJPW alliance. Those two coming back to CMLL as IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team champions could do some business (especially if the Mexican guys might actually win), but I’d presume CMLL holds a grudge. That’s what they do. Anyway, the theme of the show is Mexico vs the Rest of the World, which means Zumbi and any Japanese freelancer around will also be working this show.

Prince Devitt says hello to CMLL.

The A&E El Luchador series will have a booth with Rey Bucanero, Felino, Shocker, and “independent” Magnus at the Expo. They’re teasing a mystery fifth cast person, which is a mysterious concept – they’ve previous announced Estrellita (who’s already going to be there) & Mistico would be in the cast of the show. They’ll also be a live chat.

In talking about the expo, Crazy Boy says DTU will soon starting using their YouTube channel (besides DTU Oficial Extremo I guess.) DTU will start posting full shows on DTUTV on 09/07, with a new show every two weeks.

B-Champs will have Fenix, Fishman & Hijo de Fishman, Hijo del Fantasma, Misterioso Jr., Stukita, Stuka & Fuego, Xtreme Tiger and Ephesto signing autographs at their Expo stand. No times/dates yet.

REINA X World will have a four women tournament for a new REINA-CMLL International Championship on 08/26. They shows off this belt in CMLL a few months ago as a new championship, though Open the Puroresu Gate believes it’s now to replace the International Junior Championship (held by Silueta.) The four women in the tournament are Leon, Alex Lee, Tiffany, and La Malcriada. No idea who La Malcriada is, this promotion is too obscure for me. On the same show, Silueta & Crazy Mary will challenge for the REINA Tag Titles, against the winner of this weekend’s title match.
