Astral & Eléctrico vs Demus 3:16 & Pierrothito: Got about the same amount of match time as a lighting match (more when you add in the minute between each fall), but it felt like an adequate time for a minis match and they weren’t prevented from the sort of match they’d have on other occasions. It was good, I guess I’m saying, and it being a tag match instead of a trios match made sure they had enough time. I hope they knew this match was on TV and that’s why they tried some of this stuff; I’d hate for Astral to be doing sentons to the floor in ordinary matches.
Black Warrior, La Máscara, Valiente vs Rey Escorpion, Vangelis, Virus: I liked what they did here. They didn’t have the time to do a full match and knew it, so instead of just rushing thur the usual stages, they just spent the entire time building to a big comeback, teasing it a couple times before getting to it, and went from there to the finish. The construction of the match was smart. Warrior’s work itself was sloppier than usual, but everyone else was good.
Marco Corleone, Máximo, Rush vs Rey Bucanero, Terrible, Tiger for the CMLL World Trios Championship: Better match than I thought. Maybe ti’s better to say it was more of a match they I figured; it was something beyond the usual match between the two teams, more serious, more intense. When they did the comedy bits, they were followed up with direct attempts to win the match. You got the feeling this one mattered more than all the others, and it should being a title match and all. I liked this a lot.
