IWRG (SUN) 01/08/2012 Arena Naucalpan [Black Terry Jr. (flickr), Estrellas del Ring]
2) Centurión & Eragón b Imposible & Pacto Negro
3) Apolo Estrada Jr., Carta Brava Jr., Eterno b Dinamic Black, Golden Magic, Multifacético
4) Chico Che, Oficial 911, Oficial AK47, Oficial Fierro DQ Tony Rivera, Trauma I, Trauma II, Ultramán Jr.
Chico Che went to the ring as Oficial Chico Che. Traumas and Oficials are still feuding, with Oficial 911 taking a martinete from Trauma I for the DQ.
5) Angelico, Héctor Garza, Veneno DQ Cien Caras Jr., Hijo de Máscara Año 2000, Máscara Año 2000 Jr.
A match where Garza didn’t get along with his teammates the entire time, then was fouled by Mascara Ano 2000 Jr., but the referee noticed enough to call DQ. Garza talked about bringing in Perros to fight the Capos.

CMLL (SUN) 01/08/2012 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara [Fuego en el Ring]
1) El Alteño DQ In Memoriam
Memoriam clearly fouled Alteno for the DQ.
2) Ángel del Mal & Metalik b Brillante & Javier Cruz
Brillante – no known relation to the Laguna ones – debuted here. He’d previously appeared on the Apolo Dantes indy shows.
3) Èvola & Exterminador b Esfinge & Leo
4) Triton b Mr. Águila
One fall match, Triton winning via cavernaria. Mr. Aguila destroyed and unmasked Triton after the match.
5) Rey Bucanero & Tiger b Atlantis & Titán
Rudos took falls 1/3, Tigre sneaking in a foul on Titan for the winning pin.

Black Terry Jr. has video of Magnus vs Tauro from the Toryumon show.

Rob has highlights of 01/24/11 Puebla and 06/14/11 AAA in Neza.

SuperLuchas #444 is their 2011 awards. Spoiler: the rookie of the year is Kansuke.

Segunda Caida has a review of the 12/03 CMLL Gala and Fox shows.

4) Ángel de Oro, Blue Panther, La Sombra vs Felino, Negro Casas, Pólvora

CMLL (SUN) 01/08/2012 Arena Mexico [CMLL, La Catedral]
1) Bengala & Robin b Cholo & Zayco
Tecnicos took 1/3.
2) Apocalipsis, Hijo del Signo, Hooligan b Metálico, Molotov, Sensei
Rudos took 1/3. Hijo del Signo submitted Metalico for the win. Metalico argued with his teammates during the match.
3) Misterioso Jr., Vangelis, Virus b Dragon Lee, Fuego, Sangre Azteca
Rudos took 1/3.
4) Hijo del Fantasma, Super Porky, Valiente b Kraneo, Morphosis, Shigeo Okumura
Tecnicos took 1/3. Kraneo (Alebrije) w/Mije (Cujie) and Morphosis (Histeria) lost in their debut. CMLL explained the new names to the crowd. They’ll only be using these identities in CMLL, and will continue on using their previous names on indy shows.
5) Averno, Mephisto, Volador Jr. b Blue Panther, La Máscara, La Sombra
Rudos took 1/3, focusing on Mephisto beating Sombra. This sets up a Sombra title defense next week.

Sombra and Mephisto have met 3 times prior for CMLL’s NWA Welterweight Championship. Sombra is up 2-1, with the only loss being in the short return to Arena Coliseo Acapulco when they were moving titles around to get the right  numbers for the Universal tournament (clearly the top priority.)

Toryumon Mexico (SUN) 01/08/2012 Sala de Armas Magdalena Mixhuca [Black Terry Jr. (flickr)The Gladiatores]
1) Shiranami b Kansuke
2) Goya Kong & Lluvia b Dalis la Caribeña & La Comandante
Dalis worked as a ruda
3) Magnus b TauroDemus 3:16Robin (CMLL)AcumaBrazo de PlatinoRollingHanaoka [Copa Toyota]
sounds like Dragon Scramble rules. Magnus, who spend the last half of El Luchador thinking about turning rudo (before blowing it all off in a 3 minute conversation with Tony Salazar) has a new black outfit.
4) Angelico, Brazo de Plata, Hijo del Fantasma, Último Dragón b Dick Togo, Negro Navarro, Trauma I, Último Guerrero
Dick Togo may have been announced as Ninja Warrior, but was basically Dick Togo. Tecnicos took 2/3. Dragon pinned Trauma I with the Dragon Cutter.

Other News

Black Terry Jr. has photos from a sparsely attended show in DF on Saturday. Mostly indies names, but oddly included Angel de Oro (as a luchado surprise) and Texano Jr. in the main event.

Rob has highlights of 02/01/11 CMLL, 02/04/11 CMLL and 12/27/11 CMLL. Also, things he enjoyed from 2011.

Lineups

IWRG (THU) 01/12/2012 Arena Naucalpan
1) Astro de Plata & Astro Rey Jr. vs Pacto Negro & Rambo Jr.
2) Golden Magic, Oficial Rayan, Oficial Spartan vs Gemelo Fantastico I, Gemelo Fantastico II, Kortiz
3) Centurión & Negro Navarro vs Angelico & Dinamic Black and Carta Brava Jr. & Máscara Año 2000 Jr. and Tony Rivera & Tritón and Apolo Estrada Jr. & Eterno and Imposible & X-Fly and Alan Extreme & Black Terry and Saruman & Veneno [El Protector]

El Protector = IWRG Gran Alternativa. I’d guess Carta Brava, Eterno and Dinamic Black are favorites based on how they’ve recently done, but you may have a better guess than I.

01/21 AAA TV Lineup (Guanajuato)

AAA TV (SAT) 01/21/2012 Estadio José Aguilar, Maya de Guanajuato, Guanajuato
1) Billy el Malo & Escoria vs Mortiz & Semental
2) El Elegido & Fabi Apache vs Alan Stone & Sexy Star
3) Cuervo, Espíritu, Ozz vs Dark Dragon, Tigre Cota, Tito Santana
4) Cibernético, Extreme Tiger, Joe Lider vs Chessman, La Parka, Nicho el Millionario
5) El Mesías & Jack Evans vs el Hijo del Perro Aguayo & Héctor Garza

Lineup via R de Rudo.

Air date: 01/29 – maybe two weeks of Guerra de Titanes and one week of Chilpancingo?

I’m also assume they’re back on Sunday by this point; this is the off week before the Super Bowl and there should be no problem moving AAA back. Five matches also probably means the syndicated show is done and everything is airing in the main 2 hour slot, but we’ll see.

AAA tapings in January are done to fulfill the obligation of having television shows to air, not to actually advance towards Rey de Reyes. That remains true here, but also means some interesting matches slip thru. Opener is the newly tecnico Bizarros versus the newly returned CMLL Primera Wrecking Crew. Mortiz and Semental are obvious additions to the El Consejo group, but need some credibility if they’re not going to take the group down.

Alan Stone is back after being sidelined due to a poor fielding percentage. Not that he’s working with someone who’s going to be trying tricky dives.

Against all odds, Cuervo & Ozz may actually make it back to AAA TV while still AJPW champions. This is their first TV appearance in six months. They’re not the usual type of guys the Milicia faces.

Cibernetico and Parka continue to feud, just switching partners. And the Jack/Perro issue continues with Mesias stepping in for Drago/Fenix.
