11/26 AAA TV Lineup (Hidalgo)

AAA TV (SAT) 11/26/2011 Lienzo Charro de Pachuca, Hidalgo
1) Argenis & Mascarita Divina vs Mini Histeria & Tigre Cota
2) Casandro, La Braza, Pimpinela Escarlata vs Pasion Kristal, Polvo de Estrellas, Yuriko
3) Sugi San & Súper Fly vs Dark Dragon & Tito Santana
4) Fenix & Jack Evans vs el Hijo del Perro Aguayo & Halloween
5) Extreme Tiger & Joe Lider vs Abyss & Chessman
6) El Mesías vs Gunner
7) Dr. Wagner Jr., Psycho Clown, Zorro vs LA Park, Nicho el Millionario, Octagón

2011 AAA TV Chart
Mexico: 12/10

This is quite a lineup of matches. It’s also the last show before Guerra de Titanes.

The last time AAA had seven matches on a regular TV taping was March 2010.

The two hour regional AAA show has a lot less commercials per hour than the main Televisa show, and they have to pad a bit to fill it. I think they can fit the first five matches on that show, and the last two on the main show.

It feels like there’s a lot more mixing of the old top crew with various new guys. Psycho Clown, who seemed like the best of the Circus, gets a chance in the main event here. Based off Jack getting the pin on Perro at the last TV taping, they mix here. Fenix is definitely benefiting from Drago and Argos’ injuries, but it’s pretty clear he’s jumped Aerostar on the depth chart. This is the first time Perro’s been third from the top on a card since March.

If you don’t follow TNA, Gunner is an Evil Security Guy who was the lowest run in their main rudo faction, did well in a recent tournament, and has since seemed to disappear off their TV. He doesn’t really matter much in their overall scheme of things. So maybe Mesias can actually get the win this time? Very few in Mexico will be familiar with Gunner, though they do have a couple weeks to run vignettes. (They’re good at that, when it’s not AAA wrestler.) This is the sort of guy you accept to keep a deal going, but not because you actually wanted this guy.

Fifth match is the match between the current tag champs and the past tag champs, but a non-title match.

Super Fly is a tecnico agian, perhaps? If he’s not broken by the weight of the world, that looks to be really fun. Opener too.

Next taping is 12/01 Toluca.

52MX: Rush vs Terrible! Also, one more weird Hector Garza match.

LATV: the C3 show from last week that I can’t get around to watching. Mr. Cacao/Arkangel in the midcard, La Mascara/Averno in the main event.

TF: look, I’m going to keep picking Polvora/Fuego until they air or they air two tapings in a row that make some sense.

———————

CMLL-Galavision: Dragon Rojo/Lyger in trios, plus a random trios match.

AAA-Regional: They haven’t announced which makes go where this week, but if they do it like last week, the cruiserweights all end up here – opening crew (featuring Daga and the end of Relampago) and Sugi making a rare appearance to team up with Aero & Fenix vs Dark Dragon, La Parka and Super Fly. Casandro debuts in the exoticos match. Chessman & Rudo Octagon vs Wagner & Electro is the match repeated on both.

AAA-main: the exclusive match here is Damain 666/Park vs Mesias/Zorro

FOX: Fuego vs Euforia in a lightning match, Peste Negra vs Panther/Shocker/Porky. They’ve snuck in 3 matches on weeks where the lightning match has ended up here; that’d be a women’s trios. This week.

C3: Averno vs Mascara in trios, TRT vs SSS (Stuka, Sangre, Sagrado, who probably shouldn’t actually use that name), Azteca/Diamante/Lee vs Euforia/Hooligan/Loco which suonds pretty good, and a women’s match.

Mega6: Bam Bam vs Violencia is the swing match, with more Cats vs Joven Tapatios (plus Misterisoo & Gallo) and Atlantis/Fatnasma/Toscano vs the Invasors.

Others: Has anyone figured out how to tell if Multimedios is going to air the Sunday afternoon show? It’s completely at random as far as I can tell. The last night version might have the Mascara Purpura appearance. There’s been no sign of Puebla or Perros on YouTube since they’ve been back, so I’m just guessing wildly that they’re on their usual pace. IWRG definitely has not – they aired the Castle of Terror show this past week, and I’m guess they just go ahead to the next Thursday, but they might skip to catch up again. AYM is listing lucha at 11:30AM on Saturday again, but I don’t even know what promotion it’ll be; this past Tuesday night, they aired a two match show with Mascara Dorada, (tecnico) Alebrije, Pantera versus Crazy Star, Monsther, and Hooligan. I can’t find any record of it happening, but I did see Chucky give Alebrije a samoan drop, so I may just be hallucinating.  (It’s from somewhere in Guanajuato, maybe Irapuato, based on the local names in the opener.)

Panther vs Felino, Shocker’s new trio, CMLL/NJPW, Bobby Lee

CMLL (TUE) 11/15/2011 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara [Fuego en el Ring]
1) Javier Cruz Jr. b Thunder Boy
2) Artillero & Súper Comando b Leo & Robin
3) Bam Bam b Pequeño Violencia [lightning]
recap lists it as straight falls; it had been promoted as a one fall match.
4) Gallo, Metal Blanco, Palacio Negro b Misterioso Jr., Puma King, Tiger
Best match of the night. Tecnicos took 1/3, Gallo pinning Misterioso.
5) Atlantis, Hijo del Fantasma, Valiente DQ El Alebrije, Mr. Águila, Psicosis
2/3 for the tecnicos, Psicosis fouling Atlantis in the second. Valiente replaced Toscano, though they had changed the poster at some point.

Looks like a good crowd.

CMLL Press Conference

Didn’t know this one was coming, and it had a bit of news.

  • Blue Panther challenged Negro Casas to a hair match. Negro was thinking about it when Felino jumped in and asked for the match versus Panther. Panther was willing to do a triangle match, but Negro decided to just let Felino have it. It’ll go down 12/16. Either that winner is facing Negro, or Negro will end up in that match yet.
  • Atlantis, Delta and Guerrero Maya were talking about changing their names to Los Titanes de la Atlantida when they were interrupted by Shocker. If you recall, Shocker was upset with those three men for splitting off from them after he had supported Delta & Guerrero Maya Jr. during Forjando un Idolo, and he vowed to form his own group. Shocker revealed the Nuevo Figura promos were actually for his guys – plural, because he introduced Titan and Triton to CMLL. Metro rounds out the trio. Atlantis & company were angry – how can they Titanes de la Atlantida when there’s a new Titan? – and so they vowed to come up with a new name soon. Looks like everyone will be tecnicos but feuding.

There’s already a Triton around who’s in IWRG and turns up in Lucha POP and the like. No idea if this is the same guy. CMLL’s used the names before.

  • Lot of Japan talk, as always.

CMLL revealed which luchadors would be headed to Japan early next year. Valiente, Atlantis and Mascara Dorada will represent CMLL at the annual 01/04 WrestleKingdom Tokyo Dome show. Maybe Lyger/Atlantis vs Valiente/Dorada? Very happy for Vailente to get the opportunity.

Sombra, Maximo, Volador, Mephisto, Okumura, Diamante, Mascara Dorada, Okumura, Rush, and Misteroso. That’ll be Diamante, Rush and Misterioso’ debut in Japan; Misterioso was actually supposed to face Mistico in Japan during his IWGP Junior Heavyweight championship reign, but that was the trip canceled due to the pig flu. No matches announced yet. I would guess Mascara Dorada vs Mephisto on one night and Sombra vs Volador on the other night. Rush defending his title versus someone – Okumura or maybe a NJPW midcarder? – seems likely too.

As for the women, La Comandante showed off her REINA Tag Team belt and they discussed Lady Apache & Marcela visiting the promotion this week.

  • general hype for the upcoming title matches and the ciberneticos this Sunday.
  • No mention of the Heavyweight title. It sounded like Blue Panther made a sly remark about Hector, but that’s about it.

Other News

Bobby Lee and the entire lucha libre commission of Leon have resigned, angered about people being allowed to run shows outside their authority (the recent QPPC show here seems to be part of the issue) and the government officials not giving them any power to do anything about it. Bobby Lee also has been the local promoter here, and it read to me like he’s actually upset that anyone else was allowed to run a show in Leon, but that’s just a guess.

Looks like Perros del Mal sold out Arena Aficion. Perro Aguayo Jr. says the Perros are stronger than every.

Fuego en el Ring has an interview with (sort of) CMLL’s Dama de Hierro about enjoying experience in Japan working for REINA. It reads like she adjusted well. She’s headed up December 12. Zeuxis is back in the next couple of days, though she mentioned on Twitter that she’s headed back a third time in January.

LuchaPOP has an 8 luchador single elimination tournament on it’s next show. So far, they’ve announced the Traumas, Negro Navarro, Black Terry, and Atomic Boy.

There’s a luchadora show in Durham, North Carolina this Saturday, and the host is La Sirenta. (No word if Kurt Brown will make it.) More info on the promotion here.

Kcidis has a great cartoon of Dragon Rojo vs Lyger. Darn Angry Birds.

Rob has highlights of 12/07/10 Perros del Mal & 11/01/11 CMLL.

  • Laredo Kid is among those wrestling on a charity show this Saturday for a boy suffering from autism.
  • Black Mamba talks about wrestling in LuchaPOP and other random DF events.
  • GALLI has a show in Elmhurst on 11/27. I want to go to one sometime, but when you’re watching 9 hours of lucha week and doing whatever these posts are, it’s tough to get motivated to see more. (And yet, I’m going to ResistancePro…)

Averno/Mascara, Garza still around CMLL, Perros, IWRG/DTU

CMLL (TUE) 11/15/2011 Arena Mexico [CMLL, Kaiser Sports, Record]
1) Camaleón & Höruz b Cholo & Ramstein
2) Amapola, Mima Shimoda, Tiffany b Estrellita, Lady Apache, Silueta
Rudas took 2/3. Tiffany and Estrellita are feuding.
3) Ángel Azteca Jr., Diamante, Dragon Lee b Euforia, Hooligan, Loco Max
Hooligan & Loco Max replaced Hijo del Signo & Nosferatu. Tecnicos took 1/3, Diamante with a 450 splash in Loco Max.
4) Rey Bucanero, Terrible, Texano b Sagrado, Sangre Azteca, Stuka Jr.
Rudos took straight falls. Terrible & Texano have “impressive new physiques.”
5) Ángel de Oro, La Máscara, Super Porky b Averno, Ephesto, Mephisto
also straight falls, Mascara beating Averno once again. Mascara challenged again for title match. Averno noted the lack of reaction and said that meant all the fans were on his side (Averno is drawing 15K+ ghosts!) but he will prove he is the champion.

CMLL (TUE) 11/15/2011 Arena Queretaro [Ciudad y Poder]
4) Máximo & Rey Escorpion DQ Cancerbero & Raziel
Rey Escorpion replaced Rush and obviously turned on Maximo.
5) Mr. Niebla & Último Guerrero DQ Héctor Garza & Shocker
Rudos took 1/3, Ultimo Guerrero drawing the DQ by tossing his mask to Hector Garza.

This is the last Hector Garza CMLL match scheduled I know of, but the press, who interviewed Hector, referred to it as “one of his last” , not his last. Hector was also wearing a Perro del Mal shirt.

KrisZ’s report below has Mascarita Dorada and Hector working their scheduled dates in Oaxaca too. I can’t imagine these are big money gigs, so I don’t expect they’re forcing CMLL to let them work these shows, but I don’t understand why CMLL would force them to work the shows either, after they’ve already shown up elsewhere.

Meanwhile, Friday’s locals-only show in Quertearo includes hometown boy Rey Cometa in undercard. Getting a warm up match before returning to CMLL?

PDM (TUE) 11/15/2011 Arena Aficion [The Gladiatores]
1) Drastik Boy b Ciclope
2) Maldito Jr. & Samot b Black Mamba & Diva Salvaje
3) Celestial b Mr. Aguilita, Cósmico, Talisman [PdM MINI]
Celestial’s first defense.
4) Peligro & Pesadilla b Tony Rivera & Zumbi
double Spanish fly. Pelgiro & Pesdailla replaced Bestia 666 & Eterno.
5) Súper Nova b Bestia 666 [PdM LH]
first title defense, bloody match again.
6) X-Fly b Violento Jack, Aeroboy [PdM EXTREMO]
X-Fly beat Violento Jack to keep the title.
7) Damián 666, el Hijo del Perro Aguayo, Halloween b Monster Clown, Murder Clown, Psycho Clown
an exchange of fouls ended with X-Fly fouling Psycho and putting Perro on top for the win.

This was also a TV taping, so they’re now good until the end of the year (or close to it), even before the Anniversary show.

IWRG FIL (TUE) 11/15/2011 Arena Naucalpan [Black Terry Jr. (flickr), The Gladiatores]
1) Galáctico Infernal b Mascarita de Oro, Infierno Kid
No Mini Aerocruzz, so they did a triangle match instead. All guys in this are minis.
2) Flama Infernal & Tonatiuh b Jitsu & Sky Angel
Added match.
3) Halcón 2000, Serpiente Dorada, Súper Black b Blue Monsther, Guerrero 2000, Pacto Negro
How do rookies have Year 2000 gimmicks?
4) Centurión, Rolling Boy, Volaris b Imposible, Matrix Jr., Rambo Jr.
Added match.
5) Alan Extreme, Astro de Plata, Carta Brava Jr., Dinamic Black, Eterno, Golden Magic, Saruman, Tritón b Araña de Plata, Electro Boy, Flamita, Jhonky, Kalibuz, Miedo Extremo, Radical, Slayer [Copa Higher Power] BT Jr.
Flamita was the unnamed DTU participant. Crazy Boy was there with his DTU team, while Oficial 911 and AK-47 were around to provide law and order after Violento Jack interfered in the last match between these two teams. Of course, they all got involved, especially during the final matchup between Carta Brava and Flamita. Eventually, Carta Brava won. Crazy Boy announced a show here on 11/29 (another Tuesday) where the DTU title would be defended against an IWRG luchador.

The poster for the 11/29 DTU show has X-Fly and Joe Lider on it, so they’re on the card as well.

Other News

R de Rudo is highly critical of CMLL for how they’ve handled the Hector Garza departure, pointing out they let Garza work a show but not have him lose the title, haven’t addressed the situation at all, and even still list Garza as champion on their website. Personally, I like the video that includes Dos Caras Jr. & Diana la Cazadora better as dated material.

La Catederal compares CMLL to it’s UWA past the point of no return and believes the lack of seriousness has killed lucha libre by making it look lower class compared to WWE.  (Because there sure was a lot of seriousnes in WWE this week.)

La Comandante does not sound like she had a lot of fun in Japan, at least early. In her first three weeks in REINA, she hurt her knee, head, back and may have broken a nose. “Their fight is very strong, they looked at me in the ring and challenged me with their eyes, and I showed them that I’m better than them.” That’s a promo. Meanwhile, Zeuxis has been counting down the days until she gets to come home on her Twitter. Long term business trips are no fun.

CMLL Gaceta’s preview of Sunday’s card slips in Bobby Zavala will take Zayco’s spot.

A rule of thumb: never bet women in wrestling matches, it will never end well for you.
