recap

The return of a two hour show includes a good opening match which would’ve have made TV any other way, some other decent to good stuff, and a long main event.

this is not possible

Fenix, Lolita, Mascarita Divina, Pimpinela Escarlata vs Dark Dragon, Jennifer Blake, Mini Histeria, Nygma: fun match, with people who haven’t been mixing a whole lot working off each other well. For someone who’s barely been on TV this year (and we’re apparently supposed to forget about who he was with before), Nygma fit in find here. Nice to see Fenix & Dark Dragon showcased with the finish in a match that wasn’t really about them; hopefully they get some attention before they break themselves or everyone else.

uhhh

Argos, Jack Evans, Octagón vs Alan Stone, Decnnis, Súper Fly: way clipped up, and way too much Argos. He’s getting slower and less confident than he was as an opening match guy for CMLL. It’s kind of sad. Everyone else was usual.

Murder, strong shover

Damián 666, Halloween, X-Fly vs Monster Clown, Murder Clown, Psycho Clown [AAA TRIOS]: I guess we now know which Clown is the dumb one. I think luchadors believe the pull up at two spot makes it look like they would’ve won, but it usually makes it look like they are too dumb to win a match. that part annoyed me, but I again appreciated the effort to have a different match than every other match in this feud; this almost felt like the Bizarro world CMLL title match version of this feud, except the Perros still had to get in the chair shots. No problems here.

this happened

Electroshock, Heavy Metal, Joe Lider vs Chessman, Silver King, Último Gladiador: a whole bunch of ladder spots for no apparent reason! This made no sense in 11 minutes, I can only imagine how it would’ve looked on a normal show clipped to five. Still kind of entertaining; generally same level of match as always with these guys, including Metal disappearing for most it.

Nicho!

Dr. Wagner Jr., El Mesías, Zorro vs el Hijo del Perro Aguayo, LA Park, Nicho el Millionario: So long. They got everything in. Rudo Nicho el Millionario is a great addition to the main crew, really making the técnicos offense look impressive. This was otherwise just another long Perros brawl, but his work livened it up.
