DTU vs IWRG, lineups

IWRG (SUN) 10/30/2011 Arena Naucalpan [The Gladiatores]
1) Matrix Jr. & Volaris b Pacto Negro & Super Black
debuts for everyone but Volaris (who’s mostly been a trainee guy)
2) Astro de Plata, Astro Rey Jr., Bugambilia del Norte b Alan Extreme, Araña de Plata, Rambo Jr.
DTU’s Araña de Plata replaced Polifacetico. Rambo Jr. also was making his debut (so he’s not the one from 2002.)
3) Comando Negro, Imposible, Kortiz b Eragón, Eterno, Saruman
Eterno turned on Eragon and joined the rudos. Saruman hit the guardrail on a dive but continued in the batch.
4) Dinamic Black, Golden Magic, Zumbi b Apolo Estrada Jr., Carta Brava Jr., Picudo Jr.
Tecnicos took 1/3. Zumbi pinned Apolo Estrada, though Apolo appeared to kickout before three.
5) Oficial 911, Oficial AK47, Oficial Fierro DQ Aeroboy, Demente Extreme, Violento Jack
extreme match. Aeroboy replaced Super Mega. Crazy Boy and Arana de Plata turned up help the DTU team. Crazy Boy lit a table on fire, but it was Demente Extreme who went thru it. DTU guys eventually hit the referee with a light tube, who bled a lot and called for the DQ.

Terrible wants singles matches with Garza and Rush. Tiger would like to face La Mascara.

Looks like Hijo del Santo & Blue Demon are wrestling in El Paso on 11/18

Unless it gets canceled again. Why are you sending Tigre Blanco to Guadalajara? I like Tiger Blanco. I’m not sure why that’s worth his time or GDL’s time.

GDL, Perros/Psychos, empty arenas

Rudos took 1/3 for the win.
5) Cuchillo Jr. L Fishman Jr. and Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr. and Jaque Mate Jr. and Hijo de LA Park and El Hijo de Rey Misterio and Gallo Tapado Jr. and Ultramán Jr. and Kung Fu Jr. [ruleta de la muerte]
They did staggered entrances into the cage, though no one could leave until everyone was in. Just really to set up a Hijo del Rey Misterio dive onto everyone. First six out were Gallo, Wagner, Cuchillo, Kung Fu Jr., LA Park, Ultraman. At that point, Cuchillo returned and hit Fishman with a guitar when trying to hit Misterio. Misterio went to leave, but a mystery man climbed the cage to stop him – and was revealed to be the first Hijo de Rey Misterio. That’s coming soon. Jaque Mate escaped while security grabbed the mystery man, and then Misterio climbed out to escape. Final two were Fishman and Cuchillo, and Fishman suplexed Cuhillo before leaving. Cuchillo Jr., who was not listed on the the original lineup I saw, is Guillermo Carrillo Arenas from DF. Fishman vowed to get Kung Fu, LA Park, and Misterio’s masks.

Maybe the one of the Hijo de Rey Misterio’s can wear blue, and the other one can wear black? Eh, never would work.

indy (SAT) 10/29/2011 Arena Lopez Mateos [Black Terry Jr. (flickr)Estrellas del Ring]
1) La Parkita (AAA), Mascarita Divina, Mini Charly Manson b Mini Monster Clown, Mini Murder Clown, Mini Psycho Clown
Mini Clowns win streak ended? In Arena Lopez Mateos? This will never be mentioned on TV.
2) Chik Tormenta, Keira, Sexy Lady b La Vaquerita, Ludark Shaitan, Vanely
Tormenta was hurt during the match, but her team still won.
3) Negro Navarro, Trauma I, Trauma II b Black Terry, Dr. Cerebro, Robin Maravilla
Robin Maravilla replaced Cerebro Negro.
4) Sádico b Flamita [AULL Light]
bonus match, Sadico keeping the title.
5) Monster Clown, Murder Clown, Psycho Clown b Bestia 666, Damián 666, Halloween andAeroboy, Pesadilla, Violento Jack and Ángel o Demonio, Coco Rojo, Villano IV and Joe Lider, Mike Segura, Super Crazy and Rocky Santana, Último Gladiador, Yakuza
Porros team was no so much Porros, Coco Rojo and Villano IV subbed in for Leon Rojo and Obett. They also arrived late to join the match, though the team was originally announced for it. Typical crazy hardcore match with tables lit on fire and such. Teams came down to Psychos and Perros, with Lider distracting the Damian to set up a Psycho foul.

Black Terry Jr. has video of the title match, and the Navarros match: fall 1, fall 2, fall 3

CMLL (SUN) 10/30/2011 Arena Coliseo [CMLL, La CatedralRecord]
1) Mercurio & Pequeño Universo 2000 b Aereo & Pequeño Halcón

Tigre Blanco’s first match here since June; back for a Tiger vs Tigre battle! Rudos took 1/3.
3) Diamante, Metal Blanco, Palacio Negro b Hijo del Signo, Misterioso II, Puma King
Tecnicos took 1/3. This and the second match where the best matches on the show.
4) Black Warrior, Super Porky, Toscano DQ Averno, Mephisto, Pólvora
Tecnicos took 1/3, Mephisto fouling Pork in the third.
5) Atlantis, Héctor Garza, La Sombra b Dragón Rojo Jr., Terrible, Texano
Tecnicos took 1/3.

Other News

Don’t have a number for Friday’s Arena Mexico attendance, but it looks very low. They’ve drawn those size crowds on Tuesday’s fairly often, but

Fenix is still mildly confused by La Parka & Octagon being rudos, but also notes “I’ve had many confrontations with Dark Dragon and I’ve almost always won.” True!

Cuchillo Jr. lost his mask in Tijuana.

Rob has highlights of 11/1/10 Puebla, 10/03/11 AAA, 05/97 AAA10/18/11 CMLL and 11/05/10 CMLL.

SuperLuchas #387 has bald Tony Rivera & Zumbido. Inside, an interview with Konnan strangely builds some issues versus Octagon. Also, someone named Stephen Sims writes an article about the CMLL anniversary show. It’s good, I think he might a future in writing about lucha libre.

There’s also an interview with Low Rider, mostly about his TNA tryout. He also says he likes IWRG, but just wasn’t comfortable wearing the Kid USA mask – or any mask – so that’s why that thing fell apart quick.

LuchaWorld has KrisZ’s news update and their 3rd podcast.

Lucha Libre in Japan

10/29 NJPW: 8) Hiroshi Tanahashi, Akebono & Strong Man b Shinsuke Nakamura, Toru Yano & Tomohiro Ishii
That’s an amazing trio. Special show at the US military base.

10/30 NJPW: 2) Tetsuya Naito, Tomoaki Honma & Hiromu Takahashi b Strong Man, Tama Tonga & Kyosuke Mikami

La Comandante lost the main event of today’s REINA show in her farewell show.

In this week’s SuperLuchas, Ozz & Cuervo say they’re headed to Taiwain 11/05 to defend the the AJPW tag titles vs Kaz Hayashi and Shuji Kondo, plus another match the next day. AJPW doesn’t seem to have that as a title defense, but that’s probably a good thing for their hopes. They’re also headed back to AJPW in January, and would like to defend the belts in Mexico and the US.

random six on six main event. I can’t figure out why the Piratas are on the tecnico side of a main event.

Marcela wins the title, Dorada/Mephisto

CMLL (FRI) 10/28/2011 Arena Mexico [CMLLRecord]
1) Metálico & Molotov b Disturbio & Hooligan
Metalico submitted a very Halloween looking Hooligan for the win.
2) Ángel Azteca, Ángel de Oro, Pegasso b Arkángel de la Muerte, Loco Max, Skándalo
Skandalo wore a half Dr.X mask. Angel de Oro replaced his injured brother. Tecnicos took 1/3, Oro mecedora on Arkangel to end it.
3) Shigeo Okumura, Virus, Yoshihashi b Dragon Lee, Sangre Azteca, Valiente
Rudos took the last two. Virus shoved Dragon Lee into the ref, with everyone else out of the ring. Lee kicked at Virus, Virus caught it, spun Lee onto the middle rope, and kicked the rope to foul Lee, then got the three count.
4) Marcela b Amapola [CMLL WOMEN]
Moved up a slot on the card. Seconds were Skandalo (who always ends up doing this) and Pegasso. Amapola won the first with a Devil’s Wings, Marcela took the second with an Alejandrina variant, and the third with her Michinoku driver.
5) Blue Panther, Jushin Lyger, Rush DQ Felino, Mr. Niebla, Negro Casas
Tecnicos took 1/3. Negro had Panther beat with a cross armbreaker, but would not let go and was DQed for it. Panther needed medical help after the match.
6) Averno, Ephesto, Mephisto b Héctor Garza, La Sombra, Máscara Dorada
Straight falls for the rudos. They jumped Dorada as he entered, beat him up, won the first fall, then Mephisto gave Dorada top rope Devil’s Wings. Challenges were made to set up Dorada defending the CMLL Welterweight Championship next week.

Both Amapola and Ultimo Guerrero’s epic length title runs have ended in the last few months. The longest CMLL World branded title reign now is Ultimo Guerrero & Dragon Rojo’s tag team championship (which probably won’t change hands for a very long time.) The longest reigns of any active championship in CMLL are the Arena Coliseo Tag Team Titles (Stuka & Fuego) and the Mexican National Lightweight Title (Pierrothito), but both those are defended more like once a year. No seems quite sure how many defenses Amapola had – I swear JCR said “26” on Ras de Lona, only for Amapola to say “24” a few minutes later.

Alexis posted video of the Mephisto challenge to Dorada. Did not think that was where they were going.

Other News

Ras de Lona announced the CMLL bodybuilding contest for 11/24.

Also, Zacarias and Monito are now feuding over who’s more metrosexual.

They were strongly pushing Mephisto/Mascara Dorada on the show. Blue Panther and Los Casas talked about their feud quite a bit too. Both Stuka & Fuego and Niebla & Negro talked about facing each other in last week’s tag team tournament but did not seem to have any long term issues with each other.

Lucha Libre USA did post the Lizmark Jr. vs Shane Helms match. It’s in HD now, at least.

CMLL’s returning to Oaxaca in November. Atlantis & Ultimo Guerrero attended a press conference to hype up the card, which still included Mascarita Dorada on the card.

Black Terry Jr. posted video of Golden Magic vs Bestia 666 from Thursday: fall 1, fall 2, fall 3.

LuchaWorld has Alfredo reviewing this week’s AAA TV show, which I might finally get to after this post.

Lineups

CMLL (FRI) 11/04/2011 Arena Mexico
1) Metálico & Molotov vs Rayo Tapatío I & Rayo Tapatío II
2) Dragon Lee vs Virus [lightning]
3) Ángel de Oro, Blue Panther, Metro vs Negro Casas, Pólvora, Rey Escorpion
4) Felino, Mr. Águila, Volador Jr. vs Rey Bucanero, Terrible, Texano
5) Máscara Dorada vs Mephisto [CMLL WELTER]
6) Atlantis, Jushin Lyger, Shocker vs Dragón Rojo Jr., Mr. Niebla, Último Guerrero

Peste Negra all on the card, all in different matches. Same with the Guerreros. I am guessing the Peste Negra split is because they’re doing two different feuds at once but it’s still awkward. (And I’d make all title matches main events over random trios matches, but you know that by now.) Lightning match is interesting, though might not make TV.

10/29-30 lucha times

box

Pan Am games wrap Sunday. Televisa already has a lineup for next weekend up, and CMLL and AAA are back in the same spots they were at the beginning of the month (1 hour slots on Saturday.) That can still change, and they remain off this week. IWRG is also still off. The rest is not so clear.

One more complication: daylight savings starts in (most, but not all of) Mexico this weekend. It’ll have more of an effect next Saturday, but it’s worth keeping in mind if you’re checking the TVCDeportes feed for show this week. Everyone’s back in sync next Sunday.

Lucha Libre USA is not on the schedule. They’ve creatively explained this on their Facebook account by saying they’ve chosen to go on hiatus to find a “more convivent viewing experience.” The Saturday 10AM time slot is so much of a problem, it’s exactly when they’ll be posting Lizmark vs Shane Helms (which would’ve been the main event of this week’s show) onto the same Facebook page.

Ras de Lona is on this week. Tercera Caida should be back.

52MX: would seem to be the tag team tournament for the entire hour, seems more likely the airing the segunda and main event here.

LATV: the Silueta/Ray match and other stuff not as interesting.

TF: Pierrtohito vs Bam Bam in a singles match, and Generaction Dorada vs Alebrije/Mephisto/Aguila

———-

AAA: The list of AAA affiliates of the week are here. Their time slot is 3 hours this week, so it’s almost certainly an edited version of Heroes Inmortales; you probably don’t need to see it again if you’ve seen it on this site.

FOX: Delta/Maya/Valiente vs Euforia/Signo/Virus + Avernos vs Garza/Sombra/Dorada

C3: Mascara/Garza/Porky vs TRT, Guerreros vs Justicieros

ACM: Copa Arena Monterrey?

Puebla & PdM: Back? Not back? TVC Deportes listings are not updated yet, but they should be back on the schedule.
