CMLL Guerreros del Ring on 52MX #242 (07/10/2010)

what is this hold?

Arena Coliseo, 07/04/2010

Fabián el Gitano, Pegasso, Rey Cometa vs Hooligan, Nitro, Skándalo: about as one sided as I’ve seen for the Tuareg, which is just randomness. Always disappointing when a Pegasso/Rey Cometa match isn’t actually a showcase for them.

The big concern here is the image on the left. That’s the devastating move which caused Fabian el Gitano to lose the match, and I’m still not sure how he was being hurt.

Hijo del Fantasma, Metro, Toscano vs Ephesto, Texano, Vangelis: Nothing much, a walk thru semimain. Remember when we thought Fantasma might be the one who is beating Lyger for the title? Not so much at the moment.

CMLL (SUN) 07/25 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara [Fuego en el Ring]
1) Nocturno DCO El Divino
2) Idolo & Virgo b León Blanco & Metalik
3) Gallo & Hierro DQ Drago & Ebola
4) Shigeo Okumura & Yoshihashi b Delta & Valiente
5) Brazo de Plata, La Máscara, Máximo DQ Atlantis, Terrible, Texano Jr.

Texano replaced Negro Casas, out with an injury. Negro is not listed anywhere until Friday, so he should have some rest to get better. I wonder what they’d do with the Universal tournament if one of the champions was hurt? In this match, Atlantis faked a foul in the second fall, and Maximo did the same in the third.

Yoshihashi was here, instead of in Mexico City. They’ve kept him out of DF since early in the month. Usually not a good sign.

Ebola caused his team to lose by DQ but still challenged Gallo for a Occidente Light Heavyweight title shot next week. Gallo accepted. This’ll be his first defense.

Dos de Tres was covering the show live, and then suddenly they weren’t. Internet problems, I guess.

Psycho Circus win again, this time with Konnan taking the pin after Cibernetico hit him with a tray that Jennifer Blake had brought to the ring. It was all quickly shrugged off when Los Perros (Perro Jr. and unnamed Perros) showed up to make their alliance with Dorian and Konnan official. This is weird to me, because the AAA TV I watched this weekend  (taped over a month ago), had the Legion and the Perros working together. Things just move slow in Mexico.

Semimain was a crowd brawl. Hijo de Tirantes turned up to attack Piero, but Wagner laid out Tirantes and set up for the Wagner Driver. Vampiro attacked him, and the rudos beat up Tiger for the win.

Tercera ended with Chris Stone turning on Elegido and helping the rudos. AAA’s recap doesn’t mention this. I dunno. It’s late, we’re all tired. No sign of Alan. My new theory is Elegido is so involved in the video game promotion, they thought they needed him to get back on TV, and Chris Stone is more than willing to lose his hair for the cause.

Cinthia pinned Sexi Star and Mini Histeria pinned Octagoncito, both of which would seem to set up title matches if we didn’t know the next half month of TV.
