02/13-15 Lucha Times

box

AAA-US: first taping of ’10. Cibernetico teams with Clowns for the first time, plus the WagnerManiacos versus Crazy/Parka/Laredo, and the Vipers vs La Secta

52MX: Azteca/Fabian/Guerrero vs Tuareg, Pesta Negra vs Fantasma/Sombra/Sagrado

IWRG: (if it airs!) Mascara/Mascara/Veneno vs Angelico/Pantera/Rayman, plus the four way cage match

—–

CMLL: looks like an 1h30m slot right now (but don’t believe until Saturday), which would mean top 3 again. You know the main event.

AAA-MEX: This past Friday’s main event, with WagnerManiacos vs Mesias/Parka/Latin, and Lasser Boy’s debut. Of note, AAA says they’ll always be on from 4-6p (CT) from now on. It’d be nice if it actually worked out that way, and I’m sure they’ve be told that’s been the case, but…

CMLL-FOX: Looks like 11:30am this week. Rush/Stuka/Valiente vs Dragon/Misterioso/Okumura, and Guerreros vs Porky/Garza/Mistico

C3: Terrible/Texano/Vangelis vs Dorada/Sagrado/Shocker, but you should tune in for the Panther/Metro/Feugo vs Raciel/Okumura/Virus semimain.

Puebla: not actually listed on the TVC Deportes schedule as I type this, so not totally sure when/if it’ll air. If there’s only four matches, the Fabian/Rouge/Apocalipsis trio is sure to be cut.

Monterrey: Silver Star/Hator, again?

Perros: last week was 1&4, so maybe this’ll be 2&5? That’d be the minis match and Familia de Tijuana vs Groon/Wagner/Oriental.

CMLL-TFN: Have we given up on this? This week should have the Casas family teaming up against the not-yet-Super Sky Team. This show is so dated, Dos Jr., Lizmark Jr. and Heavy Metal are all involved.

  1. Sure enough, tvguide.com does list AAA as being 2+ hrs in Mexico. But it makes total sense that they will have to have a fixed two-hour slot from now on. If Telerisa puts AAA on after soccer instead of before it, it will work out.

  2. I haven’t given up on Lucha on TFN but I have seen it all. I forgot to record on Monday but am recording the repeat and now set it to automatically record every Monday airing.

EXCITED FOR C3! BLUE BLUE BLUE VS NEO!

  3. According to my notes, this week’s CMLL on TFN would have featured:

    1. Virus vs Mascara Purpura (Lightning)
    2. Mephisto & Averno vs Volador Jr & La Sombra (CMLL Tag Titles)

Nothing to the lightning match, but the Tag Titles match is pretty epic.

    This coming Monday should be:

    1. Blue Panther, Hector Garza & Dos Caras Jr vs El Hijo Del Lizmark, Mephisto & Averno
    2. La Sombra, Volador Jr & Mistico vs Heavy Metal, Mr Niebla & Negro Casas

  4. Should be noted the Purpura/Virus match aired unedited. When it aired on FSE a year ago they cut out the first 2 minutes.

  5. TFN aired what was expected. But since it’s my job to point out things nobody else cares about I should mention this weird thing…

The footage seems to be master tapes from CMLL themselves. Not only b/c the matches are unedited but also b/c the fancy shmancy (read: useless) Televisa editing is missing. For example: This week’s spot where all three tecnicos went to the top rope and did moonsaults – Sombra/Volador to the outside and Mistico into the ring. On the original Mexico version they switched to a split screen which made the spot look very unspectacular. On TFN they stayed with the wideshot so it looked unreal.

Also, the commentators are getting better and growing on me.
