Not on the schedule, but starting this week, CMLL will air on The Fight Network in Canada. Looks like a one hour slot and a lot of reairs. It’s not new shows – most likely, it’s the same run of tapes from 2008-2009 that have turned up in France and England already. I guess we find out on Monday.
AAA-US: part 2 of TripleMania. I assume the Clowns/Air Force match isn’t airing this time either.
52MX: Angels/Fabian vs Tigers/Skandalo. Almost a good match there. Plus Poder Mexica faces Rush, Toscano, and Sagrado. Watch that match and see if you can still tell me Sagrado’s the disappointment.
IWRG-TF: IF A NEW EPISODE ACTUALLY AIRED, this would be the second half of the IWRG tag tournament, plus a Diablo/Loco vs Terry/Cerebro match. It’d be nice to finally get a Gringo Loco match.

CMLL: looks to be a few minutes shorter than usual, so maybe only the tournament here?
AAA-MEX: Listed as two hours, so the minis are getting cut from the first taping of the year. Main event is Cibernetico/Psycho Clowns vs Legion
CMLL-FOX: Minis! Plus Negro/Terrible/Texano vs Plata/Garza/Fantasma. On at 9AM this week.
C3: top 4 includes more Sombra vs Felino. I forget to list this, but this show does reair very early on Monday mornings, in case a recording goes wrong again.
Puebla: More Sombra(/Volador) vs Felino(/Niebla)
ACM: Hijo del Ninja/Furor. I legit recorded this, but it randomly stopped recording at 22 early. Here’s what I got, if you want it, and I’ll keep trying.
IWRG-TVD: maybe it’ll be Perros? TVC Deportes doesn’t have listings up for February.

Yep, we’ll find out Monday. I’m hoping for some unaired/unedited matches since these would be the CMLL official copies.
The problem with the C3 repeat is it airs at a time when the Juarez feed is local stuff so you can only catch the C3 repeat on the realplayer link and can’t record realplayer with VLC.
Where’s the box?
CMLL on TFN aired:
5) Héctor Garza, Hijo del Fantasma, La Máscara b Heavy Metal, Terrible, Texano Jr. *
6) La Sombra, Místico, Volador Jr. b Averno, Ephesto, Mephisto *
Taped 1/9/09 @ Arena Mexico.
The announcers were English (as in Britain English) so the network obviously just paid for the rights to re-air it. They are HORRIBLE. I can let them get away with not being able to pronounce any names but they really don’t have a clue about what they are watching. Long gaps where neither guy says anything, no emotion whatsoever and they didn’t even bother to research anything except the names so they have no idea about finishing moves/storylines/etc. It’d be like asking me to do commentary for the Super Bowl.
At least it’s somewhat new footage and not 2007/2008 stuff.
@Rob: Thanks! I need to add this and the Perros TVCDeportes
I know one of the announcers is actually on twitter – @stewstyle – because I saw a post where he was as surprised they were airing on tFN as everyone else.
Hey fellas,
Yes, I’m one of the commentators on the CMLL you’re watching on TFN, and cubs is absolutely right, I had no idea it was airing there until this past weekend.
As you may know, there’s a French company called Fighting Spirit Productions that have got the deal with CMLL for international TV distribution. They record their own commentary for airing on French channel Jimmy, and outsource to our production house in the UK for English language commentary. What they do with it after we ship it back to them is up to them. When we first started (our first week of TV had the 75th Anniversary show with Panther losing his mask) we honestly had no idea where any of it may end up airing. We were last to know when it aired on BT Vision in the UK (a very minor platform), and last to know it was airing on TFN in Canada.
Rob, I’m not going to mount a defense of my commentary, as you’re entitled to your opinions, and as a CMLL fan, you’re obviously very protective of it. That’s cool. However, I can assure you that I *do* do research for the show – and I do try to keep informed of storylines/moves etc. In fact, this very site is my #1 go-to place for that sort of info, along with the luchawiki. I do try to use correct move names for signature spots, and will drop in historical factlets and such when it makes sense to do so…. so please don’t think I’m deliberately half-assing anything. I’m very pleased and proud to be doing this, and I’ll continue to get better as the gig goes on. Please do advise me on the mispronunciations too.
One thing I will say though, is that the matches on the show are picked/influenced by the French office, as far as I know. In the early days of the show, we almost always had the top two matches of Arena Mexico every week. It later became the case – at the request of the French office, I believe, because things were samey – that some lower card stuff is shown too, so more recently we’ll get lightning matches, luchadoras matches and mini matches, and sometimes miss one of the top two matches entirely. That can be quite annoying for me as we sometimes end up talking about and hyping something that we end up not seeing, because on that specific week, we’re “treated” to a Mictlan lightning match instead of whatever the actual main event was that week. The biggest annoyance for me on that respect was that we never got to see the Villano V unmask at the hands of Ultimo Guerrero last year on Dos Leyendas.
FYI, the most recent show we’ve done was 6/12/09, but we’ve got a new batch of 10 episodes delivered as of yesterday. Plan is to record commentary for those next week.
