taped 12/07, didn’t air in the US
Put the Sombra/Ephesto on the watch list. For me, already selling people on Sombra, this was more a revelation about Ephesto. I’ve not been really high on him, but he was such the great veteran leading a youngster, turning it from a collection of high spots to an actual competition.
The video (now that it’s finally all up) can sell you more on the match than I can.
The minis match was cut down to little time. This is going to sound strange, given what I’ve said before, but there is a point where, if a match is going to be given so little time anyway, maybe they would’ve made better use of the 3 segments in hyping the main event. This was going to be a one match show either way.

Well DAMN, that was my favorite match this year. Wayyyy better than those Blue Panther matches people trying to convince me on.
Both guys look great and if CMLL doesn’t push Sombra to the top of the card after this match they must deserve the bad shit that happens to them.
Thanks for posting this Cubs.
*L* The irony of your comments being if Efesto was in AAA, he’d be a Viper going nowhere and getting shitty bookings. If Sombra was in AAA, he’d be a Fuerza Aerea member getting killed every week and working opening matches.
I was going to say something but then I remember this guy name Mr.Niebla. Being a main eventer in CMLL is the same as being a midcarder in AAA.
Thanks for the upload, great match! The backbump Ephisto took on the apron was brutal but he made Sombra pay for it by not catching him immediately after.
@USAUSA1: You’re right, Mr. Niebla was just a midcarder in AAA.

Being a huge AAA fan you should know those are all tapings that Niebla main evented. If you want to look closer you’ll even notice the only time Niebla wasn’t in the main event was when Ciber/Mesias were doing their thing. One could deduce that Niebla was one of the main guys they turned to when Ciber/Mesias weren’t around.
* = matches vs Abismo which were the main attraction but didn’t go on last b/c of politics.
** = Rey De Reyes finals which didn’t go on last but was the big match of the show.
Owned or served? Which do you prefer?
It’s funny to hear that Ephesto’s theme song is “Mein Teil” since it is a song about the true story of an homosexual guy who cooked and ate the penis of his boyfriend.
By the way, the download link is the AAA show, not the CMLL FSE show.
Now that they are doing this “Lightning” match on Friday’s, airing on Fox Sports, I bet the tercera will go two falls regularly for tv purposes. That’s what they did with the women’s match, and we’ll see if it holds up.
I don’t think CMLL thinks things out that much so this was probably a one-time only deal. We’ll find out next week. They have a 2 fall match in the mini’s from Sunday if that’s the feud they want to push.
I wonder if the women’s match on 12/26 also went just 2 falls? Although it looks like they’re building a Princesa Blanca vs. Marcela feud at the same time.
Well, FSE just put up another grid, and it shows no CMLL on 1/11. Clearly, they have time, as UFC is getting repeats now. CMLL’s status on FSE has never been this bad.
