08/22: Mexico, lineups

CMLL (FRI) 08/22 Arena Mexico [Ovaciones, superluchas, ESTO]
1) Hijo del Faraon & Trueno b Puma King & Tiger Kid
2) Amapola, Hiroka, Princesa Sujei b Lady Apache, Marcela, Sahori
3) La Sombra, Mictlán, Volador Jr. b Dragon Rojo Jr., Ephesto, Misterioso II
4) Dr. Wagner Jr., Marco Corelone, Shocker b Terrible, Texano Jr., Villano IV
5) Blue Panther, Héctor Garza, Místico b Mr. Niebla, Negro Casas, Último Guerrero

Two straight falls for the tecnicos in the main event. Rudos got DQed for excessive violence in the first, and Panther caught UG with an armbar in the second. In a very random moment, Terrible and Texano ran in after the match and beat up Garza (who was already hurt during the match). Sounds like they’re in a hurry to build something.

Villano IV continues to fill in for Villano V, and V4 and Dr. Wagner exchanged mask vs mask challenges after the match. We’re apparently supposed to take this seriously, because CMLL mentions it on their website. Seems more like we’re getting a multiman match every day.

The third and the second match were also straight fall wins.

Rodolfo Ruiz, Tauro, Audaz and Cien Caras were honored at the show.

El Pais writes about the CMLL stop in Marbella. They note that most of the people attending, at least for this show, are immgrants from Latin America.

4) Alex Koslov, La Sombra, Valiente vs Euforia, Nosferatu, Sangre Azteca
5) Dos Caras Jr., Héctor Garza, Shocker vs Heavy Metal, Mr. Niebla, Negro Casas

The guys back from Spain are right back into the grind.

5) Mictlán vs Dragon Rojo Jr. [mask]

Felino’s a rudo? Huh. I would’ve expected the other trios match to go on top.

Oh, Mexico, don’t ever change.

It surprises me that they’re charging $35 for ringside, when this show clearly is not about making any money.

CMLL (FRI) 08/22 Arena Mexico
1) Puma King & Tiger Kid vs Hijo del Faraon & Trueno
2) Lady Apache, Marcela, Sahori vs Amapola, Hiroka, Princesa Sujei
3) Dragon Rojo Jr., Ephesto, Misterioso II vs La Sombra, Mictlán, Volador Jr.
4) Dr. Wagner Jr., Marco Corelone, Shocker vs Terrible, Texano Jr., Villano V
5) Blue Panther, Héctor Garza, Místico vs Mr. Niebla, Negro Casas, Último Guerrero

The big two matches for next week are hyped up in the tercera and segunda. You think they could have at least wedged the men up in a semimain or main this week, but I think that tells you how they feel about it. The build is instead around Mistico’s big return. Ovaciones has a generic preview, noting Mistico and Niebla wrestling on after breaking hsi finger. ESTO’s preview doesn’t seem to have it.

CMLL (MON) 08/25 Arena Puebla
1) Blue Center & Lestat vs Karisma & Mr. Rafaga
2) Centella de Oro & Tigre Rojo vs Espiritu Maligno & Zigma
3) Axel vs Hijo del Faraon, Astro Boy, Hijo del Fantasma, Metalik, Ángel Azteca Jr., Dragon Rojo Jr., Vangelis, Bronco, Skandalo, Tiger Kid, Puma King [Gen75, ciber]

The Gladiatores has video interviews with Mr. Niebla, Black Spirit and the head of ENESMA.

KrisZ’s lucha notes and Robert on the 02/03/05 taping

08/21: Queretaro, Spain, DTU

CMLL (TUE) 08/19 Arena Queretaro
4) Alex Koslov & La Sombra b Dragon Rojo Jr. & Principe Valiente Jr.
5) Místico & Terrible DQ Dr. Wagner Jr. & Texano Jr. [Relevos Increíbles]

SoloLuchas: 4

In the big main event battle of guys with much fan support, the crowd actually was not split – they cheered for Texano’s team over Terrible’s. Match came down to Wagner and Mistico, and Wagner fouled Mistico and punched the referees. Perros beat up both of them after the match.

Alex reversed a cradle on Dragon Rojo for the win.

CMLL (TUE) 08/19 Plaza de Toros Alicante, Alicante, Spain [ESTO]
1) Metálico & Molotov b Artillero & Súper Comando
2) Hooligan, Loco Max, Nitro b Astro Boy, Fabián el Gitano, Metalik
3) Flash, Stuka Jr., Valiente b Arkangel de la Muerte, Damián 666, Virus
4) Felino, Heavy Metal, Máximo DQ Euforia, Mr. Águila, Nosferatu
5) Dos Caras Jr., La Máscara, Lizmark Jr. Hijo de Fantasma b Atlantis, Dos Caras Jr. Lizmark Jr., Olímpico

I can not believe we’re three for three for Spain results, considering all the places in Mexico I don’t get results. This show drew 1,200 people, which does not sound good. Interesting that they’re mixing up the lineups each night, and which guys are on top.

DTU (SAT) 09/06 Bar Litros [DTU]
1) Amo de la Noche vs Charly X, Aguila Misterio, Rockero
2) King Cobra & Urgos vs Demoledor & Seputurero
3) Dance Boy vs Relampago de Fuego, Black Fire, Demente Xtreme, Muerte Bucanero, Talaxys, Hormiga, Money Pack, Konamy, Violenco Jack, Angel o Demonio, Juan el Ranchero
4) Danger vs Paranoiko, Ragade, Markabre [DTU]
5) Crazy Boy & Ultimo Gladiador vs Jack Evans & Teddy Hart and Aero Boy & Pesadilla

Jack & Teddy working a DTU show is the most obvious thing either. Semmain is a three way, with one of the not-Danger guys being eliminated before hand in a match in Guadalajara.

(Reforma via Jazzo) Villano V is not high on turning his mask match with Panther into a three way with UG. He feels either the winner of the mask match should get to decide who they want to face next, or perhaps it should be a parajes increible with Atlantis/V5 vs Panther/UG, with the losing team squaring off. That sounds incredible likely. Whatever it is, V5 wants to it to be one man vs one man when it comes down to the mask, because that’s what was on the contract.

(Milenio) CMLL wrestler are supposed to work the Banda Ancha music festival in Monterrey.

Just mentioned Dominican Republician lucha libre yesterday, and today, there’s a story about a new promotion starting up in Santo Domingo. Sounds like they’re Puerto Rico influenced.

08/23-25 Lucha Times

chart

FS: Hair match for sure, and I’m thinking the women’s trios…

52MX: because this show should get the Trios Champs vs Perros and the main event

AAA-US: Vampiro vs Mesias, with 10 more minutes for meaningless hardcore spots. Hart Foundation vs Hermandad. Hell Brothers vs FdT. Parka/Octagon vs Electro/Kenzo in a bull terrier rematch from the match last year at Guerra de Titanes that no one was really excited about then. I didn’t realize how wretched this taping was until now, good thing I’m busy Saturday

—–

CMLL: all I know is the show is listed on Televisa’s site for a 1h45m slot, which would mean top 3.

AAA-MEX: and this is back to 3 hours for the first time in a couple weeks. Note the early start time. Chessman/Ricky vs Jack/Teddy should be something.

CTres: Ultimo Guerrero just wants to fight a Villano. Any Villano. V3 is just dying to come back and get involved in this.
