CMLL FSE #97 (06/22)

taped 06/08

I so want to see Ohara vs Goku. Wait, have we seen them in the same place at the same time? HMMM. Then again, it’s sure not like Ohara to wear a mask…

Caifan wasn’t bad, but didn’t make a huge impression here. Axel is a far more interesting story than wrestler.

At this point in time, five days before the cage match, they sure weren’t even teasing a Negro rudo turn yet – they were more teasing a Damian/Negro battle, actually.

  1. I wish Santo vs. Axel in a mask match would happen, but there’s too much bad blood. Axel is someone who would be better off cashing in on his mask vs. Santo. He’d make more in one night than if he worked two shots a week for the rest of his life.

  2. @luchalibrelive!: Unless the whole build of the match was everyone calling Axel a fraud and Santo the virtuous defender of his father’s name (you know, exactly how it plays out in Hijo del Santo’s mind), there’s no chance it could happen. And even then, I’m not sure Santo would want to give Axel the payday.

  3. Match wasn’t too bad overall, but yeah, Axxel kinda sucked in this one.

I don’t hate on Ohara as much as others, but he really needs to concentrate a little more on the ringwork and less on the ott character theatrics. He tries too hard to ham it up, and it just looks silly. Especially when he just looks like an ordinary, unremarkable japanese guy who you’d see in the street.

And with Mictlan, a good appearance is one where he manages to stay out the way for the most part, before hitting his only dive. That’s about the best you can hope for for him.

I wonder where Caifan has disappeared to, i don’t think he’s been booked apart from that match, and if he has, it’s been a single appearance at most.

Did anyone check out Sundays photos this week? D’you think Sangre was busting out his old run-up the-ropes plancha dive that he used once or twice back when he was good/worked hard? He certainly wasn’t coming off a turnbuckle like normal.

And i haven’t been on for most of the week -so was the C3 opener fun, and does anyone know if the coliseo tag final aired on GdR/FSE Mex -and if so, how was the match…. and the editing?

  4. @Henrik: They seem to be restricting Mictlan in all his recent matches I’ve seen so let’s hope it’s a permanent thing and they are only keeping him around for Texano’s sake but don’t want him hurting anyone.

Caifan flew away to wherever Hechicero, Cadetradtico, Soberano and the other guy are.

Looks like a regular Sangre plancha. Seen him hit it 2 or 3 times on the C3 DVD’s I’m going through. He did an assisted corkscrew on the 2/29 Arena Mex show… does that count as him being motivated?:)

C3 opener was pretty edited, even took out Sensei’s dive only to show a replay after the pinfall. Nothing special.

I heard the Stuka Jr./Flash match main evented their FSE broadcast and the two matches that took place after it on the live show aired on GdR this past week so either the Metalik tercera made the same show (it was reported to be a short match) or the mini’s tag from Arena Mex snuck on which was another short match. Guess we’ll find out this weekend unless Chui saw and/or remembers.

  5. @Rob: FSE had ladies and Stuka Jr and Euforia’s match.

Before I forget, the only of note from CMLL TV last Saturday is that Morales said Stuka is the disciple of… Adolf Hitler… I guess CMLL is sleeping with the enemy.

  6. @xuisaw: hehehehe Not only that but on an episode a couple of weeks back they said Vaneglis had come to CMLL straight from a concentration camp! I smell a feeeeeeeeeud!
