Various boring database notes

I’ve been adding lots of wrestlers to the database, and I want to think Robert Pasa for helping a lot with tracking down pictures.

Both the Wrestling Cards and the Events sections – now on the sidebar! – are supposed to be automatically updated every night while I’m sleeping. It’s not exactly happening yet, but that’s the general idea; I’m not rewriting them every day or anything crazy like that.

In case you were wondering, everyone who appears to be a regular gets a profile page, as does anyone who wrestles in Arena Mexico or in a non-dark Arena Coliseo match, or show up frequently on AAA or IWRG tapings, and anyone else who shows up a lot and can easily find a picture.

Most Appearances Without A Card Page:

Batman 48
Silver Star 46
Kid Tiger 41
Diluvio Negro I 40
Gato Volador 40
Black Jaguar 38
Vaquero Romo 38
Antaris 34
Venum 34
Diluvio Negro II 33

A lot of Monterrey area indy guys. The Diluvio Negro’s are really my comparison – they’re always main eventing the indy cards with just indy wrestlers and I don’t think that’ll ever change, so you must be more important than them to get on profile page of your own.

I’m going to start looking thru tape lists, but outside of what I find there, I think I’ve pretty much got every event I’m going to get for 2005. Before I go back any farther, I’d like to start doing similar lists of TV Episodes (and maybe even allow for comp tapes) – I figure most people would use the match finder to find out if/when Wrestler A and Wrestler B fought, and usually it’s because you want to see the TV episode it happened. That’d help.

Suggestions, corrections, ideas for the sprawling database are always appreciated.

I really ought to update that version page. Right after I update the thecubsfan.com page, ahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

Updated 01/29 Congress Lineup

There’s a change to this Sunday’s Congress Theatre show.

FMLL (SUN) 01/29 Congress Theatre, Chicago IL Lineup
1) Silueta Azul vs Great Tojo
2) Angel de la Muerte, Mascara de Jade vs Aguila Tapatia, Angel Dorado
3) Lupillo, Rayo Lazer, SWAT Kat vs Coco Negro, Coco Verde, Guerrerito del Futuro
4) Atomo, Piloto Suicida vs Aguila de America, Shamu Jr.
5) LA Park, Mistico vs Dr. Wagner Jr., Averno Rey Bucanero

(luchafan on CPW)

Uh, yea, that could work. Gosh.

Don’t forget the show in Waukegan on Saturday @ 5PM as well.

GdR #7, #8

I’m all caught up with Guerrero del Ring shows! I say yay, then look at my TiVo to see this line:

Lucha Libre (13)

So screwed.

GdR #7 (01/14): Cibernetico was good, trios was good – nothing great, but a pretty solid show. Overall, the 5-6-7 group is stronger than 2-3-4.

GdR #8 (01/21): Opening trios was not good, though Pierroth was trying. It’s weird how Hijo de Pierroth has no chemistry with his ‘dad’ despite teaming with him this long. The Averno/Mistico trio was better than the trio from the previous week.

01/24 news: Tajiri returns to Mexico, notes

(picture from LLI)

Tajiri returns to Mexico next week.

CMLL (TUE) 01/31 Arena Queretaro Lineup
1) Dr. Polux vs Espeluznante
2) Star Troon & Neurosis vs Angel Negro Jr. & Ursus
3) Dark Angel & India Sioux vs Princesa Sujei & Amapola
4) Ultimo Dragon & Tajiri vs Scorpio & Rambo
5) Atlantis, Ultimo Guerrero, Averno vs Hector Garza, Mr. Aguila, Damian 666

The lineup – from http://miarroba.com/libros/leer.php?id=161590 actually says Ultimo Guerrero is teaming with Tajiri, but that’s gotta be a typo. Tajiri is replacing Mr. Niebla.

Ovaciones has an Arena Aficion preview and a look ahead at this week’s Arena Mexico show. Atlantis and Perro Aguayo Jr. exchange words. Both men have plans! Atlantis says he’s going to continue running kid’s shows, next one on 04/30. I wonder which side he’ll be on?

This will also be India Sioux and Luna Magica’s first Arena Mexico appearances. They talk with India about this, and she sounds happy and surprised; this was one of her goals for ’06, but it doesn’t sound like she had much info that was about to come to fruition.

On Box Y Lucha’s forum, mortis666 has posted slightly delayed Arena Coliseo results from 10/01/1978. No, Rayo or Universo did not main event, though Sangre Chicana did wrestle.

The Box Y Lucha chat with Octagon has been pushed back a week.
