Rosters Added

I was going to do one of those grand monologues where I write for fifteen minutes about the logical reasoning behind one of my projects, but then I figured I never like how those bits sound and no one wants to hear it, so I should just skip to the part where I show you what I did.

WHAT I DID:

At these links, I’ve got picto-rosters of AAA, CMLL, and IWRG. There’s also lists of champions at the main roster page, a list of people I don’t currently have a picture for, features I’m planing to add next, and some stuff for down the road.

As always, the fuel for these projects are my own time/interested and your feedback. Post a comment below, or e-mail with features you think need to be added.

07/30 news

CMLL (FRI) 07/29 Arena Mexico Results [ova/O’Campo]
1) Neutron & StarMAN b Caligurla & Artillero
2) Dark Angel & Princesa Sugeith DQ Amapola & La Nazi
Sugeith had Amapola about to be finished off, and La Nazi broke it up, despite being already eliminated.
3) La Mascara won Block A of the G1 (Junior) spot tournament in an 8 man cibernetico. Other participants, in order of elimination, were: Apocalypsis, Arkangel, Tony Rivera, Loco Max, Virus, Maximo, Sangre Azteca.
Sangre was the last one left. Mascara faces the winner of next week’s cibernetico
4) Universo 2000, Apolo Dantes, Mascara Magica b Perro Aguayo, Hector Garza, Pierroth
Again the rudos didn’t get along. Again Perro and Universo challenged each other for a hair match.
5) GdI (Ultimo, Rey, Olimpico) b Mistico, Atlantis, Blue Panthers
Rudos took apart the tecnicos in the last fall, with much mask ripping. Rey ripped off Atlantis’ mask, pinned him with feet on the rope, and challenged him for a shot at the NWA MW belt. Huh.

The eight men in Block B:
Volador Jr.
Safari
Neutron
Nitro
Dr. X
Texano Jr.
Kronos
Leono

No Dos Caras Jr.

They seem to be picking favored sons, so one would think Volador or Kronos (although that pick would make this a little too transparent.) On the other hand, if they’re just giving to spot to La Mascara (and what a decision that would be), obviously Dr. X is getting the win so La Mascara can go over his rival on the way in.

As correctly predicted in e-mail, Super Lucha Grafico #2 focuses on Dark Angel. They showed off the cover before her match.

IWRG has a Marco Rivera/Starboy vs Dr. Cerebro/Cerebro hair/mask match on Thursday. There’s a Casas family (Negro, Felino, Heavy Metal) vs Mendoza family (Villano III, Villano IV, Villano V) match in Arena Lopez Mateos on Saturday. We’ll get to complete lineups on Monday.

07/29 news

Not much today. Ovaciones is in Arena Mexico preview mode. Looks like Caligula will fill in for Super Comando on the opener.

They’ve added Rayo de Jalisco Jr. vs Canek as main event of the Sunday Coliseo show.

Emilio Charles is headed back to Guatemala next Saturday for a stint.

AAA show is tonight, as well. Ovaciones still thinks the loser of the AAA six man match is fighting midgets in a cage for his hair. It is so completely ridiculous, I hope they’re right.

I’ll have the G1 Part 1 results up this weekend.

Lucha Times

Mexican football moves the show around on Saturday; it’s a couple hours later on the east coast feed, and much alter on the west coast feed.

We should be getting the Mistico/Ultimo Guerrero match this week. Hope I didn’t just jinx it.

Sunday is the award winning AAA Rey de Reyes show. Though it’s more the “most worthless way to spend two hours of your time” sort of awards.

07/28 news

Ovaciones has an article, talking about the 63rd anniversary of the first time Rodolfo Guzman Huerta wrestled as Santo (which was actually a couple days ago.) El Hijo del Santo and Fantasma are working to have a Santo statue in Mexico City.

As far as el Hijo del Santo, he wrestled and beat Dr. Wagner Jr. in Tampico on Tuesday, via DQ when Wagner went for a low blow. Tomorrow, he’ll be in Cancun, teaming with Super Muneco to fight El Hijo del Diablo and Blue Demon Jr., and is also working on selling some watercolor and oil paintings he’s been working on. Santo is working on an Arena Mexico return for September, around the anniversary show and maybe for part of the Leyenda de Plata cibernetico.

Halcon.net #29 has interviews with CMLL rudo announcer Leobardo Magadan (he thinks the rudos are the only honest ones) and Princesa Sugieth (she’s a tiny bit nervous for her first Arena Mexico debut; Negro Casas saw her on a Solidaridad show, wanted her to tryout for CMLL, and was immediately put with Hector.) There’s an questionnaire with Super Comando, as well as the normal Arena Mexico, Arena Queretaro, and Arena Solidariad results (no LLF, oddly – no show this week?)

Tarzan vs Lizmark Jr. will main event Coliseo next Tuesday.

Vic’s got a recap of the Elektro/Bronco debut show.

CMLL.com is down because they’re exceeded their bandwidth. That’s what videos will do for you! (If they talk to their web people, they should be up soon. If they don’t, they’ll be up Monday. So think Monday.)

The Guapo U 2004 information is fixed. They’ve made more use of those guys than I figured at the time.

07/28 news

CMLL (MON) 07/25 Arena Puebla Results [KrisZ]
1) Sombra de Plata, Molotov, Zetta b Ares, Fuerza Tigre, Mister Rafaga
2) Tigre Rojo, Lestat, The Tiger DQ Escandalo, Espiritu Maligno, Toro Bill Jr.
3) Dark Angel, Amapola, Lady Warrior b Lady Apache, Marcela, India Sioux
So she did show. Huh.
4) Blue Demon, Hector Garza, Tarzan Boy, Olimpico b Mistico, Heavy Metal, Dr. Wagner, Dos Caras Jr.
5) Pierroth b Satanico [hair/hair]

CMLL (TUE) 07/26 Arena Coliseo Results [ova]
1) Pequeno Olimpico & Bam-Bam b Fire & Sombrita
2) Leono, Sombra de Plata, Sensei b Ramstein, Reyes Veloz, Mogur
3) Veneno, Dr. X, Arkangel b Metro, Kronos, Stuka Jr.
Rudos didn’t get along, but pulled it together.
4) Brazo de Plata, Bronco, Satanico b Emilio Charles, Okumura, Taguchi
Porky was in a throwback mode, wrestling in his 80’s gear and his 80’s stytle (less goofyness). Not sure there was an actual reason for it.
5) Tarzan Boy, Pierroth, Mascara 2000 b Hijo de Lizmark, Dos Caras Jr., Black Warrior
Tarzan low blowed Hijo de Lizmark

After that initial win over notUltimoDragon, Ultimo Guerrero jobbed in trios matches the rest of the tour. They may or may not actually be doing that mask match.

If you haven’t seen it, CMLL.com has modified it’s front page. If you click on those TV sets, you get a minute of action from last week’s shows (and the same song every time.) It’s a start.
