07/30: Coliseo, Monterrey, Neza

CMLL (SUN) 07/29 Arena Coliseo
1) Jeque & Vaquero b Sensei & Trueno
2) Metálico, Super Nova, Tigre Blanco b Apocalipsis, Dr. X, Ramstein
3) Amapola, La Nazi, Princesa Sujei b Dark Angel, Diana La Cazdora, Marcela
4) Misterioso II, Sangre Azteca, Virus b La Máscara, La Sombra, Tony Rivera
5) Atlantis, Olímpico, Tozcano b Alex Koslov, Marco Corelone, Negro Casas

Amapola beat Marcela again, so they agreed to a title match next week. In the semimain, Virus and Tony Rivera challenged each other to a hair match. That match apparently will actually happen, though it’s not clear if it’ll be this week or next. CMLL did post next Sunday’s card, but it’s the version with a placeholder dummy match instead of either singles match.

CMLL (SUN) 08/05 Arena Coliseo
1) Cadaver de Cielo I & Cadaver de Cielo II vs Anima del Convento I & Anima del Convento II
2) Angel Azteca Jr. & Molotov vs Vaquero & Zayco
3) Stuka Jr., Super Nova, Valiente vs Euforia, Nosferatu, Satanico
4) Heavy Metal, La Mascara, Maximo vs Averno, Mephisto, Sangre Azteca
5) Dos Caras Jr., Mistico, Volador Jr. vs Atlantis, Olimpico, Toscano

Ovaciones also complains about Jeque’s push.

indy (SUN) 07/29 Arena Coliseo Monterrey [rfc]
1) Aguila Extrema & Iron Extreme b Akido & Mercurio
2) Iron & Ramses b Barba Roja & Hijo del Pirata Morgan [super libre]
3) Alan, Rey Infernal, Super Calo b Chiva Rayada, Latin Boiler, Xtreme Tiger [bull terrier]
4) Hator & Monje Negro Jr. b Pirata Morgan & Pirata Morgan Jr. [seconds hair]
5) Antifaz & X-Pac b Intocable & Tinieblas Jr.

Fans got their heads shaved, not Arturo Rivera. As if there was going to be another finish.

CMLL (SAT) 07/28 Arena Neza
1) Bacteria & Sakura b ? & Rey Mariscal
2) Pequeño Violencia & Pierrothito b Electrico & Shockercito
3) Luna Magica & Sahori b La Seductora & Rosa Negra
4) Fabián el Gitano, La Máscara, Stuka Jr. DQ Hijo de Pierroth, Hirooki Goto, Shigeo Okumura
5) Místico, Sagrado, Volador Jr. b Averno, Ephesto, Mephisto

Pierroth Jr. fouled La Mascara in the semimain.

CMLL (SAT) 08/11 Ciudad Juarez
1) Sagrado & Volador Jr. vs Skandalo & Texano Jr.
2) Sangre Azteca vs Maximo [MEX WELTER]
3) Alex Koslov & Heavy Metal vs Olimpico & Terrible
4) Mistico & Negro Casas vs Averno & Dr. Wagner Jr.

Maximo’s a welterweight? He’s listed at 176 lb, weight limit is 172 – time for a diet! I know weight classes are fake, but I’m slightly worried about miscarriage of justice going down there.

I think Flecha lost his hair, though that box y lucha post doesn’t make it too clear.

El Manana has a photo of Felino and company practicing for their singing/dance contest. Just the picture is amusing. Did this air this week, or next week?

Mascarita Sagrada appears in rock group Kinky’s new video for “Uruapan Breaks.” Apparently, he’s a friend of theirs, but they met him thru mySpace, so I guess all the lucha mySpace profiles aren’t fake ones. I’ve only seen the first :30 of the video, but I can tell you it’s fantastic.

El Hijo del Santo is still in Spain, soon to wrestle Blue Demon Jr.

A reporter writes about his one match lucha libre career on OC Register. Over in the Daily Pilot (thanks to mikeinformer), Martin Marin of WPW talks about the time he wrestled an 80 minute trios match in the Yucatan. And then he caught a fish that was THIS big. Oh, you should’ve been there.

Magazines
Luchas 2000 #379 teases Wagner/UG and LA Park/Electroshock.

07/18: Coliseo, Guadalajara

CMLL (TUE) 07/17 Arena Coliseo [ova, cmll]
1) Caligula & Messala b Molotov & Sombra de Plata
2) Neutron, Stuka Jr., Super Nova b Arkangel, Loco Max, Nitro
3) Goto, Okumura, Virus b Felino, Mictlan, Valiente
4) Mini Damian 666 b Bam Bam
5) Mini Damian 666 b Mini Halloween
6) Bam Bam b Mini Halloween [hair]
7) Olimpico, Ultimo Guerrero, Universo 2000 b Dos Caras Jr., Mascara Sagrada, Sagrado

Main event finish had Ultimo sneak in a low blow on Dos, and Universo cover for the pin. Triangle was broken down into individual matches, like usual. Bam Bam beating Mini Halloween probably means this isn’t over – maybe they did this match off TV because the next one will be on TV? Ohara missed another show, something’s up there. Neutron still exists.

If you want to see highlights from last week’s show, they’re up at Azteca America’s site. This is what airs on the DeporTV America show.

CMLL (TUE) 07/24 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara
1) Neon vs Impostor
2) Quazar vs Azael
3) Metatron vs Exterminador
4) Magnum vs Infierno
5) Leon Blanco & Lider vs Asesino Negro & Egipcio
6) Valiente vs Virus
7) Blue Panther, Dr. Wagner Jr., Vampiro vs Cien Caras Jr., Mascara Ano 2000, Universo 2000

Valiente vs Virus is an outstanding concept.

AAA (SUN) 07/22 Arena Coliseo Monterrey
1) Aguila Extrema vs Mercurio
2) Iron, Ramses (Monterrey), Rey Infernal vs Barba Roja, Hijo del Pirata Morgan, Pirata Morgan Jr.
3) Billy Boy, Estrellita, Octagoncito vs Alan, Fabi Apache, Histeria
4) Octagon, Pirata Morgan, Tinieblas Jr. vs Antifaz, Hator, Monje Negro Jr.
5) Cibernetico & Zorro vs Ron Killings & X-Pac

Guerreros del Ring #96 has Fishman on the cover.

Noticias-Oaxaca has a bio of Angel Nazi.

Today’s eSdSLP AAA show article.

05/05: Mexico, lineups, GdR

CMLL (FRI) 05/04 Arena Mexico [Super Luchas, ovaciones, ESTO
1) Astro Boy & Stuka Jr. b Artillero & Super Comando
2) Euforia, Nosferatu, Satanico b La Mascara, Mictlan, Virus
3) Heavy Metal, Sagrado, Ultimo Dragon b Averno, Ephesto, Mephisto
4) Alex Koslov, Marco Corelone, Rey Bucanero b Atlantis, Sangre Azteca, Ultimo Guerrero
5) Marcela b Princesa Sujei [MEX WOMEN]
6) Hector Garza, Hijo del Perro Aguayo, Mr. Aguila b Dr. Wagner Jr., Negro Casas, Volador Jr.

Women’s match was longest of the night; Ocampo says it was the best. Wagner and Perro made challenges after their match. Virus turned on his teammates in the segunda – why was he even on the tecnico side?

Mistico did show up on the card to explain his injury, but he got booed – for not wrestling or because there were a lot of Perro fans. Perro Sr. was at the show, to help campaign to keep Perro Jr. on his reality show.

CMLL (TUE) 05/08 Arena Coliseo
1) Electrico & Fantasy vs Mini Damian 666 & Mini Halloween
2) Sensei, Starman, Trueno vs Arkangel, Jeque, Nitro
3) Ogun, Stuka Jr., Tony Rivera vs Loco Max, Misterioso II, Ohara
4) Damian 666, Halloween, Mr. Aguila vs Metro II, Mictlan, Sagrado
5) Atlantis, Jushin Liger, Ultimo Guerrero vs Dos Caras Jr., Hijo de Lizmark, Ultimo Dragon

This includes the injury changes for Leono (Ogun) and Maxmio (Metro II). Flash was subbed out for Treuno as well.

CMLL (FRI) 05/11 Arena Mexico
1) Brillante, Leono, Stuka Jr. vs Euforia, Nosferatu, Virus
2) Felino, Heavy Metal, Negro Casas vs Averno, Ephesto, Mephisto
3) Atlantis, Dos Caras Jr., Dr. Wagner Jr., Lizmark Jr., Olimpico, Rey Bucanero, Shocker, Ultimo Guerrero vs Alex Koslov, Goto, Jushin Liger, Marco Corelone, Minoru, Okumura, Pierroth, Ultimo Dragon [Gran Prix]

They usually run four matches on cibernetico weeks, but with no Mistico, there’s not an obvious missing feud. No Perros, but the guys who’d face him are booked elsewhere. Maybe a women’s match.

CMLL (SUN) 05/13 Arena Coliseo
1) Sensei & Trueno vs Artillero & Super Comando
2) Brillante, Leono, Tigre Metalico vs Loco Max, Mr. Mexico, Nitro
3) Lady Apache, Luna Magica, Marcela vs Amapola, Hiroka, Mima Shimoda
4) Felino, Heavy Metal, Sagrado vs Ephesto, Mephisto, Misterioso II
5) Dr. Wagner Jr., Negro Casas, Rey Bucanero vs Averno, Black Warrior, Ultimo Guerrero

Guess Liger is just working Tuesday to Saturday.

GdR #76 has
04/29 Mexico: Alex Koslov, Dr. Wagner Jr., Marco Corelone b Atlantis, Olimpico, Ultimo Guerrero
04/29 Mexico: Mistico b Black Warrior [NWA MIDDLE]

04/24: Coliseo, Vampiro, Mass at Arena Mexico

Last night’s Coliseo show was an odd one. Someone felt like booking angles, which is bizarre for a Tuesday show.

CMLL (TUE) 04/24 Arena Coliseo [ovaciones, cmll, DIOS @ box y lucha]
1) Rayo Tapatio I & Rayo Tapatio II DQ Caligula & Messala
2) Brillante, Stuka Jr., Tony Rivera b Artillero, Hooligan, Super Comando
3) Euforia, Loco Max, Nosferatu b Felino, Mictlan, Satanico
4) Maximo, Texano Jr., Virus DQ Goto, Ohara, Okumura
5) Alex Koslov, Negro Casas, Shocker b Atlantis, Tarzan Boy, Ultimo Guerrero

Alex submitted Atlantis in the main event. This is their fourth straight Tuesday opposing each other, and it sounds like it’ll be five, because Alex wants a shot at the NWA Light Heavyweight Title.

Maximo and Texano Jr. got ramped up for their big title defense on Sunday…by turning on each other! It looks like Maximo got a five man beating, with both Texano and Virus attacking him (which someone meant they won by DQ, but never mind.) No idea why – Ovaciones mentions “miscommunication”, and hints we’re already headed to a Virus/Maximo hair match. Sagrado/Texano/Maximo have zero chance of retaining the Mexican trios belts on Sunday.

In the tercera, Satanico returned to do rudo side on a permanent basis, betraying Mictlan and Felino to help his new students (Eufora and Nosferatu.) After the match, the Nuevo Nuevo Nuevo Infernales beat up Loco Max for good measure.

Caligula yanked one of the Tapatios masks. Stuka beat Super Comando.

CMLL (TUE) 05/01 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara
1) Thunder Boy vs Milenio
2) Casanova vs Fraile de la Muerte
3) Idolo vs Mr. Trueno
4) Evola vs Danger
5) Leon Blanco vs Egipcio
6) Gallo, Magnum, Stuka vs Malefico, Mascara Magica, Toxico
7) Rayman & Vampiro vs Black Warrior & Eclipse

So he’s back as a tecnico. Good to know.

(El Porvenir) Arena Mexico is often called the cathederal of Lucha Libre. This Saturday, it’s going to be a stand in church. As far as I can tell from the article, they’re having a religion convention at the normal huge church in town. It wraps up on Sunday, but theyr’e not going to be able to hold Saturday mass there as a result, and so they’re renting out Arena Mexico. To cover the rent, they’re selling tickets to church – ringside tickets are 50 pesos ($4.55US). I hope service is randomly interrupted by a Mistico chant.

This means Arena Mexico will have an event three straight days (normal Arena Mexico, mass, special show on Sunday), and also three Saturdays in a row (mass, Luchas 2000, Toryumon)

AAA’s preview of Friday’s taping including Crazy Boy talking about extreme wrestling.

(Suburban Chicago News) About 1.5 hour away from me, in Waukegan, IL, the library will be celebrating Day of the Kid by bringing in Espectro and La Parkita (listed here as brothers) to talk about life as lucha libre wrestler. Those pictures sure look familiar.

(Beaumont Journal) Beaumont, TX’s first ever Cinco de Mayo festival will include some lucha libre matches; main event is Pentagon Black/Xochitl Hamada vs Sicodelico Jr./Miss Vicky. Tickets are $15-$25 for the whole event, including a music peformance which seems to be the main act. You can get the tickets around town, and at ticketmaster.com

El Sol de Tampico has a obit for wrestler Alejandro Montana.

IWRG’s site is still down. So is El Halcon’s.

03/15: Naucalpan, Neza

Ovaciones: Black Warrior and his 17 year old son were driving up to an ATM, when another car pulled up beside them, and started hollering insults at him and his son – just mostly because Black Warrior is a rudo. There were three people in the other card – one was disabled – and in between yelling, they also managed to damage Black Warrior’s car. Warrior eventually got them to calm down, but is still hoping they’ll pay for the car damage.

IWRG (SUN) 03/18 Arena Naucalpan
0) Celestial vs Diablo Jr.
1) Samba & Venom vs Black Jaguar & Vampiro Metalico
2) Kai, Kid Tiger, Yamato vs Black Jaguar, Macho II, Supremo Jr.
3) Efinge, Freelance, Suicida vs Black Terry, Trauma II, Truama I
4) El Dandy vs Pierroth Jr., Cerebro Negro, Villano III, Veneno, Alex Koslov, Dr. Cerebro, Mascara Ano 2000 Jr., Fantasma de la Opera, Bestia Salvaje [MEX LH, mask, hair, IWRG IC WELTER]

That’s a ten way cage match. I meant to post this one in the news yesterday, but I wasn’t sure if Cerebro Negro was Welterweight or Middleweight champ, so I went to the wiki to check, and things fell off a cliff from there.

CMLL (SUN) 03/11 Arena Neza
1) Intrepid & Jaguar Doradgo b Cibelius & Guardian de la Noche
2) ChicoChe & Piel Roja b Black Danger & Black Heart
3) Chac-Mol, Eskar, Estrueno b Angel Negro, Destroyer, Samy Rivera
4) Rayo Tapatio II, Starman, Tony Rivera b Hooligan, Loco Max, Virus
5) Alex Koslov, Dos Caras Jr., La Mascara DQ Canek Jr., Olimpico, Ramstein

I presume Virus was filling in for someone, but they focused on a Virus/Rayo II rivalary. Olimpico yanked Dos’ mask, which ended the main event. Can’t believe el Rey de Neza lost again.

Zocalo is nearing a lucha strike still.

Super Luchas posted their Black Shadow obit. There’s also one in Figure 4, written by Steve Sims.

02/16 Arena Mexico card changed

As noted by Robert in the comments

CMLL (FRI) 02/16 Arena Mexico Results
1) Mini Fantasy, Shockercito vs Mini Violencia, Pierrothito
2) Blue Panther, Lizmark Jr., Negro Casas vs Eclipse, Mascara Ano 2000, Universo 2000
3) La Mascara vs Sagrado, Sombra de Plata, Volador Jr., Metro II, Leono, Super Nova, Virus, Mephisto, Alex Koslov, Misterioso II, Sangre Azteca, Felino, Stuka Jr., Valiente, Averno [ciber, reyes de aire]
4) Atlantis, Tarzan Boy, Ultimo Guerrero vs Hector Garza, Mr. Aguila, Perro Aguayo Jr. [CMLL TRIOS]

CMLL.com notes the main event being changed to a title match and the injuries to Flash and Mascara Purpura, but doesn’t explain Corelone’s disappearance.
