I would say there’s a 99.999% chance the mystery man teaming with the Sect is Extreme Tiger, making his debut. I think we’re much more likely to be headed towards Crazy Boy and Joe Lider completing a title swap and getting the tag team titles rather than adding people to Mexican Powers. If that’s the plan, you can work backwards and see Psicosis II wasn’t needed for the group longer, and Juvi can just wander off his own way (as he tends to do.) Obviously, this match will go back for the MPs.

That’s quite the random collection of tecnicos in the semifinal. Elsewhere, we’re just ticking along as usual – I think we already fulfilled our plot developments for this month.

Have they announced anything for June yet?

US: 06/16

The big angle on the show was Psicosis II turning on his partners, giving the win and the Atomico titles to the Sect. Post match, Prez Roldan appeared to fire Psicosis from AAA for betrayed them, but naturally he just joined the opposition forces. AAA’s recap notes it’s unclear if he’s meant to be a Viper or a member of the Sect.

I guess they could still break Juvi off down the road, but I don’t think this is a last minute switch – if/when Juvi splits, he’s still got to be a tecnico to feud with Fuerza. I’m not quite sure how/when/if that’ll go down.

Psicosis stuck around to wrestle in the next match, because Abismo (and Mini Abismo) were missing from the show. Rudos stole that match. Main event had the Sect helping out Mesias, Chessman in Cibernetico’s corner not being quite enough, and La Parka Jr. and Zorro running out to help Cibernetico win. So they’re still all allied. If this was a US group, I’d think they’d be setting up some War Games like match; maybe here, we’re heading to a big multi man stips match.

Once again, the Air Force/Barrio Boys match got switched to an eight man – they seem to be pushing Alan, Decnnis, Apache and Super Calo as a new unit (or a new version of the Barrio Boys.) At least Rey Cometa made this match. Rudos were on their way to the win when Laredo Kid ran into help his side to a win. That seems unfair.

No names given to the evil clowns, though we know they won. Mascarita Sagrada and, as previous stated, Mini Abismo were missing from the opener. Mini Histeria gave Divina a martiente to sneak a win.

02/05: Coliseo, Monterrey, AULL, Tijuana

CMLL

CMLL (SUN) 02/04 Arena Coliseo Results [ova]
1) Bracito de Oro, Mini Fantasy ? Fire, Mini Violencia
2) India Sioux, Luna Magica, Sahori b Amapola, Medussa, Rosa Negra
3) Fabian el Gitano, Metro II, Satanico ? Arkangel, Loco Max, Nitro
4) Felino, Maximo, Sagrado ? Alex Koslov, Ephesto, Misterioso II
5) Dr. Wagner Jr., Heavy Metal, Mistico b Black Warrior, Olimpico, Tarzan Boy

Warrior yanked Mistico’s mask and rolled him up for the win. They may have a singles match next Sunday. Ovaciones has flipped from having the most easily understood results to the least easily understood results in the space of a week (writing “they won” under each matchup does not help), so I have to find out undercard results from other places.

indy (SAT) 02/03 Plaze de Toros Monumental Monterrey Results [rfc]
1) Gitano del Norte, Sky b Black Soul, Furor
2) Coco Blanco, Coco Rojo, Coco Verde b Al Barone, Bengali, Espanto V

4) Villano III, Villano IV, Villano V b Cien Caras, Máscara Año 2000, Máscara Año 2000 Jr.
5) Damián 666, Héctor Garza, Mr. Águila b El Hijo Del Santo, LA Park, Mil Mascaras

That’s something of an upset.

indy (SUN) 02/04 Arena Coliseo Monterrey Results [rfc]
1) Larry Miranda Jr. b Ricohet
2) Borrico, Burrito b Angel Negro, Black Nazi
3) Black Diamond, Guerrero Griego b Armagedon, Corazon Adicto

5) Dulce Poly b Simply Lusicous [FILL WOMEN]
6) Hijo de Espanto II, Konan Big, Mr. Texas b Axxel, Casanova, Psicodelico Jr.

Black Nazi could be a superb gimmick in the right hands, though they’re likely not doing it like I’d picture it.

AULL (SAT) 02/03 Arena Lopez Mateos Results [El Halcon]
1) Jose El Caporal, Yakuza b Chico del Barrio, Violento
2) Tortuguillo Ninja I, Tortuguillo Ninja II, Tortuguillo Ninja III b Angel o Demonio, Leon Rojo, Obet
3) Black Terry, Negro Navarro b Cerebro Negro, Fantasma de la Opers [AULL Tag, torneo]
4) Sepulturero I, Sepulturero II b Isao, Masusaki [AULL TAG, torneo]

6) Rey Krymen b Terry 2000 [super libre]
7) Dos Caras Jr., Shocker, Ultimo Gladiador b Black Warrior, Sadico, Ultimo Guerrero

Krymen and Terry 2000 set up a title vs hair match for next week, so that’s how that’s going down. The AULL tag team tournament is scheduled to end in March, and I dare someone to make sense of it. One tag team tournament for me at a time. Luchas 2000 #354 has Mistico was Sepulturero’s mask.

AAA BAJA (FRI) 02/02 Auditorio Municipal de Tijuana Results [Lucha Libre Tijuana, via El Halcon]
1) Spark, Yarat b Galeno, Wama
2) Angel Mensajero, Genio del Aire, Iron Boy, Luminoso b Fobia, King Azteca, Rubi Gardenia, Tornado Negro
3) Hijo del Rey Misterio, Super Astro, Tinieblas Jr. b Antifaz del Norte, Hator, Mr. Niebla
4) Psicosis II, Rey Misterio Sr. NC Crazy Boy, Nicho el Millionario
5) Head Hunter I, Head Hunter II, Pirata Morgan b Intocable, La Parka Jr., Octagón

Semimain was called off in the third fall by the commission when Nicho and Psicosis brawled into the crowd. They built this as ‘Who is the real Psicosis?’; in that Super Luchas interview, Nicho said he was done with being Psicosis in Mexico. Guess he changed his mind! (Hey, why were Psicosis II and Crazy Boy on opposite teams anyway?) Hunter I fouled Intocable in the main and got away with it for the win.

Today’s the 23rd anniversary of Santo’s death. Ovaciones has a bio, as does Notimex

AAA’s site is down. Tonight’s the Puebla taping.

AAA TV (MON) 02/05 Plaza de Toros de Irapuato, Guanajuato

4) Alebrije, Intocable, Octagon, Super Porky vs Alan Stone, Hator, Scorpio Jr., Zumbido
5) Charly Manson, Chessman, Cibernetico vs Cuervo, Escoria, Ozz [cage]

Either the Hell Brothers are killing off the Dark Family and ending the feud, or a Big Angle goes down.

11/21: Puebla, Acapulco

Still no results from the last AAA taping. Still no results from Sunday’s Arena Coliseo show. This is like an evil contest. We don’t know who is the current CMLL Middleweight Champion, but we do know there’s are new Mexican National Atomico Champions, The Mexican Powers won them this past weekend, as pretty much expected. This is Psicois II (the former Leon Negro)’s fifth different reign as champion.

CMLL (MON) 11/20 Arena Puebla Results [hugo999]
1) Super Star, SWAT b Fuerza Tiger, Murcielago
2) Bobby Jack, Espritiu Maligno, Toro Bill Jr. b Centella de Oro, the Tiger, Tigre Rojo
3) Batman, Felino, Tony Rivera b Kraven, Okumura, Skandalo
4) Atlantis, Eclipse, Olimpico, Tarzan Boy b Heavy Metal, Mistico, Negro Casas, Ultimo Dragon
5) Rey Bucanero b Kenzo Suzuki [CMLL LH]

Yea, what I expected. To show you how much weight limits mean, it didn’t even occur to me how Suzuki is completely ineligble for this title until I read Meltzer make an offhand mention, and I’m supposed to be paying attention to these things. Kenzo’s been accompanied by a female Japanese woman in many of his recent matches, and I just assumed it was his wife Hiroka (different person than the Women’s champ), but people who’ve actually seen her say it’s Mima Shimoda, and she does mention accompanying both Kenzo and Hajime Ohara to the ring for on her blog

There was a Fantasma de la Quebrada vs Pirata Morgan hair versus mask match scheduled last Friday in Acapulco. Those who were there say Fantasma de la Quebrada never showed for his match. Fantasma explaining to the local paper that he requested the promoter pay him in advance (as he was going to lose his mask, which was not said), the promoter refused, and Fantasma de la Quebrada decided to retire right then and there. I’m not sure if this was Fantasma de la Quebrada catching a double cross on the payout, or Fantasma de la Quebrada holding up the promoter for more money, but I know the people went home unhappy. They did a Cibernetico vs Pirata Morgan main event instead, but the fans weren’t happy when they realized nothing was on the line.
