New champion! Trueno and Super Comando were the seconds. Bam Bam won the first, and Olimpico took the last two to win the title for the second time. He won the title with a half crab.

Rush reversed a Texano Tornado into a small package to steal the win. Felino and Perico did not let this stop them from dancing after the match. Mephisto subbed for Terrible.

Volador lost clean to the Nudo Lagunero.

The scheduled Perros del Mal show tonight was canceled. At least they’re getting better letting people know; Damian and others were outside explaing their side to unhappy people.

That title is Hijo del Pirata Morgan’s from El Paso. Since he just won another singles title, the winner of this has a mighty good chance. First time La Roca is here since last April. He was working AAA spot shows last time he was spotted, but maybe they too figured out he needed a lot of work.

Explosivo reappears from the dead (not literally!) and starts finding himself in matches with Comando Negro. That is not the start of a story with a happy ending.

R de Rudo points out this lineup is up with the other ones.

You’ll note that the matches built up on Viva Va Lucha, with promos and everything, are not the matches which occur to be happening. The NWA/Demon show has the match it’s supposed to have, so it’s Los Perros being Los Perros. The first two matches should be good, the women’s match will be what it’s supposed to be and the fourth match is intriguing.

If Santo still is anti-PPV, that means none of the main Perros will be in a PPV match (though they’ll probably show up in the semimain and fourth match, again.) Match will be fun, who knows/if when we’ll see it. Go to the show and watch it!

Obvious guess is Bestia 666 is Damian’s son. All credit to Damian for not giving the world yet another Hijo or Junior, but this appears to be his debut match and it’s a tough position for one of those. FdT and Crazy are working Arena Aficion every Tuesday lately, you’d think they could get Besita a couple warmup matches there. (Maybe he’s been wrestling under another name and I’m worrying about nothing.)

If this is the same Black Fire (and it looks like there might have been multiple), he’s started in Super Crazy’s LLJL kid’s promotion and has worked DTU shows. This would be his biggest match, easily.

No sign of the guy from France or the guy from Brazil. Are the Perros promoting more shows? Are the Perros hyping up people who are just friends of theirs? Who can say! I need a YouTube here.

That’ll work.

Edit:Perros del Mal put up their own lineup, which I’ve added below. Sabu is the mystery person on that poster. No mention of Dreamer. Between the two lineups, we’ve probably got the whole a card, though there’s one match that doesn’t quite work. I’ve edited the post below to make sense of it.

Poster advertises El Angel, so I would suspect he’s the guy who ends up teaming with Super Nova. (Edit: Or not.) Everyone else is accounted for!

Like the DGUSA PPVs, and ROH PPVs before them, this show will be taped and in advance of airing and repeat many times. This PPV airs in a month DGUSA does not, with the idea that it’d be a regular every other month thing. No price, but it’s probably in the same range as those other shows and depends on the market.

It’s amazing that the Perros del Mal have US PPV, while AAA and CMLL do not. (It’s also amazing that I don’t yet have a way to order this PPV. I’ve got two months to figure it out.)

TJP is TJ Perkins, CMLL Havana Brother of long ago. This is mostly irrelevant to this post, but he’s also working the DGUSA shows and I thought there was some deal where guys had to be PPV exclusive. Probably don’t know what I’m talking about here. His match should be good, and 1/2 should be fun.

Perros del Mal announced much of their schedule for the next two months

04/18: Parque de Beisbol, Pideras Negras, Coahuila

Looks like we already have the 04/18, 04/28, and 05/01 (cage match with mask/hair, plus Charly/X-Fly for hair) lineups written up, and the 05/05 is a rechedulding of an earlier show. Of the others, the 05/02 one is the biggie. Perros del Mal has a long list of guys working this show, and the names not usually seen are Marco Corleone, Latin Lover (unless “Latin” means someone else; they’re trying to skirt the name issue), Sabu, and Tommy Dreamer. Also, there will be matches for the NWA titles and hardcore matches; hopefully at the same time! This will be a Kid’s Day show as well, delayed a couple of days, so tickets will be cheap. This also the show being taped for the US.

Getting back to the list of talent, Perros del Mal also says Marco Corleone has joined. So not so much going back to AAA, and not so much using AAA wrestlers on the MTV show. Sorry for getting that wrong.

(Hilariously, Record interviews Perro Aguayo about Marco’s signing, and Perro is evasive about the foreign wrestlers being brought in. Talk to your website, Perro.)

Valiente’s run lucha shows in NY/NJ with some success (though not always in getting there guys there who’ve they promised.) They’re partnering with Masked Republic and inDemand, with the idea this will be a HD PPV in June, with commentary in both English and Spanish. No mention of price. Valiente’s blog entry says it’ll eventually air worldwide, though no date on that.. (Perros del Mal is only there for our sorting purposes; they’re just talent being brought in, doesn’t appear they’re running the show.)

The non-lucha people are combos of SoCal indy guys, East Coast indy guys, and Tommy Dreamer, who really should be putting together some sort of passport or picture book of every promotion he’s bizarrely working for this year. Von Eerie working here indicates she’s in AAA on a per night deal (which would probably be standard for the foreign women) and I don’t think this affects her status there. On the other hand, I have some doubts about the “Hijo de Rey Misterio is training with CMLL for a debut” story, since he seems to be spending a lot of time on indy shows. Maybe he was, but he isn’t right now. LA Park being here doesn’t affect his AAA schedule, but it’s a nice remainder that it can’t possible be a full time deal with all the other bookings he gets (and, if he should happen to lose his mask, he’ll probably continue wearing it for these sorts of shows.)

The key to making this work will be promotion – the AAA TripleMania PPV did not do so well because it barely got any promotion, and this group won’t have a TV show to work out of. I suspect this will eventually come out on DVD and sell more of those than on PPVs, but I guess we’ll see. They’ve got a lot of work to do, but I suppose they know that.

Besides these matches, they’re promising 3 more unbilled matches. They’ve also announced two shows for Texas on the previous weekend:

(there’s a whole rant here, that didn’t come together as I was hoping. The actual news is before the jump, and you may be well served to  move on after that.)

In today’s yesterday’s Record, Perro Aguayo Jr. attempts to quiet the doomsayers. They’re not going back to CMLL, they’re not folding, and all the blame should be on Cibernetico or Wagner for not showing up, as Perro was assured they would.
