IWRG (SUN) 11/30 Arena Naucalpan [the gladiatores]
1) Shuriken b Imperio Azteca
2) Gemelo Fantastico I & Gemelo Fantastico II b King Drako & Nemesis (IWRG)
3) Judas el Traidor , Masada, Tetsuda b Goleador, Jack, Pendulo
4) Black Terry, Cerebro Negro, Dr. Cerebro b Oficial 911, Oficial AK47, Oficial Fierro [super libre]
5) Pendulo, Scorpio Jr., Tinieblas Jr. DQ Head Hunter I, Máscara Año 2000, Veneno
Pendulo replaced Dr. Wagner Jr. That’as a bit of a drop off. MascaraY2K distracted one ref, but got caught fouling Scorpio by the other ref for the DQ. That same referee, Reyes Rosas, refused to leave the ring in the semimain to allow that match to take place under super libre rules (ref outside the ring, only leaning in to count pinfalls) and had to be replaced by a different referee. There’s an angle here, I just don’t get it.
A couple more articles trickling out from yesterday’s stuff
– Averno says he doesn’t want to be considered the leader of the group that’s named after him. Don’t think that’s going to work. Ovaciones says he IS the leader, so this is not clear. What is worth knowing is they expect to add more members and never to know defeat. I guess losing by DQ is not knowing defeat?
– Mictlan says he’s happy to get a big win, despite coming in with an injury suffered on Friday. He’s up for whatever CMLL has for him next, though he’d like to demask Dragon Rojo someday.
– Loco Max was sad he lost to the ‘dancer’, but also that he hurt his ribs during the match.
(SuperLuchas) The NWA is not officially recognizing Sunday’s NWA Welterweight title match between Sombra and Ephesto. Which is the same as it’s been since at least 1991.
Leading up to Lucha Libre London, wrestling101.com has a really good interview with Mascarita Sagrada. He was not a fan of lucha libre growing up, he was a fan of martial arts and just happened to see some people practicing wrestling when he was working out one day and decided to try it as a hobby. Lots of talk about the Juniors Division, other Mascarita Sagradas and his career.
