12/15: Guadalajara, Neza

Ovaciones has interviews with the major participants on tonight’s Arena Mexico show. Corelone is quoted (which I hope means he’s actually in the country) saying this will be his revenge for that chairshot. Universo feels Corelone and Kenzo’s hair will be a Christmas present. Kenzo vows victory in five minutes! In a Notimex article, Kenzo also says Universo is one of the worst wrestlers in the world. The trios teams talk as well, but don’t say anything.

CMLL (TUE) 12/12 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara Results [cmll.com]

2) Neon b Valentin Mayo
3) Nube Roja b Depredador
4) El Gallo b Super Maquina
5) Hijo de Pierroth, Mascara Magica, Toxico b Fabian el Gitano, Tigre Blanco, Tigre Metalico
6) Dos Caras Jr., Hijo de Lizmark DQ Mascara Magica, Universo 2000

CMLL (SUN) 12/10 Arena Neza Results [thegladiatores]
1) Red Bull b Cosmotron
2) Angel Perverso, Rey Mariscal b Cyberman, Goku
3) Lady Apache, Marcela b Medusa, Sahori
4) La Mascara b Misterioso II [MEX WELTER]
5) Shocker, Starman b Black Warrior, Tarzan Boy

Yes, Starman in the main event. Dos Caras Jr. was MIA.

CMLL 12/15 Lineup

CMLL’s announced the lineup for it’s last major show of the year, on 12/15.

CMLL (FRI) 12/15 Arena Mexico Lineup
1) Super Nova, Flash vs Super Comando, Artillero
2) Dark Angel, Marcela, Sahori vs Hiroka, Princesa Sujei, Amapola
3) Dr. Wagner Jr., Rey Bucnaero, Dos Caras Jr. vs LA Park, Olimpico, Eclipse
4) Mistico, Volador Jr., Ultimo Dragon vs Averno, Mephisto, Efesto
5) Shocker, Universo 2000 vs Marco Corleone, Kenzo Suzuki [hair]

Main’s listed as a double hair match, so Marco and Kenzo are surely going down.

I have no idea who Efesto is supposed to be. I presume a typo, but that’s not close to anything – so a new Assassin? Mistico wouldn’t have been able to work if the show as 12/01, and now he’s in the semi-main. Had to be a factor in the rescheduling.

I’d assume it’s still on PPV. Tickets go on sale next week.

CMLL’s all announced the winners of it’s bodybuilding contest, which took place 11/29. There were 40 participants, and the winners were:

Mini: Pequeno Damian
Women: Dark Angel
Newer: Super Nova
Intermediate: Mictlan
Advanced: Olimpico

All those fruits and vegetables paid off! Mictlan still has yet to actually wrestle in a match (though, if he’s being listed in the intermediate category, he probably has been around a while and wrestled as someone else – the Soberano idea seems to make as much since as anything, since he’s vanished.)

11/25: Arena Mexico, Tijuana, GdR

Haven’t seen results for Arena Mexico yet, but Super Luchas says next week’s hair match is off. I figure that means no PPV as well, but that’s not confirmed.

Mano Negra was the loser of the 12 man hair/mask tournament, ultimately losing his hair to El Hijo del Santo. (Mr_Alzahreb @ Satanico’s Manson)

Guerreros del Ring is airing:
11/17 Mexico: Fabian el Gitano, Leono, Texano Jr. vs Arkangel, Loco Max, Sangre Azteca
11/19 Coliseo: Mistico, Ultimo Dragon, Volador Jr. vs Black Warrior, Tarzan Boy, Ultimo Guerrero
Unmasked: Rey Bucanero

11/19, 11/21 Arena Coliseo

CMLL (SUN) 11/19 Arena Coliseo Results
1) Carrona, Super Comando DQ Flash, Super Nova
2) Mini Olimpico, Ultimo Dragonicto b Pierrothito, Sombrita
3) Tigre Metalico, Tony Rivera, Virus b Apocalipsis, Hooligan, Ramstein
4) Kenzo Suzuki, Okumura, Olimpico b La Mascara, Rey Bucanero, Sagrado
5) Averno b Alex Koslov [CMLL MIDDLE]
6) Black Warrior, Tarzan Boy, Ultimo Guerrero b Mistico, Ultimo Dragon, Volador Jr.

Okumura replaced Marco Corelone in the 4th match, out due to the injury on Friday. (Which is one show more than Universo missed when taking the Black Hammer from Universo.) Kenzo’s team won in two straight falls, with Kenzo pinning Rey and grabbing the ropes in the second.

The CMLL’s recap says the title match went 40 minutes. So either we’re not seeing it or it’s going to be cut down quite a bit, because the total in-ring time on both Coliseo shows combined is about 40 minutes.

Ultimo pinned Volador clean to win the main event.

CMLL (TUE) 11/21 Arena Coliseo Results
1) Shockercito, Ultimo Dragoncito b Pierrothito, Sombrita
2) Sensei, Starman, Trueno b Artillero, Hooligan, Super Comando
3) Lady Apache, Luna Magica, Sahori b Amapola, Hiroka, Rosa Negra
4) Hirooki Goto, Hombre Sin Nombre, Mascara Ano 2000 b Felino, Metro II, Negro Casas
5) Atlantis, Eclipse, Ultimo Guerrero b Dr. Wagner Jr., Shocker, Volador Jr.

Nothing happened here. Well, Ultimo and Atlantis won clean here too, but that’s not much. I think they want you think they’re building towards Atlantis and Wagner again, but don’t believe it.

This has nothing to do with CMLL, but Steve Sims (via Meltzer) says the AAA guys have been pulled from the TNA show. There’s a thread about it over on DVDVR.

11/22: IWRG, AAA, Santo

(iwrg.com)

Nothing on either Coliseo show. Nothing more on the AAA results. I do now know what the deal was with the Virus/Mascara Purpura match ending early on Monday – a recap in La Prensa says Mascara Purpura hurt his arm on a dive.

Kenzo/Rey is a bonus match for Sunday. CMLL’s story explanation is their match in Puebla and their earlier face offs in matches were just so good, they needed to do one more time. It’s not a title match.

IWRG (THU) 11/16 Arena Naucalpan Results
1) Halcon Salvaje, Kid Tiger b Avisman, Black Stone
2) Ave Fenix, Kung Fu Jr., Turbo b Comando Gama, Fantasma de la Opera, Macho II
3) Bacteria, Freelance b Black Jaguar, Comando Mega
This turned out not to be a stakes match, but maybe next week.
4) Dr. Cerebro, Suicida, Villano III b Mascara Ano 2000 Jr., Negro Navarro, Pierroth II
5) Cerebro Negro, Mistico, Sagrado b Misterioso II, Nitro, Veneno

AAA (THU) 11/23 Plaza de Toros La Comitecia Lineup [El Heraldo de Chipas]
1) Mini Chessman, Jerrito Estrada vs Mascarita Sagrada, Mascarita Divina
2) Nemesis AAA, Super Fly, Rey Cometa vs Drake, Pirata Morgan Jr., Barba Roja
3) Dizzy vs Gran Demon [mask]
4) Intocable, Octagon, Aliado vs Alan Stone, Pirata Morgan, Abismo Negro

I know a mask match is supposed to be a big deal, but this is more interesting to me for NEMESIS VS NEMESIS. It’d be better if we knew which guy was Nemesis IWRG – I think I may just decide that’s Drake for record keeping purposes.

CMLL.com also says the Monday Arena Mexico show was great, and Electroshock (re)debut was big. Uh huh. The Notimex notes that the Satanico, Electroshock, Silver King was booed, particularly Electroshock.

El Universal has an interview with El Santo. He says a US movie person called him, wanting to make a Santo movie, and put Bruce Willis in the role – and Santo immediately shot him down, because he’s Santo. Santo claims he’s 34, which either means luchawiki is wrong and he started wrestling at nine, or he’s lying! Or maybe it’s just a typo, but that’s less sensational.

11/21: Puebla, Acapulco

Still no results from the last AAA taping. Still no results from Sunday’s Arena Coliseo show. This is like an evil contest. We don’t know who is the current CMLL Middleweight Champion, but we do know there’s are new Mexican National Atomico Champions, The Mexican Powers won them this past weekend, as pretty much expected. This is Psicois II (the former Leon Negro)’s fifth different reign as champion.

CMLL (MON) 11/20 Arena Puebla Results [hugo999]
1) Super Star, SWAT b Fuerza Tiger, Murcielago
2) Bobby Jack, Espritiu Maligno, Toro Bill Jr. b Centella de Oro, the Tiger, Tigre Rojo
3) Batman, Felino, Tony Rivera b Kraven, Okumura, Skandalo
4) Atlantis, Eclipse, Olimpico, Tarzan Boy b Heavy Metal, Mistico, Negro Casas, Ultimo Dragon
5) Rey Bucanero b Kenzo Suzuki [CMLL LH]

Yea, what I expected. To show you how much weight limits mean, it didn’t even occur to me how Suzuki is completely ineligble for this title until I read Meltzer make an offhand mention, and I’m supposed to be paying attention to these things. Kenzo’s been accompanied by a female Japanese woman in many of his recent matches, and I just assumed it was his wife Hiroka (different person than the Women’s champ), but people who’ve actually seen her say it’s Mima Shimoda, and she does mention accompanying both Kenzo and Hajime Ohara to the ring for on her blog

There was a Fantasma de la Quebrada vs Pirata Morgan hair versus mask match scheduled last Friday in Acapulco. Those who were there say Fantasma de la Quebrada never showed for his match. Fantasma explaining to the local paper that he requested the promoter pay him in advance (as he was going to lose his mask, which was not said), the promoter refused, and Fantasma de la Quebrada decided to retire right then and there. I’m not sure if this was Fantasma de la Quebrada catching a double cross on the payout, or Fantasma de la Quebrada holding up the promoter for more money, but I know the people went home unhappy. They did a Cibernetico vs Pirata Morgan main event instead, but the fans weren’t happy when they realized nothing was on the line.
