06/14: Coliseo, Queretaro, Santo

CMLL.com says Villano IV had undergone knee surgery, following his injury (at the hands of the Guerreros, we’ll say) last Friday. No mention of how long he’s expected out, just that III and V want the Guerreros dead. I’d assume this means we’re not getting any mask match from this feud in June.

CMLL (TUE) 06/12 Arena Queretaro [Knotty @ el martinete]
1) Eragon b Estrella Dorada
2) Ozuno & Sarna b Drabek II & Sindrome
3) Espiritu Negro & Okumura b Principe Valiente Jr. & Ursus
4) Alex Koslov & Brazo de Oro b Efesto & Sangre Azteca
5) Atlantis & Olimpico b Dr. Wagner Jr. & Heavy Metal

If I’m reading the recap right, Alex Koslov challenged Sangre Azteca to a title shot after the match. Unless I’m mistaken, Alex Koslov is not actually Mexican, so we’ll see if the local commission allows a non-Mexican challenge for the Mexican National Welterweight title. (They did allow Dark Angel to do something similar, so it’ll probably slip by.) Atlantis pulled Wagner’s mask in the main event.

CMLL (TUE) 06/12 Arena Coliseo [CMLL]
1) Mini Damian 666 & Mini Violencia b Mini Olimpico & Ultimo Dragoncito
2) Sombra de Plata, Tigre Blanco, Tony Rivera b Apocalipsis, Hooligan, Ramstein
3) Lady Apache, Luna Magica, Princesa Blanca b Hiroka, La Nazi, Mima Shimoda
4) Felino, Leono, Volador Jr. b Eclipse, Misterioso II, Virus
5) Dos Caras Jr., Negro Casas, Rey Bucanero b Averno, Ultimo Guerrero, Universo 2000

Black Warrior is still MIA – Averno moved up to the main event in his spot, and Virus took Averno’s place in the semimain. In the tercera, the tecnicas won (again) when La Nazi randomly turned on Hiroka. No idea.

Ovaciones has an interview with El Santo, who’s going to Spain for a couple weeks at the end of the month (with Scorpio Jr.) Santo talks about how he’s so much better not being on TV, because people can’t see him as much so they want to see him more. This is what you say when you’re not on TV.

the gladiatores (SUN) 06/17 Arena Lopez Mateos
1) Comodin Jr. & Rey Dragon vs Halcon Diabolico I & Halcon Diabolico II
2) Kilvan vs Yakuza
3) Dark Gladiator, Devastacion, Rocket vs Arkar, Exterminio, Mr. Stop
4) Bacteria, Gamos el Centauro, Okara vs Hermano Muerte II, Hermano Muerte III, Vocan Negro
5) Rocky Santana & Valiente vs Rey Krimen & Sadico
6) Cerebro Negro, Dr. Cerebro, Suicida vs Kripta, Lapida, Sepulcro

This is a one year anniversary show for thegladiatores.com. They’re celebrating one year with a lucha libre show! I’m lucky if I remember it’s been an anniversary. Totally otra nivel. (It may also be the weekly AULL show, but that’s not as good a story.)

Super Astro’s been on AAA TV wearing his mask, which he lost a number of years ago. Eventually, he was going to run into a commission that’d be upset with that – it appears he’s using the name Meteorito (box y lucha) in those cases, but wearing the same mask. You can remask after a number of years, though typically it’s with a new gimmick. Astro’s worn his mask in Tijuana before joining AAA, claiming he was never paid what he was promised when he lost his mask, so he’s got the right to keep it on.

PAN (SUN) 06/17 Colonia del Valle, Mexico City [El Universal via el Halcon]
1) Alex Koslov, Dr. Wagner Jr., Rey Bucanero vs Atlantis, Blue Demon Jr., Ultimo Guerrero

Lucha libre show as a political party rally, always great.

Alex Marvez has interview with Konnan. More about his health, little about AAA.

CMLL (MON) 12/25 Arena Coliseo Results
1) Fantasy, Mini Olimpico, Ultimo Dragoncito b Fire, Mini Violencia, Sombrita
2) Fabian el Gitano, Leono, Virus b Arkangel, Loco Max, Metro
3) Lady Apache b Hiroka [CMLL WOMEN]
4) Pierroth, Sangre Azteca, Terrible b Mictlan, Sagrado, Texano Jr.
5) Heavy Metal, Mistico, Negro Casas DQ Atlantis, Black Warrior, Olimpico

In one of the recent WO.com news updates that I don’t feel like sorting thru at the moment, Steve Sims expected a title change here becuase Hiroka’s heading back to Japan. She is scheduled for a CMLL VIP show on 01/20, so it’s a temporary departure and it’s not like they had to have the belt around for two months. Kinda thought this was coming but didn’t want it to be.

This is the second time Lady Apache’s held both the Mexican and CMLL Women’s Title at the same time. You’re supposed to drop the Mexican one when you win a world title, but…we’ll see.

The big question: what’s the deal with that ref’s pants?

Black Warrior tried to low blow Mistico, but ended up low blowing the ref. That’s going to get you a DQ.

Octagon was recoginized in Xalapa for his 25 years of wrestling. Octagon said sports are good for keep adults from alchol and drug addiction. No comment!

El Halcon #82 is up. There’s an interview with Kenzo (his finisher is called the Hagakure, he wants a title match vs Universo!), a look back at a Centurion Negro/Gran Hamada title match, a Fishman bio (he’s got a fishman fan myspace), Aguila Venezolana bio, and a short profile with Cobalto, which is awesome because I was trying to figure out which guy was Cobalto last week. It turns out, it’s the guy with the C on his mask. Cobalto says he’s wrestled since 94, in Arena Coliseo Guadalajara, but this is the only name he’s ever used.

The bonus match for Monday (instead of Sunday) Arena Coliseo is…Lady Apache vs Hiroka in a CMLL Women’s Title match. (uh oh)

12/09: Mexico, Teleton

CMLL (FRI) 12/08 Arena Mexico Results
1) Danger, Valiente b Artillero, Super Comando
2) Fabian el Gitano, Mascara Purpura, Metro II b Arkangel, Hooligan, Loco Max
3) Damian 666, Halloween, Mr. Aguila b Blue Panther, Sagrado, Volador Jr.
4) Heavy Metal, Shocker, Universo 2000 b Alex Koslov, Kenzo Suzuki, LA Park
5) Atlantis, Tarzan Boy, Ultimo Guerrero b Dos Caras Jr., Dr. Wagner Jr., Rey Bucanero

Hooligan replaced Nitro in the GdR special. Both teams in next week’s trios match won. Metal and Park both got taken out of their match, and I’m quite surprised Kenzo didn’t get a win here. They must be killing off this bit after Friday.

I expect to hear about the AAA taping sometime in March.

Again, no GdR or Galavision today because of Teleton coverage. There’s like a 50% shot I’ll forget to tape GdR this week because it’s on Sunday.

KrisZ notes, in the comments, that Televisa indeed did get it’s wish of a CMLL vs AAA show – except it was one match, and it was a draw.

Hiroka has a shot at Lady Apache’s Mexican National Championship next Sunday. This is a odd thing, seeing as only Mexicans are supposed to have a shot at the Mexican National championships, and Hiroka sure appears to be Japanese.

CMLL has no idea how they’re spelling Efesto/Ephesto yet. This shall annoy me greatly. It really needs ‘f’ or it’ll be massively confusing.

Guerreros del Ring #64 has the Dos Caras family.

It looks like the magazines have a recap of the 11/30 AAA TV taping, even if AAA’s site doesn’t.

11/27-12/03 lineups

Still working on the news.

Lineups are below. Highlights
– the Tuesday Coliseo main – Wagner/Shocker vs Atlantis/Ultimo – probably is the match I’m most interesting in seeing and of course will. Perro Aguayo is back on Friday, and they’ve dropped both Universo and Kenzo from the main event.
– AAA TV tapes on Thursday.
– Mistico is apparently the IWRG Super Welterweight Champion, because he’s defending it on Sunday versus Black Warrior. At least IWRG figured out they need to move progress the feud; perhaps someone could pass the message onto CMLL? Don’t forget that Mistico’s also winning Hijo del Diablo’s mask on Friday in Tijuana.
– The Hiroka defends/retains the CMLL Women’s title against Marcela in Neza on Thursday.
– A Mascarita Sagrada defends a Mini’s Title on Friday. Don’t ask me which.

Speaking of title belts, according to the report from Arena Solidradid over on lomejordeluchalibre, it’s the UWA Junior Light Heavyweight title Silver King is toting around. You know, if they ditched all titles with Super and Junior with them in Mexico, it’d be a good start.
