El Hijo del Solitario had been a rudo, but faught with his teammates and turned tecnico here. Multifacetico/Tetsuya feud still being pushed.

Freelance looks good in his match and wants a title shot against the Oficials, but he did lose. Chico Che got busted open again. Traumas want a title shot and won, though the win came when Black Terry decided to piledrive Jack. Opener was a sweep for Azteca.

After the main event, Veneno stormed out, wondering how IWRG could have a new Corporacion on the next show, since he knew nothing about it owned the trademark. The promoter told Veneno to take it up with the new group, not him.

And the twist is, the new Corp is a group of second generation tecnicos. This will not make Veneno happy.

For no apparent reason, Dr. Cerebro was Freelance’s second in special non-title singles match. Naturally, Cerebro got carried away and fouled Tetsuya, causing the DQ. Freelance was ticked, and there were three way challenges all around.

Gemelos and Chico Che fell apart as a team in the third fall of their title match. Gemelos may be going rudo.

Alan Stone is the #2 man in Rey de Reyes. He’s also probably not winning.

(RFC) Pancho Tequila won the 50 man Royal Rumble in Arena Coliseo Monterrey.

Ovaciones reports Mistico will wrestle tonight in Palenque de la Feria de Celaya, Guanajuato. This is far ahead of the most optimistic return, which means all that praying paid off for Mistico or he decided “screw it” and is going to be wrestling in pain for quite some time.

The lineup is something like

This was supposed to have a Hijo del Solitario vs Villano III super libre bout, but Solitario hurt (arm? shoulder? something where he needed to use a sling!) and Villano III replaced Shocker, who appears to have gone AWOL. They did offer refunds for those who wanted, but judging from the pictures, they didn’t draw that much to start with.

Ovaciones says El Hijo del Diablo will replace Lizmark Jr. in Coliseo tonight. Which means Diablo, who hasn’t worked CMLL in as long as I can recall, is lined up to work as a tecnico. Strange. I’m thinking that was a typo.

A blog entry on Milenio complains about the state of lucha libre. Hector Garza is quoted as complaining that wrestlers don’t need to know how to fight and just need a pretty face, a good body and know how to dance. Sure sounds like he’s talking about himself, based on his recent work.

– Guerreros del Ring #87 has Mascara Sagrada on the cover
– El Halcon Net #90 has interviews with Santo, Texano Jr., and Brillante, and the first part of a story about Gimnasio Ham Lee. Brillante is 17!

LUCHAS 2000 #363 teases Blue Demon Jr. vs Hijo del Solitario in a mask match on 05/05. I wonder what match will actually happen, if there’s an actual match here.

El Halcon 88 has interviews and features on Cibernetico, Virus, Black Shadow, Explosivo, and Arkangel. Virus says the Internet is the invention of the White Man (not the wrestler), and not being one, he hasn’t used it much. But he’d like to learn.

Dr. Wagner (Sr.) was inducted into the Zacatecas Hall of Fame. Perro Aguayo went in last year. (Sol de Zacatecas)

El Sol de Tampico says locals Sadico, Peligro, Iron Boy and King Boy have signed with IWRG. They were used as random early match guys early this month.

Hijo de Santo’s coast preservation story has gotten picked up in a number of Mexican papers. Nothing new. If you’re in Phoenix, Santo is wrestling on Friday. Looks like Santo/Super Parka vs Misterio/Psicosis or some similar combination.

A poster on Box Y Lucha talks about making a new mask for Angel Azteca, when he was returning to CMLL from AAA. There was an idea to freshen him up and give him a slightly different look, but they ended up sticking with the original. The mask ended up getting slightly modified, and used by someone else coming in from Promo Azteca who was getting a new gimmick – Ultimo Guerrero.

AAA posted a Pena bio on their news update. They’re running a tribute card to him – it’s not a TV taping and no matches are announced (I’m not entirely sure there will be matches), but the usual names should be there. They’ve also put a preview of tomorrow’s taping, with no lineup changes.

Monclova wrestlers are complaining about the local Box Y Lucha commission being completely worthless.

I totally forget about the Villano 3 chat at Box Y Lucha. They’ve posted the usual video clip. The poster they have up for Intocable is quite something.
