Estrellita champion, Oro/Casas, Fuerza Guerrera vs Black Terry, CMLL bodybuilding

CMLL (TUE) 11/27/2012 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara [Fuego en el Ring]
1) Infierno & Thunder Boy b Black Metal & Virgo
2) Esfinge & Smaker b Espectrum & Ráfaga
3) Espanto Jr., Hijo del Signo, Hooligan b Ángel Azteca Jr., Magnus, Pegasso
Espanto Jr.’s GDL debut
4) Estrellita b Princesa Blanca [MEX WOMEN]
Princesa Blanca came in as champion. Pegasso and Hijo del Signo were seconds. Estrellita surprised Blanca and pinned her in the first fall, Blanca won the second, Estrellita won the third with the Star Cross to win the championship. Estrellita celebrated big.
5) Ángel de Oro, La Sombra, Titán DQ Dragón Rojo Jr., Negro Casas, Psicosis
Negro Casas fouled Angel de Oro.

Estrellita’s been wrestling regularly since at least 2000, and this is her first championship win of any kind. (She’s not been in CMLL a lot of that time.) This ended Blanca’s near four year change; her title matches were good, but not especially frequent. Blanca gave Estrellita credit for being better on this night but also blamed a knee injury. Estrellita mentioned her recent injury absence wasn’t just due to the cut on her hand, but also an ankle injury. She spent her time out watching Blanca footage to look for a way to defeat her. Both talked about doing a hair vs hair match.

IWRG (THU) 11/29/2012 Arena Naucalpan [Black Terry Jr. (flickr), Estrellas del Ring]
1) Galaxie b Epidemia
Another spelling for Galaxy.
2) Dinamic Black & La Cobra b Alan Extreme & Eita
3) el Ángel b Eterno [IWRG IC MIDDLE]
Angel kept the title
4) Bestia 666, Damián 666, Fuerza Guerrera b Dr. Cerebro, Pantera, Veneno
666s were in their Xolo jerseys. Black Terry hit the ring post match to argue with Fuerza, probably about the last FILL show. Fresero Jr., in jeans and a jersey shirt, worked as a referee for this show and separated the two.
5) Black Terry, Negro Navarro, Pirata Morgan b Solar I, Super Astro, Ultraman [super libre]
remach from the previous week. Rudos took 2/3, Navarro pinning Solar. Fuerza hit the ring post match to challenge Terry to a singles match, and he accepted

Angel vs Eterno is up in three parts already.

Fresero Jr.’s father was a referee for AAA. IWRG only seems to have two referees, and it’s not clear if this a change of occupation or an emergency fill in situation. He should still make it rain as a referee.

CMLL held it’s annual bodybuilding contest yesterday.

Minis
1) Stukita – mini who has still yet to debut
2) Pequeno Olimpico
3) Pequeno Halcon – was very unhappy about finishing third and threw his trophy into an empty section of seats. Believed to be suspended for that, though he hasn’t been on cards for a couple weeks already.

Beginners (more of a weight distinction than a training one)
1) Flyer – Volador Jr’s nephew
2) Akuma
3) Super Halcon Jr.

Intermediate
1) Sensei
2) Guerrero Maya
3) Camorra

Advanced
1) La Sombra
2) Valiente
3) Tama Tonga

Women
1) Dark Angel – won for the seventh straight year, every year they’ve run this contest
2) Dalys la Caribena – second for the fourth straight year
3) Isis

The winners all came back for a final contest, and Sensei won that to become Mr. CMLL Absoluto. There was also an apparently unofficial Student group for those enrolled in CML classes. Aioria, who I’ve never heard of prior won. Second place went to Relampago, formerly of AAA and currently in IWRG, with IWRG opening match wrestler Epidemia finishing third.

Tonight’s the first half of Copa Junior. It’s a CMLL random tournament that doesn’t mean anything, but they like to spread out the wins as thinly as possible. Maybe someone who’s been near the top but hasn’t had a big win this year – Mephisto or Mascara Dorada? – will advance.

Rey Cometa either has a busy night or is missing a match tonight. He’s scheduled to main event a show in Queretaro, then wrestle in the tercera in Arena Mexico. I think it’s physically impossible to work both – there’s a 3 hour different start time, but more than 2 hours away from each other – so expect a sub tonight in CMLL.

AAA had a press conference for the 2012 Quien Pinta Por La Corona contest final. They hyped major surprises, then just tweeted out photos of people there. Maybe the major surprise is cameraphones.

LLF’s Perla Negra hurt her wrist, so tonight’s planned mask vs mask match with Lady Puma is off. LLF’s last show of the year is next week and Negra won’t be ready by then either, so the match is postponed indefinitely. The replacement match is Lady Puma versus a mystery woman.

Rob has the top 5 spots of the week.

stuff going on Sunday

(all times Central)
4pm CHIKARA iPPV (I ordered weeks ago without realizing I had other things to watch, oops – I can watch it later, it’ll work out)
4pm CMLL on EstrellaTV (which I usually just half pay attention to)
5pm CMLL on Terra with Terribile vs Sombra for the Heavyweight title.
(5pm Noche de Coliseo, though it seems in repeats)
6pm AAA Guerra de Titanes (time on the poster, maybe not so much)
6:3pm IWRG Prison Fatal

So. The plan is for a chat/live results this week, starting at 5pm and running until I have to stop. We’ll be talking the CMLL show, the AAA show and even the IWRG one if they continue sending out live results. Only the CMLL on Terra show will be available on the internet, so you may be very bored after 7:30pm. It’ll be a fun time until then!

By the way, tickets seem to be selling decently well for Guerra de Titanes. The closest ticket I could get on Ticketmaster was for the fourth ring around the building.

Lineup

CMLL (MON) 12/03/2012 Arena Puebla
1) Asturiano & Black Tiger vs Espiritu Maligno & King Jaguar
2) Astral vs Demus 3:16 [lightning]
3) Camaleón, Soberano Jr., Starman vs Bobby Zavala, Disturbio, Ramstein
4) Fuego, Pegasso, Stigma vs Bronco, Hijo del Signo, Nitro
5) Ángel de Oro, Delta, Guerrero Maya Jr. vs Euforia, Niebla Roja, Tiger
6) Atlantis, Marco Corleone, Máximo vs Mr. Niebla, Negro Casas, Último Guerrero

Bronco! Giant goofy horse might actually be back. The best part is one more guy who can prevent the Cancerberos and Tuareg from accidentally being put on the same team.

Astral and Demus could set up a title rematch.

Mistico suffers shoulder injury in Puebla, new CMLL tag champs, Fuerza vs Terry, Mesias, AYM,

IWRG FILL (TUE) 11/13/2012 Arena Naucalpan [Black Terry Jr. (flickr), Estrellas del Ring]
1) Caballero Cid, Driger, Obscurio b Mercenario de la Muerte, Principe Infernal, Skullmetal
2) Infierno Kid, Radical, Súper Black b Alas de Acero, Atomic Star, Xtreme Boy
3) Fly Star, Seiya, Serpiente de Oro b Blue Monsther, Power Bull, Ranchero
4) Araña de Plata Jr., Dragón Celestial, Galaxy b Blasfemia, Fulgore, Matrix Jr.
Blasfemia replaced Guerrero Mistico.
5) Boykot, Flemyzeer, Halcón Diabólico, Jhon Crazy, Kimby, Mr. Leo, Rey Espacial, Rey Tabú b Alan Extreme, Centvrión, Dinamic Black, Eita, Eterno, Imposible, Saruman, Violencia Jr. [Copa Higher Power]
FILL trainees vs Gimnasio Fuerza Konkreto (Fuerza Guerrera). Kimby impressed of the Fuerza guys. Match came down to Mr. Leo vs Centviron, with Fuerza intefering to give his guy the win. Black Terry was very unhappy, and their were rematches and other challenges made.

CMLL (MON) 11/12/2012 Arena Puebla [Porra Fresa]
1) Akron & Siki Ozama Jr. b Black Tiger & Blue Center
Rudos took 1/3.
2) Dalis la Caribeña, Lady Afrodita, Marcela b La Vaquerita, Mima Shimoda, Zeuxis
Tecnicos took 2/3, Marcela defeating Zeuxis for the win. Vaquerita, working against Afrodita, looked lost at times.
3) Skándalo b Metatrón [lightning]
Reyna Isis accompanied Skandalo. Skandalo won with the Skandalo Driver. Metatron had one of his better performances.
4) Hijo del Fantasma, Sagrado, Triton b Misterioso Jr., Namajague, Shigeo Okumura
Tecnicos took 1/3, Fantasma surprising Misterioso with a roll up.
5) La Sombra, Máximo, Rush DQ Tama Tonga, Terrible, Tiger
Tecnicos took 1/3, Terrible fouling Sombra in the third fall. Sombra challenged Terrible to a singles match, but Terrible just left.
6) Mephisto b Mistico
Mephisto won the first with a powerbomb, Mistico came back in the second with a torito. Mistico landed his rope crossing dive late in the ring, then landed a shooting star press once without being able to get the pin. Moments later, he went for another, but his feet hit the the ropes on the way down and Mistico crashed shoulder first into the mat. Mistico attempted to cover Mephisto anyway, but Mephisto put him in an armbar and Mistico immediately gave up. The doctor and Tirantes attended to Mistico after the match.

CMLL hasn’t said anything about Mistico’s status, but the local promoter in Durango says Mistico has suffered a shoulder injury and will not be wrestling at their show on Sunday, though he will be appearing to sign autographs. Hope he didn’t hurt his signing shoulder. Delta replaces him on that card. Mistico is supposed to be on Friday night’s Arena Mexico show, and no replacement has been announced yet.

CMLL (TUE) 11/13/2012 Arena Mexico [CMLL, Estrellas del Ring, Yahoo Deportes (Photos)]
1) Espanto Jr. & Herodes Jr. b Metatrón & Oro Jr.
2) Demus 3:16, Pequeño Olímpico, Pequeño Warrior b Astral, Bam Bam, Pequeño Halcón
Rudos took 1/3. Bam Bam’s latest return, though it ended with Demus dropping him with his piledriver so he could be gone again. Olimpico also submitted Ultimo Dragon.
3) Fuego, Stuka Jr., Triton DQ Hijo del Signo, Shigeo Okumura, Vangelis
Stuka & Okumura are feuding (or maybe this is the Coliseo tag team feud again.) Stuka beat fall 1, then the rudos were DQed for excessive violence in the second.
4) Blue Panther, Máscara Dorada, Valiente b Niebla Roja, Pólvora, Rey Escorpión
Straight falls for the tecnicos when the rudos fell apart. Polvora sided with Rey Escorpion and Niebla Roja wasa left without his mask.
5) Negro Casas b Ángel de Oro [lightning]
Negro continued his dominance over Angel de Oro with a win in 8:49.
6) Tama Tonga & Terrible b Atlantis & Diamante Azul [CMLL TAG]
Atlantis & Diamante Azul came in as champions, but Tonga & Terrible pulled the shocking upset, taking falls 1/3 to win the titles.

Aerostar, Dark Dragon and Fenix won the main event over Difunto I, Monje Negro Jr., and Potro Jr. by DQ in Monterrey, with Dark Dragon refused to help his teammates.

MedioTiempo has an interview with Mesias. He talks a bit about his match with Texano, but also calls LA Park his toughest rival since coming to Mexico, and trashes Carlito as someone’s been handing everything and used his influence to keep Mesias from going to WWE.

I will be losing AYM Sports from my cable system on 12/12. AYM has broadcasts Sobre el Ring (the Javier Llanes/Jaque Mate interview show) and various independent groups (Revolution Free Style! FULL!), but is most notable for broadcasting IWRG’s Sunday shows the last couple months. I’m going to miss those, there’s been some really great and fun matches during this short run. The show drives me crazy because I’m up until way too late to put it together for the Tuesday post, but I’ve been thrilled to share the matches with everyone else. We’ve got four more Mondays to go.

I think it may be a case where everyone in the United States is losing AYM; this is not a surprise, one of you mentioned a month back they tried to sign up to get the channel only to be told AYM was going away by their cable system. The channel that replaces it is “Latin American Sports“, and is owned by the same parent company, so they may have simply decided to change which channel they wanted to transmit to the US. AYM Sports itself will still keep broadcasting in Mexico and continue the lucha libre shows, I just won’t be able to share them. The channel description for Latin American Sports says it too broadcasts wrestling (possibly from Puerto Rico?), but does not say what. It’s supposedly already on DISH Network, but I can’t find a guide with a programming listing and there is no website.

Murder Clown is upset the Infierno Rockers would attack them from behind. That’s not very gentlemanly! There’s also talk about the Psycho Circus wanting the trios titles back. It’s seemed like AAA may be doing a Psycho Circus vs Consejo trios title rematch (with Silver defending the title instead of Texano), and that’s suggested in this article agian, but maybe it’ll turn out to be three way with the Rockers?

Joe Lider & Kaientai will face off in a hair vs mask match on NGX’s 10th anniversary show.

DTU luchador Tacubo will be given an award for his anti-bullying campagin.

R de Rudo has a podcast talking about Eddie Guerrero, 7 years after his passing. Perros del Mal will also discuss Eddie Guerrero on their podcast.

AAA’s website has an article about how AAAwesome AAA is. If they really want talk about how they have zero taboos, maybe they can mention Extreme Tiger leaving.

AAA also has part one and part two of their interview with Psycho Circus.

X-Project is doing it’s annual toy drive, this one for Fray Tormenta.

El Hijo del Santo was part of a press conference to promote a film festival in Mexico City later this month.

Lineups

CMLL

CMLL (TUE) 11/20/2012 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara
1) Halcón de Plata & Metatrón vs Exterminador & Magnum
2) Gallo, Sensei, Starman vs Bárbaro Cavernario, Cancerbero, Raziel
3) Dalis la Caribeña, Estrellita, Silueta vs La Comandante, Princesa Blanca, Zeuxis
4) Atlantis, Hijo del Fantasma, Máscara Dorada vs Morphosis, Psicosis, Tama Tonga
5) La Máscara vs Volador Jr.

This is the seventh La Mascara/Volador Jr. match this year, and third in Guadalajara. They’ve split the other two.

A increasingly rare Morphosis appearance! His first match in CMLL in two months, his first appearance in Guadalajara since February. Mophosis seems to spend most of his time in Texas/northern Mexico, where he’s still working as Histeria.

More loaded card than usual means Metatron is down to the opener here.

IWRG (SUN) 11/18/2012 Arena Naucalpan
1) Astro Rey Jr. & Serpiente de Oro vs Dragón Celestial & Epidemia
2) Cerebro Negro, Dr. Cerebro, Trauma II vs Carta Brava Jr., Eita, Oficial Fierro
3) Dinamic Black, Golden Magic, Saruman vs Alan Extreme, Imposible, Jack
4) Hijo de Pirata Morgan vs Veneno, Trauma I, Oficial AK47, Cien Caras Jr., Relámpago, Canis Lupus, Hijo de Máscara Año 2000 [#1 Contenders, Rey de Ring]
5) el Ángel vs Oficial 911 [IWRG IC WELTER]

It’s been a long six days since the last IWRG tournament. Relampago is going to keep going into these until he finally wins a match. Last #1 contenders match meant an immediate title match, not sure if that’s the same here.

911 vs Angel looks really good, as do the 2nd and 3rd match. It looked like Cerebro Negro was headed towards the rudo side in last weekend’s tournament, something to watch here. Interesting to see Trauma II scheduled for a segunda.

They’re doing a 3 for a price of 2 ticket deal.

12/14: GDL Festival (mask loss), Fuerza, lineups

indy (SAT) 12/13 Guadalajara Lucha Libre Festival [MT 1, 2, 3, ESTO, informador]
2) Pandita, Super Muneco, Super Pinocho b Coco Rojo, Coco Verde, Cocolores
3) Super Pinocho b Pandita [mask]
4) Solar I b Negro Navarro, Engendro
5) Cien Caras, Máscara Año 2000, Universo 2000 b Emilio Charles Jr., Scorpio Jr., Zumbido
6) Cibernetico, Rayo de Jalisco Jr., Tinieblas Sr. b Head Hunter I, LA Park, Monsther

The big news here: Super Pinocho was incensed with losing the second match, blamed Pandita and challenged him to an immediate mask match. Surprisingly enough, Pandita and the promoters said yes. Pinocho worked rudo and dominated Pandita (who was said to look bad and close to retirement) for the mask win. Pandita is Luis Hernandez Cruz, 28 years a wrestler.

Rayo beat Park in an exchange of fouls to take the main event. Dinamita cheated to beat the Guapos.

Meanwhile, the owner of Arena Emiliano Zapata says poor attendence at his show (400, less than half capacity) and for AAA’s show here on Day 1 was due to the ecnomic downturn.

Hijo del Avernos were all this is just the start of us taking over after winning the Leyenda de Plata.

Dark Angel talked about her career with El Universal; this version has a little bit more of the article, but you may prefer the first picture.

Al Filo Del Ring has lots on Fuerza Guerrera: the start of his career, his favorite move (half crab), being mistaken for a kidnapper, the possibility of nephew Furia Guerrera someday becoming Fuerza Guerrera II (greater than 0, surprisingly – Furia is said to have been working under names during his long abscene) and the strength of being an independent. This is a teaser for more in this week’s Guerreros del Ring.

Blue Panther will do a web chat on Monday @ TelevisaDeportes.

Juvi is still talking up his past and possible future feud with Perro Aguayo Jr.. Please book it for him already.

SuperLuchas continues their series of look back at Vampiro with his 1992 year and his hair match with Pirata Morgan

kcidis notes AAA cartoon trading cards as a giveaway with cookies, and how the illustrations have “more muscles than Batista and Gronda put together”. If a product licensed by AAA spells a member of the Dark Family as “Spiritu”, is that the official version or can I continue randomly alternating that version with Espiritu?

WagnerMania looks at the 2nd day of the GDL Lucha Libre Festival

Accion showed the CMLL main event (UG nailed Mistico with the canvas, because he was readying it before Mistico dove) and the cage match from GdT (looked like Super Fly might have helped Porky climb up and escape). WWE match was Misterio vs Kofi Kingston. (There was a mixed match, but no woman vs woman match on RAW this week.)

LuchaWorld has Robert on 05/06/07 AAA, IWRG 05/17/07, CMLL 05/12,

There’s also KrisZ’s news from Friday and Saturday

Ohtani’s Jacket watches Brazo de Oro vs Pirata Morgan for the NWA LH Title in 1989, Brazo de Plata/El Brazo vs Verdugo/Hombre Bala in a double hair match from the same show and Eddie & Santo vs Espanto/Estarada in 1993 AAA

Lineups (heavily helped by Super Luchas #294)

CMLL (THU) 12/18 Arena Monterrey
1) Mascara Dorada, Máscara Púrpura, Máximo vs Arkangel de la Muerte, Dragon Rojo Jr., Virus
2) Dos Caras Jr., Héctor Garza, Mark Corleone vs Negro Casas, Rey Bucanero, Terrible
3) Blue Panther vs Tiger Universitario, Diluvio Negro II [hair]
4) Místico vs Último Guerrero, Volador Jr., Diluvio Negro I, Mr. Niebla, Difunto II, Averno, La Sombra, Rey Hechicero, Valiente, Misterioso II, Sangre Azteca [mask]

This is the infamous show where they promoted the main event mask match without mentioning any of the local wrestlers (who are sure to lose.)

indy (FRI) 12/19 Feria de la Pinata, Acolman, EdM
1) Luic Cirio, Manny Cirio, Tony Cirio vs Insecto, Mosca, Principe Celeste
2) La Parkita & Octagoncito vs Mini Ciber & Mini Scorpio
3) Espantapajaros, Pegasso, Rey Cometa vs Barba Roja, Pirata Morgan Jr., Toxico AAA
4) Antifaz del Norte & Ogun vs Monsther & Pierko el Boricua
5) Cibernetico & Dr. Wagner Jr. vs Head Hunter I & Head Hunter II

Wonder if Rey Cometa & Pegasso will still be working this show. Cibernetico & Wagner are working a lot of days this week.

IWRG (FRI) 12/19 Arena Naucalpan
1) Freelance, Jack, Zatura vs Oficial 911, Oficial AK47, Oficial Fierro
2) Hijo del Cien Caras & Mascara Ano 2000 Jr. vs Scorpio Jr. & Zumbido [IWRG IC TAG]

This is also the yearly award show.

CMLL WFS (FRI) 12/19 Velvet Night Club, DF
1) Bam Bam vs Pequeño Damian 666 [CMLL MINI]
2) Dark Angel vs La Nazi, Princesa Sujei
3) Dos Caras Jr., Mark Corleone, Shocker vs ?, Rey Bucanero, Último Guerrero

This card is ever evolving. I’d wager the mystery rudo ends up being Black Warrior, since this is otherwise the same exact main event they’re running in Arena Mexico.

I’m spelling Corleone correctly now, right?

CMLL (SUN) 12/21 Arena Coliseo
1) Hijo del Faraon & Pegasso vs Camorra & Semental
2) Fabián el Gitano, Leono, Tony Rivera vs Arkangel de la Muerte, Dr. X, Loco Max
3) Mascarita Dorada, Nino de Oro, Shockercito vs Pequeño Universo 2000, Pequeño Warrior, Pierrothito
4) Mascara Dorada, Máximo, Sagrado vs Black Warrior, Dragon Rojo Jr., Sangre Azteca
5) Mark Corleone, Shocker, Toscano vs Ephesto, Mephisto, Texano Jr.

Okay, there has to be something going on with the minis for that match to be tercera. Lightweight defense coming up early 2009? Meanwhile, one wonders if Sangre Azteca and Dragon Rojo can coexist five days after being in a title match. Pegasso being all the way down in the novato match is a disappointing on the surface, but Hijo del Faraon isn’t there normally so perhaps there’s something holiday wise going on, a card change coming.

IWRG (SUN) 12/21 Arena Naucalpan
1) Eragon vs Judas el Traidor
2) Gemelo Fantastico I & Gemelo Fantastico II vs Fantasma de la Ópera & Nemesis IWRG
3) Freelance, Jack, Pendulo vs Dr. Cerebro, Trauma I, Trauma II
4) Head Hunter I & Veneno vs Hijo del Cien Caras & Mascara Ano 2000 Jr.
5) Scorpio Jr. vs Máscara Año 2000, Fuerza Guerrera, Tetsuya, Arlequin, Cerebro Negro, Pierroth II, Zumbido, Oficial 911, Multifacético [cage, hair, mask]

Arlequin lost his mask just six weeks ago. I would guess he, Tetsuya or Pierroth would be the most likely suspects.

11/18: Juarez, IWRG

AAA (SUN) 11/16 Poliforo Juan Gabriel, Ciudad Juarez [Albert Cerda]
1) el Romano & Hermes Jr. b ?? & Rey Halcon
2) La Perucha, Magico, Samuari b ?, ??, ???
3) Bello Armando, Chucky, Rocky Santana b Maquina 45 Jr., Peluchin I, Peluchin II
4) Fabi Apache, Gran Apache, Mari Apache b Cinthia Moreno, Oriental, Sexy Star
5) Killer Clown, Psycho Clown, Zombie Clown b Aerostar, Gato Eveready, Super Porky
6) Alan Stone, El Elegido, La Parka Jr. b Electro Shock, Guerrero Escarlata, Mesias

Zorro was supposed to be on this show, was not. This is the third straight time here that’s happened. Mesias and Electro didn’t get along, so they’re building the tecnico turn on spots shows. Announcer introduced the Psycho Circus as the previous set of the clowns, so they punked him out after the match.

IWRG (SUN) 11/16 Arena Naucalpan [SoloLuchas]
1) Halcon 2000 b Avisman
2) Chico Che & Eragon b King Drako & Nemesis IWRG
3) Arlequin & el Hijo del Pierroth b Máscara Año 2000 & Mascara Ano 2000 Jr.
4) Head Hunter I, Head Hunter II, Toxico AAA b Super Astro, Tinieblas Jr., Zatura
5) Fuerza Guerrera b Black Terry [IWRG IC WELTER, hair]

Main event ended up being title vs hair. Terry took the first, Fuerza took the second. In the third, the seconds got involved – Cerebro Negro for Black Terry and Oficial Fierro for Fuerza. To end it, Black Terry got the Fuerza with the backcracker, Fuerza got his foot on the rope, Cerebro Negro attacked Fuerza and got thrown out by the referee. While the referee was busy there, Oficial 911 ran in and hit Black Terry with a chair. Fuerza covered for the win. SoloLuchas says it’s a MOTYC and talks to Fuerza about the win.

Head Hunters forked Zatura. Arlequin/Hijo del Pierroth won with Pierroth II showing up to help.

SoloLuchas always has an interview with IWRG referee Ruvinskis and Mascara de Oro Jr.. Before he was a wrestler, Ruvinskis was the original Mascara de Oro, so he’s handed down the gimmick to his son (who wants revenge on the Head Hunters for forking his father.)

ESTO hypes up tonight’s CMLL show as the return of Negro Casas

Another article on the next Todos x el Todos show.

Al Filo del Ring interviews Rayo de Jalisco Jr., who recently fell out of the ring in a match and ended up with 32 stiched and a neck collar. He hopes to be back in the ring in two weeks. Rayo’s eternal tease of returning to Arena Mexico now is projected at January, because he was busy in Japan earlier. There’s also an interview with Hijo de Pierroth & Arlequin, who are now getting their title shot on 11/23.

SuperLuchas looks back at the Killer vs Villano III (1992) and writes about Blue Panther joining a campagin against violence against women.

LuchaWorld has Robert on 07/22/06 CMLL and 07/07/06 AAA and KrisZ’s news update.

Victor recaps this week’s FSE show.

Ohtani’s Jacket watched 10/03/2008 IWRG, Blue Panther vs Villano V in Arena Puebla and points towards Black Terry vs Negro Navarro on YouTube.

LA Park and Tinieblas headline an indy shows in Odessa Friday and in El Paso this Sunday.

10/23: Perros, GDL, Charly Manson, ByL

Took a couple days, but there’s finally more about Perro Aguayo Jr. He spoke to both Reforma and SoloLuchas. Between both of the articles, it sounds like this is a full split to form a different organization, but Perro’s still on good terms with CMLL. (Perro says he owns the “Perros del Mal” name, which would certainly be indicative of this.) SoloLuchas says the PdM is right next to Arena Mexico and CMLL and PdM wrestlers could work against each other on shows (probably similar to how indy guys like Intocable and Demon are employed by local promoters who also bring in CMLL wrestlers.)

watch out for flying Sombras/CMLL
watch out for flying Sombras/CMLL

No one besides Perro is mentioned by name as going with his group. It’s only clear that it’s not expected to be the whole current group and will probably include those not in the group (Perro mentions bringing in tecnicos of good quality and recruiting worthwhile foreigners.) Only Perro says he won’t be working on CMLL shows anymore; it’s possible all the rest might still work CMLL TV and have the rest of the days booked out of their own office, as this idea was originally mentioned. We’re still grasping for details – no first show is mentioned, there’s obviously a press conference to officially announce this on the way but not sure when that is either.

CMLL (TUE) 10/21 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara
6) Metalik & Rayman b Damián 666 & Mr. Águila
7) Héctor Garza & Marco Corelone DQ Terrible & Texano Jr.

Perros are still working their normal schedule. In the main event, Terrible faked a foul to get the win. Corelone was angry and kicked the ref after the match.

CMLL (TUE) 10/21 Arena Mexico
1) Angel de Oro & Trueno b Inquisidor & Pólvora – now it can told.

Box Y Lucha posted a lot of articles from it’s last issue
Charly Manson hopes to be back in the ring by December, but may not make the end of the season. Charly says here that he’s not planning on supporting either Cibernetico or Chessman, instead to go his own way and perhaps start his own faction.
Dorian Roldan says WWE will barely affect lucha libre, because it’s a different audience. Dorian also says the Abismo Negro gimmick was one of Antonio Pena’s creations, so it should be with someone who deserves it (Black Abyss.)
Amapola says she hurt her knee just the day before she lost her hair to Lady Apache. What tragic luck. Then she hurt her other knee compensating, which sounds about right. She wants some revenge on Lady Apache when she comes back.
Villano V says Ultimo Guerrero is a hypocrit, for feuding with Blue Panther and then suddenly deciding to defend him. Ultimo Guerrero says the Villanos just went too far.
– Talking with Rocky and X-Pac about Romero’s jump, the author asked about a rumor of Juventud Guerrera being another member; X-Pac: “Juvi stinks – if he comes back to AAA, he won’t be with us.”
La Parkita says the AAA one (him) is the only true one and the one who owns the gimmick. The other wrestler who worked as Parkita apparently claims he owns the gimmick, but this one says it’s untrue.

Villanos press tour continues in AAA, who they vow to beat any trio. They’re also as confused as to what side Atlantis is supposed to be on, since he’s from Guadalajara.

SoloLuchas has a interview with Ephesto, who recalls his Hombre sin Nombre days (“dos mesas”) as a lot shorter than I do. He’d like a main event singles match with a star so people would see him as a star. That sounds rational.

Super Fly wants to face Electroshock in a retirement match. That sounds irrational.

Fuerza Guerrera wants to face Hijo del Santo in a mask match. That sounds unlikely. Fuerza tries to make his case, though, saying no one can truly be invincible after Blue Panther lost so maybe he’d unmask Santo. If any has a shot, Fuerza says, it should be one of him, Negro Casas or Blue Panther, since they’ve been Santo’s best rivals. (I know who’s not going back to NWA Mexico!) Fuerza pictures this as the main event of another Todos x el Todos show (big stadium show = $$$, enough he might actually do it.)

SuperLuchas talks to the Siniestro on the NWA cards, who is apparently a new person under that name. He says he’s wrestled as Horus in AAA for 3 years, but I can’t find any record of that name; misspelling? He was out of the business, but they were looking for a muscular guy and he fit the bill. The character itself is based on a Mexican comic book character (and not the DC one.)

Ovaciones has an interview with Mujer Demente, who’s reached 16 years of wrestling.

Solo Luchas
Solo Luchas

IWRG (THU) 09/25 Arena Naucalpan [SuperLuchas #283
1) DVD b Anubis
2) Gemelo Fantastico I & Gemelo Fantastico II b Eragon & Pendulo
3) Cerebro Negro, Dr. Cerebro, Sauron b Freelance, Jack, Zatura
4) el Hijo Del Anibal, Latino, Multifacético b Black Terry, el Hijo del Pierroth, Veneno
5) Juventud Guerrera & Zumbido b Fuerza Guerrera & Shocker

Guerrera turned out to be true to their word – they refused to fight each other during the match…at least until Fuerza surprised Juvi with an armbar to win a fall. After the match, the Guerreras turned on the ex-Guapos.

Latino is a Villalobos wrestler, a Latin Lover knock off. Dr. Cerebro still wants that title shot against Freelance. People trip over title shots in IWRG, I don’t know what’s taking that one so long.

There’s no big article places, but this week’s SuperLuchas also notes in a couple places that there’s a unhappiness with TV Azteca airing WWE SmackDown on Friday nights, feeling it could damage Arena Meixco business.

Villano V is livid with Mistico for trying to take away from his victory by suggesting there might have been a Villano switch. V5 doesn’t want to wait until next Anniversary, he wants to face Mistico right now – Mistico may be hurt but so is V5 – so he can take his mask and maybe break his leg.

Meanwhile, Blue Panther does not like the idea of a career vs career match with the Villanos.

Fabian el Gitano opened a gym yesterday, and the opening was well attended by CMLL wrestlers. I think I speak for everyone where I wish the gym is a tremendous success, to the point where Fabian is so busy counting his money that he no longer has a chance to wrestle. Interesting side notes: Dragon Rojo Jr. showed up as Diamante Negro for reasons he didn’t feel like explaining coherently (he says it was to be confusing, and it was) and Okumura showed up to remind Fabian they still have issues. Fabian vowed to break Okumura’s other arm given the chance, and promised to not lose like Mictlan if Diamante Negro ever put up his mask agianst his.

Villano III and Tinieblas (Sr.) talk to El Heralado de Tabasco. Tinieblas says he’s considering retiring, but he’d want to have a grand retirement show with eeveryone who he’s ever known. V3 says Atlantis and Ultimo Guerrero are little girls afraid he’s going to take their masks.

SuperLuchas has lots from the Lucha Libre Fan Fest: general milling about, Villano V, and Dark Angel. They’ve also got footage from LA Park in Spain.

In Ovaciones, Pantera Surena says she’s returning to the ring (for Martha’s group) and wants to put together a group of mini luchadoras.

AAA has a note about wrestlers help out at tree planting chairty event. The Psycho Cirucs have now planted 200 tress without being defeated!

LuchaWorld has Robert on 03/25 CMLL TV (pondering the existence of Princesa Blanca) and Rey dey Reyes 06 as well as KrisZ’s news update.

WrestlingObserver recaps this week’s AAA TV show.

WagnerMania’s posted a Blue Demon Jr. interview.

Lineups

IWRG (THU) 10/02 Arena Naucalpan
1) Eragon vs Epidemia
2) Pendulo & Terror Negro vs Judas el Traidor & Sauron
3) Freelance, Pegaso Extreme, Rey Cometa vs Oficial 911, Oficial AK47, Oficial Fierro
4) el Hijo Del Anibal, Latino, Multifacético vs Black Terry, el Hijo del Pierroth, Ghost Rider
5) Shocker & Zumbido vs Fuerza Guerrera & Toscano

I think Shocker and Toscano have met before. That’s the ex-Fuerza Aerea guys working the second match as IWRG approaches it’s (apparent) goal of using 300 different wrestlers this year.

NWA Mexico (SAT) 10/04 Gimnasio Juan de la Barrera
1) Turbo vs Black Thunder
2) Skayde vs Dr. Cerebro
3) Super Muneco vs Pierko el Boricua
4) Incógnito vs Danger
5) Negro Navarro vs Solar I, Shu el Guerrero, Black Terry
6) Blue Demon Jr. vs El Dandy
7) Juvi, Mil Mascaras, Tarzan Boy vs Antifaz, Hator, Head Hunter I

Slightly adjust from when it was announced – No Shocker and no Cien Caras.

CMLL (SUN) 10/05 Arena Coliseo
1) Leono, Metálico, Tigre Blanco vs Ephesto, Vangelis, Virus
2) Fabián el Gitano, Stuka Jr., Tony Rivera vs Halcon Negro, Loco Max, Satánico
3) Grey Shadow, La Sombra, Volador Jr. vs Damián 666, Mephisto, Mr. Águila
4) Blue Panther, Dos Caras Jr., Dr. Wagner Jr. vs Atlantis, Black Warrior, Mr. Niebla

Not only do we have four matches (they’ve got a filler one for the 5th), but also Halcon Negro continues his non appearances. Ephesto and Virus working the opener doesn’t seem to make a lot of sense either, so maybe there’s more of a shuffle coming here.

The best part of this Halcon Negro lineup stuff is it’s not just some pre-release version of the lineup going out to the magazines, it’s what CMLL is posting on their website every week.

CMLL (SUN) 10/05 Arena Coliseo Guadalajara
1) Quazar vs Valentin Mayo
2) Idolo & Nube Roja vs Exterminador & Güero Loco
