AAA says Latin Lover is scheduled to appear at tonight’s AAA taping. I was starting to wonder who Latin would be parodying, but it occurs to me that maybe the parody will be of Latin Lover.

Electroshock talks about the Lucha Libre Expo, his career, his time outside of AAA (“I was wrong, I needed help, therapy”), and haters on the internet.

(Reforma viz Jazzo) Cibernetico talks about making peace with the Perros, but also calls them all babies. I don’t think that’s going to work. The whole back and forth still seems like an angle being worked thru the press rather than Cibernetico leaving the promotion.

Kcidis illustrates Dos Caras Jr., the applause seeking rudo. Maybe CMLL thought they needed a new Wagner?

Hablando de Catch, which confused me this morning with it’s new template, takes photos of lucha merchandise outside of arenas and a preview of a series of CMLL books on the history of lucha libre. That should be good.

The Las Vegas Sun had lots of fun at Sundy’s show with Super Crazy & Super Parka and took some pictures.

Paraiso de la Lucha Libre has photos of a sparely attended benefit shot for Ricky Ricon.

Box Y Lucha #2919 has Mistico’s hand print (slow week?). Inside, Alebrije, Cuije, Nygma and Angel all talk about leaving AAA. (Is it time for a new list?) Also, It reads like Valiente was asked to lose weight if he’s going to get pushed. He’s has dropped a bunch of weight. In today’s Ovaciones, Hijo de Perro Aguayo announced he’ll return to the ring on 08/03. No match is announced, but Perro would enjoy teaming with the Perros against Mistico. That’s sure possible.

Speaking of strange people who want to challenge Mistico, the goofy band which was calling him out before, Loco Solitario, announced they want Mistico to have to sing when he loses. Mistico responded by uping the stakes, exactly as he usually does – Mistico will sing and unmask if he loses to the band leader, but if (when) he wins, everyone in the band has to shave their head. Mistico is very anti-hair.

Speaking of, no Black Warrior at TripleMania makes his disappearance all the more strange.

Any SOLID word on a new TV show I’m not aware of?

Well, apparently, yes.

AULL on US TV.

If you have access to one of these stations, you get AULL’s Lucha Libre show on Saturday
KTNC-TV in San Francisco / Sacramento, California – 4 PM
KAZH in Houston, Texas – 3 PM
KAZR-CA in Reno, Nevada – 4 PM
KAZO-LP in Omaha, Nebraska – SUNDAY 3 AM

Show is listed as two hours long.

These are all small, low power, former Azteca America stations, so you may need to hunt around to find the right channel number on your system. It looks like they started showing AULL last Saturday, when they dropped the Azteca affiliation.

(No, I can not believe Omaha is getting lucha libre and you’re not.)

Those are former Azteca America channels. If you check out the sports section of the Azteca America site (and have WMP installed), you can see video of last Tuesday’s Coliseos how. What does this mean? I have no idea, but they caption it as being on DeporTV America, which is available on Azteca America stations. May just be a 3 minute clip piece talking about lucha libre, but I’m going to check the show on this week just to see. It’s on Sunday afternoon.

03/13 and 03/18 Arena de Chicago shows

Arenas de Chicago lists shows this week with Blue Demon Jr., LA Park, Electroshock, and Hijo de Cien Caras. There’s the normal Sunday show at Congress Theater, but they also list a show in Round Lake on Tuesday.

That’s all I got about that show – Dave Meltzer posted an street address last week, but that isn’t a street in Round Lake. I’m far more likely to go the Tuesday show if I go to either one, but obviously it’s gonna be a tough one if I don’t know where (or when) it is.

I sent an e-mail to the promotion, so I’ll update this if I get any info.

The website also lists a 04/08 show, presumbably at Congress.

Black Warrior and Mistico signed a lot of autographs while in Tabasco this weekend, and occasionally held up large banners. Didn’t see results for this show yet

Anyway, the biggest news of the day is surely that Flecha and Sombra de Plata are feuding, if the report can be believed. Flecha faked a foul here. Astro Boy and Averno were added to the main event, and the finish was the finish you know and love.

Negro Casas and Texano are headed back to Japan next month, with Texano getting a title match against Minoru for the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship. This title match is out of nowhere, and I thought this was just a case of “Japan loves cowboys”, but no, there’s a ISSUE here

Minoru explained that when he went to Mexico around four years ago, he and Texano developed an unusual hatred for each other and that Texano tricked him when telling him directions and Minoru ended up in a taxi for about five hours. If he defeats Texano, he wants the young Mexican to pay him back the taxi fare.

So I guess Minoru has heat with Texano. How much is 5 hours of taxi fare in Mexico City? We may have to open up a collection box.

Electro gets his title shot versus Canek on 02/04; I’m shocked they’ve announced the date. Trios champs lost the tercera when Fantasma piledrove Suicida, which will do it to you every time.

Ovaciones’ preview of IWRG’s Sunday card says the Corp/tecnicos atomicos has been changed to a trios match for the belts.

AAA’s redesigned their site. It’s still not great, but it’s better than a few hours ago when they had some completely unreadable buttons up. They didn’t actually add much of new content.

– Cibernetico says the people like them because he’s real, and he’s says what they want to say, to anyone. Ciber echos the “Latin Lover’s forgotten his people” and drops Kawaghi’s name.
– The Villanos share their memories of Villano I. Villano III’s stories all are about winning street fights against thugs with superior numbers.
– India Sioux talks about her start in lucha libre. She’s going be in Japan from 01/23 to 01/30 (or 02/01 by the time she’s back). CMLL.com says Marcela and Hiroka are going as well.
– Pirata Morgan reminds us that the eye patch is not a work, he really has one eye. But he also explains he’s strengthened that one eye so much, he has perfect peripheral vision. That’s why he’s the best in the world.
– Pirata Morgan has a hot daughter, which just boggles my mind. Perla Negra is training (apparently while not wearing much if you believe these pictures), but not yet wrestling.

In today’s Ovaciones, Coco Rojo and Super Muneco hype up this weekend’s VIP show by talking about having a mask match…sometime later. For now, it’ just a singles match.

…so CMLL is totally running the week before. I wonder what they’ll do in a Arena Coliseo Monterrey that week.

Tickets range between $23 up to $183 US. I think Chris Benoit is the biggest lucha libre name value draw included in the list of people on this tour (subject to change); Chavo’s there too, but he hasn’t had much of a Mexican career. They’re going after a different fanbase, so maybe that’ll be fine, but it didn’t seem like things were strong enough last time to do two shows in the same city. Rey Mysterio is not listed as participating at this time.

Sunday is Brazo de Plata’s 30 year anniversary of starting his lucha libre career.
