Mex: 07/01
US: 07/21

AAA says this is the last TV taping of June. They’ve updated their upcoming card section, but do not have a listing for the next taping.

Cibernetico, not scheduled for this show, intefered in the main event to help the tecnicos win and challenge Mesias to “Lucha en Jaula del Infierno”. I hope they actually light a cage on fire. I’m not really sure about Ciber’s plan here – Mesias already survived being burned up once.

Octagon replaced Juvi, who’s injury on the last set of tapings was apparently just an angle to excuse him to tour Italy here. If it was just one TV taping, you think they would have not bothered, so he must be missing some spot shows too. Usual Fuerza/Octagon stuff.

Scoria got carried out after an move with Extreme Tiger went badly for him. Women’s tag was set up for an Apache/Hamada feud – I would’ve figured Moreno/Hamada, since Gran Apache has plenty on his plate at the moment. Segunda ended when Laredo Kid tried to superplex Apache and Apache shoved him off and hit his finish. No details about the opener.

05/23: Coliseo, La Parka Jr., LdP change, NWA tournament, AULL anniversary show, Guadalajara, Monterrey

CMLL (TUE) 05/22 Arena Coliseo [ova]
1) Mini Olimpico & Ultimo Dragoncito b Mini Damian 666 & Mini Halloween
2) Sensei, Stuka Jr., Trueno b Artillero, Jeque, Super Comando
3) Tigre Blanco, Tigre Metalico, Tony Rivera b Dr. X, Loco Max, Nitro
4) Ephesto, Okumura, Sangre Azteca b Fabian el Gitano, Felino, Mictlan
5) Atlantis, Ultimo Guerrero, Universo 2000 DQ Dos Caras Jr., Rey Bucanero, Volador Jr.

Main event was all pushing Ultimo Guerrero vs Volador Jr., with Ultimo ripping Volador’s mask and faking a foul for victory. In the segunda, Starman was replaced by Stuka, and Jeque filled in for Ramstein, so the Jeque/Stuka feud was back for at least one night.

In it’s recap of AAA’s 05/20 TV Taping, Ovaciones states La Parka Jr.’s rehab is not going well, he’s not close to being cleared, and will be out longer than expected.

This week’s Leyenda de Plata lineup has changed. As expected, Mistico is out of the tournament itself, moved to the main event in Marco Corelone’s spot (so they can begin teasing Aguila/Mistico for 06/01.) Sagrado takes his place, and since we’re not actually rebooking anything after lineup changes, he’s the heavy favorite to win. Texano replaced La Mascara, who’s out hurt.

Sicodelico Jr. will be part of the NWA World Heavyweight Championship Tournament. (Oddly, there’s a video promo with Nicho challenging for the belt, but not Sicodelcio. Plans change.) It’s a 16 man tournament, and he’s got to face someone named “Roughneck Ryan”, who’s theoretically one of the top 16 contenders in all the world despite being named “Roughneck Ryan”. Also, I’m not sure why two guys from the Texas area are having a first round match in Tennessee, but them there’s the breaks. If Sicodelico Jr. moves on, and gosh I hope he doesn’t lose to Roughneck Ryan, he’ll probably face Claudio Castagnoli and I would totally endorse that match happening. If Sicodelico Jr. wins the NWA Title, I think we’ll have to change the “Did the Gran Alternativa win lead him onto bigger things?” bit on the wiki to a Yes.

The word on the street – people all over the streets are talking about the NWA title tournament, naturally – is Byran Danielson will win end up winning the tournament. (Though now that even I know, it’ll be switched.) In a recent interview with Figure Four, Danielson talked a bit about wanting to do a stretch of wrestling in Mexico to learn how to wrestle lucha – he’s worked one Toryumon Mexico show, but that’s about it. If Bryan Danielson wins the NWA Title, CMLL absolutely must bring him in, because that’d be the awesomest thing possible ever. I’d be cool too if it was Claudio or Sicodelico and I’d understand if Danielson’s NOAH tieup means he’s got to AAA (because that’d could brilliantly insane), but just the concept of Danielson with the NWA Heavyweight Belt taking on, say, Mistico would be so fun, and probably draw. I think the NWA name actually might mean more in Mexico than it does in the US, because the Light Heavyweight title has fared quite a bit better than Heavyweight one over the last 18 years.

AULL (SAT) 05/19 Arena Lopez Mateos [KrisZ]

There’s a billion photos of this show over at El Martinete. AULL will be hosting a benefit show for El Signo on 07/01, who needs money for spinal surgery.

4) Damian 666, Mr. Aguila, Terrible b Hijo de Lizmark, Vampiro, Volador Jr.

In the main, Terrible pinned Vampiro once again after a foul. Rayman & Sagrado want a shot at the Cien Caras Junior brothers Occidente Tag titles.

4) Ku Kluk Klan I & Super Muenco vs Hijo de Rey Misterio & Ninja [ri]
5) Blue Demon Jr., Medico Asesino Jr., Rey Misterio vs Cien Caras Jr., Espectro Jr., Nicho

This is being promoted at Medico Asesino Jr.’s retirement match.

Medio Tiempo has a long interview/biography of Cibernetico on their site. Being an antihero and all, he doesn’t understand how parents would allow their children to be fans of his, though he gets why kids might be fans anyway.

(Notimex) A new lucha libre gym was opened in the Jardin Balbuena section of Mexico City.

Either this week’s GdR review or the opener y’all want to hear about will be posted later tonight – that’s the plan, anyway.

05/20 AAA TV Taping Lineup (Morelia, Michoacan)

Update: The Mexipowers/Sect match is now for the Atomicos titles, as anticipated. Also, Aero Star continues filling it for the MIA Rey Cometa.

Previous: 04/27, 05/06 (lineup), 05/12 (lineup)

Odd that AAA posted the TV taping for two weeks from now, and not the results from last night yet. Eh.

Chessman (named spelled wrong on AAA’s site) and Konnan are seconds for the main event. I presume this match means Chessman loses the match the week before. This show is subtitled Gran Tracion. Judging by last year, this means NO ONE TURNS. I dunno.

Interesting to see Juvi still with the Mexican Powers here. That’s about all I got.

They worked an angle off Nicho’s firing. Konnan came oout early in the show, and protested Nicho being fired, seeing as he was an indy wrestler allied with the Legion, not an AAA one, so how could AAA fire him? Konnan vowed to cause chaos until he got a face to face in ring discussion with an AAA offical. Before the semimain, Konnan got that discussion – with Cibernetico, who decided he was good enough. Cibernetico claimed Nicho was irresponsible and a coward, so he ran. On the other hand, Cibernetico was happy Konnan didn’t run, because that would mean Cibernetico could end him for good. Unlike all the foreign guys who Konnan has brought into to end Cibernetico, Cibernetico was going to get the job done on Konnan.

Main event had interference, but the Hell Brothers ended up winning. Zorro won the semimain with a foul on Fuerza (I think), and then Fuerza and Octagon brawled. Ozz pinned Laredo Kid in the atomico, and Laredo had to be stretchered out.

The mystery team in the segunda was – uh, no one. Exciting! Gran Apache beat Oriental, so we might have a mixed tag title defense coming up. After the minis won the opener, Kenzo and Mesias beat them up to set up Konnan’s first bit.

Next:
– 04/15 @ Boca del Rio Veracruz; I’m guessing we don’t get a lineup this week
– 04/20 @ Xalapa
04/27 @ Hidalgo

Bonus:

For the first time I can recall, AAA also posted detailed house show previews on their webpage – they’ve been nondescript listings previously. They don’t actually say much, but…

AAA (FRI) 04/06 Arena Azteca Budokan Lineup
1) Canibal & Kaori vs Takamura & Takuya Lee
2) Kumo & Maxima vs Galactico & Skyderman
3) Mascarita Sagrada & Octagoncito vs Mini Apache & Mini Cibernetico
4) Crazy Boy, Joe Lider, Oriental vs Escoria, Ozz, Scoria
5) Chessman & Cibernetico vs La Parka Jr. & Super Porky

Funny thing is, they’ve already posted the 04/13 lineup here. There’s not much related between the two, except Maxima and Skyderman are apparently feuding.

The other lineup is the 04/03 Feria Internacional del Caballo one. The preview talks about AAA running this building for 20 years, which…no. There’s a math issue there.

03/25 AAA TV Results

previous: 03/10, 03/18 (Rey de Reyes), 03/19

AAA TV (SUN) 03/25 Plaza de Toros de Tula, Hidalago [triplea.com]
1) Gallego & Mr. Cóndor b Chiva Rayada I & Chiva Rayada II
2) Crazy Boy, Joe Lider, Psicosis b Alan, Billy Boy, Decnnis
3) Cinthia Moreno, Faby Apache, Miss Janeth, Rossy Moreno, Sexi Star, Tiffany b Estrellita, Joseline, La Chola, La Diabolica, La Hechicera, Lady Rabbit, Lola Gonazlez, Martha Villalobos, Mujer Demente, Vicki Carranza [Reina de Reinas, semifinal]
4) Alan Stone, Hator, Scorpio Jr., Zumbido b Alberije, Intocable, Oriental, Zorro
5) Tiffany b Cinthia Moreno and Fabi Apache and Miss Janeth and Rossy Moreno and Sexi Star [Reina de Reinas, final]
6) Kenzo Suzuki b Cibernetico and La Parka Jr. [bull terrier]

Airs
Mexico: 04/08
US: 04/24
(I think I’ve got these right now. Links are to full TV listings.)

Looks like Nicho is indeed done with the company (for now). No mention of him was made in the results. Kenzo replaced him in the main event. Cibernetico and La Parka tried to get along, but it all fell apart again. Pres Roldan may have suspended both of them for a month. That’s kinda rough.

The Guapos now have their own mascot, Guapito. I wonder if it’s a red monkey. (No pictures yet.) Scorpio Jr. and Guapito wasted no time in starting a feud with Alebrije and Cuije.

The Reina de Reinas final was six women this year, probably so they could get all three Brujas in against three other people. Not three pople who got along – Sexi Star and Faby are still feuding. Faby beat Sexi, Cinthia defeated Rossy, Janeth beat Cinthia, Fabi beat Janeth, and Tiffany beat Fabi, with some help from Sexi Star. Tiffany’s now a four time Reina de Reinas winner.

Billy Boy was not in the mood for fighting, which is kinda bad when you have a match. This caused the loss, and also seemed to cause the break up of the Barrio Boys, though it may not be officially over yet.

03/03 AAA TV Results

Updated on 03/07

These may be updated later in the week, after TripleA posts their version and I get corrections.

previous: 02/09, 02/16, 02/23

AAA TV (SAT) 03/03 Plaza de Toros La Concordia [El Volador @ Satanico’s Mansion]
1) Estudiante, La Maravilla, Ray Richard b ?, ??, Rey Cobra
2) Fabi Apache, Gran Apache, Mini Charly Manson b Billy Boy, Mascarita Divina, Sexy Star
3) Alan Stone & Zumbido DRAW Pegasso & Super Fly [AAA TAG, torneo]
4) Alan & Decnnis b Escoria & Espíritu [AAA Tag, torneo]
5) Fuerza Guerrera, Pirata Morgan, Sangre Chicana b Crazy Boy, Joe Lider, Juventud Guerrera
6) Alberije, La Parka Jr., Laredo Kid, Latin Lover b Abismo Negro, Antifaz del Norte, Histeria, Mr. Niebla
7) Black Magic, Head Hunter I, Nicho b Charly Manson, Chessman, Cibernetico

Air Date (projected)
Mexico: 03/11
US: 03/31

Black Magic is Norman Smiley, back in Mexico for the first time in a while. If I remember the story right, the last time he wrestled in CMLL, Ovaciones ripped his performance apart, so I hope he was better here. Nicho and Konnan (in a wheel chair) both interfered in the main event, Konnan cracking a bottle over Cibernetico’s head near the start. Manson got put thru a table to set up the win. After the match, Prez Roldan threatened to suspend Nicho and deport Konnan, Cibernetico argued against it, and Kenzo Suzuki debuted, killing the Hell Brothers.

Nothing else much big on the rest of the show. There was more Apache drama in the non-local opener, and I believe Fabi and Billy refused to fight each other. I know Robert posted differently in a comment, but I read the results as Zumbido pinning Super Fly to win that tag match. I may be wrong.

UPDATED STANDINGS (chart)
P M
12 4 Crazy Boy & Joe Lider
12 4 Cuervo & Ozz
10 5 Alan Stone & Zumbido
10 5 Super Fly & Rey Cometa/Pegasso
6 5 Alan & Decnis
6 5 Espiritu & Scoria
3 2 Antifaz & Histeria
3 3 Alebrije & El Brazo
3 3 Charly Manson & Pirata Morgan
3 3 Chris Stone & Hator
3 3 Mascara Divina & Oriental
3 3 El Angel, Laredo Kid
3 3 Alliens, Gran Apache
3 3 Juventud Guerrera & Psicosis II
3 4 May Flowers, Pimpinela Escarlata
0 1 El Elegido & Intocable

No further tournament tag matches are scheduled, so is it a three way final? Do Stone and Zumbido get left out because they’ve had more matches? Dunno. If it was a draw, that’d eliminate both the Guapo and the Air Force team.
