2) Marco Corleone, Pimpinela Escarlata, Rocky Romero vs Decnnis, Kenzo Suzuki, Polvo de Esterllas
3) Dr. Wagner Jr., El Mesías, Extreme Tiger vs Chessman, Teddy Hart, Electroshock
4) Alex Koslov & Cibernético vs Crazy Boy & Jack Evans

projected air date
Mexico: 12/05 (rerun on 12/12), 12/19 (rerun on 12/26)
US: does not air in the US

Had to make sure to use the colors here. In fact, had to throw in a couple more colors to point out the WagnerManiacs and the completely unclear status of Cibernetico at the moment.  These teams are completely divorced from alliances – that has to be the point, right? Even though there’s nothing on the website to actually point that out? Either that, or the CMLL match selecting hat has jumped. There’s not one match with everyone on each side getting along.

Relevant point standings, as counted by AAA

15 Jack Evans
15 Dr. Wagner Jr.
12 Pimpinela
11 Marco Corleone
09 Elegido
09 Mesias

A wrestler can theoretically pick up a maximum of 7 points per show (3 points for the win, 3 points for the direct pinfall/submission, 1 point for the arbitrary Move Of The Show), leaving just these 6 as possible winners coming into this final taping. Obviously, Elegido’s not on the taping, so cut it down to 5.

Even more so, cut it to 4 – Mesias has no chance of winning. Even if Mesias picks up all 7 points, goes to 16 and everything else goes in his favor, he’ll still get passed by his partner Dr. Wagner Jr., who will get to 18 with a Mesias win.

As for the other four

– Marco has to get the direct pinfall to have a chance to take the championship, and Jack & Wagner have to lose their matches for Marco to do better than tying.

– If Pimpi gets the direct fall and the bonus ponus point, Wagner & Jack can’t simple have their teams win, but need to either pick a direct pinfall or a bonus point of their own.

– Jack & Wagner are about equal, and the favorites.

Jack seems like the best bet. He’s not stuck with a partner who he’s feuding with and has a good shot of picking up a bonus point. (Until they change the whole system again to give Mesias the win.)

Among the women…

06 Faby Apache
06 Rain
03 Mary Apache - not on this show
03 Koa - not on this show
02 Sexy Star
00 Jennifer Blake

Which ever side wins the opener is the high women. Blake and Star can’t catch up, with pushing Fabi & Rain higher past them.

The only minis who have points aren’t on this show. Perfect.

Lucha Libre Premier taping, Averno retains, Strong Man destroys UG again

AAA (FRI) 10/23 Teatro Condesa, DF [AAA, EdR, Notimex]
1) Decnnis, Mini Abismo Negro, Sexy Star b Jennifer Blake, Octagoncito, Rocky Romero
2) Fabi Apache & Pimpinela Escarlata b Polvo de Esterllas & Rain
3) Dr. Wagner Jr. & Jack Evans b Alex Koslov & Teddy Hart
4) Cibernético, Electroshock, Kenzo Suzuki b El Elegido, El Mesías, Marco Corleone

Pins
– Mini Abismo on Octagoncito
– Pimpi on Polvo
– Wagner on Teddy (who was bleeding from the mouth after a Jack elbow)
– Cibernetico on Elegido

CMLL (FRI) 10/23 Arena Mexico [Cesar, ESTO]
1) Estrella Mágica & Lluvia b Yezca & Zeuxis
2) Pequeño Damian 666 b Bam Bam [lightning]
3) Dragon Rojo Jr., Misterioso II, Sangre Azteca b Hijo del Fantasma, Stuka Jr., Valiente
4) Blue Panther, Héctor Garza, Sagrado DQ Naito, Shigeo Okumura, Yujiro
5) Averno b Volador Jr. [NWA MIDDLE]
6) Místico, Shocker, Strong Man b Atlantis, Negro Casas, Último Guerrero

Strong Man powerbombed Ultimo Guerrero, and again Ultimo Guerrero was strechered out.

Title match was said to be really good. Averno had to to give Volador three straight Devil’s Wings to finish him off and retain the title. Virus and Fantasma worked the corners.

No Black Warrior (only a mild surprise), with Sagrado in his spot. DQ was for Naito fouling Garza. Garza made hair match challenges, so it does look like they’re heading in that direction.

Stuka took La Mascara’s spot in the 3rd. Match ended up not being about the trios titles, but Valiente’s middleweight title. Dragon pinned him in the 1st and the 3rd to win the match, then challenged for a title shot. Valiente accepted.

Zeuxis was hurt in the opener.

Ashely Massaro, formerly of WWE, made an appearance in ring between the last couple of matches. It reads as though she was there as part of a group of Playboy centerfolds, but she did talk to CMLL about working for them. That would not be the best of ideas.

The Perros press conference wasn’t to actually announce a next taping or to talk about their TV slot (those things were mentioned as things they would be talking about at some later date), but for all the guys to claim they own the rights to their names, that they’re the originals, and would go to court to defend their names. OK.

Fuego en el Ring talks to Princesa Blanca about Las Zorras. Blanca wanted fast and agile partners, so she picked Hiroka and Sujei over others.

Cronicas y Leyendas de la Lucha Libre looks back at Bam Bam Bigelo at Toreo, in 1992, as well as Babe Face.

Lineups. Note no Black Warrior.

CMLL (TUE) 10/27 Arena Mexico
1) Delta & Trueno vs Apocalipsis & Ramstein
2) Leono, Metálico, Tony Rivera vs Calígula, Hooligan, Méssala
3) Dr. X, Skándalo, Vangelis vs Fabián el Gitano, Flash, Rouge
4) Averno, Ephesto, Mephisto vs Naito, Ray Mendoza Jr., Yujiro
5) La Máscara, Místico, Volador Jr. vs Atlantis, Heavy Metal, Último Guerrero

Semimain is a rematch.

CMLL (FRI) 10/30 Arena Mexico
1) Ángel Azteca Jr., Astro Boy, Sensei vs Durango Kid, Escorpion, Semental
2) Máximo, Sagrado, Stuka Jr. vs Euforia, Pólvora, Virus
3) Valiente vs Dragon Rojo Jr. [MEX WELTER]
4) Blue Panther, Máscara Dorada, Toscano vs Misterioso II, Terrible, Texano Jr.
5) Naito, Ray Mendoza Jr., Yujiro vs Brazo de Plata, Héctor Garza, Shocker

Porky right back to the top. Remember, when he left, Porky said CMLL told him they couldn’t put on top any more because his age/weight. He’s now four years older (and probably not that much thinner.) Porky and Villano V should just do sumo spots the whole match.

That’s just a random group of people for a semimain. Why not move the title match up one? That title match could go either way with those two.

10/23 AAA/LLP Lineup (Mexico City)

3) Dr. Wagner Jr. & Jack Evans vs Alex Koslov & Teddy Hart
4) Cibernético, Electroshock, Kenzo Suzuki vs El Elegido, El Mesías, Marco Corleone

Lucha Libre Premier #2
MEX: 11/08?, 11/22?
US: uh, never?

This looks like the next Lucha Libre Premier taping. It’s theatre instead of a normal buidling (though not one I can seem to find on Google.) It’s four matches, the same as the last FSE taping and unlike the normal shows.

AAA hasn’t announced a additional Saturday taping, so maybe they’re going to do tapings more often? Or maybe they’ll figure that out as they go. Since every new show gets reaired the following week, this could last them a month.

Jennifer Blake on the tecnico side of the opener makes no real sense – that should be Goddess or Cinthia or Mari – but I’d guess they’ve decided that if they’re paying for her to be there, they need to use her. Wagner being a tecnico on occasioan is not new, but Cibernetico still appears to be on the rudo side.

3rd match could be pretty fun.

Lucha Libre Premier, tapings 1 and 2

AAA LLP (FRI) 08/14 Foro Scotiabank [ESTO, AAA]
1) El Elegido (o), Mascarita Divina, Pimpinela Escarlata b Decnnis, Mini Abismo Negro, Polvo de Esterllas
2) Rain & Sexy Star (o) DQ Fabi Apache (x) & Koa Marie Gabric
3) Dr. Wagner Jr. (o), Jack Evans, Rocky Romero b Alex Koslov (x), Electro Shock, Teddy Hart
4) El Mesías & Marco Corleone (o) b Cibernético & Kenzo Suzuki (x)

ESTO notes Wagner & Electro are on the same unit, but fought because they’re honorable competitors. They also mention Sexy Star’s previous gimmick, which must mean they were googling for back ground information, or they figured it out when she tossed her mask to Fabi. Fabi got caught with it, which I’d think mean she starts negative. Luckily for my sanity, just as I about to figure out Day 2, I noticed Day 1 and Day 2 points turned up in AAA. They’ve got to keep doing this throughout, I shouldn’t have to do any math. (I am going to the math, because it’ll be funny later when we make fun of the inevitable fail. Should start a pool on that, too.)

Edit 10/24/09: upon airing this show, AAA appears to have over turned the finish in the second match, ruling it as a DQ for Sexi Star.

6 Marco Corleone
6 Dr. Wagner Jr.
6 Elegido
6 Sexi Star
3 Mesias
3 Jack Evans
3 Rocky Romero
3 Rain (called Gray Rain by ESTO, but AAA has her just as Rain)
3 Mascarita Divina
3 Pimpinela Escarlata

Neither ESTO nor AAA’s recap mentions who (if any) get a bonus point for movement of the night. I think that’s not something we’re going to find out until we see the show, and that’ll probably also mean they give out 1 point per TV show, or 2 points per taping. ESTO article notes that besides Konnan doing the announcers, they’ll have sports stars and celebrties joining – this is an idea they used for WSX, where bands came on and it didn’t always go so well.

Getting back to the point totals, AAA mentions wrestlers have to get 20 points to qualify to win the title, which means they just have to get a few people over that number and then figure out who they want to win, rather than having to book out a winner in advance.

Day 2

AAA LLP (SAT) 08/15 Foro Scotiabank [Alan + photos, AAA]
1) El Elegido, Octagoncito (o), Pimpinela Escarlata b Decnnis, Mini Abismo Negro (x), Polvo de Esterllas
2) Mari Apache & Rain (o) b Fabi Apache (x) & Koa Marie Gabric
3) Jack Evans (o), Marco Corleone, Zorro b Alex Koslov (x), Chessman, Electro Shock
4) Dr. Wagner Jr., El Mesías (o), Rocky Romero b Cibernético, Kenzo Suzuki, Sugi San (x)

Alan noted Koa Marie was injured in her match. AAA says it’s a hip injury. My guess is, they had Mari replace Sexi in the match because they would’ve had Mari working with the outside girls in the Apache’s gym to get them prepared for this match, and maybe they had something worked out in particular. It’d be nice if there was a storyline setting Mari working rudo, but they basically ignored it on the Las Vegas taping. Rain did get the pin only after a Sexi Star distraction, but having them Americans work against the Apaches instead of each other might have been a way for AAA to evaluate them.

It’s generally hard to figure out if these are alignments that will be in play after Verano de Escandalo (again, these tapings aren’t supposed to air until September, so CMLL should continue to turn up at least until then), or if they’re just random AAA bookings. Their spot show lineups routinely have people on wrong sides or teaming with people you wouldn’t expect them to team with, though usually it’s because they’re well lagged what’s happening on TV.

AAA doesn’t make any specific mention of when/where the next taping will be.

Points from this show:
6 Octagoncito
6 Rain
6 Jack Evans
6 Mesias
3 Elegido
3 Pimpinela
3 Mari Apache
3 Marco Corleone
3 Zorro
3 Dr. Wagner Jr.,
3 Rocky Romero

Edit 08/18/2009: AAA says Sugi got a bonus point, though it’s not clear if there’s only one point for both nights or if we’re still waiting for a point for day 1.

Total Points:
9 Rain (nearly halfway there!)
9 Jack Evans
9 Mesias
9 Elegido
9 Marco Corleone
9 Dr. Wagner Jr.
6 Octagoncito
6 Sexi Star
6 Rocky Romero
6 Pimpinela Escarlata
3 Mari Apache
3 Zorro
3 Mascarita Divina
1 Sugi

They were very careful not to have someone win directly twice.
