Recap of last week and hype for tonight's matches.
Blue Demon apologizes for not being able to make the show. Mild boos for that. He vacates the title only under the condition he gets a shot at the winner. Not sure why he gets to decide that.
Match 1: Villano IV vs Chessman for the AAA Latin American Championship
Plaza de Toros La Monumental, Monterrey, Nuevo León, 03/16/2014
Winner: Chessman
Match Time: 15:00
Rating: great
Notes: Villano IV's music is the first one to play. Alan Stone is his second. People who watch the show and don’t follow on the internet must be very confused about seeing Alan Stone being back (especially since he doesn’t seem to be in any matches.) Hijo del Fantasma is Chessman's second. Chessman gets the microphone to trash Blue Demon Jr. for not showing up, and Villano cuts him off with a big slap to the face. Villano yells that he's not interested in Blue Demon, he's there and wants to fight.
Lockup, Chessman waistlock, Villano turns on the mat to get free and to a facelock. Villano takedown, toe hold, Chessman leg lock of his own. Villano reverses to an armscissors, then headscissors Chessman away. Chessman looks around in annoyance. Crowd chants for Villano. Alan leads the chants. Shoves. Slap, Villano going down before it even hits. Chessman slaps again, Villano turns into an armdrag – oh, that's what he was going for. Villano reverse facelock, Chessman headscissors reversal, face off and slaps to the face. Chessman slaps Villano, Villano slaps back. Chessman shoulderblock, Villano IV runs (or “runs”), and shoulderblocks Chessman out. Villano IV runs some more, and topes Chessman. Villano IV rolls in, and puts off Chessman on the apron. V4 suplexes Chessman in, one two NO. Villano IV whip, powerslam, one two No. V4 slaps Chessman into the ropes. Whip, clothesline miss, Chessman slides out and throws his hands up. Villano IV after him, and is met with a slap on the floor. Why is Alan arguing? That distracts Piero, and Chessman breaks a chair over Villano's head. The top portion actually broke on impact, I haven't seen that before with a normal chair. Lots of replays of that as Alan checks on Villano IV, who is probably bleeding. Chessman brings Villano IV in and hits him in the head with the rest of the hair (so I'm not sure why the needed the ref distraction last time.) Chessman rips Villano Iv's mask. First good shot of the blood from Villano IV's head. Chessman punches and bites at the cut. Kick to the back. Kick to the midsection. Chops. Villano IV ducks and comes back with straight right hand to the face. V4 with a takedown and more shots to the face, Chessman turns it over an pounds Chessman. Stomp. V4 grabs Chessman by the ankle an tries to hold him down, but Chessman breaks free and kicks Villano IV in the face. Villano IV struggles to his feet, and takes a superkick down. Chessman cover as the crowd chants for Villano. Two count. Chessman is distracted by the Villano chant, and asks for another chair. He gets it, while Alan distracts Piero again. Corner whip, clothesline, no, Villano IV gets in his own. Another, and a backdrop. Chessman shoved face first into the corner, Villano grabs the chair, and Villano smashes Chessman. That was not as hard as Chessman's, but still to he the head. Piero threatens the DQ, Villano threatens to hit Piero. Neither happens. V4 punches Chessman in the face repeatedly. Villano IV smashes Chessman's face into the middle buckle repeatedly, then the bottom one. Villano cranks Chessman's neck back and bites him in the forehead. Elbows to he head. Chessman's bleeding, but we can't tell with the red and all. We can tell because V4's elbow has a good amount of blood on it. Piero pulls V4 back and waves for medial help, but V4 wants no part of it. Slaps back and forth, V4 wins with punches and a slap to the face. V4 runs, Chessman runs at him, clothesline wipe them both out, one two NO. Fantasma has a wood panel for some reason, and leads it against the outside of the ring. Chessman backcracker one two No. Slap fight on the mat, Chessman actually getting stronger as it goes on, but Villano IV taking him back down and headbutting him in the head repeatedly. They are really going at it, but they don’t have much more to give. The medics are finally here, and Piero stops the mat to bring in someone to check on Villano IV. Chessman runs over and dropkicks V4 while he's being checked out, which I guess is okay with the doctor since he lets the match go on. That's sound medical judgment. Chessman flips V4 to the apron, chops him to the floor and follows with a big tope. Fantasma stomps on V4, and Alan just stands there watching, then tries to intimidate Fantasma. That doesn't work at all, Fantasma keeps getting past him for more stomps. Alan eventually decides he just needs to hit this man, but even that doesn't take and V4 gets stomped some more. Replay of the dive. Chessman walks around ringside, then runs – into the wood panel. He speared Alan Stone into it, but it was to shown in a way where you could quite tell what was happening there. (Also, Fantasma and Alan have surprisingly similar pants on.) Anyway, Alan Stone useless and now dead, for at least a match. Both guys back in, Chessman chops Villano IV until V4 small packages him for two. Villano IV and Chessman slaps each other in the head. Chessman into the ropes, Villano 4's head down too soon, Chessman kicks it, sunset flip, one two NO. V4 slow to react, Chessman inside cradle, one two no. There's a guy trying to clean off the blood from the mat the mat and the apron curtain while is going. I have no idea why. Chessman goes up – no idea there either – and misses a s! V4 senton one two NO. V4 legdrop. Why is Villano IV going up? This is a bad idea! Senton con giro misses. Chessman's got to win this, now. He legdorps instead. One two NO. Chessman is frustrated. Fantasma seems surprises this has lasted this long. Whip, Chessman puts his head down too soon, Villano IV kicks it and kicks at it. Chessman shoves him into the ropes, off the other ropes, spear one two three.
Alan Stone, surprisingly in one piece, goes up to Chessman backstage and asks for the title match. Alan Stone wrestles in openers, so Chessman declares he's not worthy of a title match. Alan says he's got the heart to win. Chessman is not impressed and laughs about it after Alan leaves.
Match 2: Angélico & Jack Evans vs Hijo del Fantasma & Psicosis and Aerostar & Drago and Demon Rocker & Machine Rocker for the AAA World Tag Team Championship
Plaza de Toros La Monumental, Monterrey, Nuevo León, 03/16/2014
Winner: Jack Evans & Angelico
Match Time: 11:12
Rating: good
Notes: Referee is Piero.
This time, just everyone who feels like being in the ring stays in the ring to start, and they all attack dancing Jack Evans. It's Drago, Psicosis, Fantasma and Devil Rocker assaulting Jack. Rudos attack Aerostar & Angelico, which Drago doesn't seem to mind. Everyone holds jack on the ropes Whip, triple dropkick - no, Jack has the ropes and kicks everyone. Psicosis just stands and watches until Jack comes over to kick him. Jack backflip under an invisible. Fantasma clotheslines and backflip kicks him. Devil Rocker cuts off Jack with a big front cracker. Drago misses a clothesline, Demon kicks him into the ropes, Demon charges and flips demon to the ropes, then kicks him there. Machine in, Machine fights off faceslam, Drago breaks loose for heel kicks then runs, and Machine tosses him into a headscissors to the floor on Demon. Aerostar double rotation headscissors on Machine, and out to the other way – top rope Asai tornillo on him. Psicosis in, missing a dropkick to both champions. Meanwhile, Fantasma top rope moonsaults Machine Rocker on the floor. Jack and Angelico kick Psicosis around, stepping up an inverted chinlock face kick spot. Angelico suplexes Jack into his flip on Psicosis and Fantasma returns from his flipping fun to break up the pin. Psicosis goes out of the ring, reaches into the crowd, and brings in a chair. He leave it outside the ring, and goes back to help Fantasma beat up Jack. Psicosis kicks Jack questionably low, and Piero ignores it. Jack sure doesn't. Replay barely shows it, but seems like it connected low. Whip Psicosis misses a clothesline, Fantasma does not, spinning Jack out. Psicosis legdrop. Fantasma kicks Angelico, and drags him out of the corner close to his partner. Piero helps the rudos line up their move (and prevents them from stepping on jack), rudos suplex Angelico onto Jack. Rudos stop to pose. Aerostar and Drago in but quickly neutralized. Drago thrown out, Psicosis leaves Aerostar on his shoulders for Dragon to knock off, Doomsday Device style. Rudos suplex Drago onto the middle of the rope, then slaps him down to the floor. Drago whipped, ducks a double clothesline, Fantasma boosts him into a dropkick Psicosis. Angelico runs in knocks Fantasma over with a running knee. Técnicos stomp Fantasma while Jack and Angelico give Fantasma a back suplex/double stomp combo. Angelico overs, Piero can't find a place to cover because Aerostar and Drago are giving Psicosis a double side slam. One two three – on both.
The Rockers rush in and attack everyone. Jack and Angelico are thrown out, and the Rockers Demon punches Aerostar while Drago evades Machine. Machine is finally able to loudly chop Drago on it the ropes, but charge into backdrop to the floor. Demon dropkicks Drago out, but runs into a trip to turnbuckles. Aerostar running double knee to Demon Rocker's back. Aeorstar crazy man's springboard reverse tope to the floor connects. Machine Rocker tornillo onto both Demon and Aero. Drago in for his dive, but Angelico puts him off with a wheel kick. Angelico fireman's carry, Jack double stomp into the moonsault onto everyone. Drago grabs the top rope and breaks free, Drago punches him away, then climbs up the buckle. Top rope tornillo onto everyone. Oh no, Angelico's going for his dive. Long pause as the guys on the floor get organized. Angelico runs – tope con giro over the post works! Angelico throws Aerostar in. Jack throws Drago in, but the Rockers get ride of the champions and take care of Drago & Aero themselves. Demon runs into a drop toe hold, Drago inverted facelock, Aerostar dropkick to the face. Fantasma is still watching the match from the ramp for some reason, and Psicosis is around ringside. Machine in, Aerostar dropkicks him in the backside. Drago running flip DDT, Aerostar springboard splash, both cover, Demon Rocker breaks it up. Psicosis complaining about the count? Inferno Suplex on Aerostar, with an added Demon superkick to get Aerostar over for the bridge. Piero counts one two three. Demon piledrivers Drago – which sure seems to give away that he's Ultimo Gladiador, among other things – and covers him for three as well.
Angelico in and clotheslines both Rockers. Twice, even. Angelico boots Jack into a dropkick onto both. One Rocker out, one Rocker in the corner. Jack runs and slingshots in a flip headscissors on Machine – only Machine blocks it and rams him into the post! Angelico kicks Demon, Demon whip, reversed, Angelico rolls over the rope, Angelico does the sweep up kick bit and covers, but Machine breaks that pin up. Corner whip, reversed, Angelico charges in, Machine moves, Infernal Suplex! One two Jack double stomps Machine to break it up. Jack stands on him for the Viva Moonsault, but never gets past Viva before Demon crushes him. That was great. Demon sets up Jack on the top rope and climbs from behind, but Angelico stops him with a swinging kick. Angelico running crucifix powerbomb, on Demon! Machine back up, Angelico charges, Machine Inferno suplex, Angelico grabs the ropes to block, heel kick, and crucifix powerbomb into the Demon Rocker. Both Rockers tumble to the mat next to each other, and Angelico positions them. Jack 630 senton hits mostly Demon, but the champs cover both, one two three.
Mesías injury update – he'll be out three months from his injury. Three months from now? That's a long way. Mesías cuts a promo on Jeff Jarrett.
Match 3: La Parka vs Zorro, el Hijo del Perro Aguayo, Black Warrior in a AAA's Rey de Reyes Tournament match and in a tournament final match
Plaza de Toros La Monumental, Monterrey, Nuevo León, 03/16/2014
Winner: La Parka
Match Time: 13:27
Rating: below average
Notes: Referee is Copetes.
Zorro goes right after Parka, so the other two guys hang back and stand on the apron. Parka fights back against Zorro, but Warrior chops him - so Zorro accidentally hits Warrior when trying to get to Parka. Parka and Zorro slide out, Parka goes to tope Warrior, but only gets Zorro. And only barely so. That was not the Warrior tope of old. Parka in, but Perro clothesline him and stomps him. Warrior comes in to help stomp. Perro decides going after the camera guy is more interesting than Parka. Not sure he's wrong. Stomps. Warrior low blow headbutt on Parka. Perro back in. Double whip, Parka duck and runs and runs and runs and so on. Rudos watch as parka slows down. Parka ducks, Perro hits Warrior, and they start fighting. Warrior boots Perro out. Parka drop toe hold on Parka, casita, Warrior shoves him off, Warrior casita, Copetes doesn't bother to count, because Zorro's breaking it up for some reason. Well, Zorro is crazy. Parka clotheslines Zorro, then goes back to Warrior. Casita doesn't go so smooth one two three. Thanks for coming, Warrior.
Warrior dropkicks and stomps Zorro, which is sort is sort of deserved. Perro doesn't know what's going on and goes after the announcers. Replay of the pinfall, not the cradle which led up to it. There's a table by ringside for some reason. Parka wins a battle of slaps with Zorro, but Zorro spears and rips at his mask. Zorro stretches Parka's mask. Zorro in no hurry here. Zorro whips Parka, head down too soon, Parka kicks him in the had. Parka off the ropes, Zorro dropkick him. Zorro goes after parka's head, looking for blood. Parka and Zorro chop back and forth. Both are dazed quick, but keep on chopping. Park's knocked down to the ropes. Perro still watching from the floor for some reason. Chops back and forth end with a Parka punch to the face. Corner whip, Parka charges, no one home. Parka stumbles out, Zorro casadora , Parka tries to crawl away, can't really crawl away, but Zorro gives up. Zorro kicks parka in the ribs. Zorro has Copetes help realigning some fingers. I'm not sure what happened to him. Zorro clotheslines Parka. This match is dragging. Zorro wait for park to get up, and knocks him down again. Zorro grabs his stick horse, so we're getting close to the end. He gets his stick horse and his cane, decides to toss his stick horse to Parka (??), Parka tosses it back, Zorro catches it, Parka front crackers him. A second front cracker, Zorro about falls on his stick horse, then is pinned on two three. Crowd is excited for the pinfall.
Perro returns to living and comes in with a chair. Copetes ask if he rather use the cane. Nah. Perro carelessly swings and hits Parka in the arm, if at all. Perro doesn't ever hold onto his chair when swinging so it goes flying, but Perro sets it back in the center of the mat and smashes Parka's face into it a couple times. Perro gets the wood panel and begins making a table, so AAA wisely decide to set up replays. Perro is done – not done well, but done – by time they're back. Perro goes after Parka's head, where Zorro had broken the mask prior. Parka may be bleeding, but we cant' really see. Ash, now we can tell, and Perro wipes the blood on his face. Some is also having fun with a laser point. Perro licks the blood. Perro takes Parka outside, BOOOO. Mostly because that means the match is still going. Perro borrows a drink, pours some of it over himself, and throws most of it at Parka in the front row. Punches. Perro brings Parka back in, drop toe hold, casita – yea, you're going to end this with a casita after you've set up that table. What a shock, it's only two. Perro sunset flip, two count. Perro clotheslines Parka and stomps all over him. Cover with his feet obvious on the bottom rope. It's too obvious, Copetes can't ignore it, so Perro relents and covers legally for two. Perro walks parka round the other side to the table, brings him to the middle rope, goes up himself, and Park hiptoss Perro thru the table. Parka stumbles around, drags Perro off the able, then overs him, one two three.
Parka's presented with the sword by Joaquin. He kisses it, then offers it to Maricela. They hug. Replay of the finish.
Poor Konnan has Black Warrior, the Jarretts (Karen: “You say every time it's going to be different, it's never different!”) and Pimpinela (!) bugging him. Perro brings the women around to de-stress Konnan, but Konnan says this is not a good day for that with all that's gone on. Zorro wanders in with his stick horse, and Konnan just tells him off. Good person to tell off, because Zorro is too goofy to even care. Lots of Zorro/stick horse reaction shots, which just drives Konnan even more crazy. And end.
