AAA on Televisa (Regional) #88 (07/14/2013)
Recapped: 07/18/2013

TripleMania video package recap. In this version of AAA, Vampiro just shows up, hands the Mexican Powers their belts, and raises their arms. That's great, wish it happened that way.

Announcers preview the matches.

Billy el Malo runs thru all the groups he's been part off – but he's tired of following other leaders. Also, he's tired of hearing about Fenix, who he thinks has it too easy. Billy's been pretending some competition for him, but doesn't want us to see him yet. It's a guy in a hoodie who can't see, but seems to be larger than Billy. They're coming soon.

Upcoming Shows:

07/19: Xalapa
08/02: Mexico City

Maximia Velocidad video package!!! I still can't tell them apart but at least they're making use of this dead time to do something.

Match 1: Lucky Boy & Niño de Ébano vs Mamba & Yuriko
Domo de la Feria de Leon, 06/14/2013

Winner: técnicos
Match Time: 10:55
Rating: ok
Notes: Referee is Piero.

Yuriko and Ebano start, and I think the announcers keep saying Yuriko's name because they can't tell these guys apart either. It takes them a couple minutes to get to Niño's headscissors. Yuriko surprises a fan with a kiss. Lucky and Mamba do some good evasion, but Lucky comes a little short on his try at Titan's headscissors. Mamba dances, gets kicked, gets amrdragged out, and Lucky flips to a pose. More evasion/comedy with Ebano and the exoticos. Mamba takes a headscissors out, then seems to smack his head into the barricade. More exoticos mishaps lead to Lucky head kicking Mamba out. Exoticos randomly take over the match, just deciding to double team Niño de Ebano. They mess up their hot potato powerbomb, Mamba not making the catch, then powerbombing Ebano hard to make up for it. Announcer can not identify a valagueza, though Yuriko falls backwards with it like a suplex instead of the normal neckbreaker. Yuriko missile dropkicks Mamba by mistake to to turn the match around, though no one's in much hurry. Yuriko can't take a double boot right and goes out without actually being kicked. Técnicos ignore them and follow with stereo Brillo Doradas. Tecnicos comes back in with Mamba and get near fall off a sunset flip. Yuriko sideslams the técnicos – maybe Lucky Boy? - and the técnico kicks out before his partner comes off the top rope to break it up. He's running late. Drop toe hold, elbow drop on Yuriko. Técnicos try to rolls Yuriko into a double submission, but it doesn't come together well and doesn’t look like much when they're done. Mamba comes in without breaking it up, randomly dances more, and gets kicked it so they can do more dancing. Double tope spot on Mamba looks dumb – one of them is flying to nowhere. Yuriko and Lucky Boy in, Yuriko powerbomb. Yuriko again tries to start a chant for himself, and this one actually takes. Yuriko goes up, técnicos pop back to life to give him a two man Spanish fly and it on top for the win.

Angelico, in Spanish, talks about his life and career as a way of introducing him. They use some of the footage from his show commercial.

Match 2: Angélico, Drago, Jack Evans vs Carta Brava Jr., Eterno, Steve Pain
Domo de la Feria de Leon, 06/14/2013

Winner: técnicos
Match Time: 12:41
Rating: excellent
Notes: Steve Pain gets no introduction. Rudos enter as a group to Eterno's music. Tecnicos get separate entrances. Referee is Piero.

Steve Pain and Drago start off by posing in the corner. Lockup, pain with a forward legsweep rolls into a chinlock, and that starts off a fun back and forth on the mat. Looking like you know what you're doing is a good way to make a first impression. Drago is able to armdrag Pain out after a bit of a fight. Angelico and Eterno are next, fighting over arm holds. Announcers briefly confuse which one so from South Africa, which is just amazing. Quick back and forth on cradles, then armdrags, then zero trips, simultaneous dropkicks, and a standoff. Jack Evans and Carta Brava are last. This is a weird match. Jack teases break dancing, and Carta Brava wipes him out with a dropkick. Rudos are very happy. Hard chop by Carta Brava. Snap mare, Jack over, under, whip, reversed, Carta Brava ducks under a spinning kick but runs into a flipping dropkick. Jack's chest is so red. Walking shooting star press, but Pain breaks up the pin and forearms Jack in the face a few times. Lots of punches to the face. “Ground and pounds!” Sure. Carta gets in some stomps as well. Whip by the rudo, double clothesline misses, Jack swings to the apron and springboards back in with a double blockbuster. “Springboard double lung breaker.” I need to stop listening already. Jack fakes a dive, flips off the ropes instead. Drago back in, and Pain to face him. Pain chops Drago hard and poses. Drago chops him back. Drago shoulderblock blocked, but his leg sweep is not. Whip, reversed, Drago back with a double rotation headscissors. He doesn't get it perfectly, but gets enough of it. Spinning headscissors into a DDT looks good. Jesus starts to call the move, than even he realizes he's not making any sense. Drago with kicks to Steve Pain's side, Drago up to Jesus' shoulders, casadora, armdrag sends Pain out. Angelico and Eterno in, Eterno misses a clothesline, Angelica misses a plancha. Eterno kicks him in the ribs hard, then takes out the técnicos on the apron. Brava rushes in and kicks Angelico in the face. He's tossed into a Carta Brava kneelift,. Pain lifts Drago on his shoulders , and spins him off rapidly for a faceslam. I don't like that move, ever, but Pain made it look a lot better than it usually does. Pain adds a double stomp and a standing moonsault. Jack in, stomped by everyone. The crowd is really loud, or really turned up loud. Maybe both. Jack is tossed up into a Eterno cutter, which comes together a little bit late but is still a nice idea. Rudos hold Jack on his knees for a Carta Brava dropkick to the face. Angelico runs in and attacks everyone, everyone knocks him into the corner. Corner charge, Carta Brava corner clothesline, and out into a Steve Pain spinebuster. Eterno adds his top rope legdrop. Rudos are looking great. Steve Pain bends over near the ropes, Eterno runs, jumps of Pain and does a super plancha to the floor. That looks awesome. Drago back in, Carta Brava corner clothesline him, and Pain lands a corner forearm. Pain adds a running dropkick to the face, but that takes him out of the ring too. That only leaves Carta Brava in the ring, and Jack's free to springboard spin toe kick him in the face. Steve Pain realizes what's going on too late, and takes Jack Evans usual dive – into a headscissors! Drago back in, kicking Carta Brava thru the rope and following with his tornillo. Jack and Steve in, Jack flips under a clothesline, jumping flip kick to the had. Jack off the ropes, Steve catches him with a knee, more knees, double pumphandle faceslam one two NO. Pain drags Jack towards the corner and calls for the end. This is probably the end for him. Jack attacks Pain from behind, climbs up behind him, nearly slips and pulls Steve Pain off with a German superplex! Jack off the rope, moonsault into a flying DDT one two Eterno breaks it up, though Pain might have kicked out first. Eterno walks around, and get taken out by Angelico dropkick. Angelico lifts Eterno up, running crucifix powerbomb into the corner one two Carta Brava breaks it up! Angelico whips Cart into the corner, Carta flips him to the props, Angelico forearms him down, then turns towards the outside and dives off with a dropkick to knock Eterno off the barricade (?) and into the crowd. I think Jack put him there, still bizarre, and quite a spot. Drago top rope tornillo into the ring on Carta Brava one two No. Crowd seems into it, though it does still feel like they've turned up the sound more than they needed. Drago springboard armdrag into a double arm trap leg pull cradle one two three. Crowd stands and applauds.

Replays. There's a lot of stuff to replay here.

Match 3: Escoria, Espíritu, Ozz vs Daga, Halloween, Psicosis
Domo de la Feria de Leon, 06/14/2013

Winner: técnicos
Match Time: 11:51
Rating: ok
Notes: Groups enter as groups. Halloween and Daga have their titles. Psicosis is so proud of his friends. Referee is Tirantes. Perros jump the Secta.

Rudo beatdown, which means Halloween and Psicosis use chairs and Daga suplexes people. I guess I missed the announcers calling this no disqualification. Holding and hitting. Halloween gives Escoria a sit down powerbomb. Nicho staples Espiritu, though they build to it a lot stronger than they usually do. Ozz gets the same treatment. Jesus is unsure how stapler is pronounced. Or just wrong. Corner charges, including a big dropkick at the end, for Ozz. Escoria is crotched around the post and dropkicked by Daga. Rudos stomp the técnicos and hold them near the ropes, then the técnicos grab the ropes on a whip, rudos hang themselves in the ropes on a dropkick, and técnicos dropkick them out. Ozz and Espiritu hang out in the ring while Escoria brawls with Psicosis. Halloween comes into give the técnicos something to do. Chairs to the groin and such. Tirantes confiscate the stapler to prevent the técnicos from using it, but is okay with chairs. Rudos do the required walkout. Everyone settles down to their corners as they return. Daga gets Ozz with a facecrusher and and armscissors, but Escoria breaks up the hold with a legdrop. Escoria huracarana Daga into the corner, and sort of lands a top rope flip moonsault. Halloween's turn to break it up. Escoria wheel kicks him, and mostly lands a standing moonsault for two. Escoria jumps into Halloween's arm, who drops him with a F5 and puts on a crossface. Espiritu breaks it up. His move is a frontcracker and a backcracker. Psicosis uses the chair to break it up. Psicosis sets up the chair, but Escoria crotches him on him and throws it at Psicosis' head, kicking him out of the ring. Halloween spears Escoria, then celebrates. Halloween stalls, runs, and puts his head into a Espiritu chair shot from outside. Escoria goes up, taking Halloween to the floor with a top rope legdrop. Psicosis tries a rope flip moonsault to the floor, but it doesn't look so great. Ozz and Daga fighting in, though we're distracted by an Espiritu rope flip moonsault. Daga lands a dropkick on Ozz, stands him up in the corner, corner whip, Ozz up the corner and off with his tornillo. Both up again, Ozz's kick caught into a Dragon screw, Daga goes for a leghold, Ozz kicks him off, Daga bounces back, Ozz grabs him and drops him with the Ozz Driver for three. That looked all sorts of painful.

Referee, Perros and both doctors check on Daga. Ozz gets the microphone and says Daga is champion but hasn't done much with it. Ozz has been a champion in Japan, and wants the cruiserweight title in his hands. Ozz asks the crowd, who is okay with the idea. Daga is in a neckbrace and tries to talk, but the crowd cheers Ozz over him. Daga says Ozz isn't getting a title much for a lucky shot. Daga is only giving shots to people in his class and quality, and Ozz is neither. Psicosis tries to talk, but they play the music instead.

Promo for Tehuacan

La Parka talks about his big win at TripleMania – they defeated the legends, the AAA legends are greater. “YO SOY AAA!”

Match 4: Canek, El Mesías, La Parka vs Chessman, Texano Jr., Villano IV
Domo de la Feria de Leon, 06/14/2013

Winner: rudos
Match Time: 13:28
Rating: below average
Notes: Canek is randomly a técnico this week, and teaming with the guy who just crowed about beating him. Parka gets last entrance. Tirantes is referee. Villano IV kicks Parka out as he enters.

Parka comes back in, but everyone keeps him from fighting Villano IV – than they stop, and V4 gets in the first shot. Rudos beat up the técnicos. Texano uses his lasso on everyone. Choke on the ropes. Rudos set a chair on Parka and Texano lassos the chair. I can't believe that works at all. We all get a good shot of Villano IV hitting the mat with a chair near Parka. Starting to believe this lucha libre may not be on the level. Villano IV's punches are a lot better, he should stick with those. Meanwhile, Canek takes an unprotected chair shot from Chessman. What in the world. Tecnicos are rammed into each other a couple times, the rudos running out of steam before their time is up. Corner charges for Mesías. Announcers keep saying Canek is a técnico, as if trying to convince themselves. Maybe we're supposed to be worried about a betrayal? Crowd loud for Parka, and they cut to the rudos screwing up to lead to a Parka comeback. Canek is really slow clothesline Chessman. Mesías spears Chessman to make the biggest possible impact. Parka falls down while punching Villano IV. Tecnicos take the rudos outside for more brawling, then use chairs on the rudos. Rudos get hit, regroup on the outside. Canek messes with them before everyone heads to their corners for the restart. Mesías' showcases takes a while to get started, as the rudos each beat him up for a while before Mesías his own comeback. Parka is next, and he goes straight for offense which is a lot of the rudos hitting each other. This somehow includes Texano diving onto Chessman by mistakes. This leaves Canek, Villano IV, and Mesías in, and Canek heel kicks Mesías. It looks like it could've been an accident, but then Canek clotheslines Parka, and that's not an accident. Villano IV drops an elbow and covers for the win.

Canek explains he never liked Parka and does like Villano IV. A very out of breath Villano IV taunts Parka. Parka defends AAA after the rudos leave.
