Match 1: La Sombra & Volador Jr. vs Atlantis & Último Guerrero in a National Parejas Increible Tournament match and in a tournament final match
Arena Mexico, 03/15/2013

  1. La Sombra & Volador

  2. Atlantis & Ultimo Guerrero
  3. La Sombra & Volador

Winner: La Sombra & Volador
Match Time: 13:43
Rating: okay/good
Notes: Volador & Sombra are wearing matching black and white outfits bony outfits. Volador's look is a take off of his Black Spiderman look. Sombra looks more like Skullomania. They surely look like La Parka outfits to people not in tune with obscure Street Fighter characters. (Given the time the Skullomania character was created, it's possible there's a La Parka influence here in a roundabout awy.) Referee is Babe Richard. Mije is with Volador.

1: Joined with everyone in the ring. UG quickly captures Sombra in fujiwara, but it turns in to more normal mat wrestling. Announcers talk about these two training Angel Reyna. Sombra and Ultimo Guerrero battle over ankle locks before getting to zero pins and a standoff. Atlantis and Volador battle next, with Atlantis holding off an armscissors and going back and forth on the mat. They don't settle anything. Sombra back in, but shoulderblocked out of the ring immediately. Volador misses a dropkick on Ultimo, Ultimo & Atlantis whip Volador to the corner, Volador flipped to the apron by Sombra, Volador swing kick knocks UG down, Sombra tries to kick trip Atlantis into the ropes (Atlantis instead just kind of not taking the bump and leisurely sitting on the ropes, which seems to annoy Sombra), Volador guillotine legdrop on Atlantis, Sombra double moonsault on Ultimo Guerrero, and that's the fall.

80th Anniversary promo (sped up!)

2: Sombra and Atlantis start, Atlantis spinebusters Sombra. Snap mare, knee to the top of the head. Sombra whipped to the corner, Atlantis sits him down, and Guerrero lands the senton de la muerte. Volador whipped to the corner, Atlantis clothesline him and sits him down and UG hits the senton de la m muerte on him as well. UG whips Volador out into an Atlantis quebradora. Atlantis goes back to the apron while UG miss a clothesline on Volador, and Volador headscissors him out. Volador turns, big top con giro – caught! - Volador flips free they chop fight on the grounded, Atlantis and Sombra in, tope to both guys – but they hit the wrong guys! Sombra toped Volador, Atlantis toped Ultimo Guerrero. Sombra immediately realizes what he's done and seems to feel bad about it. Replay. Atlantis and Volador back in, the other two not far behind them, and the young guys run into the old guys Altantidas. That's it.

3: Sombra/UG sequence leads to Sombra flipping over Volador's shoulders and headscissoring them out. Atlantis ducks Volador's clothesline, and rope bounce armdrag him, but Atlantis put a stop to the run with a quebradora. Volador in, evasion, flipping run, more evasion, and finally a Volador headscissors. GU charge in, and take a roll bump on an invisible armdrag. Volador jumps on UG's back – oh wow, they just did Shocker/Ultimo Guerrero's inverted teeter totter spot. Torch has been passed (maybe.) Volador flipping armdrag sends UG out. Volador teases a dive, but pulls up very early. Sombra in, Atlantis trips him to the corner. Both the vets whips Sombra, but Sombra comes back with the boost dropkick out, and UG take the knee bump out. Skeleton double tope con giro! Replays. Sombra and Ultimo Guerrero in. Corner whip, UG sits on the top buckle, and Sombra’s not going up. Sombra fake it, UG fakes coming down, Sombra charges, UG goes up, Sombra goes up with him, and he takes the front superplex. One two NO. Sombra dumps UG in the corner, rope flip moonsault one two NO. Sombra sets UG up top, and of course UG blocks the 'rana and superbombs him. One two NO. Volador tags in, and pulls Guerrero into a 'rana, but only for two. Volador's not happy with the speed of the count. Volador stops to rally the crowd Volador off the ropes, torito one t-Atlantis breaks it up. Atlantis misses a clothesline on Volador, Volador 'rana, Atlantis rolls thru one two NO. Atlantis casadora cradle one two Sombra breaks it up. Sombra fireman's drop Atlantis, Sombra double moonsault, two count. Babe Richard has to put his earpiece back in. Sombra takes off his shirt, gets a big reaction. Atlantis dropped in the counter, Sombra goes up – and UG shoves Sombra to crotch him. He shoves Sombra so hard that Sombra almost fell to the floor, but Sombra gets it together. Volador up, UG swing at him, Volador ducks and UG chops Atlantis by mistake. UG takes a look, chops Volador down, and goes up – Guerrero Special on Sombra. Atlantis gets Volador in the Atlantida, but UG – while covering – sticks a foot out, tripping Atlantis. It's not totally clear it was on purpose, but it's hard to believe otherwise. Babe Richard counts one, moves out of the way of Atlantis and Volador falling near him, counts two, and UG stops covering before three – I don’t think anyone was sure if that was two one counts or a two count, so he just played it safe. UG and Atlantis argue over what just happened and start throwing chops at each other. They roll around on the ground fighting, then get back up – Volador backcracker on Atlantis, Brillante Driver on UG, it's over.

Sombra and Volador celebrate while eyeballing each other. Mije high fives people on the outside. Easy match for him. Replays. Sombra puts his trophy on the mat and lets Volador pose with both of them. (We're back to small trophies.) Volador must eventually give Sombra's to Mije, because Sombra pulls something away from Mije. That's in the background of UG and Atlantis fighting again, mask ripping back and forth. Crowd doesn’t seem as hot for this either. Replay of the finish. UG makes the mask vs mask challenge, and makes it a long speech, blaming Atlantis for never really accepting. Atlantis takes the microphone to accept, but UG walks off on him.

Match Time: 10:57
Rating: ok/good
Notes: Entrances. Estrellita is dressed as Tinkerbell, and has a wand and her title belt. La Mascara is her second. Amapola is in a happy mood. Estrellita oddly tries to sneak attack Amapola, but Amapola ducks it and chops Estrellita down. That couldn't have failed more. Referee is Terror Chino. Amapola's second is Ephesto.

Boos as Estrellita runs for a dive, then stops and changes her mind to go to the ramp. Amapola thrown back in. Whip, reversed, Estrellita casadora cradle, Amapola reverses it one two NO. Estrellita repeatedly shoulderblocks Amapola for zero, then puts on a casita one two three. Crowd more boos than cheers. Amapola and Ephesto argue the count. Replay shows Amapola never actually kicked out.

Corner whip, reversed, Estrellita walk up the ropes and off with an armdrag. Estrellita messy headscissors sends Amapola to the corner. Corner charge, nothing there, and Amapola spars Estrellita in the corner. Amapola calls for another, Estrellita gets her feet up, and Amapola pulls her down by her head. Corner whip, reverses, Estrellita with a bad powerslam, one two NO. Estrellita off the ropes, turning and walking to a stop, Amapola already has snuck behind her and lands the spear. Modified cruz nipona, and Estrellita gives.

3: Estrellita dropkick Amapola twice, but Amapola trips her into the ropes on the third try and gives her the running sit. Amapola lays on top for a pin, only two. Amapola off the ropes, bad looking side slam, one two NO. This not a bad match, but Estrellita's offense is just no good. Backslide here is better, two count. Estrellita casadora cradle one two NO. Estrellita jacknife cover doesn’t look good, Amapola reverses it into a rana for two. Forearm fight, Amapola back suplex powerbomb one two NO. Corner whip, Estrellita moves, and Amapola spears the post on the way out. Estrellita out to he apron making a face, and diving on Amapola with a plancha. Replay shows Amapola securing the catch. Both pull each other from making it back in, Amapola sliding in first, and Estrellita making to the apron at 17. Estrellita tries to get in a shoulder, but Amapola cranks her neck over the ropes. Amapola runs, thru the ropes tope con giro almost didn't caught at all. That looked dangerous, even on the replay. Amapola didn't get as much height on that either. Whip, Amapola yells as Estrellita comes back, Estrellita casadora, Amapola slips out of the hold, Estrellita of the ropes, sunset flip looked off, Amapola blocks it and turns it into her own sunset flip for two. Ephesto again unhappy with the count. Replay shows Amapola fixing Estrellita's sunset flip before trying her own. Back live, Amapola is up to the second rope, Estrellita fights up to join her, super 'rana looks fine, Estrellita adds an elbow drop to be sure, one two NO. Estrellita stomps Amapola a few times and seems to be heading up as they show replays. Back live, and they're both on the ropes – Amapola superplex one two NO. Replay of that spot too. Estrellita whips Amapola into the corner, and crushes her with a dropkick. One more dropkick to the face. Estrellita sets Amapola’s right leg on the bottom rope, and dropkicks the inside of the knee. She's got a plan. Estrellita stops the plan (oh well) and stands on the middle and bottom rope. Amapola pull her off and starts climbing herself - actually climbing instead of pausing, and Estrellita pulls her down. Estrellita tries climbing herself, and Amapola plucks her off with a powerbomb one two NO. Amapola up but limping and arguing. Estrellita kicks Amapola in the face off the ropes, into an Amapola fireman's drop. Amapola going up again, diving back elbow drop misses! Estrellita puts on a legscissors head trap armbar, and Amapola gives.

Steam shoots out of the corners, which looks so weird. Amapola is up and limping, arguing with the referee. Amapola argues no, which maybe she should've argued no before. Replay shoes Amapola taking a crazy fall, then Amapola putting on her complicated hold, Not sure why she didn't just do her normal hold; if there’s a reason for that particular hold, it’s not mentioned here. Back live just in time to see Amapola cut of part of her own hair and angrily give it to Estrellita. Clip ahead to short haired Amapola arguing with the barber and the referee. Amapola takes the scissors and starts cutting off her own hair. Clip ahead to Amapola getting her head shaved, but stopping to shove the camera away and just make angry faces. Amazing how natural blond Amapola has dark hair near her scalp. Amapola poses in every corner, defiantly, shoving Mascara out of the way at one point. She's clearly the star and better liked off the two. Amapola storms off, still arguing the result. Estrellita is briefly shown.
