CMLL on Fox Sports (Mexico) #342 (02/23/2013)
Recapped: 02/28/2013

Felino and JCR welcome us to the show. JCR has the Reyes del Aire trophy - and a nice case to put in. I guess that's the advantage of having small trophies. Felino is picking Sombra. JCC joins when the matches start

Match 1: Dalis la Caribeña, Estrellita ©, Silueta vs Amapola, La Comandante, La Seductora
Arena Mexico, 02/15/2013

  1. técnicas

  2. técnicas

Winner: técnicas
Match Time: 15:26
Rating: eh
Notes: In important fashion news, Silueta has traded her pants for trunks. Rudas jump Estrellita because every match ever between this feud is so annoying. Referee is Edgar.

1: Amapola and Estrellita make it to the ring and pull each other's hair a bunch. Amapola is so angry at Estrellita, she just lets her walk free for a tag. It doesn't really matter, because it's just the rudas turns to do move ans they do moves. Seductora does a bad corner sit, which is a really hard thing to do. It involves sitting, it's not that much. She then almost misses a senton on Silueta, also not that hard. Comandante swings around Silueta a few times. Estrellita brought in for more beatings, and for randomly ignoring those beatings to slap back. Rudas get bored and just group stomp Estrellita until the DQ call. Amapola lightly shoves Edgar, Edgar shoves her away and calls the DQ.

2: Beatdown goes on. Comandante chokeslams Silueta, then Amapola holds Silueta up for a Comandante axhandle. Felino calls her 'La Nazi' because the luchadors still mostly call her that, I guess. Estrellita randomly gets on top of Amapola and punches, Amapola turns it around, and kind shoves Estrellita out. Nazi name check 2! (JCR is subtly emphasizes the right name next time he gets a word.) Dalys screams while no taking a spinebuster right. Estrellita slips out Amapola's corner hair pull spot, rolls back in the ring, and doesn’t come within a foot of kicking Seductora. Comeback doesn't last long before they go to showcases. Zoom exposes Seductora's knee coming nowhere near Dalys face. Dalys creams at the top of her lungs on every move, and the crowd seems increasingly annoyed. Sort of push off spinning DDT and dropkick to send Seductora out. Wait, this is going to be two really long falls? Silueta headscissors Comandante, avoids being killed and dropkicks dropkicks Comandante until Comandante decides to leave on her own. Amapola gives Silueta that hair pull takedown. This leads to Estrellita and Amapola and lots of reverses corner whips and mis-aimed dropkicks. They restart the cycle with Dalys in, but only enough to set up a Seductora walk to the top the rope (with slots of help from Amapola) plancha on the tecnica. Silueta backdrop pescados on both of them, and Comandante dives off the apron on the pile. Women back in, Devils' Wings, Estrellita escapes, starts for the Star Cross, and puts on headcrank armbar instead. Eh.

79th Anniversary promo. I have no idea why this is airing here, but that kills a half minute.

Estrellita challenges Amapola to hair match, saying she agreed to it last year. Amapola says last year doesn’t matter, and what Estrellita wants doesn't matter, but she'll do the match if the fans want it – only if she gets a title match first. Replays.

Match 2: La Sombra vs Volador Jr. in CMLL's Reyes del Aire Tournament final
Arena Mexico, 02/15/2013

  1. Sombra springboard double moonsault (1:09)

  2. Volador backcracker (1:54)
  3. Sombra small package (12:17)

Winner: Sombra (2-1)
Match Time: 15:20
Rating: maybe great?
Notes: Sombra is with a kid in Sombra gear, and American Football gear. Volador is wearing a white (inverted) version of his Black Spiderman outfit. Volador is white with black, Sombra is black with white, and this is no coincidence. Mije and Mephisto are with Volador, Mascara with Sombra. Matchup graphics are strangely from some other match, but the right guys. Tirantes is ref.

1: Volador springboards in to headscissors Sombra out. Sombra springboard dropkicks right back in, and follows with a big tope to knock Volador into the barricade. Volador back in first, Sombra on him with a springboard planchas. Sombra kick to the midsection, grabs Volador, Volador back away free, but runs into a powerslam. Springboard double moonsault, three count.

2: Volador has a word with Tirantes. No problems just a pleasant discussion. His mask for this match really great. Sombra off the ropes, dropkick misses, Volador kick is ducked, Volador tries to heel kick Sombra as Sombra rolls away, but Sombra moves out of her way. Both up, dueling flipping runs, they grasp at each other out, Sombra grabs Volador's head and pulls of the springboard headscissors. Volador out, Sombra does his apron flip out, but Volador in, and Sombra's caught with a kick as he comes in. Volador off the ropes, tope smacks Sombra into the barricade. Volador in first, follows by Sombra. Volador off the ropes, Rope flip caught in waistlock, big German suplex, Volador flips out of it, Sombra misses a clothesline, Volador superkick, backcracker one two three.

3: Corner to corner evasion spots sets up a Sombra headscissors, and Volador is out to the floor. Volador gets back up on the apron quick, Sombra dropkicks him off that, and Volador treats behind the corner. Sombra corner tope con giro! Replay and time shaved here. Sombra in first, Volador in behind, Sombra headscissors reversed into a face first powerbomb one two NO. Volador up and unhappy, Sombra inside cradle, Volador rolls thru, front cracker one two NO. Volador off the ropes, into a Sombra dropkick. Volador rests on the ropes, so Sombra clothesline him over to get to the ramp. Another timing shaving replay here, and then a Sombra headscissors of the top rope to the ramp. Another replay to cover up a n edit here, and Volador ducks a clothesline to headscissors Sombra on the ramp. Volador goes up top on the stage, and leaps off with a plancha. Replay of that. Amazing they're not counted out here. Replay covers up another clip, Volador springboarding back into a Sombra dropkick. One two no. Tirantes is slow counting already. Crowd reaction shot maybe covering up another clip. Sombra drops Volador in center of the ring, springboard double moonsault eats knees, Volador covers but still only two. Whip, Sombra over, and Volador leaps into a dropkick. Sombra covers one two NO. Sombra argues the count, then pulls a waving Volador over towards the corner. This doesn’t seem like a good idea, and it turns out to be not a good idea. Volador shoves Sombra out, and follows with a big tope con giro. Slow motion replay of that, and yet another clip when they're back. Volador kicks Sombra in the head from the apron, and comes with a headscissors that dives Sombra into the barricade. That was different. Replay. Clip to them both in, and Volador covering for a two count. So much editing. Volador goes for the front cracker, Sombra blocks it, lits Volador up and powerbombs him one two NO. Volador sat on top instead of a normal cover, which might have not helped him there. Both slow up, and listening to the crowd – which was buried in the mix. Sombra clotheslines Volador in the corner, but Volador pops out to superkick him. Sombra into the ropes, Volador dropkick him thru them, and to the floor. Volador tries the diving headscissors again, but Sombra blocks it and Puma King style swings him into the barricade. Replay and another big clip – you can hear the sound level jump easily on this one. Volador in, Sombra springboard into a Volador powerbomb one two NO. Shot of Mije covers up another clip – this is the least convincing one they've done so far, because Volador transports halfway across the ring in a instant – Volador misses the corner charge, Brillante Driver! One......two....NO. Glad Tirantes is making him the story here, it really adds to the match not at all. Crowd shot clip (just to complete the AAA feeling), Sombra's hung in the ropes and Volador legdrops him out of it, one two NO. Crowd shot, and suddenly Volador is on the outside and Sombra is doing his imploding tope con giro to the floor. There are some great moves here – that's one of them – but the editing has become ridiculous. Sombra rips off his shirt in celebration. Crowd shot clip. Volador on the apron,s wing kicking Sombra away. Crowd is totally in to this, not just on the pins but on the moves. Volador rests, climbs up, and Sombra stops him with a chop. Both battle on opposite does of the the middle rope, punching back and forth. Thy grab on to each other and go to the top rope- Sombra is the one pulling off the super 'rana. Sombra crawls, over, covers Volador. Mije comes in, and just kicks Tirantes as he counts to break up the pin. Mije celebrates while Tirantes is very confused. Tirantes decides to just tell Mije to go back to his corner. Sombra looks at Mije, Volador jumps on Mije's shoulders, Sombra drops him forward for his elevated German suplex, Volador leans over and grabs Mije, Sombra suplexes them both over. That's not shown form a too helpful angle. Sombra covers Volador one two NO. Crowd shot. Sombra is now on the top rope, Volador is down on the mat, Sombra tries a missile dropkick, no one home (? very odd looking missed bit), Sombra tries to land on his feet and doesn't, Sombra pops up and fireman's drops Volador in the corner, Volador knocks Sombra off the apron, and almost off to the apron. Both up top, Volador positions himself, Spanish Fly. One two NO. No crowd shot, but maybe an edit here? Volador off the ropes, casadora, but he can't hold onto it, Volador 'rana, Sombra rolls thru, Sombra Nakamura-like knee to the face one two NO. Maybe a little quicker, but thats' what it evoked. Crowd shot, and back to see Volador's slapping and superkicking Sombra. Cover, near the ropes, one two NO. Sombra into the ropes, sunset flip, Volador really goes down hard on it, one two NO. That looked like maybe one of them thought it was going to be a Destroyer, instead of just a normal sunset flip. Mascara argues the count form the outside. Both up, Sombra charges Volador in the corner, misses, Volador Spiral! Felino feels that should be called a martinete one two NO. Volador is unhappy with the count, and not paying attention to Sombra. Volador shoves Tirantes with one hand, Tirantes shoves Volador back, and that pushes Volador out of the way of a Sombra dropkick. Tirantes is not spared, and goes down hard off th ropes. Sombra clothesline misses, Volador pulls his mask, then checks on Tirantes Tirantes crawls over to count , Volador reaches down over Sombra, Sombra pulls Volador's mask and small packages him, one two three.

Mascara grabs Sombra's mask and pus his towel over Sombra's head so he can remask. Mephisto argues with Tirantes while Volador gets his mask back on. Tirantes raise Sombra's shoulder,s and Volador fouls Tirantes. Volador stomps Tirantes few times. Sombra is unconcerned and poses. Volador gets the microphone, says Sombra cheated, and demands a mask vs mask match. Sombra says he's got no problem with that match. They keep going back and forth while Bruni comes out with the trophy. Volador takes the trophy from Bruni, and tosses it outside the ring. It must be glass, because we can hear it shatter. Sombra boos him on the microphone.
