Match 1: Astral, Bam Bam ©, Fantasy vs Demus 3:16 ©, Pequeño Olímpico, Pequeño Violencia
Arena Mexico, 02/08/2013

  1. rudos

  2. técnicos
  3. técnicos

Winner: técnicos (2-1)
Match Time: 12:09
Rating: okay
Notes: Referee is Edgar.

1: Bam Bam and Olímpico start on the mat. Olimpico's either weight a giant right elbow pad or it's taped up, it's not clear. Quick mat wrestling leads to zero trips and tags. Demus and Violencia are in somewhat matching gear, but Violencia is the one in first to face Fantasy. Violencia pulls off a nice back heel trip for a near fall, and dropkicks Fantasy after a fancy spring to his feet. Violencia runs into a monkey flip to the floor to his doom, and Fantasy handsprings fakes the dive. Astral and Demus are the last two in and exchange shoulderblocks. Casadora armdrag sends Demus out, and Astral follows with a springboard headscissors to the ramp. That looked like it was going to fall apart, but Astral held it together. Fantasy tricks Olímpico into hanging the ropes, but he pulls up and out before Bam Bam can land the guillotine legdrop, and Bam Bam crashes and burns. Rudos beat both the técnicos, though Olímpico's submission is the only one that really counts.

2: Demus and the edecan have some exchange that we only see part of. Violencia and Astral evade to no obvious conclusion, Astral tries a monkey flip, and Violencia blocks it to spinebuster him instead. Violencia yells some. Astral flipped into – well, standing on his feet, but then takes a double armwringer and a double legdrop to the back of the had. Fantasy gets Olímpico with a dropkick and a side slam, but Olímpico kicks out at two. Fantasy chops Olímpico, Olímpico reverse a whip to kick Fantasy and drop him with a cradle swinging neckbreaker for two. That looked painful because of how Fantasy landed, and gets a replay. Demus and Olímpico pull off the double face first slam, but almost loses Fantasy. Bam Bam tries to brawl with Demus, but Demus gets the best of that and goes wild on him with kicks. Toss into a shoulder slam, and Demus walks around posing instead of following up. Replay of that. Spinning slam, Demus deciding for the slam when he though he couldn't get the quebradora. Demus tries to show off with a casadora, but Bam Bam just blocks it and drops him on his face, then rushes out to the ramp. Running dropkick in thru the ropes causes Demus to roll to the apron the other side, and Bam Bam slide dropkick him off. Bam Bam waits near the ropes, and Violencia sneaks behind. Bam Bam Asia is broken up by a Violencia kick. Fantasy in but slapped down. Violencia dropkick, Fantasy moves, Violencia hands in the ropes. Fantasy kicks Olímpico, then turns around and lands his guillotine moonsault. Astral double arm cradles Olímpico end the fall.

3: Fantasy cleans house on the unmasked rudos, helped by Violencia dropkicking Demus by mistake. Fantasy inside to the ramp side apron, accidentally double stomping Demus in the process. Fantasy attempts to set up a spot where Violencia monkey flips him to Demus, but it takes a while since Demus just got stomped on, and then Fantasy gets no boost off the monkey flip. Demus gets a foot in the jaw. Not good times for Demus. On screen promo for Mistico's return. Astral uses a corner rope spin to get away form Olímpico, kicks down Violencia, flips off the apron to avoid Olímpico, and then swings Olímpico into the barricade on a casadora attempt. It's a variation of the Puma/Cometa spot. Astral crawls back in, but Demus just stomps him. Demus demands a hanshake from Bam Bam, Bam Bam just slaps the hand away. Bam Bam is still fast despite his current weight. Bam Bam middle rope headscissors Demus, Demus clotheslines him hard. Corner whip, reverses, Bam Bam charges in, Demus sets him up top, valagueza, Bam Bam slips out to a sunset flip, one two three. Cut to fans, who are mildly accepted.

80th Anniversary promo.

Match 2: Hijo del Fantasma, Rey Cometa, Stuka Jr. vs Misterioso Jr., Namajague, Shigeo Okumura
Arena Mexico, 02/08/2013

  1. técnicos

  2. técnicos

Winner: técnicos
Match Time: 7:24
Rating: good
Notes: Show ran oddly long in Mexico (10 minutes). In the US version, they've cut out the first fall of this match to adjust for the time. Match is picked up in the second fall with no explanation. Referee is Tiger Hispano. Namajague is in his new, scarier mask here.

2: Stuka's mask is off, which would seem to be a DQ, except they probably ended the last fall that way and Stuka just hasn't had a chance to do anything about it. Rudos work over Stuka, who holds one or both hands over his face. Namajague finally drags poor Stuka to the ramp and kicks him towards the stage. The other two rudos work over Fantasma. Stuka makes his way backstage and Namajague returns to the ring. Misterioso listens to a rudos chant. Místico promo while Rey Cometa argues with the ref. Namajague gets a near fall on Cometa off a back elbow, then taunts Cometa. by holding Fantasma's hand just short. Namajague headbutts Fantasma and forgets about him, allowing him to actually tag Cometa. Okumura cheap shots Cometa from behind, and Namajague kicks him in the head a couple times. Okumura takes over for his corner clotheslines. Jawbreaker, then tag to Misterioso to get in his shots. Cometa flips on a Misterioso clothesline. Namajague is impressed by Misterioso's double chop to the back of Cometa. Misterioso slaps Cometa in the chest hard too. Fantasma comes in, and is chopped as well. Flapjack faceslam and a kick to the head. Stuka returns, with a new mask, ducking Namajague's clothesline and quebradora-ing Okumura. Stuka charges Namajague and monkey flips him down the rap. Misterioso stops Stuka with a big double chop and pulls him back into the ring. Misterioso gives Tigre Hispano a piece of his mind, then drags Stuka by his untied mask. Okumura comes in to help, and they both hold Stuka for Namajague to get in shots. Stuka break free, and dropkicks Namajague out. Other rudos double chop Stuka down. Cometa tire a dropkick, misses, and takes a double chop too. Corner whip, Okumura clothesline, Fantasma whipped in by Misterioso, Cometa flips him to safety, Misterioso charges in, Cometa moves, Okumura charges, Cometa trips him on the apron for a Fantasma kick. Cometa headscissors Misterioso out, Okumura kicks him, and Fantasma Phantom Lariat Okumura. Cometa up top – top rope tornillo onto Misterioso the floor. Fantasma tope con giros Okumura the other way. Namajague and Stuka back in, Stuka quebradora, Stuka snap mare, and Stuka goes for the mask. Stuka rips the mask in half in one yank! Namajague tries to pull it up, but there's no way it's staying there with the big wig of hair. Stuka fireman drops Namajague in the center of the ring – the mask falls off while Namajague is on Stuka's shoulders , and Tigre Hispano just picks it up and gives it back to Namajague – and goes up. Stuka goes up awful slow, so Namajague has a chance to get up (face blurred) and spit something in Stuka's face. Stuka's mask comes off too, Namajague grabs his own mask and cover his face with it, but Tigre Hispano breaks up the pin and calls the match of Stuka.

I'm not sure how you rule for one or the other there. Namajague throws down his mask and argues the same thing. Fantasma tries to help Stuka with his mask, but he tries to crawl out of the ring to get Namajague. Ah, Stuka is trying to get the mist (?) off his face. Fantasma helps him with that, and then Stuka gets his mask back on. Namajague, with a shirt wrapped around his face, leads an attack on the técnicos. Replays. Announcers talk over the beginning of Stuka on the mic, but his mask vs mask challenge gets thru. Okumura says he's the boss of Fiebre Amarillo, so he the guy to challenge, mask vs hair. Namajague and Okumura attack Stuka again. Cut to Rey Cometa, who says they should do the mask vs mask match, and the Mexicans aren't going it along. Cometa makes the mask/hair challenge.

Backstage, Stuka and Cometa repeat the challenges. Stuka is crazy here.

Terrible kicks Atlantis in the wrist, stretches the arm around the ropes, and slaps Atlantis down. Atlantis crawls for a tag, and Rush helps out by actually getting to his corner, but no go. Rudos pull Atlantis to the ramp for the boosted sit. Rudos again stop Atlantis from making a tag and all stomp him down in their corner. Rush runs over to help, but Terrible disables him with a slap, then he and Tiger knock Shocker out. Comandante kicks Shocker down on the floor! Atlantis turns around a corner whip, forearm Tiger, duck an UG clothesline misses one on him, and chases him up the ramp. Other four in, and técnicos immediately beat the rudos.

UG mostly lays on the ground to get away from Atlantis. Shocker shows more energy trying to get Tigre's mask.

3: Rush stomps and chokes Terrible around the inside while UG kicks Atlantis around on the inside. UG slides out on the first reversed whip. Crowd shot clip. Shocker clotheslines Tiger, and Tiger leaves. Terrible finally takes off his shirt to face off with Shocker. Shocker does some pointing, some warming up. Any time, Shocker. Terrible slaps Shocker, Shocker staggers but doesn't go down – oh, he just went down. Rush leans on the ropes to scream at Shocker to get up, and kicks at Rush's head. Shocker comes back with chops and forearms, knocking Terrible down. Tiger grabs Shocker, but only gets the faceslam from Terrible. Shocker spears Terrible.
