Match 1: Höruz & Robin vs Guerrero Negro Jr. & Herodes Jr.
Arena Mexico, 02/05/2013

  1. rudos

  2. técnicos
  3. rudos

Winner: rudos (2-1)
Match Time: 14:30
Rating: eh
Notes: We're welcome to the match by someone doing a Tarzan scream. I have no idea. Pompin is the ref.

1: Pairs are Robin/Herodes and Höruz/Negro. Herodes and Robin are very slow doing the basic stuff. The next pair are not much better. Guerrero Negro is wearing white gloves for whatever reason. On the second time thru, Negro interferes from the apron to trip up Robin on the buckles, and comes in to hit his own dropkick. Negro lands a top rope splash while Herodes takes care of Höruz.

2: Rudo beatdown continues to bore the crowd. Exciting leg work on occasion. Robin takes a spectacular flip off a Negro dropkick, but appears to do it way too soon. A long bit of talking before sending Höruz into the ropes for a double clothesline. No idea what they could've been talking about. Guerrero Negro starts to leave and then come back to hiptoss Höruz out. This fall is going on forever, and it's only been five minutes on the block. Negro walks Höruz half way around the ring, slowly demanding a handshake, before finally slapping him. Negro switches to the crazy fighting bit. Robin randomly slams Herodes, goes up, and hits him sort of with the senton con giro with no set up for the finish. Höruz gets an iffy cradle.

3: Horuz's offense at least brings some energy into this. It's been badly missing. Robin gives Negro a rope bounce headscissors out. Herodes randomly German supelxes Höruz for 3, which is out of nowhere but happily means this is open away from behind. Herodes lifts robin up for a Guerrero Negro backcracker, and this is a quick fall.

Match 2: Leono, Metálico, Pegasso vs Bobby Zavala, Cholo, Disturbio
Arena Mexico, 02/05/2013

  1. rudos

  2. técnicos
  3. técnicos

Winner: técnicos (2-1)
Match Time: 17:46
Rating: eh
Notes: Referee is Bestia Negra.

1: Match starts with Metálico and Zavala, but Zavala can't resist swiping at Leono. The original two don't accomplish much. They are followed by Cholo and Pegasso, a weird concept which includes Pegasso doing the crane pose to mock noted martial artist Cholo. Cholo holds down Pegasso by just holding a knee on his foot for a while. Actions speeds up with Leono and Disturbio, despite Leono's slow headscissors. Cholo shoulderblocks Leono out, then gets cut off by a Pegasso plancha. Headscissors sends Cholo out, but Zavala dropkick Pegasso stops more. Pegasso slides out on a whip, and Metálico topes Cholo. Metalico, Disturbio and Zavala do not work smoothly together, but eventually hang Metálico off the apron for a Cholo dropkick. That leaves Cholo alone with Leono, a bad idea. Zavala and Disturbio make the save in time, and give Leono corner low blows until Zavala finishes it. Leono is apparently the captain, though Bestia Negra looks around as if expecting someone else to get beat.

2: Rudos work over Metálico and give him the Skándalo low blow dropkick. I was worried their weren't enough of those. Pegasso takes a double boot from Zavala and Disturbio, who kiss in celebrate. Crowd is amused, and this distracts them into the técnico comeback. Metailco hits a dropkick/armdrag, Cholo kicks him, Leono is running behind with a springboard armdrag, and then finishes with a springboard into a Rosa. Pegasso smoothly finishes up.

3: Cholo and Pegasso start. Metálico looks good vs Zavala, until Zavala just doesn’t go with him on a headscissors (I guess blocking it, but it didn't look that way.) Metálico gets back in control up to his apron dropkick. Leono wraps up Disturbio with a screaming casadora cradle, but it's not enough for three. Disturbio puts Leono a hold, and Metálico breaks it up. Disturbio puts himself into a Metálico submission, and he's done.

Metálico wins a kick fight with Cholo, but Cholo traps him into the Cholock and he's done.

Pegasso carefully headscissors them both out. Leono and Zavala left in. Zavala tosses off his shirt, runs, and takes a quebradora. Zavala tries to do the same to Leono, Leono flips out, Zavala (low blow?) kick is caught, Zavala swings but can't reach Leono, Leono spins him around, Leono runs, Zavala ducks an invisible clothesline, Leono 'rana one two three. Crowd appears.

Match 3: Dalis la Caribeña, Estrellita, Marcela vs Amapola, Princesa Blanca, Princesa Sugheit
Arena Mexico, 02/05/2013

  1. técnicas

  2. rudas
  3. rudas

Winner: rudas (2-1)
Match Time: 11:08
Rating: poor
Notes: Rudas have jumped the técnicos, though it takes a while for the camera to catch up to Estrellita and Amapola on the outside. Referee is Bestia Negra.

1: Princesa take out the other two with little difficulty. Nice double arm suplex lift into a forward drop into a Sugheit's kick bit by the ladies. Amapola beats up Estrellita herself at first but everyone comes in for corner charges. Dalis and Marcela get a second trip thru, then Estrellita ducks a double clothesline (twice!) and dropkicks Amapola. Estrellita planchas Amapola Amapola off the apron, and the other técnicas put on submissions to end this.

Amapola is content to shove the camera and walk away from Estrellita in between falls, but Estrellita chases her and gets beat up.

2: Rudas get back in control for no reason – well, maybe because Estrellita got beat up outside – and resume working over the rudas. Dalis and Marcela take corner charges at the same time, while Estrellita is given Amapola's usual offense. Rudas quickly wrap this up while Amapola again beats up Estrellita outside.

3: A third fall starting with the rudos in charge. Marcela finally (but clumsily) rolls over a double clothesline, and Dalys lands a clumsy looking one of her own. Marcela and Dalys get in her offense in order. Dalys' offense include a horrible quebradora, where she forgets to stick her knee out. Crowd loudly boos. No one's fooled by Dalys. She and Marcela get in sillas before the feuding to finish it with counters. Estrellita puts Amapola in a camel clutch for submission. Amapola evidentially gives up, though Bestia Negra does not make it clear, then Bestia Negra gives Estrellita what appears to be a three (not a five) count before pulling her off and awarding the match to Amapola. Atrocious finish.

Match 4: Blue Panther, La Máscara, Super Porky vs Averno, Ephesto, Negro Casas
Arena Mexico, 02/05/2013

  1. técnicos

  2. rudos
  3. técnicos

Winner: técnicos
Match Time: 11:59
Rating: okay
Notes: Referee is Terror Chino.

1: Apparently this is going to be about Negro Casas and Super Porky feuding, because Negro does his best to avoid having to fight Super Porky. Or maybe he just doesn't want to deal with Super Porky. Their fight is more wrestling and less comedy than usual, though Negro fails at suplexing Porky and Porky doesn't fail at suplexing Negro to end it. Mascara is wearing a Porra Tepito shirt to suck up. (I'm down on everything at this point in the show! It's also a nice gesture.) Mascara and Ephesto do the more normal opening spots, but don't last long before a Mascara headscissors. Averno kicks him out, Panther comes in but it's Mascara who trips up Averno form the outside. Panther and Averno do a nice bit of evading, Averno clothesline blocked, Averno punch turned into a top wristlock, Averno's done. Blue Panther keeps his hold on for just about as long as Estrellita did, is not disqualified.

2: Negro yanks around Mascara by his ear holes, so Mascara yanks Negro around by his hair. Swing kick/flying armdrag combo. Ephesto comes in, Ephesto takes a rolling dropkick out. Shirt off to face Averno, flipping armdrag and tag to Panther four the double tope spot. Averno sunset flips Panther, then leans back to so Porky can splash him. Panther has to wait for Porky to crawl out of the ring, under the bottom rope, and back to his corner so he can be tagged right back in. That was not a waste of time, at all. Averno and Ephesto lift Porky up, and Máscara shoves them over for the headlock, headscissors. Negro clotheslines Máscara, Porky walks and knocks down Negro Casas, knocks down Ephesto, Averno slaps Porky! Ephesto tope, and over for one pin, while Negro submits Panther, and keeps on the hold for far longer than Estrellita. He is not disqualified.

3: Rudos were beating up the técnicos between falls, but settle down to one on one here. Or everyone taking at urn working over Máscara and holding him from making a tag at first. Terror Chino knocks Panther down as he stands on the ropes reaching for a tag, which seems a bit much. Máscara finally turns it around and tags in Panther, who goes wild on Negro and drops him with a DDT. Ephesto and Averno stop Panther and the rudos work him over for a while instead. Negro kicks Panther in the face a bunch. They battle to the ropes, where Panther ends up giving Negro a super armdrag, and tagging Mascara back in. Averno comes in, and after Mascara gets in one move, stops him with a testicular claw. Mascara comes right back, flipping armdrag, tope on the outside. Porky runs across the ring to flatten Ephesto and plancha him. Negro and Panther slap at each other and fall out of the ring. Ephesto back in, splashes in the corner by Porky. Máscara campana on Averno, Averno gives, that's the fall.

Match 5: La Sombra vs Mr. Niebla
Arena Mexico, 02/05/2013

  1. Mr. Niebla middle rope senton (1:34)

  2. Sombra double moonsault (3:26)
  3. DQ Mr. Niebla (7:45)

Winner: Sombra (2-1)
Match Time: 12:45
Rating: ok
Notes: Niebla jumps Sombra on his way to the ring and kicks him to the ring. Zacarias is with Niebla. Referee is Tirantes.

1: Niebla hammers Sombra with a clothesline, and Sombra ends up on his shoulders. Niebla likes it so much he does it again. Niebla corner charge, Sombra under a clothesline, headscissors takes Niebla out, Sombra slides out after him, Niebla slaps Sombra and sends him into the barricade, Sombra flipping over backwards. Tirantes is content to count them both out. Niebla retrieves Sombra, throws him back in, scoops him up and slams him, heads to the middle rope, and lands a big senton. That's it for three.

2: Niebla has thrown Sombra out of the ring before the fall has even started. Slap to the head. Sombra chops back, gets slapped in the head again. Niebla throws Sombra back in. Niebla powerbomb. Niebla in no hurry. Niebla puts Sombra in a time killing hold and goes for his mask, then drops him near the corner so Zacarias can get in his kicks. Tirantes argues with the parrot. Whip, clothesline misses – Niebla's biggest weakness! - handspring back elbow knocks Niebla to the apron. Niebla gets in another head slap, but slips while dancing on the apron. Sombra goes for a dive, Zacarias cuts him off, Sombra kicks Zacarias off the apron to Niebla,a then tope con giros both of them. Zacarias crawls away to hide from Sombra. Replay of his dive. Sombra tries to fireman's drop Niebla and ends up dropping him forward. Replay graphic up even though this is live – someone not paying attention the truck? Sombra covers for two, the tries the drop again, and it goes better this time. Double moonsault one two three.

3: Niebla knocks down Sombra right away. Slap. Corner whip, Sombra kips up and out, and into a Niebla clothesline. Niebla dance, spit is caught on Niebla's head. Sombra dropkicks him out, then flips on the apron to the floor and whips Niebla into the barricade. (Niebla does not go over.) Zacarias tries to plancha Sombra, but Sombra catches him, sets him down, and whips Zacarias hard into the barricade! That was rough looking. Sombra brings Niebla back in and dropkicks him in in the head for a two count. Sombra drops Niebla in the corner and goes for the rope flip, but Niebla stops him and grabs his mask. Niebla slams Sombra. Top rope splash, one two NO. Niebla was counting it out for three, never quite got there. Niebla slams Sombra again, and climbs up. Uh oh. Nieblasault misses! Sombra covers one two NO. Sombra can't believe that isn't three and argues loudly with Sombra. Sombra 'rana on Niebla (!) one two NO. Sombra looks a bit distraught. Casadora, no, Niebla gets free. Sombra charge Niebla, Niebla tosses him in the corner, backs up, charges, and spears the post. Sombra up top, moonsault onto Niebla. Replay. Sombra back in first, Niebla slaps him away, gos up, and crotches himself. Sombra climbs up with him, can't get it, punches more, and pulls of the superplex. One two NO. Sombra was counting that time, and again argues with Tirantes. Sombra stomps Niebla, drops him very near the corner, rope flip moonsault gets knees, Niebla covers, one two NO. Corner whip, Sombra corner sunset flip, Niebla reverses and grabs the ropes, one two NO. Niebla pauses to get the crowd to cheer for him. Sombra 'rana, Niebla powerbomb with feet on the ropes, one two no. What cliché spots are left? Apparently, Niebla slapping Tirantes by mistake. Niebla fouls Sombra, and stands over him while looking at Tirantes as he gets up. Niebla is supposed to be surprised he's disqualified here, but doesn't go thru the pretense of continuing the match. Tirantes shoves Niebla, raises Sombra's hand.

Sombra challenges Mr. Niebla to a one more fall. Tirantes is long gone. Niebla says Sombra isn't in his (weight) category. Sombra still says he wants Niebla's mask. Niebla says Sombra can't even make that challenge to a guy like him. Sombra tells Niebla to accept if he's so easy to beat. This back and forth has now gone on longer than the first two falls. Niebla declines and leaves.

Announcers wrap up.
