Match 1: Diamante Azul, Místico ©, Valiente vs Dragón Rojo Jr., Ephesto, Mephisto ©
Arena Mexico, 08/17/2012

  1. rudos

  2. técnicos
  3. técnicos

Winner: técnicos
Match Time: 17:07
Rating: ok
Notes: Místico gets last entrance for the técnicos, but the rudos comes out second. Referee is Terror Chino.

1: Pairs are Valiente/Dragon Rojo, Diamante Azul/Ephesto, Místico/Mephisto. Valiente and Dragon Rojo go a long way with opening mat wresting, especially long given Rojo doesn't have a lot he can do. Crowd is loudly chanting for – something, maybe Místico, maybe Rudo – while Ephesto is stalling before facing Azul. They don't really do much either, Ephesto going out after a simple armdrag and backing away from Azul when he chases him. Crowd is as loud as they've been for the end of masks matches when Místico and Mephisto are in; they're obviously monkeying with the sound now. Action speeds up with these two in here. Místico get in an armdrag to loud boos, then the off the he mat headscissors to more boos. Rudos yell encouragement to Mephisto. Mephisto leads Místico into a roll jump into a headscissors, and then zero pins to end it. Or not, Místico runs backwards into the ropes and headscissors Mephisto out. Místico slides out after, charges Mephisto and Mephisto flapjacks him on the floor. Rudos stomp him down and keep the other técnicos at bay. Rojo drops Místico chest first on the barricade a couple times, much to the crowd's approval. Mephisto brings Diamante Azul in, does a move we don't see (Devil's Wings?) covers him for two, lets him up, overs Azul again, and gets three this time. I have no idea that was about, but Mephisto sure seemed to be sending a message.

2: Announcers assure us that the rudos have been beating up Místico in between falls. Mephisto slaps a mostly dead Místico around as we pick up. Flapjack, kick to the chest, one two NO. Dragon Rojo takes over with a drop toe hold and a double stomp to the back. Místico is dead weight as Rojo drags him back to the rudo corner. Ephesto slams Místico, then goes after his left arm a bit. Mephisto kicks Místico questionable low, questionably enough to get a slow motion replay. Ephesto gives Místico a running sit on his back, which at least allows him to escape. Azul in, but double teamed by Ephesto and Dragon Rojo and soon taking the low blow corner dropkick. Valiente is kicked around and out. It appears they're trying to keep the match as uneventful as possible outside of Místico's offense. Azul back in and dropkicked in the knee. He fights back with slaps, but Rojo heel kicks him. Corner whip, charge, Azul flips Rojo to the apron and Valiente wipes him out with a dropkick. Azul superkicks Ephesto off the apron, Valiente in, he and Mephisto get lost and put together a really bad headscissors to the second pas before Mephisto just kicks Valiente out, clearing the way for Mistico's springboard headscissors and toss headscissors onto the ramp on Ephesto. Valiente headscissors Mephisto out cleanly this time, setting up for Mistico's old run up the corner and off with a tope con giro. Técnicos wrap things up with their moves, then retrieve Místico.

3: Valiente spins Dragon Rojo with a headscissors and lands a springboard planchas for two, but runs right into a Rojo spear. Valiente flips out of the corner on a corner charge, causing Dragon Rojo to spear the post and fly out, and Valiente follows to give him a quebradora on the floor. Ephesto begs for a handshake from Azul, but he's not getting it. Azul monkey flips Ephesto well into the ropes, then tries for a headscissors. It is no good, never try that again. Tope topes Ephesto down on the camera side, not much into it. Ephesto grabs his head anyway. Místico flipping run to start with Mephisto, then a headscissors landing on his feet. Mistico's mask is loose. Místico does the rope walk up flip to the ramp, really for no reason. Mephisto wanders over to gets kicked. Místico backs up, runs up the ropes and headscissors Mephisto. Dive tease and pose. Dragon Rojo swats at him, and Azul congratulates (slightly shoves) Místico into running into Rojo's kick. Azul in with a plancha, dropkick misses, Rojo picks and whips Azul, Azul turns it around and Rojo slumps in the corner. Azul sets up, and lands the rolling senton in the corner to crush Rojo. Back live, Azul is laying on the ramp for some reason, and Ephesto is taking the knee bump to the floor. Valiente Special! Azul tope con giro off the apron. Místico and Mephisto are the last two standing. Evasion, Místico flying armscissors into the cross armbreaker. Mephisto gives.

Tecnicos get their hands raised. Cut to hysterical fan (surrounded by many who don't seem to care.)

Match 2: Volador Jr. vs Mr. Niebla
Arena Mexico, 08/17/2012

  1. Volador backcracker (2:53)

  2. Nieblina (3:13)
  3. DQ Volador Jr. (8:07)

Winner: Mr. Niebla
Match Time: 14:13
Rating: okay
Notes: Mr. Niebla (and Zacarias, of course) enter first this time. Volador does not sneak attack him! Niebla's right, Volador has a lot to learn. Oh, that's because he's coming thru the crowd, as the (psychic!) camera man happens to notice despite it being pitch dark and all. Maybe Volador tipped him off? Niebla and Zacarias watch Mije walk to the ring, totally missing Volador coming in with Niebla's own garbage can to smack him. Zac was sort of looking that way, I don’t know how he missed it. Graphic shows the match is Titan vs Ultimo Guerrero – how does that even happen? Referee is Tirantes , who ignores Volador hitting Zac and Niebla with the can.

1: Volador uses a popcorn can as well before Tirantes takes it away too. Volador poses instead. Volador collects Niebla, ripping his mask and letting him put off the ring. Into the barricade, Niebla rolling over before impact. Crowd is behind Niebla. Volador poses, spots Zacarias, grabs him by the head, and throws him into the barricade! Zacarias is really the guy getting the worst of this Niebla/Volador feud. Volador throws Niebla back in and kicks him again. Volador starts ripping up Niebla's gear, but is distracted by the fans chants. Volador goes back to ripping up Niebla's pants, with Niebla not subtly helping him make the ripe bigger. The right leg is wrecked, exposing a giant kneebrace (and luckily only exposing that.) Whip, Volador and Niebla do the double duck down goof up, Volador sets up for the kick to the chest, superkick bit, Niebla spins after the first kick instead, Volador figures it out and gives him the backcracker for the fall. Again, Volador is in the técnico color as far as the graphic care, but the graphics thought Titan and UG were in this match so what do they know.

Volador somehow ends up with a wooden crutch, kicks Zacarias down on the apron, and assaults him with the crutch. He really dislikes that parrot. Crutch to Niebla. Tirantes will allow it.

2: Mije stomps and knees Zacarias, but Zacarias comes back with a punch. Volador kicks Zacarias down and Mije gets in more shots, beating Zacarias with is own coat. Volador comes back in to break the count, and unites Mr. Niebla's mask a bit. They go outside for chops and and wandering. Niebla takes his big bump into the barricade again. Back in for choke on the ropes. Crowd definitely supporting Niebla this week. Corner whip, Volador charges, Niebla throws him face first into the buckle. Volador slaps Niebla, which just starts Niebla dancing. Slap to the head, down goes Volador. Niebla fires up, clothesline for Volador, Niebla dance. Spit is – caught! Volador takedown down, and immediately put in Nieblina.

3: Niebla's turn to throw Volador around and go after Volador's microphone. You can hear with them mess with the audio levels. Volador kicks Niebla on a charge, Niebla adjusts his head, Volador off the ropes, flipping run, clothesline misses, clothesline misses, Niebla tells Volador stop so he can dance, Niebla dances, Volador superkicks him thru the ropes and kicks him to the floor. Volador seems to be hurting in the ring, but runs the ropes and lands his tope on giro well. Volador makes it back in first, but Niebla head slaps him and heads up. Niebla manages to crotch himself. Volador climbs up with him, but Niebla shoves him into crotching himself too. Volador falls on the mat, and Niebla splashes him one two NO. Volador casadora cradle, Niebla reverses, grabs the bottom rope, does it way too obviously, Tirantes stops counting. Niebla argues with Tirantes about it, but it was really Niebla who grabbed the ropes. Niebla feeds himself into a Volador small package one two NO. Niebla slams Volador and looks a the corner. Niebla slowly climbs up, moonsault – lands! One two NO. Slow count there. Niebla goes up again, moonsault – misses! Volador rolls him over one two NO. Something's up with Volador – he takes off the tape on his hands (which have been bugging him since before the tope con giro), and the doctor retapes the middle finger on Volador's right hand as he lays near the apron. Volador and Niebla get up, are lost for a second, and Niebla slaps Volador again. Is he going to try this for a third time? No one seems quite sure. This time, he goes for a splash, but Volador cut his him off and joins him on top. Careful foot positioning, then the Volador moonsault. They go well to the side, but seemed to plan it that way. Both men are down after the mood, Mije walks in and pots Volador on top, Tirantes gets rid of Mije but counts anyway, one two NO. Mije comes back in to check on Volador, who looks dazed. Niebla charges, Volador leapfrog him, Niebla sees Mije and tosses him by his head. Niebla tries a waistlock on Volador, Volador elbows him away. Volador misses a clothesline, Niebla tells him to stop, Volador stops - and pulls off Niebla's mask. Volador turns and celebrates, but Niebla isn't covering up, because he's covered up underneath the mask. Tirantes raises Niebla's hand, Niebla waits for Volador to turn around, and Niebla foul kicks Volador with some force into it. Volador collapses (still with the mask) and Niebla poses. Tirantes walks off.

Volador rolls around on the mat clutching himself while Niebla celebrates and dances. He's in hurry to his mask back on. Replay. Niebla tells Volador he's good, but he's no Niebla. Volador says he recognizes Niebla is a good luchador, but what he wants is a mask vs mask. Niebla asks the fans if he should accept the challenge from this idiot. Fans say yes, so Niebla says they're idiots too.

Replays and done.
