Match 1: Freesbe & Robin vs Apocalipsis & Inquisidor
Arena Mexico, 08/07/2012
rudos
Winner: rudos (2-1)
Match Time: 11:12
Rating: bad
Notes: Referee is Terror Chino.
1: Pairs are Apocalipsis & Robin and Freesbe & Inquisidor. Robin grabs his head every time he falls down, which seems not good. Inquisidor and Freesbe conspire to take forever on a monkey flip, which the técnico lands on his feet with anyway. They smoothly move onto nearly blowing the next armdrag. Freesbe slams Inquisidor for a Robin senton con giro, but Inquisidor moves and Apocalipsis pulls Freesbe out. Apocalipsis and Robin blow something, and then Apocalipsis submits Robin to help put an end to this one. Can't they just turn this to one fall right now? Just let the main event go five falls, it'll work out. Inquisidor powerbombs Freesbe and takes forever to figure out his leg lock. Crowd has no reaction to the finish, then strong boos. They might have been in shock.
2: Rudos knock around the técnicos for a while. This goes smoother than the opening fall, mostly because it's very limited in it's complexity. Rudos eventually toss Freesbe into a slow 'rana on Apocalipsis for one pin. Inquisidor walks to the pin, stops, and turns so he can take a Robin plancha. Robin uses an armbar for his win. More boos.
3: Robin shows off a flying armdrag and a headscissors. Announcers sound thrilled whenever a match goes right in this fall. Freesbe takes care Apocalipsis with a springboard tornillo armdrag and a push off headscissors. Apocalipsis goes out, which shows us the many empty seats. They don't seem more than three rows deep in most areas. Inquisidor catches Robin on a charge, sits him in the ropes facing out, slaps him in the back, runs off the far ropes, comes back for a springboard – and blows the springboard. I hate Inquisidor's set up and am happy he blew it, but this is the worst. Crowd hoots as Inquisidor just dos a dropkick instead, drops Robin with a Pólvora special, and then adds a cavernaria. Apocalipsis and Freesbe go a few spots before Apocalipsis gets in a German suplex, and it's mercifully over.
Match 2: Fantasy, Niño de Acero, Shockercito vs Mercurio, Pequeño Universo 2000, Pequeño Violencia
Arena Mexico, 08/07/2012
técnicos
Winner: técnicos (2-1)
Match Time: 11:19
Rating: eh
Notes: Referee is Bestia Negra.
1: Pairs are Fantasy/Universo, Mercurio/Acero, and Shockercito/Violencia. Mercurio has an red mask that feels more like Mercury than Random Mini. Red matching outfit too, he's no Astral. It doesn't help stop him from being armdragged by Acero. Shockercito hops back in to pose for a second, and Violencia immediately kicks him in the face. Welcome back! Shockercito comes back with armdrags and gets the much bigger Violencia in the reinera without much of a problem. Abrupt end to the fall.
2: técnico run off offense continues. Niño de Acero tries a front facelock into a powerbomb move that doesn't come off great. Definite work in progress. Mercurio takes that, and can't escape when Fantasy comes in and powerbombs him. Mercurio turns it around by dropkicking a springboarding Fantasy, but the spot doesn’t look any good. Universo dropkicks Fantasy, Fantasy comes back with a quebradora which doesn't lay Universo flat. Shocker runs in to dropkick Universo, but Universo drops his head to avoid it and Shockercito just sort of lays on him. That could've gone better. Dropkick to the knee, dropkick to the head send the rudo out and Violencia back in. Shockercito and Violencia are hesitant with each other at first, but Shockercito pulls off a flapjack escape armdrag before Violencia armdrag him out. Rudos hold and beat Fantasy in the corner. Monkey flip, Fantasy escapes, but right into a Mercurio superkick. Niño de Acero runs in to take the tecnico's place, and Mercurio gives him a sit down piledriver. Universo double arm suplexes Shockercito before adding a senton for the fall.
3: Niño de Acero pulls of a casadora armdrag on Violencia fine, whiffs on a springboard armdrag but Violencia goes with it anyway. Niño de Acero dropkicks Violencia off and shows off a (new?) pose. Shocker and Universo evade before a nice flipping armdrag by Shockercito sends the rudo out. Mercurio & Fantasy have a good segment with a monkey flip and a headscissors. Shockercito adds a tope to send Mercurio over the rail. Violencia in, Fantasy avoids and pulls him down by his mask. More avoidance ends with Fantasy dropping down on the mat, and Violencia stopping and yanking off his mask. That was random.
Match 3: Cancerbero, Raziel, Virus © vs Arkángel de la Muerte, Nitro ©, Skándalo
Arena Mexico, 08/07/2012
Cancerberos
Winner: Cancerberos
Match Time: 19:26
Rating: not good
Notes: Referee is Terror Chino.
1: Nitro and Cancerbero start on the mat for a couple minutes. Arkangel vs Virus does not last long, Arkangel rolling out under forty five seconds after an armdrag, and Arkangel not returning despite Virus inviting him multiple times. Skándalo and Raziel go last, Raziel being too fast for the bigger man until he finally backdrops him to the apron. Skándalo yells and runs, but the other Cancerberos knocks him down and hold him for Raziel's springboard dropkick. Three count to eliminated him. Again, Arkangel doesn't want to fight, but eventually relents and ends up rolling back elbowing Raziel out of the ring. Virus clips Arkangel, Cancerbero clothesline and boots him into the ropes, then holds Arkangel upside down for Virus' dropkick. Cancerbero half crab with hammerlock, and that's it. No one played strong rudo or técnico, though the Cancerberos were the ones using double teams.
2: Cancerberos beat up the Tuareg around the ring and go for their masks, so they are the rudos at the moment. Neither of these teams are natural técnicos, but the Tuareg have less técnico appeal. Cancerberos will at least do hot moves. Everyone quickly ends up in the corner anyway. Nitro and Virus chop, and then kicks each other, then Virus shoves him into his corner for some help. Raziel and Cancerbero hand off, chopping and kicking Nitro around. Arkangel wants in, now. Cancerbero clotheslines Nitro and slaps the rudos,a dn again the referee have to hold Arkangel back again. Nitro sips in a drop toe hold and kick to Cancerbero's chest, but is in no hurry to make a tag. Nitro actually knocks Raziel into the Tuareg corner, still does not make the tag he was desperate reaching for a moment ago. Raziel turns it around, trips up Nitro, and now the Tuareg are despite to make the tag again. Too bad, your partner is dumb. Camel clutch, dropkick to the face, Arkangel breaks up the pin. Raziel takes care of Arkangel with a dropkick, then calls Nitro back in. Nitro comes back in, even though he's been beat for a couple minuets. It's fine, Virus & Raziel screw up on their own. Nitro sort of wins a chop fight and backdrops Virus. Skándalo in, spinebuster, hold, and Arkangel adds a low blow elbow drop. Tuareg are all very happy now. Cancerbero knocks down Arkangel, and stops him from making a tag. Referee won't let Skándalo in, even though Arkangel just ran in without any tag. Cancerbero chokes Arkangel on the ropes, Nitro tags him, and the referee just lets him in that time. I don't know. This match is annoying me, and the clock says it's not even half over. Skándalo low blow dropkick, check, and enough for the pin.
Raziel attacks Cancerbero after his partner has been limited, but Skándalo randomly turns it around and hands him off to Arkangel. They have a slow chop fight, out of place for part of match after an elimination. Arkangel knocked own Raziel with the rolling back elbow. Virus comes in with out a tag and chops Arkangel around. Arkangel turns it around, camel clutch & top rope dropkick for Nitro. Nitro puts on an armbar too, doesn’t really need to. Tuareg run around to celebrate.
3: Arkangel shows off with jumping spinning armdrags on Cancerbero. They look nice, though Cancerbero just get up and walks out instead of being propelled out. Virus and Nitro stat with a chop fight, do some wrestling, go back to the chop fight, go outside to do it there, and then just stop fighting outside instead, thought the others stand around to add nothing as well. Skándalo low blows elbow drops Raziel for a near fall. Raziel gets his own on a sunset flip. Crowd is not into this. Raziel tries a couple more pinfalls which aren't actually going to work, then bizarrely pulls out on a moonsault. That's just as much a two count as the small package before, but okay. Raziel tries to lift Skándalo up for a powerbomb, but Skándalo just reverses it into the Skándalo Driver. That's it for Raziel.
Virus tries to surprise Skándalo with a cradle. That doesn't work, but he also get a near fall off a legdrop before dropkicking him out. Arkangel hits the rolling back elbow for the third time in the match, then planchas on (or near) Virus to the floor. Nitro and Skándalo back in, Nitro rolls thru an inside cradle but can't get the submission. Near falls on a 'rana and a reversal. That would've been a rally good spot in a better built match. Nitro slaps around Cancerbero, corner whip, Cancerbero flips him to the apron, Nitro fights him off and goes or the missile dropkick, Cancerbero moves and hooks Nitro in the scorpion. That's it. Bucanero celebrates a rudo win.
Match 4: Delta, Diamante, Guerrero Maya Jr. vs Namajague, Shigeo Okumura ©, Vangelis
Arena Mexico, 08/07/2012
rudos
técnicos
Winner: técnicos (2-1)
Match Time: 12:44
Rating: good
Notes: referee is Bestia Negra.
1: Namajague & Maya start, as the announcers discuss Rush sending Naito to the hospital in the G1. Maya headstands out of a headscissors nicely. Namajague is very alarmed by being caught in a Maya armbar, and is armdragged out to end it. Vangelis holds Delta in an elbow low for a while to start their exchange. Things do speed up, and Delta headscissors Vangelis out to end it. Vangelis stops to crane pose before running out of dive range. Okumura and Diamante are last. Diamante turns one flip to the apron into a jawbreaker and a springboard dropkick, but gets flipped all the way to the floor the next time, and Okumura bowls him over fro the apron. Other four in, técnicos miss dropkicks, whip, reversed, rudos stops short of each other, Maya tosses Delta into Vangelis Northern Light suplex, and Namajague takes care of Maya for his own.
2: Japanese pull of a wheelbarrow bulldog on Delta. Vangelis wheel kick takes out Diamante. Namajague armdrags Diamante to set up a dropkick to the back of the head. Maya comes in with his fists up. Ref warns him, and just sort of gets in the way for a moment, though Namajague does get to mock him behind his back. Namajague trips Maya down and stomps him low. Okumura tagged in and Maya fires back with chops. Whip, reversed, Okumura quebradora, Maya gets up and stumbles into another. One two NO. Okumura demands a faster count. Maya rolls and tags in Diamante in the meantime, but Diamante just shoves Okumura in the back. Okumura complains about the ref distracting me, then trips up Diamante. Vangelis backdrops Diamante. Maya in, dropkick miss, and Vangelis immediately stomps him in the head. Whip, flapjack, off both sets of ropes, and a dropkick to the chest. Vangelis poses. Japanese in again, double clothesline misses, Maya grab Namajague, Namajague switches, Okumura clothesline, Maya ducks out and Namajague takes it. Okumura grabs Maya, and Vangelis dropkicks him. Maya shoulderblocks Vangelis, ducks under his clothesline, and lays out Okumura with a tope. Other four in and right to heir finishes. Namajague is in great pain after the short armscissors
3: Namajague pull out his splits drop down move, but still gets armdragged by Maya. Maya headscissors him out of the ring, and Namajague checks his face as Maya poses. Delta runs up the ropes for an armdrag on Vangelis. Vangelis shows off his crane pose again, but this time Delta does his roll over the ropes headscissors after him. Diamante & Okumura chop fight is even. Diamante wins with a quebradora. Okumura flips him to the apron, Diamante comes back win with a springboard sunset flip, rudos calmly walk in and turn it over, then walk away, técnicos reset it, but that doesn't work. Other técnicos dropkick out the other rudos, and then double dropkick Okumura as he gets up. Técnicos all run – triple tope, Diamante way behind the other guys. Maya goes over the top after landing, then Vangelis is sort of pulled in instead. Namajague went over the barricade too on impact. Security hustles those guys back to the gates – Namajague's pulled by his arm by a security guy, which is just weird. Técnicos make it back in, rudos are counted out without even coming close and appear to all be out on the floor. That was still a quick count.
Judging from the replays, the idea might have been that all the rudos went over the rail so they couldn't make it back in time, because Okumura tried to throw himself over too.
Stellar Moments
La Llave: Tigre Blanco submits Arkangel with a kneeling tirabuzón. This is the best hold?
Lo Sensacional: Triton moonsault to the floor on Okumura
El Tecnico: Stuka plancha to the floor on Felino
Lo Dolorso: Felino superbomb on Stuka
Lo Espectacular: Místico springboard headscissors to the floor on Euforia
Match 5: Diamante Azul, Titán, Valiente vs Averno, Ephesto, Mephisto
Arena Mexico, 08/07/2012
Avernos
Winner: técnicos (2-1)
Match Time: 13:24
Rating: good
Notes: Diamante Azul has his CMLL Tag belt. He's still announced as DF champ. Titan wears his open mouth mask. Avernos enter together. Ref is Tirantes.
1: Titan and Averno start even, but Averno break a double wristlock to armdrag and toss Titan around a few times, then struts and brushes his hands about how easy it is for him. Titan comes back with his own hiptoses and a fireman's carry powerbomb. Averno grabs his back and runs up the rail to get away. Titan sneaks behind him, and Averno tells him to get lost. Azul and Mephisto in next and battling over arm holds. Ephesto, wearing an old Hijos del Averno sleeveless shirt (with Texano & Terrible), takes Valiente armdrags, but his buddies help him up and left Valiente into a Infernal Bomb as he runs for another. Valiente is pinned while the rudos keep the others out.
2: Rudos keep Azul in, working him over but pulling him up at two. Titan and Valiente protest, but Tirantes rushes them out. Rudos then triple team with no problem. Corner clotheslines by everyone. Rudos finally kicks Azul over for the tag. Titan storms it, but is attacked from behind anyway. Averno poses strongly after a flapjack, then chokes Titan on the ropes so he can yell at the fans. Multitasking! More choking, and throwing Titan into his partner's boots. Mephisto in for a flapjack and a kick to the head. Valiente tags in, but Ephesto surprises him with a kick and a DDT! That's very unlike Ephesto. Kick to the thigh sends Valiente out. Titan back in, held on the apron for a seated dropkick. This does leave Averno in alone, so Azul planchas him and German suplexes him for the sudden win. Averno is in so much pain.
3: Valiente backflips off the rope to armdrag Averno, then double springboards to headscissors him out. Valiente poses, but Ephesto kicks him down and poses himself. Titan gets Ephesto with a plancha, only for Mephisto to yank him down from the outside and stomp him down. Corner whip, corner clothesline, Titan gets his feet up on the next charge, Mephisto grabs them flips Titan to his shoulders, but Titan does a sort of inverted version of the usual armdrag headscissors combo. Booted dropkick on Ephesto, handwalk backflip headscissors to Mephisto, and pose. Titan challenges Averno to come in, then tags in Azul. Averno not worried this time. Averno has a plan! Averno crawls to kiss Azul's boots, then punches him in the knee! Averno wildly misses a corner charge, and Azul monkey flips him across the ring. Averno freaks out. Back the other way. Azul crawls all the way to the ramp, while Ephesto runs in for the giant armdrag and a couple quebradoras. Ephesto gets up, Azul slams him – and gets the three? How weird. Announcers are a bit surprise and amused.
Azul runs right into a two man powerbomb by the other two. He's done.
Titan dropkicks Averno out. Mephisto misses a senton, turns over, and Titan boosts off him to the top rope into a tope con giro on Averno. Announcers are greatly amused. Mephisto and Valiente left, Valiente layout front cracker, one two three! Averno makes faces at ringside. That's how this ends.
