Match 1: Diamante ©, Fuego, Sangre Azteca vs Hijo del Signo, Loco Max, Misterioso Jr. ©
Arena Coliseo, 04/15/2012

  1. rudos

  2. técnicos
  3. técnicos

Winner: técnicos (2-1)
Match Time: 15:02
Rating: eh
Notes: Referee is Bestia Negra.

1: Pairs are Diamante/Loco Max, Fuego/Signo, Sangre/Misterioso. JCR, in talking about Signo's pre-CMLL career, mentions he was a Revolutionary. Misterioso misses a corner charge on Sangre but pulls him down by his mask, and the rudos drop the técnicos. Beatdown goes for a while. Loco Max has switched to running the whole way on his low blow kick, rather than the goofy stop. Fuego is backed into the post by Signo and Misterioso, which leaves Loco alone. Sangre avoids his dropkick and monkey flips him. Just when it seems like we're getting all three momentum swings in one falls, Sangre tries to chop Misterioso, Misterioso full nelsons him, and Signo helps with the Infernal stretch. Diamante misses a plancha and Loco submits him.

2: Rudos hold down Sangre so Misterioso can untie his mask, then go after his legs. Fuego springboards flips on a whip, then sidesteps a Loco max dropkick which gets his partners instead. Diamante flies in to armdrag Loco Max, then stands in position to boost Fuego into a dropkick on Signo. This comes to a surprise first to Fuego (who's way late in running) and then to Signo, who goes out on the dropkick and is immediately waved back in by Fuego. Diamante's fisherman suplex feels new. Misterioso and Sangre come back in just long enough for Misterioso to run from Sangre all over again.

3: Diamante makes fun of Loco Max's height, which does not go well for him. He also tries a kip up back flip show off deal, which could use some work. Diamante gets the better of Loco otherwise. Sangre gets chopped around by both Signo and Misterioso, then makes a cold técnico comeback. Wheel kick never seem to connect sharply. Rudos grab Sangre from outside while he's fighting Loco, so técnicos knock Loco down in the corner to set up Sangre's low blow dropkick. Fuego gets in his usual run of offense against all the rudo until Loco suddenly back heel trips him and puts him in anaconda vice for the submission out of nowhere. Diamante springboard dropkicks Loco out and tope con giros him, but Loco kind of steps to the side and barely tries to catch Diamante. That's a bad combination, size wise, but effort was minimal there. Diamante seemed to shake it off, getting up just in time to catch Signo's tope. Sangre and Misterioso in, Misterioso tries a foul kick, Sangre blocks, Misterioso pulls his mask. Bestia Negra is slow to react, but does call the DQ.

Match 2: Máximo, Rey Cometa, Valiente © vs Euforia ©, Raziel, Virus
Arena Coliseo, 04/15/2012

  1. rudos

  2. técnicos

  3. tecnicos

Winner: técnicos (2-1)
Match Time: 14:30
Rating: good
Notes: Referee is Tiger Hispano.

1: Joined in mid Valiente/Virus hammerlock fight, a good enough place to pick it up. Valiente controls Virus right arm for a while, foiling Virus attempt to get free. Virus tries a cradle, Valiente turns it into a sunset flip, then kicks Virus in the head, and grabs that right arm again. He's focused. Virus goes for a leg hold, Valiente escapes to a double armbar and a cradle for two. Virus keeps Valiente away from the arm as they battle on the mat a bit longer, but Valiente does hold him in a reverse facelock for a bit. Virus gets free from that and decides it's time to tag. Rey Cometa & Euforia get their own long mat section, though not as long as the first two. Poor Raziel has to deal with Máximo, and is very uncomfortable even thinking about it. It's even worse when Maximo's hands are all over him. Máximo flying armdrag sends Raziel out. Euforia charges in, Máximo blocks everything, kiss – is blocked, Euforia blocks a clothesline, Euforica Special! Don't try to kiss this man!

Valiente dropkicks Euforia out. Virus in to clip him and dropkick Valiente in the head. Cometa flies in with a plancha, but Raziel pulls him down from the outside, Virus dropkicks Cometa in head. Tapatía/neckbreaker combo! Cometa is done.

En Busca de un Idolo

2: Rudo beatdown with tags. Cometa takes a fireman's flapjack from Euforia and a big double underhook backbreaker from Raziel. JCR mentions Raziel used to be Caligula! I didn't know they were acknowledging that now. Rudos take turns hammering Valiente with corner clotheslines, then all pose together. This gives time for Valiente to recover, and he takes out Euforia with a flipping flying armdrag. Máximo kisses Virus, Cometa headscissors Raziel out, Máximo planchas Virus, and Cometa dives onto Raziel, which is almost missed by the camera. Valiente's springboard plancha is caught by Euforia in set up for a martinete, but Valiente turns it around and drops him with the Valiente buster. Legs and arms hooks, three count.

3: Rey Cometa shows off versus Virus. Announcers talk about a vocal fan in a white shirt, which leads to a discussion of Gran Markus. Valiente back suplexes Euforia, only to get slow counted by Tiger Hispano. Raziel is again stuck in with Máximo, and is very unhappy about all the chants for a kiss. He just bails, and Virus shoves around Máximo instead. Máximo sneaks pins on Virus until he rolls thru a dropkick, takes Virus out with a running silla, and gets a surprise three count.

Euforia jumps in, but spears the post on a missed charge, and Valiente spears him with a huge tope. Valiente almost collected the camera man on that. Raziel manages to stop Máximo with a quebradora, and flips Cometa on a clothesline. Kick is caught, Cometa lifts him up and slams him, goes up top, and lands a 450 splash for the pin.

Raziel is out on the mat after the finish, and Máximo decides to take advantage. Raziel is very unhappy when he awakes.

Match 3: Felino, Mr. Niebla ©, Negro Casas vs Ángel de Oro, Blue Panther ©, Diamante Azul
Arena Coliseo, 04/15/2012

  1. rudos

  2. técnicos

  3. técnicos

Winner: técnicos (2-1)
Match Time: 7:06
Rating: eh
Notes: Referee is Maya. Zach is with the rudos.

1: Felino suspends Angel de Oro above him in a hold, and Mr. Niebla takes the opportunity to rub Oro's head into his backside. Oro is not happy. Pesta Negra soon start the beatdown. Negro hits Oro from the outside, then drags him to the outside to DDT him on the ramp repeatedly. Niebla steals someone's purse and smacks Panther with it. After some random brawling, rudos win rather easily.

2: rejoined with angel de Oro duck a double clothesline. Anther and Diamante attack the lesser rudos, and Oro dropkicks a posing Niebla over the ropes and out. Técnicos aren't very organized and get in each other's way. Niebla does get to do the spitting mecedora with the guy who actually does that move normally, though it doesn’t look as good as it did with Niebla.

3: Angel de Oro demands Negro, and they chop it out for a while before hitting the ropes. Casas escapes from a casita attempt, only to be dropkicked out while climbing the ropes. Felino clothesline Angel de Oro, or at least attempts to. Oro slowly rolls out. Felino gets in his fast dropkick on Panther for a two, then Panther gets in his faster fujiwara and Felino gives up fastest.

Niebla bumps Panther out, does his dance, spits and catches it. Diamante Azul hangs out on the top rope for a half a minute waiting for Niebla to finally turn around, and just planchas when he does. Diamante enziguri sends Niebla out, and Diamante safely planchas him off the apron. Negro and Angel de Oro back in. Both miss clothesline, Oro trips up Casas and casitas him, one two three.

Angel de Oro takes a bow and celebrates. Diamante Azul chases Zacarias around very slowly.
