Match 1: Triton vs Virus in a lightning match
Arena Mexico, 03/23/2012

Winner: Virus
Match Time: 5:58
Rating: okay
Notes: They're off seconds after we join in. Referee is Bestia Negra.

Chain wrestling to start, and so that goes Virus' way as expected. Triton does his well to escape from one hold into the next, and get sit back to a standoff on their feet. Triton evades off the ropes, hand headscissors Virus to the corner. Triton backs up, charges, waved by, up the ropes, and around into a top rope tornillo armdrag. Virus back into another corner, Triton flipped up – and dropped back down, not toe the apron or into any more. Virus immediately chops him down and sweeps him out with a dropkick. Virus back up, charges, and slides out after him. Triton charges, Virus tosses him to the apron, Triton kicks him away and lands the Asai moonsault. I wonder who will be the first to do an IWRG-like moonsault chest first onto the barricade. Triton doesn't have much room here, and hits the barricade with his back very loudly. Both are still pulling themselves up as the match reaches the 3 minute mark. Virus pulls Triton off the apron and gets in first. Triton springboard plancha in, off the ropes, 'rana, one two NO. Triton frustrated. Triton charges, casadora cradle, Triton stands up, Virus reverses it, and out into a – well, no, Triton kicks him away. Triton charges, Virus flips him to the apron, shot to the midsection, up top – 450 splash misses, Triton rolls thru, fixes his pants yet again, charges, and Virus trips him over the middle rope. Kicks to the back, Virus backs up, charges, Triton moves, and Virus is hung in the ropes instead. Triton kicks him in the back again and again, then jumps to the near ropes but slips on his springboard, and knocks Virus down from the mat instead. Triton hooks Virus, but Virus hooks the ropes. Crowd is on the técnicos. Inside cradle, virus reverses to a double armbar cradle, one two NO. Virus Gori special, Triton rolls free into a sunset flip one two NO. They're past five minutes. Triton whip, reversed, clothesline misses, Virus scoops Triton up and drops him with a side Michinoku Driver. Armbar, and Triton is done.

They show the clock – and it's longer than the show's been on the air, even though the match started after the show started. They cut out about twenty seconds.

Riano, Magadan, and Linares welcome us to the show.

Gran Alternativa Block B promo.

CMLL Cartela Sunday: Shocker vs Ultimo Guerrero.

Match 2: Estrellita ©, Goya Kong, Marcela vs Amapola ©, La Seductora, Tiffany
Arena Mexico, 03/23/2012

  1. técnicas

  2. técnicas

Winner: técnicas (2-0)
Match Time: 9:40
Rating: not good
Notes: Usual clipped entrances. Seductora is dressed like Lady Rabbit for whatever reason. Rudas attack técnicas before the whistle. Referee is Tiger Hispano.

1: Kicking and choking for a while. Crowd is amused by Goya being run into a Seductora top rope silla. Tiffany gives Marcela a faceslam, and Seductora is all confused about the move she thought she was supposed to add. Kicks and chokes for Estrellita. Estrellita gets in her own shots, but the rudas back her off. Magadan says hi to Milwaukee! Everyone's thrown by this, and Estrellita slowly ducks a double clothesline to dropkick Amapola. Revenge brawling doesn't last long, and Amapola traps Estrellita in the corner to get splashed by her partner by mistake. Amapola takes out Estrellita with her thru the ropes tope con giro, the other técnicas get the best of the other rudas when Marcela reverses a corner whip into a dropkick, and win the fall anyway. Amapola is quite angry when she returns.

2: Estrellita and Amapola chop fight is broken up by Estrellita asking Amapola to stop so she can dance. Estrellita still hasn't figured out that Amapola will just hit her when she does this, she's kind of slow. She does come back right with a clothesline, like always, so maybe it's a trade off. Estrellita gets lost Running the ropes, then walks to set up a bad headscissors. Better one off the middle rope. Amapola spears the post on a corner charge, and Estrellita gives her a horrible quebradora. Crowd boos. Tiffany stalls instead of facing Goya. It's a good call, she gets in nothing. Goya tries a dropkick in here, which does not clear the ground by much. Seductora and Marcela battle over kneelifts, then Marcela breaks the ruda with a pumphandle backbreaker. Springboard double knee drop looks a bit after this week. Tiffany kicks Marcela out of the ring, Goya does the same to Marcela, Marcela waits on the top rope, for the rudas to get it together and walk over in position to take her plancha. I'm beginning to think wrestling may be fake. Crowd doesn't care, because Goya gets to dive onto both of them. Captains in, Estrellita escapes the Devil's Wings, casadora into an inverted figure four, that's it. Straight falls. Amapola starts to complain, but then is just unhappy at the world.

Match 3: Mephisto, Último Guerrero, Volador Jr. © vs Marco Corleone, Prince Devitt ©, Rush
Arena Mexico, 03/23/2012

  1. rudos

  2. técnicos
  3. técnicos

Winner: técnicos (2-1)
Match Time: 10:52
Rating: good
Notes: Devitt has his belt. Volador wears his belt to the ring. Both he and Mephisto are wearing body armor, which seems like an unfair advantage. They do make them take it off before the match. Referee is Tirantes.

1: Ultimo Guerrero and Devitt start with chain wrestling, Devitt looking quick on his reversals. Ultimo Guerrero gets in a nice behind the back drop toe hold. They circle around and, out of nowhere, Volador springboard dropkicks Devitt right in the side of the face. Rudos on all the técnicos,. Volador just rests a foot on Devitt for the moment, hopefully checking to see if he broke his jaw or whatever. That was brutal. Rudos whip Devitt in the corner, and Volador takes him out with the running superkick. Marco battles back with punches on Mephisto but Volador jumping kicks him to the back, Mephisto lifts the legs – Super Devil’s Wings! Rush kicks at UG, but he's chopped to clam down. Corner clotheslines, trip, senton de la muerte, pin.

2: Mephisto throws Devitt back in. Volador spinebusters him, the others yank him on the apron, and dropkicks Devitt him to the floor. Volador takes out Marco & Rush with flying clotheslines. Mephisto fetches Devitt again, and the others hold him for Volador to slap. Corner clothesline, Volador sets up for a charge, but Devitt jumps of Mephisto’ back to dropkick him. Other técnicos in, Devitt out with a tope con giro onto Volador. Other técnicos turn it around in the ring, both landing flying moves for the pins. Crowd is anti-tecnicos, which is no big surprise with Marco and Rush involved.

3: Volador and Devitt to start, as soon as Volador gets done pointing at the crowd. He switches to pointing at Devitt, and then just leaves. Ultimo Guerrero in, Rush in. Rush dares UG to chop him, UG does twice, and Rush dropkick him. Punches, loud chop by Rush. Whip, reversed, UG over, Rush slips, hits the ropes, they both run, and Rush sneaks around UG to headbutt him in the midsection. Mephisto runs into the belly to belly suplex, and Rush kicks him too. Pose. Rush beats Mephisto with gut punches and slaps him in the face. Chop. Corner whip, Rush charges in, corner clothesline, superkick for good measure, and pose. Crowd doesn’t boo more for the pose because they're booing a lot all the time. Volador sneaks in, shoves Devitt off the apron, challenges him to come back in, and then leaves when he does. Devitt shoves Volador, but Tirantes gets in between. Marco and Ultimo in, Marco dancing for the crowd first. Ultimo kicks him. Whip, over, kicks, blocked, whip, reversed, Ultimo flipped to the apron, punch blocks, and Marco punches him off the apron. Marco grabs Ultimo by the head, yanks him right back up, and punches him off again. Marco and Mephisto go chest to chest, or chest to head. Marco hilariously waves to the crowd like he can't see anyone in front of him. Mephisto gets his attention via leg kicks. Whip, reversed, Mephisto sunset flip, Marco dance, Marco just walks away, Mephisto chops him and ducks Marco's punch. Repeat, repeat, Marco makes Mephisto flinch and knocks him out. Volador in, Marco tags in Devitt. Volador pretends he's not concerned and tries to get Marco to come back in. Crowd chants for Volador, and Volador waves them on. Volador off the ropes, over, slide out, and Devitt doesn't know what to do. Mephisto in, so Devitt chops him a bit. Whip, reversed, Volador trips up Devitt from outside. Mephisto adds a kick to the face. Whip, heads down too soon, Devitt kicks Volador in the head , Mephisto misses a clothesline, Devitt spins him around, shoves him into a Volador front facelock, and boots Volador down so he'd DDT his own partner. Camera has no idea how to catch it, but it's neat. Corner whip for Volador, reversed, Volador corner clothesline. Volador calling Devitt out to the center of the ring and getting distracted by the crowd. Devitt dropkick Volador down in the corner. Back up, charge, dropkick straight to the face. Volador out, Devitt urns, rudos cuts him off with boots. Rush in, dropkick misses on the first try, but lands on the second. Marco clothesline them both out, then tells Rush to go for it– tope con giro hits both rudos. Marco leaves to the apron, flaps runs – Aereo Italinao to the outside. Devitt and Volador back in. Crowd still behind Volador. Devitt clothesline miss, Volador frontcracker, calling for it, kick misses, Devitt spinning enziguiri, hooks him, Volador blocks, blocks, Devitt spins him around, inverted DT into a brainbuster. One two three.

Devitt challenges Volador “mano y mano”. Volador yells “VIVA MEXICO.” Volador accepts, putting his title on the line, and promises to demonstrate why he's better. Volador throws the microphone at Devitt and leaves, thought tecnicos chase them to the back.
