Match 1: La Braza & Pimpinela Escarlata vs Pasion Kristal & Yuriko
Arena Naucalpan, 02/23/2012
Winner: técnicos
Match Time: 11:22
Rating: bad
Notes: AAA exoticos, much like CMLL rudas, love the Madonna. La Braza appears to be the opposite of over. The opposite of Pimpinela. Ref is Tirantes, with no suspenders.
Kristal is offended by La Braza's exoticos behavior. I'm not sure how that works. Yuriko and Pimpi have a slap fight that brings the others in, and that leads to a beatdown. Braza is so bad at falling down on his own, I'm not really sure why they even try. When it's up to the rudos to slam him, it goes better. Announcers talking about people Pimpinela have beat for their hair before, just before the exoticos botch a boost spot. Pimpinela stars a bump driven comeback. They do the Porky splash spot, with Pimpi splashing until finally Braza gets out of the way for his own. That's a two count. That really needed to be three. This does lead into a Pimpinela focused armdrag sequence, which is good because he's the only seemingly competent person in this match today. Rebound armdrag on both rudas leads into Pimpi getting into Tirantes face again. Is Tirantes evil again? Pimpi sneaks in a very angry kiss. Braza sequence includes him very slowly climbing the ropes for a headscissors armdrag spot, requiring the rudos to stand there and do nothing. He gets a kiss on Tirantes too. Yuriko and Braza mess something up, and a Kristal missile dropkick doesn’t seem quite right – he knows, looks around to make it clear, then goes to cover. Pimpi puts break sit up and puts on a hold on Cristal. Yuriko is supposed to come in to break it up, but takes a while. Pimpi just gives up on the hold and gets going when Cristal gets there. Walking the ropes armdrag on Yuriko. Braza flips Pimpinela into a flipping pescado on Yuriko, but Pimpinela goes down grabbing his leg. Pasion tries a plancha, only gets her partner. I'm not even sure if that was plan. Brazo does the bowling ball tope con giro dive, only really gets Pimpi (and kicks him in the head.) Yuriko back in, top rope con giro, kind of splitting everyone. This match is not over, or the crowd is just much quieter than ay time they've been here before. Yuriko and Braza back in, Yuriko tries a sunset flip, sit, two count. Yuriko goes out, and Braza is doing another dive spot, a plancha of the apron. Pimpinela missile dropkick on Cristal for two. Cristal fireman's drop, top rope moonsault misses everything. Pimpinela clothesline Yuriko, Yuriko about falls on her head, Pimpi 'rana one two three.
Match 2: Daga, Fenix, Gran Apache vs Oficial 911, Oficial AK47, Oficial Fierro
Arena Naucalpan, 02/23/2012
Winner: rudos
Match Time: 15:55
Rating: good
Notes: Oficials get an entrance! Fenix's music has like three different beginnings. Pepe Casas is ref.
Apache and 911 start on the mat. Apache does a little better for himself, though both get extended leg locks. They switch to quick trips for zero count and faceoff. Fenix and AK-47 are next, though only one flips in. Chop fight becomes forearms fight becomes leg kick fight. Fenix sneaks in a heel kick to take it. Fenix off the ropes, flipping over, off the ropes again, back spin headscissors. Fenix charges again, and runs right into a belly to belly suplex, sending him into the buckles on the fly. That was a bit crazy. AK-47 charges, Fenix is up and fine enough to flip him to the apron, AK-47 slaps him away and slowly climbs up, Fenix lands the cartwheel flipping kick, and the running jumping kick to the face. AK-47 falls out, and Fenix goes thru the ropes for a tope into an armdrag Fenix races back into do a rolling pose. Daga and Fierro. Chops, Daga headlocks shot off, under, under a clothesline, whip for Fierro, and a rolling clothesline to knocks him down. Corner whip, reversed, Daga stops short, leaps and spins over Fierro's back, Fierro clotheslined blocked, and Daga starts with a reverse backbreaker and ends with an implant DDT. Daga off the ropes, sliding dropkick sends Fierro out, then a fake dive on the ropes. Gran Apache and 911 in and criss crossing the ropes. Apache holds up and hiptoss 911 around. Springboard armdrag, 911 out, Apache fakes he dive too. Ak-47 stops that from happening any more with a couple kicks. Corner whip, Fenix flips his partner to safety, AK-47 runs in but misses a dropkick. Daga grabs him in a front facelock, cuts his throat, waits – and the rest of the Oficials break it up. Técnicos cleared off the apron. Wheelbarrow frontcracker for Fenix. AK-47 fixes his hair. Corner whip for Daga, corner clothesline, corner back elbow, AK-47 low blow kick. A regular Tuareg, these guys. Oficuals lift him up, and AK-47 adds a low blow missile dropkick. He's a one man CMLL tercera. Apache in and slapping around. Corner charge, whipped out to a spinebuster, and held for a kick. Corner whip again, 911 misses the charge, Apache ducks Fierro and slaps down AK-47. Fenix in with a springboard dropkick to send Fenix out – running fosbery flop dive. Daga in, but can’t get AK-47 down with a shoulderblock. Daga off the ropes again, shoulderblocks still can't get him. Oficial off the ropes, right into a Daga kick. Daga waiting for AK-47 to get up, clothesline blocked, sunset flip, AK-47 roll thru dropkick misses, Daga runs him over with a kick to the chest. Daga grabs AK-47, suplex is blocked, AK-47 lifts him up, Michinoku Driver. One two Fenix breaks it up. Fenix chops AK-47 in the corner for a while. Corner whip, reversed, Charge in, Fenix puts a AK-47 on the top, kicks him, and pulls him out for an inverted crucifix powerbomb. Running knee to the head, but Fierro breaks it up. Slap. Whip, flapjack, off the ropes, dropkick to the side. Fierro points up. Whip, reversed, Fierro sneaks in a swinging neckbreaker. Gori stretch – Gori Bomb! Fierro covers, but Apache stops the count and breaks it up. Slaps to the head. Apache pulls Fierro – into an Espectrina? 911's turn to break it up. Chop. Corner whip, reversed, Apache charges in, 911 gets a boot up, 911 out, but caught into a backslide for two. 911 big kick misses, 911 inside cradle reverse into a double armbar. AK-47 completes the cycle by breaking that up. Half crab by him, Daga breaks it up with a forearm – to the arm, maybe? Not much contact on that. Daga stands AK-47 up for some punches to the face. Corner whip, reversed, Daga moves, AK-47 hits the corner, then Daga hits the back of AK-47's head with a kick. Daga signs for a forearm, backs up, charge, AK-5 flips him to the apron, forearm from there. Fierro on the apron after him, Daga kicks away his clothesline, Fierro spins (and puts both hands behind his head) and Daga German suplexes him on the apron. Ouch. AK-47 takes a look, no idea Fenix is in behind him. Fenix clothesline misses but he rolls anyway. Ak-47 kicked into and thru the ropes. Fenix waits for Daga to wrangle the Oficials towards the ropes for no reason. Fenix runs up the ropes, springboard moonsault tornillo to the floor! Back inside, 911 misses charge, Apache fireman's slams him, goes all the way up – senton con giro. One two thre-NO. Both guys look at each other. 911 eventually misses a clothesline but still lost. Apache just starts slapping 911 while talking it over with him. Apache to the ropes, 911 catches him by surprise with a dropkick then reaches to slap him again. It doesn’t hit, but Apache scoopsand slams 911 anyway. senton, and back up again. Same plan for Apache? No, 911 up with him – top rope armdrag, Apache thrown to the center of the ring. One two NO. Not sure where everyone else is, or when they will be coming back. 911 misses a clothesline and flips in the process, Fierro tries to get a shot in front to the outside but Apache slaps him away. 911 now behind Apache, backcracker, one two three.
Match 3: Cuervo & Ozz © vs Chessman & Último Gladiador for the AJPW Tag Team Championship
Arena Naucalpan, 02/23/2012
Winner: Dark Family
Match Time: 11:13
Rating: ok
Notes: remember how these two used to be partners and then Chessman got that promotion and Decnnis got his spot? No, no one remembers that. Ozz & Cuervo wear both sets of belts to the ring. Ozz is talking to the camera lot but we can't actually hear him. Ozz & Chessman tentatively shake hands. Piero is ref.
Cuervo and UG start rolling on the mat to no long advantage. Cuervo uses a drop toe hold to get a kneebar. Announcers namedropping the Yakuza. UG's turn to put on a match ending submission on Cuervo that I don’t think it’s actually going to end the match 90 seconds in. Cuervo gets an ankle lock. Jesus lists the Maniacos as Ultimo Gladiador and Silver king, which makes me wonder why Silver isn't here and whatever append to Decnnis. Standoff, handshake, tags. Ozz flips in, so Chessman has to springboard in. First back and forth gets nowhere. Long circle. Jesus' wikipedia reading has netted us two Tiffany mentions on this show. Not really meaningful, he'll say anything on that page. Ozz & Chessman reach another stalemate by just doing moves and getting back up from there. Shoves, slaps, both look at each other corner and get dropkick by the opposition. Cuervo drops Gladiador with a DDT, gets zero count. Gladiador clothesline misses, Cuervo DDT again. Cuervo poses, then looks, then covers for zero. Maybe new plan? Whip, reversed, UG trips Cuervo onto the ropes, 619, Cuervo way covering up there. Corner whip, reversed, UG runs around the rope and rolls away. Cuervo misses a clothesline, UG out, Cuervo out after him, UG fakes going back in, Cuervo actually goes back in, and Chessman kicks him as he comes thru. Cuervo was quite silly there. Chops and kicks. Whip, reversed, clothesline misses, back elbow miss, Chessman back up with a superkick to send Cuervo to the ropes. Chessman pose. Whip, Cuero flips out, shoulderblocks to set up more evasion, Chessman rolls back into a dropkick. Cuervo going up top, flying splash meets knees. Chessman really wants to cover Cuervo, but Cuervo keeps on rolling way from him. Ozz dropkicks Chessman in the back of the head anyway, and Gladiador drops Ozz with a frontcracker. UG flips out of a back suplex, push Ozz in the corner, backs up, charges, flipped to the apron, Ozz blocks his kick and grabs him – suplex in. Ozz off the ropes – Chessman trips him up. UG off the ropes, Cuervo kicks him from behind, and UG rolls out. Cuervo up and waving. Chessman in, no hurry. Face off. Chessman clothesline blocked, Cuervo kick, reverse stunner, one two UG walks over Cuervo to break it up. UG sets up Cuervo on the top rope, forearms to the face, back superplex, one two Ozz breaks it up. Ozz with a ort of G2 sleep, then pumphandle - well, eh can't get it, and then Chessman dropkicks it up anyway. Cuervo back in but slapped. Whip, and Cuervo whipped into a tope on UG. UG is heading up the stage as Chessman kicks Ozz down. Sliding dropkicks ends Cuervo over the rail and into the crowd. Chessman fireman's drop Ozz and climbs up – springboard plancha into the crowd. Announcers do not even react at all those move, which is a shame. Chessman climbs over the rail, but Ozz knocks him back over with the Ozz tornillo. Hey, it's Cyborg doing crowd control. Ozz wanders over on the other side of the entrance, so he can be hit by an Ultimo Gladiador moonsault balcony dive. UG bringing Ozz back in. Northern lights suplex, one two NO. Cuervo holds Chessman in the crowd. UG piledriver, but he doesn’t bother with a pin. Top rope springboard legdrop, but Ozz moves. Of course, he just got hit by a piledriver, nothing big. Pumphandle cradle piledriver – that's the Ozz Driver – one two three. Announcers do react big to the finish.
Doctors check on Ultimo Gladiador after taking the piledriver, which was apparently much more devastating the one Ozz took 10 seconds earlier. Stretcher for him.
Rey de Reyes hype video.
Match 4: Héctor Garza vs Heavy Metal, Toscano, Joe Lider in a AAA's Rey de Reyes Tournament match and in a tournament semifinal match
Arena Naucalpan, 02/23/2012
Joe Lider casita Heavy Metal (5:55)
Toscano casadora bridge Joe Lider (7:39)
DQ Toscano [run-in] (9:17)
Winner: Hector Garza
Match Time: 9:17
Rating: good
Notes: Toscano enters first. He is using Come With Me by P. Diddy as music. Total rudo move. Heavy Metal is very careful walking thru the entrance. His entourage is missing. Metal is given a trophy to celebrate 25 years of wrestling, and his father is there to help present it. Metal accepts the trophy, has a moment with Antonio Pena's urn, hugs his father, hands off his glasses and his extra t-shirt, and runs into chop it out with Toscano. Garza and Lider dropkick the both of them. Ring announcement is still going. Tirantes is ref.
Crowd loudest so far for these two in, for whatever reason. Forearms/chops lead to Running the ropes leads to Hector putting up the stop sign to take off his pants. Lider makes Garza pick it up and kicks it himself. Metal seems to approve. Lider of the ropes into a Garza armdrag, Garza armdrag, kick to the face. Toscano in and attacking Garza with punches and stomps. Mocking the Garza pose! Whip, Toscano slipping over Garza’s back, but Garza puts up the stop sign again. Shirt off. Crowd shot. Toscano clotheslines Garza, then strips himself. Garza kicks him while he's doing that. Chops, turned around back and forth. Garza clothesline misses, Toscano back with a headscissors. Metal in, but Toscano ready for him and sidestepping ping a dropkick. Chops in the corner. Corner whip, Toscano charges in, no one home, Metal pulls him out of the corner and elbow drops him. Slap to the chest. Whip, reversed, Metal slide under, Metal armdrag, swerved into the ropes behind Toscano's back, spinning him around for a quebradorda con giro, one and Lider breaks it up. This is an elimination match, I'm mostly sure, so this makes no sense as always. I'm just chalking it up to “Joe Lider is a goofball.” Announcers think Nayzi is Metal's cousin. I'm not sure, I'm just glad she's not here. Lider gives Metal a side backbreaker and covers for two. And stops covering at two. Corner whip, reverses, Metal charges into a back elbow, Metal charges into a into a drop toe hold. Odd time crowd shot. Oh, they're going to break.
Lider running kick to Metal's face, one – Garza stops the counts and breaks up the pin. Maybe this isn’t elimination? It probably is, and they’re probably idiots, because they do this every single year. Garza powerbombs Lider, Toscano breaks it up. Toscano forearms Garza, whip, drop toe hold, walking elbow drop, crossface. Metal's turn to leisurely breaks something up. Toscano just lets go, I guess, there's some odd camera choices here. Metal and Toscano chop it out, but Metal gets in the Heavy Punch and Toscano is shook. Press slam? Kind of. Casita – no, Lider breaks it up. Kick to Toscano’s head too. Garza in, clothesline misses, Lider yells 187 before the hammerlock backcracker (which Jesus calls a lungblower before he remembers where the lungs are located.) Lider with a casita on Metal one two three. IT IS ELIMINATION. YOU ALL ARE MORONS.
Toscano misses a misses dropkick on Lider, and Garza runs in kicks him. Lider missile dropkicks Garza in turn. Corner whip for Lider, Garza charges in, Lider flips him the apron and forearms him off. Toscano up, Lider catches his clothesline, lifts Toscano up, walks him into the turnbuckle, and drops him with a Death Valley Driver. Lider goes to the ropes, pointing the the whole way, but Garza yanks Toscano out of the way and punches Lider on the ropes. Superplex, top rope variety. Garza and Lider lands far away, for some reason, and Garza has to climb a long way to cover, one two NO. Garza going up for a moonsault, but Toscano trips him up. Toscano waits before Lider, waiting for him to get up, waits, waists, clothesline misses after all that, casadora back bridge, one two three. That's his move!
Toscano taunts the crowd. Garza waiting for him. Clothesline – caught into a crucifix, Garza fights it, goes down one two NO. Garza lands on top for one. Garza sunset flip, Toscano rolls thru and dropkick Garza in the face one...two...no. Tirantes decides to slow count now? I guess he doesn't really much care if Lider is out and he's sticking up for the Socidedad, but he just counted a pin normal. Toscano and Tirantes ague and shove, Garza reverse roll up, one two NO. Normal count there. Both up, Toscano wave by, back with a casadora, but turns into a wheelbarrow suplex. Garza turns Toscano around, grabs the top rope, walks steps up on the middle - moonsault into a moonsault? Hmmm one two – Tirantes has to stop counting because Argos is a few seconds late with a springboard legdrop. Ah, Argos. Texano in to help stomp, but Tirantes gets in the middle long enough to raise Garza's arms.
Garza actually makes his own comeback on Argos, because he's Argos, and the numbers have barely caught up to him before they're playing the Perros del Mal music. No Perros though. Texano gets the microphone instead. Texano introduces El Consejo as they hold Garza. Texano says Perro made the decision for him, so Garza has to pay the sacrifice. Rope punch! Whip with the rope! Play Toscano's music. Consejo corner Tirantes but he gets away. How sad. I should note Argos has a new evil mask. It's been noted.
Joaquin Roldan comes to the ring. He mentions the surprise luchador listed in the main event. Joaquin says it's a great luchador who started in AAA, and he's happy to bring him back – Juventud Guerrera. Mexican Powers music, huh. Juvi is so fired, he drops his water bottle. Juvi's wearing a jacket right out of the 80s. “Finalmente, Juventued al regreso a casa!” Yea, it's Juvi. He's out of breath from walking down those stairs. Juvi promises to help Joaquin fight against all the invaders, and thanks for bringing him back, but says Konnan will always be again him. AAA is always in his heart, Yo Soy AAA. “Triple A! Triple A!” This does not work. Konnan and Chessman are out to rebutt, though Konnan has to yell at the Penas first. They can't get in the ring because Juvi is too busy yelling at them . Chessman does clear a path. Piero's in the ring too. So is Mascara Año 2000 Jr.? Did we miss entrances for this match? Konnan says he's not in a fight vs Juvi, Juvi's in a fight versus the whole Legion, but Juvi better recognize Konnan's his Papi, or there will be consequences. Joaquin brings this up – either Konnan pays his fine, or he lives the ring. Konnan says he wouldn't being that kind of money to a place like this, that's crazy. He'll have his money in Toluca. Joaquin says no money, don't stay. Konnan swears at him, hits the catchphrase, and leaves. Mascara's music plays, but he's already in. So let's move on to...
Match 5: Cibernético vs el Hijo del Perro Aguayo, Máscara Año 2000 Jr., Juventud Guerrera in a AAA's Rey de Reyes Tournament match and in a tournament semifinal match
Arena Naucalpan, 02/23/2012
Juvi inside cradle Mascara Año 2000 (5:38)
CO Juvi? (7:05)
Perro Aguayo low blow Cibernético (7:45)
Winner: Perro Aguayo Jr.
Match Time: 7:45
Rating: eh
Notes: No Junior. Perro Aguayo is out next. Not sure where he was a match ago. He makes friends with all the Perro fans. Cibernético has less trouble with the steps than I thought he might.
Juvi and Mascara start. Cut to the crowd. Cibernético and Perro in. Perro leaves. Perro back in. Perro running around the ring, and slapping Mascara for a tag. Mascara in. Any time. Lockup, Cibernético backed into the corner. Lockup, Cibernético waistlock, armdrag, Mascara complains about his mask being pulled. Lockup, Mascara waistlock, snap mare, kick to the back by Mascara. Perro taunting Cibernético, I think. Cibernético off the ropes, under a clothesline, back to a shoulderblock. Mascara rolls away as Cibernético tries to break him. Cibernético backs up, and Juvi tags himself in. Máscara slaps, and a big boot to the face. Whip, head down too soon, Juvi kicks Mascara, chops, whip, reverse, Juvi under – no Máscara grabs him and powerbombs him. Crowd seems to root for him. Máscara leaves – and then just comes back in. Great. Whip, reversed, sunset flip, Juvi rolls thru, Mascara puts his hands up, Máscara puts Mascara’s hands downs, and kicks him in the face. Cover, one two Perro tries to break it up, Juvi moves, Juvi still jumps on Juvi and Crazy punches him. Stomps. Perro silly walks around to get a reaction, and it works. Perro charges, Juvi armdrags him back and forth and wheel kicks him. Perro rolls out. Cibernético in, big boot for Juvi to sends him to the apron. Máscara back elbows Cibernético. Juvi planchas Mascara, Perro in and grabbing Juvi, Mascara dropkick gets Perro by mistake. Juvi’s headscissors ends Marco thru the ropes and out. All three locate do on the same side, Juvi turns – tope just gets there. Worked, though not the most impressive bit. Máscara rolls in, Juvi goes up top. Crowd roars for Marcela. Juvi falling splash, one two No. Máscara slaps Juvi, powerbomb into the corner. Mascara has the ability to make big moves look unimpressive. It's a gift. Máscara slaps Juvi a few more times. Casually backing up, charging right into a kick. Juvi off the middle rope, plancha caught, Mascara spins him around into a side slam. Mascara pointing, and yelling to someone – Cibernético gets on the apron and gives Mascara a stunner, Juvi inside cradle, one two three count by Piero, fast count to eliminate him. Replay of that.
Chessman back out, and slapping Juvi. Juvi was brawling with Mascara outside or no particular reason, but Chessman gives him much more reason to fight. Into the crowd they go, all Chessman's way. They go into the back, where Texano happens to be standing, and both Chessman and Toscano stomp down Juvi. Juvi uses a plastic chair. Perro is choking Cibernético in the ring in the meantime – split screen is amazing. The rest of El Consejo help stomp Juvi, until Ozz, Cuervo, Fenix, Joe Lider and Daga attack the rudos and run them off. Toscano gets trapped for a second but eventually gets away. I guess Juvi is done?
In the ring, Cibernético ducks a couple clotheslines and speared Perro. Garra Cibernética, two hand cover, one two Garza pulls out Piero. Cibernético looks at him, as does Piero. Chessman is back out at the ring, and Cibernético looks at him for a bit. Garza tries sliding in a small piece of wood, but Cibernético gets it – shot to Perro, shot to Chessman as he comes in. Perro recovers quick, because he kicks Cibernético low, one two three.
El Consejo come back in the ring to attack both Perros. 4 on 2 works in their favor. Chessman runs into help and makes it a close battle, but Consejo stops him too. Some garbage being thrown in, Argos looks like he gets soaked I here. Rudos are all laid out. Announcers talking about the 3 vs 3 match. Team AAA runs out for the save, with Consejo fighting with them for a while. AAA guys goes after Perros and Chessman too, so it's just a three way war for a while. Consejo gets sent out, and Daga gets sent into a tope con giro on everyone. Fenix tornillos people. Announcers make note of it.
Clip to Texano – he wants a match at Rey de Reyes to prove El Consejo is back. Texano brings up the AAA website, and Toscano breaks out his Anonymous mask.
Show ends with Marisela talks about her meeting with El Consejo last week – they'll have a match at Rey de Reyes in a trios match vs Wagner, but if they lose, they're gone.
