Match 1: Enrique Vera Jr. & Soberano Jr. vs Bobby Zavala & Disturbio
Arena Coliseo, 01/22/2012

  1. rudos

  2. técnicos
  3. rudos

Winner: rudos (2-1)
Match Time: 13:34
Rating: eh
Notes: Referee is Tiger Hispano. Arena Coliseo looks fuller for the opener than it has been for most shows last year – there's actually a lot of people on the upper level! They are lighting the crowd. The only noticeable change are new lights lining the balcony opposite the camera, probably replacing the old strobe ones. They might have fixed the lights behind the ads too, because they seem much brighter than before. Nothing big like changing the entrance again.

1: Pairs are Soberano/Disturbio and Zavala/Vera. Both are basic openings, the second one more than the first. Zavala appears to be leading Vera thru spots at times. They got for seconds, Soberano looking good on a flying armdrag. Zavala dropkick him out, Vera planchas him. Vera flips out of a hiptoss, armdrag Zavala, dropkicks him out, and thankfully Disturbio trips him up before the dive. He springboard elbow drops back in on Vera, but Soberano gets him with a flying headscissors. Zavala back in – Soberano trips him up and misses a clothesline and uses a rebound headscissors to send Zavala out. Zavala swings around waiting for Soberano to turn up – so double jump dive meets Zavala kick. Vera looks at that, then charges Disturbio for behind the back face first powerbomb. Liontamer style crab finishes it. Soberano can't get up in 20, much less make it in.

2: Beatdown includes Disturbio leaping off Zavala's back for a double knee strike on Enrique in the corner. Soberano has some timing problems on the next bit, and doesn't take Disturbio's spear well. Vera is stomped before he can get back in. Rudos stomp Soberano aimlessly for a moment. They're clearly setting up for the comeback, but something must’ve not gone right. Soberano kips up and flips out over Zavala’s corner charge, both Soberano and Disturbio duck Zavala's back elbow, and the rudos kick down Soberano. Enrique up top, flying armdrag for Zavala, Disturbio kicks him, Disturbio turns to Soberano, and Soberano is still kneeling on the mat. Something's wrong there. Disturbio hesitates, then kicks him. He helps Zavala up, whips him for no apparent reason, and Soberano trips up Zavala into the ropes. Soberano lands his guillotine moonsault on Zavala and Enrique finishes Disturbio to tie it up, though it takes some effort to get the hold on.

3: Enrique pulls of some fancy rope tricks with Disturbio. It doesn't seem like what his character should be doing, but he does them well here. Soberano is very flipping with Zavala, sending him out with a rebound armdrag. Disturbio gets in a shot from the outside, Vera planchas him (that seems to happen a lot this match), everyone runs chaotically, rudos gets the best of it. Tigre Hispano, being Tigre Hispano, counts Vera down for three while Zavala has him up in the air, picking him up for his submission. Oh well.

Match 2: Hijo del Fantasma ©, Metro, Stuka Jr. vs Euforia, Pólvora ©, Vangelis
Arena Coliseo, 01/22/2012

Winner: técnicos (2-1)
Match Time: 12:03
Rating: ok
Notes: Ref is Maya. Stuka is wearing a black sleeveless hoodie (? - if you want a hood, why wouldn't you want sleeves?) and seems more taped up than usual. Both his elbows are well padded.

1: Fantasma and Euforia start slowly on the mat. Pólvora attempts to screw with Metro, patting him on the cheek. This seems unwise! Shoving match goes Metro's way. Action speeds up with these two (!), Metro almost sliding his way out of the ring before cracking Pólvora with a European uppercut. I'm sure that is the gif, but it won't capture the loud snap on contact. Vangelis rushes in to knock Metro down, but that wont' work. Metro spins to his feet, Vangelis accidentally kicks Pólvora, and Metro bodyscissors armdrags him out. Metro goes for a dive, Euforia pulls him down by his mask. Weird edit here – Metro sets up for his superkick to Euforia, cut to Stuka Asai moonsaulting Euforia who's already on the floor. Metro looks as confused as I am. Other técnicos wrap it up.

2: Stuka escapes Euforia until Euforia just dumps him back to his corner. Fantasma swing kicks Euforia and hops in himself, Stuka leaving without actually getting in any offense. Fantasma headscissors Euforia out, but Vangelis drops him with a wheel kick. Vangelis misses the corner charge, and Fantasma gives him a low height long distance monkey flip. Fantasma whips Vangelis to the rudo corner, and Vangelis puts him on top for the rudos to all beat. Fantasma's hung on the outside of the ring for a bit, técnicos rush over to argue, and the rudos get the better of them. Rudos are lady about beating up metro, so Metro turns it around on Pólvora for a moment. Metro is whipped whip, Vangelis gives him a Northern lights suplex, and Metro looked like he had no idea what was occurring there. Vangelis did a lot of the work. Fantasma doesn't want to come in, and holds Euforia on the ropes for a bit. Rudos get a hold of him, and Pólvora tells his partner to get rid of Stuka while he walks around with Fantasma on his shoulder. Pólvora Drive, they're done.

3: Rudos take away Stuka's hoodie. So mean! Boots for him. Corner clotheslines for Metro. Pólvora dropkicks him out. Fantasma appears for a foul on a kick, does not get it. Double shoulderblock sends him rolling out. Stuka escapes a double chop, but the rudos hold up before hitting Euforia. Técnicos dropkick the out anyway. Triple tope, all at different times, but all going the same way. It’s a different visual effect than all at the same time. Referee Maya counters everyone out, but Stuka and Euforia make it back in. Euforia 'rana (?!) is reversed into a Stuka powerbomb. Stuka tries to rally the crowd. Stuka suplex reverses into a Euforia small package, one two NO. Stuka clothesline blocked, Euforia grabs the other arm Euforica Special, Stuka gives.

Metro in, Euforia kicks him, but misses the corner charge. Metro picks him up, walks him to the center of the ring, and German suplexs him there. Three count.

Vangelis in, ducking Metro and spearing him on the next pass. Vangelis makes a derisive gesture to the fans cheering for Metro. Whip, reversed, Metro Super armdrag. Vangelis out, Metro runs – another tope, crushing poor Vangelis. Fantasma and Pólvora left, and Fantasma takes off his shirt. Pólvora ducks a clothesline, kick to the midsection, cut the throat, walking Pólvora Driver – no, Fantasma slip out, backcracker. One two three.

Match 3: Blue Panther, Brazo de Plata, La Máscara, Marco Corleone © vs Kraneo, Morphosis, Olímpico, Rey Bucanero ©
Arena Coliseo, 01/22/2012

  2. técnicos
  3. técnicos

Winner: técnicos (2-1)
Match Time: 10:28
Rating: ok
Notes: Referee is Tigre Hispano.

1: Blue Panther and Olímpico are going well until the badly mistimed armdrag spot. Panther puts on a toe hold, and it's a race to see which rudo breaks it up first. I think Morphosis got it by a sliver over Kraneo, but all three were there. Olímpico gets a back mounted neck crank on Panther, which seems to be happening a lot. Rowdy técnico fans chant for Porky. Panther sunset flip reversals Olímpico into a Máscara plancha. Poor Mascara 'rana leads to all the rudos rushing into break it up. Everyone but Morphosis leaves, so this won't end well. Sure enough Mascara is headscissoring and quebradora-ing Morphosis. Porky adds a plancha. Rudos storm the ring again, and this time decide to stick with a beatdown. Bucanero takes Marco outside. Mije helps on Mascara. Those rudo mascots really do not like La Mascara. Rudo beatdown is a lot of big boots. Morphosis explains the swinging gate Bomb to Bucanero so they can finish Mascara with it. Tormenta Bucanero sets up Mije's big splash on Marco. Olímpico entertains himself by causing Porky to fall on front row people

2: Rudos still in control. Everyone holds Mascara up (barely off the ground) and kicks him a bit. Morphosis corner clotheslines Porky, but Porky just doesn't sell it, sets Morphosis in the corner, and Olímpico gets his own partner. Other rudos knock Porky down, but Marco lands on the springboard reverse plancha on them both. Porky, Kraneo and Bucanero are lined up together on the mat. Porky splashes them, then Mascara top rope splashes them, Marco knocks Morphosis off the apron, and the técnicos pile on for the pin. Marco spins Mije around and tossed him on the pile. Replays show Mije almost got killed when the rudos fell backwards from Marco's plancha.

3: Seems joined in progress. Panther gets a hold on Morphosis, Olímpico breaks it up, Panther pulls of the multiple kips up, faceslams, Morphosis, and allows Olímpico to throw himself out of the ring. Quick cut to Porky and Kraneo in. Kraneo knocks Porky down, but Porky gets back up and armdrags him. Usually Porky spots. Mascara is too fast for Morphosis, headscissors him out, then stripping off his shift before going even with Olímpico. Mascara eventually gets him with a quebradora, both he and Panther get cradles on Olímpico and Morphosis, and it doesn’t seem like the refs ever count. Rudos kick out anyway. Técnicos reverse whips into cradles again, rudos kick out at two. Mascara headscissors Olímpico out and superkicks Morphosis the same way. Panther runs, and Máscara flips him into a pescado on Morphosis. Tope on Olímpico himself. Other four in, técnicos sent into each other, but Marco leaps over Porky, and jump off the top for the springboard clothesline on Bucanero. Porky knocks down Kraneo, grabs Mije, and falls on top for the pin.
