Match 1: Metálico, Molotov, Starman vs Bronco, Inquisidor, Puma King ©
Arena Mexico, 01/03/2012

  2. rudos
  3. tecnicos

Winner: tecnicos
Match Time: 14:40
Rating: eh
Notes: Ref is Tiger Hispano.

1: Pairs are Molotov/Inquisidor, Starman/Puma, Metálico/Bronco.

It takes a minute before they can work “STAAAAARMAN” in. Middle matchup is by the best. Bronco is in a mood to hit Metálico very hard, which pleases the rudo fans. Metálico still send shim out with a single headscissors, leading to everyone sending everyone else out. Puma lips on the a springboard dropkick and kicks the space in front of Molotov’s shins, then barely gets up for enough on a torito for Starman to block it and powerbomb him. At least it was a block powerbomb. We find out Puma is the captain in the usual way, the fall just suddenly ending.

2: Molotov destroys Inquisidor for a while. Inquisidor is fine taking moves, especially compared to usual offensive travails. Puma and Starman evade until Puma just evades out of the ring and Starman drops on him fro the apron with a headscissors. Metal gets Bronco out with a flipping armdrag, but the Asai is stopped via ankle grab, and the rudos start rolling from there. Puma jumps into to land a frontcracker on Starman, Inquisidor knocks down Molotov, then picks him back up to drop him three inches closer to the corner. Bronco top rope splash on both, that's three.

3: This ring girl also has trouble holding the card the right way. Someone probably should check before they walk out to the ring. Or are we holding ad side first on purpose now? Rudos have been attacking the técnicos between falls. Low blow dropkick #1. Low blow dropkick #2. Puma and Tiger continue their lack of timing with Puma's counter dropkick to Starman's roll all messed up. Rudos land one double chop on Molotov. They go for a second, Molotov kicks his legs, rudos grab them and powerbomb him. That worked well. Rudos promptly blow the next double chop. Técnicos run into armdrags and headscissors to send them out. Starman tope con giro, Metálico – just doesn’t dive, because Inquisidor is off on the other side to the ring. That was odd. Metálico submits Inquisidor while Molotov manages a tall 'rana, and that's the match.

Match 2: Diamante, Dragon Lee, Pegasso vs Cancerbero, Loco Max, Raziel ©
Arena Mexico, 01/03/2012

  3. rudos

Winner: rudos (2-1)
Match Time: 12:51
Rating: bleh
Notes: Ref is Bestia Negra.

1: Pairs are Dragon Lee/Raziel, Diamante/Cancerbero, and Pegasso/Loco Max in Puebla warfare. Raziel works hard to keep Dragon Lee even, though Dragon Lee escaping from an armbar via headscissors is pretty neat. Diamante is wearing a Porra Tepito shirt, a fine way to suck up. Pegasso quickly sends Loco out, then follows him out for a headstand on the apron into a headscissors. Pegasso poses, gets kicked by Cancerbero. Diamante planchas in on him, but Cancerbero reveres a hiptoss and slams him. Diamante hiptoss him anyway on the next post, and dropkicks him out. Raziel takes his turn hiptossing Diamante. Diamante sort of boots Raziel not a dropkick. Dragon lee comes in with a flying headscissors on Raziel, rolls over his back on a backdrop, kicks him down, and lands the standing shooting star press for the quick three. Fall stops, so Raziel is captain. Rudos can't believe Raziel went down like that.

2: Rudos just take the fall from the start. Diamante takes a double backdrop. Raziel sets up Dragon lee on the top rope and goes for his mask, then pulls him down in the Tree of Woe and stomps him in hopes the mask would come off. Loco rips at Diamante’s mask for a bit. Rudos are aggressive, but not heading in any particular direction for a while. Double armbar/legpull on Pegasso sets up a Raziel dropkick, and that's enough for a pin. Diamante doesn't want to come back in, so Cancerbero goes out and tosses him back in. Camel clutch/dropkick for him.

3: Diamante gets a double hiptoss to the loud ramp. Dragon Lee avoids corner changes from the Cancerbero, but Loco Max kicks him out. Pegasso and Diamante get Loco and Cancerbero with flying armdrags and tope con giros to take them out, and back to Dragon Lee and Raziel. Dragon Lee 'rana gets only 2. Raziel tumbles big on a jumping enziguri, Dragon Lee tries a standing shooting star press again, but Raziel kicks out at two. Both up, Raziel kicks, Dragon Lee grabs him by the ankle and puts on an ankle lock, Raziel swings his arms at Dragon Lee, and pulls off the técnicos’ mask. Dragon Lee goes down, Raziel stomps, and eventually the refs breaks it up for a DQ.

Match 3: Ángel Azteca Jr., Blue Panther ©, Super Porky vs Averno ©, Ephesto, Mephisto
Arena Mexico, 01/03/2012

  2. rudos
  3. rudos

Winner: rudos (2-1)
Match Time: 18:03
Rating: good
Notes: Ref is Terror Chino. Angel Azteca is a fill in for Black Warrior

1: Pairs are Azteca/Ephesto, Panther/Averno, Porky/Mephisto

Azteca holds his own. Panther is all hyper to fight, Averno needs time to be cocky. They have their usual spirited battle, including Panther trapping Averno in a tapatía. Averno escapes, and goes for the STF, though he slips on the way there. Panther blocks the facelock with his arm, so Averno briefly bites it. Averno seems to settle for the armlock on purpose. Panther pulls his arm away, which pulls Averno in position for the facelock. It all worked out in the end. Panther breaks free to reach for the ropes, but Averno pulls his arm back. Averno pushes down on panther's head, Panther reaches again, and finally grabs the ropes. Back up, Averno trips up panther and tie sup the legs. Panther struggles to the ropes, but gets them a bit easier this time. Whip, quick reverse, Panther trips up Averno and puts on an ankle lock. Averno screams and pounds the mat in pain, but he's got to turn to get to the ropes. Ephesto kicks them towards Averno, but he's still a little way to go. Ephesto pusses with both free, and Averno gets it! Ephesto is great. Averno gets to his feet, grabbing his leg, but still challenging panther. They circle, Averno keeping a straight face but limping the whole way. Averno jumps to get a drop toe hold, and leg scissors Panther’s leg on the mat. Panther turns it around into a figure four, and Averno is suddenly frantically struggling to get free. He again crawls to the ropes, crawling towards Mephisto who's leaning his arm way thru the ropes for the tag, but the ref backs him up. Mephisto goes for pushing the bottom rope in instead, and Averno slides over to grab it. Panther takes all his time letting go, and Mephisto finally kicks him to make sure it’s broken up. Porky storms in, and Averno has to limp away to a neutral corner. Mephisto starts to leave when the crowd reacts for Porky. Mephisto and Porky end up staying in, and I bet I'll find this a lot less interesting. Porky can barely get up on his kip up into an armdrag. It's amazing he can get up and all. Porky follow with a stomp and a splash, and the other rudos kick him down and storm the other corner. Rudos set up Azteca for the triple faceslam, but Mephisto and Ephesto leave to celebrate, and Azteca sneaks in a casadora cradle for the surprise three.

Fall is going while they're still showing replays, because that's how this show rolls.

2: Averno slides out on Azteca, then wildly begs off from Azteca when he chases. Averno tells Azteca to take it back to the ring, then Azteca does – and just tags out. Mephisto and Porky resume instead. Usual Porky comedy spots. Panther accidentally sneaks up in front of Porky, and Porky threatens to cane kick him. Everyone lives. Azteca looks like a really smooth wrestler with Ephesto, armdrag Mephisto out rapidly, and gets applause from Averno. Averno's chop is blocked, Azteca grab the arm for the springboard twisting flipping armdrag. Dive fake too. Azteca looks like he belongs in this match, which is a little bit of a surprise. Panther and Ephesto in, Panther whips Ephesto and punches him in the gut, which Ephesto sells as a foul punch. Ref thinks it about but won't go for it. Panther puts on a half straight jacket, and Mephisto breaks it up. Panther gets Mephisto in a fireman’s roll, and Averno has to dropkick him to break it up. Again the rudos clean out the técnicos, Ephesto sentons Panther, and everyone piles on top for the pin. That was easy.

3: Rudos mess with Panther. Ephesto gnaws on Porky's forehead, which is pretty hard when his mask covers his mouth. Kick to the inside of the leg drops Porky, who sadly rolls out. Rudos rip off Angel Azteca's shirt. He gets no cheers. Rudos slap him and big boot him. Porky comes in the ring while the rudos are doing their triple pose, then leaves before they turn around, then comes back in again. Good work, Enrique. Fans chant for Porky because he can do anything (or nothing at all) and get chants at this point. Long testicular claw for him. Porky splashed Averno and Mephisto and to early drop down, and Ephesto runs into a quebradora con giro. Porky squashes two rudos, Azteca 'ranas Ephesto, técnicos cover the others, rudos all kick out. Mephisto kicks Porky over, Averno lifts Azteca on his shoulders and tosses him on Porky, rudos set up Panther on the apron and Averno dropkicked him off. Azteca charges Averno and gets him with a headscissors, but Azteca soon runs into a Mephisto loud kick. Triple powerbomb and Azteca is done. Porky flattens guys until Ephesto gets in a kick, then Averno and Mephisto barely double suplex him over. Ephesto adds an elbow drop, and everyone piles on top for the win.

Match 4: Dragón Rojo Jr. vs Ángel de Oro for the CMLL World Middleweight Championship
Arena Mexico, 01/03/2012

  1. Dragon Bomb (5:52)

  2. Angel de Oro Mecedora (1:35)
  3. Garra de Dragon (12:20)

Winner: Dragon Rojo, first defense
Match Time: 19:47
Rating: okay
Notes: No weights announced. Angel de Oro's second is the returning Angel de Plata, who seems healthy. Puma King is Dragon Rojo's second, and wears the towel like a scarf. Ref is Tiger Hispano.

1: Mat wresting to start, which is not a strong point for either. A lot of Dragon Rojo getting on top of Angel de Oro, and Angel de Oro escaping. Dragon Rojo only efforts slightly more than Negro Navarro in keeping his holds. Crowd is chanting more for Dragon Rojo, but a little for Oro and not a lot for either. Dragon Rojo tries a variety of back mounted holds, neither which last long or have much of an effect. Angel reverses to the Villano cradle for a two count. Dragon Rojo tries an Indian Deathlock, and Angel de Oro out cools him by bridging out of it. Angel de Oro just doesn't have much of an idea what to do on offense. Dragon Rojo has ideas, though not really good ones. It's a battle! Ankle lock that's more like a shin-lock for a while. I'm not exactly sure how Angel de Oro is being hurt here, but he's not acting like he's hurt so I guess he's it's all cool. Mat push off headscissors gets him free. They sped up with corner whip and the like, a sunset flip reversal but it leads nowhere, and a boost dropkick that sends Dragon Rojo out. Angel de Oro teases a dive, slides out, but Dragon Rojo is busy sliding in. Springboard plancha by Angel de Oro connects. Angel de Oro tries a 'rana, but Dragon Rojo blocks in and drops him with the Dragon Bomb. That's 3, and fall 1.

2: Angel de Oro gets a two count on a handspring plancha, then kips up into a dropkick to send Dragon Rojo out. Angel de Oro just clears the apron on a tope con giro. Replays show it was quite close. Stick to the moonsault! Here's someone recording the match on her iPad, and I guess security must like her if they haven't taken it away. Good picture on that. Both in, Angel de Oro has a bit of trouble with the casadora but takes it to the mecedora. That was no time. Lots of boos.

3: A bit of posing before we get started. No hurry, they've got plenty of time. Angle de Oro misses a corner charge, throws himself to the apron, and immediately springs back in with a dropkick. Chop in the corner. Corner whip, Angel de Oro miss the charge, Dragon Rojo inside cradle one two NO. Angel de Oro 'rana, Dragon Rojo rolls thru one two no. Dramatic near falls already. Angel de Oro casadora, but Dragon Rojo kick him away before he can do any more. Angel de Oro small package, but Dragon Rojo escapes before the one count. Angel de Oro hammers Dragon Rojo and holds him down, as the crowd seem to support Dragon Rojo. Snap mare, and Angel de Oro goes for the mask. Boos. Scoop, slam. Angel de Oro points to the corner, takes his time, and is shoved out. Dragon Rojo runs, Angel de Oro turns around the corner, Dragon Rojo hits the ropes, goes back the other way, off the corner, and off for a springboard plancha to the floor. Dragon Rojo recovers first, but Angel de Oro pulls him back. Dragon Rojo reverses and pulls Angel de Oro back, then tops up on the apron for an Asai. Angel de Oro pulls him off by the ankle to stop that, then goes to the middle rope himself – moonsault to the floor. Plata checks on his brother. Multiple replays. Angel de Oro makes it in first, but Dragon Rojo jumps on his back – headscissors cradle, one two long three but no. Tiger Hispano was not going to count three there no matter what. Surprised Dragon Rojo didn’t try the cavernaria. Dragon Rojo up first and hitting Angel de Oro in the midsection. Dragon Rojo sets up for an inverted Gori, but he decides (with some encouragement) to try a regular Gori instead. Dragon Rojo holds it on, Angel gets one arm loose, then rolls thru for the sunset flip one two NO. Dragon Rojo didn't start kicking out until the last second, and Tigre Hispano almost looked really dumb. Dragon Rojo clotheslines Angel de Oro twice, strong boot to the face, one two NO. Both waving for support. I know how much time is left, and this match does not need that much time. Kneeling surfboard, then step over double armbar by Dragon Rojo. Dragon Rojo tries turning the other way. That does not win it for him. Crowd chanting “Drago”, who's not even on this show! Angel de Oro headscissors says Dragon Rojo down and then out. Angel de Oro runs – handspring moonsault to the floor works well. Seconds wave their towels. Replays. Paragraph break!

Dragon Rojo in first, running boot misses and Angel de Oro kicks him away form the apron. Outside in moonsault meets knees, one two NO. Hispano and Angel de Plata argue about the count, Hispano telling the técnico to go back to his corner. Both guys rest on their knees in adjunct corners. Rojo walks over to Oro, and kicks him. Corner whip, Rojo charges in, Angel flips him to the apron, Angel de Oro slaps, Dragon Rojo slaps harder. Dragon Rojo steps back in thru the ropes, grabs Angel de Oro by his head, walks him a step forward, then back in the ropes. Angel de Oro blocks the whip, so Dragon Rojo punishes him with a kick. Dragon runs this by walking around the ring for a moment with a mean face. Dragon Rojo pushes Angel de Oro in the corner, turns him around and sets him on the top rope. Loud slap to the back. Again, Dragon Rojo goes on a walkabout. Dragon Rojo out to the apron. What is he doing here? Both maneuver so they've got their feet on the top rope – super hiptoss by Dragon Rojo, who seems as hurt as Angel de Oro on that one two NO. Dragon Rojo was not so much covering as leaning on top. Both waving for support. Crowd is mixed, but making noise. Angel de Oro set up on the top rope, Dragon Rojo climbs up to join him – Angel de Oro shoves Dragon Rojo off, plancha meets counter dropkick! Dragon Rojo pulls himself up, then reaches down to cover - Angel de Oro small package, one two no. Dragon Rojo sits up shaking his head, Angel de Oro crucifix cradle, one two NO. Crowd into this, not loud levels, but the people definitely care. Dragon Rojo shoulderblock, off the ropes, Angel de Oro roll into a leap into a casadora into the mecedora. Straight center of the ring, but Dragon Rojo breaks his right arm free. Angel de Oro reaches to pull it back, but Dragon Rojo keeps it away. Angel de Oro tries to pull Dragon Rojo backwards, but Dragon Rojo moves and pulls his another arm free too. Announcers lead dueling chants. Angel de Oro backs up to the apron, Dragon Rojo charges, flipped to the apron, slap to Angel de Oro, smacking him into the turnbuckle and jogging up top for the double stomp to the back. Dragon Rojo sets up – hammerlock set up into the Garra de Dragon – Angel de Oro gives.

Doctor checks on Angel de Oro's shoulders after Dragon Rojo's devastating hold. He gets his belt back. Angel de Oro gives Dragon Rojo for winning the battle, though he says he hasn't lost the war. Dragon Rojo picks up the mic to yell for the rudo, then shakes Angel de Oro's hand.
