Match 1: Astral, Fantasy, Shockercito vs Mercurio, Pequeño Nitro, Pequeño Warrior
Arena Mexico, 12/27/2011

  1. técnicos

  2. rudos
  3. técnicos

Winner: técnicos
Match Time: 15:28
Rating: good
Notes: Ref is Rodolfo.

1: Pairs are Fantasy/Mercurio, Astral/Warrior, Shockercito/Warrior. Mercurio takes a funny bump out of the ring to end their bit. Astral is apparently carrying over his t-shirt wearing ways from his rudo run. Their exchange ends oddly with both flipping to their feet for the standoff, and Warrior removing his skirt for no reason. Nitro has blue coloring in his hair. Shockercito quickly sheds Nitro with headscissors. Warrior trips him up with a dropkick, and Mercurio pulls the técnicos out for the big legdrop, but the other técnicos pull Warrior out before that can happen. Flying armdrags by the mask duo to set up the finishes. No idea what Astral was doing, but I'm not sure he knew either.

2: Fantasy looks good versus Nitro, then the rudos pull down the middle rope on Astral, and he stumbles to the apron. Beatdown from there, and it goes for a while. Astral is whipped to the corner, Mercurio runs in with a clothesline, rolls back, runs in with a back elbow, rolls back, and runs in with a dropkick. That was fun. Nitro finishes up Fantasy. Warrior powerbombs Shockercito in the corner, but it looks safer than usual. Nitro toss astral into a Mercurio superkick. Aim could use some work, but it's a good idea.

3: Shockercito swiftly sidesteps a corner charge, Warrior throws himself out with a dropkick, Shockercito gets Mercurio with an armdrag, Nitro misses a senton, Shockercito kicks him out and leads Mercurio into a Astral plancha. Astral does his dive fake with Mercurio still in the ring, then sends him out with a casadora armdrag. Astral pulls off the Running flip off the apron to the floor, attacking down Mercurio to headscissors him there. Astral back in but suplexed by Warrior. Shockercito breaks up the pin, cradles Warrior, and Nitro breaks it up. Nitro gets a hold, Fantasy slaps him in the back of the head. Evasion with Nitro, springboard armdrag rolls the rudos, and Fantasy follows with a bouncing faceslam. Mercurio breaks it up and yells at the crowd. Cradle, Fantasy kicks out on his own. Mercurio sees momentarily lost, then manages to get a casita on Fantasy when he's lying on his stomach. Astral breaks that up. Evasion, Astral nearly misses the spinning armdrag but pulls it together. Astral submission, and I guess we're out of people to break it up, because no one does.

Warrior in, ducking a clothesline and dropping Astral with an urange. Shockercito makes the save there. Shockercito holds Warrior in the ropes waiting for something. Warrior takes control, corner whip, reversed, Warrior flips Shockercito, Shocker climbs the ropes, slips as he jumps, and his 'rana is barely caught and then turned into a powerbomb. Better idea than finishing the move. Warrior lifts Shockercito on his shoulder, Shocker slips off, Warrior barely kicks Shockercito away to the corner, charges, and Shockercito moves. Shockercito running fast, ducking a clothesline, and getting Warrior up for the reinera. Warrior gives, and the técnicos win.

Match 2: Diamante, Pegasso, Rey Cometa vs Arkángel de la Muerte, Hijo del Signo, Nitro
Arena Mexico, 12/27/2011

  1. técnicos

  2. rudos
  3. tecnicos

Winner: técnicos (2-1)
Match Time: 14:51
Rating: good
Notes: Ref is Bestia Negra.

1: Pairs are Pegasso/Signo, Diamante/Nitro, Cometa/Arkangel. Signo is too strong for Pegaso's headscissors off the mat (apparently!) Sunset flip finishes that. Diamante flipping in the ring actually gets cheers. Friendly crowd. Diamante's white mask doesn’t match his black and yellow gear at all. He and Nitro don't get very far. Cometa immediately miss a dropkick and Arkangel shoves him in the corner for slaps. Cometa turns it around for his own slaps. Armdrags and quebradoras send Arkangel out. He ducks down to Comet can't get him, but Cometa still gets him with a handstand on the apron into a headscissors. Signo immediately topes Cometa, while Cometa dives off the apron to bowl over Arkangel. Signo knocks Nitro over for the pin. Boos now. Ref counts out the others.

2: Flipping armdrag by Pegasso quickly sends Signo out. Diamante gets in his quadruple bounce armdrag for Nitro after a long exchange. Rey Cometa backflips over Arkangel in their exchange, and pulls off a backspring headscissors into an armdrag. Arkangel sneaks in a chest alp on a flipping run, Rey Cometa does a dramatic backwards fall, pulling down the middle rope in the process and causing Arkangel to throw himself out all crazy like trying a clothesline. Cometa immediately hits the tornillo. Rudos win the fall, which would be random if it wasn't necessary to keep the match going. Crowd boos! Signo's move looks much more like a pinfall then a submission, but Pegasso does give. Nitro's hold is grounded more due to clumsiness than design.

3: Low blow dropkick, CHECK. Hasn't really been a Tuareg match until now. Low blow elbow drop. Low blow dropkick #2. Double suplex for Cometa. Nitro adds a low blow knee drop to his repertoire, though it's more because he doesn't want to bend down. Diamante flips Cometa to safety of the apron, which doesn't stop the rudos from whipping Pegasso in too. Diamante flips him to safety. Diamante ducks a double clothesline and gets Signo with a headscissors. Cometa slowly goes to the top rope and lands the dropkick on Arkangel. Pegasso decides not to even bother going up this late, and just walks thro the ropes to dropkick Nitro normally. That was odd. Diamante tope con giro smushes Signo. Técnicos are almost whipped into each other, hold up, and Nitro dropkicks Arkangel a bit late. Técnicos chop Nitro, Pegasso drops him in front of the corner, Cometa 450 splash, one two three. Pegasso finishes Arkangel, even though Cometa nearly breaks it up trying to help cover.

Match 3: Black Warrior ©, Titán, Triton vs Olímpico, Psicosis, Virus
Arena Mexico, 12/27/2011

  1. técnicos

  2. rudos
  3. rudos

Winner: rudos (2-1)
Match Time: 12:23
Rating: good
Notes: Ref is Tigre Hispano

1: Pairs are Titan/Virus, Triton/Psicosis, and Warrior/Olímpico. Titan and Virus have a slow roll up back and forth, then another bit where Virus just confuses Titan with roll ups until ardmdaging him away. They keep going, Virus tying up Titan again, then pulling out a modified Flashina cradle. Titan just keeps up. Psicosis tosses around Triton, Triton rallies back for quick pinfalls. They're out quick. Olímpico and Warrior have a spirited battle for leg locks. This leads to a dance off, as it must. Well, Warrior dances, Olímpico kicks him, then Olímpico dances. Not sporting of Olímpico. Warrior dramatically misses a corner whip and gets hiptossed for two. Olímpico makes the mistake of sunset flipping Warrior, Warrior rolls thru and dropkicks him. Psicosis kicks him, Triton scares Psicosis back with a slipping flip in, Psicosis accidentally kicks Virus out, Titan with a springboard armdrag on him, masked técnicos teas dive, jump to the apron, and land the stereo Asai moonsaults. Warrior warps it up for his team.

2: Titan back bends under a clothesline, then corner push of headscissors Psicosis. Titan flips Psicosis to the ramp, backs up, runs, up, the ropes, and off for a headscissors. Titan dives back in for fun. Tag to Triton, all front flipping into face Virus. Announcers are still having trouble with the names. Chop fight, Triton springboard armdrag, quebradora con giro, walk up the ropes, slow double bounce to set up a headscissors. Confidence isn't totally there, but nothing's gone wrong for him yet this match. Olímpico quickly kicks Warrior, but Warrior reverses a whip, armdrag Olímpico, knocks him down with a jumping back elbow, and knocks him over with a wheel kick. Warrior taunt. Clothesline blocked and turned into a heel trip cradle one tow three. That's the fall right there.

Olímpico pauses briefly to get his arm raise, then attack the other técnicos.

3: Rudos running over the técnicos. Virus rams Titan into the corner. Swinging gate bomb on Titan works, though Virus is just barely tell enough to do it. Psicosis drops Triton with an odd F5. Corner charges for him, and Olímpico and Psicosis hold Triton on the ropes like Virus wants it for the hanging dropkick. Triton doesn't swing in, but propels himself out. Warrior ducks a double clothesline and spears Olímpico (who takes it more like a shoulderblock, oh well.) Triton planchas the other two, form one side, then they get up, and Titan springboard dropkicks him fro the other side. Titan and Triton run, but Olímpico trips them both up. Warrior and Olímpico in, Warrior slides out on a corner whip, Olímpico chases him, Warrior comes back in, Olímpico hops on the apron and leaps up as Warrior runs and slides at him, but Warrior just pulls Olímpico down by the ankle. Virus charges Triton on the apron, but Triton smack shim back with a clothesline. Springboard sunset flip on Psicosis, but Psi rolls thru and dropkicks him. Titan tries to surprise him with a springboard splash, but Psicosis spots him and rolls. Tapatía! La Rosa on Triton, and they're done here.

Match 4: Ángel de Oro, Hijo del Fantasma, Super Porky © vs Averno, Dragón Rojo Jr. ©, Mephisto
Arena Mexico, 12/27/2011

  1. rudos

  2. técnicos
  3. tecnicos

Winner: técnicos (2-1)
Match Time: 13:07
Rating: OK
Notes: Fantasma takes a while to turn up. Super Porky appears to be growing out his hair. Avernos enter together. Averno still can't get an updated video. I guess I understand the reasons why. Angel de Oro gets the bright idea to face off with Dragon Rojo from the other end of the ramp, and Averno and Mephisto just kick him from behind. You can't pull that off with them.

1: Mephisto beats up Fantasma on the ramp so Dragon Rojo can have the ring alone to kick around Angel de Oro. Averno tries to get Super Porky to go out to the ramp too, but Super Porky just won't go. Averno takes him to a corner instead. Later, Averno and Mephisto hold Porky up on a spinebuster for quite a while, then grab their backs. Dragon Rojo takes Angle de Oro up the ramp to stomp him, which works better than moving Porky. They show Dragon Rojo holding up Angle de Oro for a suplex, but cut away before he actually drops him. That would seem to be the important part. Averno helpfully flapjacks Fantasma to set up his buddies' head kicks. That's what friends are for. Averno & Mephisto hold Angel de Oro for a single chop. Averno starts yelling at some from front fans in Matematico and Fishman masks. Dragon Rojo drops Angel de Oro with a big spinebuster, then punches to the face. Hanging double suplex on Super Porky finishes him and the fall.

Dragon Rojo knocks Angel de Oro around on the outside.

2: Dragon Rojo still on Angel de Oro. Big backdrop. Averno is forcing Porky in the front row and yelling at him from inches away of his face. Girls in the crowd react big to something we don't see – Dragon Rojo pulling Angel de Oro's mask off too much, I guess. Rudos in no hurry. Girls creaming about something again, as Dragon Rojo bites Angle de Oro's boot. Seems like the sound isn't in sync with the action – there's the noise of a big impact in the ring, but nothing like that going on. Yea, Fantasma takes the hiptoss to the ramp a few seconds later with no noise at all. Distracting. Rudos in no hurry here, clearly not wanting to bother trying stuff with Porky and not wanting to do more with Angel de Oro until it's the comeback. It becomes the comeback right then, Angel de Oro ducking a clothesline and Mephisto taking it, Dragon Rojo getting out of the way and Fantasma dropping Averno with the phantom DDT. Porky belly bumps Dragon Rojo out , and Angel de Oro follows with a tope. This is weird to watch with odd sound. Técnicos wrap it up to take the fall. Porky has trouble getting up, and falls down on Mephisto a couple more times. Poor Mephisto.

Angel de Oro knocks Dragon Rojo around.

3: A bit of tags and little action to start, with Dragon Rojo walking away from Angel de Oro again. Fantasma and Mephisto start instead. Sounds seems to be working right, or closer to right. Fantasma throws Mephisto a long way on the monkey flip, and Mephisto does not want to get up for the next other. But he does, and he goes far. Headscissors sends Mephisto out. Angel de Oro in, Dragon Rojo takes a walk thru the crowd. Super Porky comedy is Super Porky comedy. Corner sit, check. Corner sit failing the second time, check. Dragon Rojo finally gets stuck facing Angel de Oro, slide out at first chance, and Mephisto knocks Oro down from behind. Rudo tease a missed slap spot and actually don't hit each other. Mind games! Angel de Oro ducks a double clothesline on the next opportunity. Boost headscissors gets Mephisto, flipping armdrag spectacularly gets Averno. Dragon Rojo charges in, misses his charge, flips Angel de Oro the apron, Oro smacks him away, hesitates, then springboard headscissors Dragon Rojo out. Big tope con giro to take him down. Fantasma in and missing the dropkick. Averno rushes over and slaps Averno, then whips Fantasma. Double clothesline misses again (they may want to check on that), and Fantasma boost dropkicks Averno. Fantasma tilt-a-whirl spot is escaped (kinda) by Mephisto, who kicks him questionably low, then drops him with the Devil’s Wings. One two three. Some things don't change.

Angel de Oro barely gets up and over on the torito to beat Mephisto.

Averno kicks down Angel de Oro. Porky in. Averno fires up the crowd, misses a dropkick, and takes the belly bump out. Porky plancha – caught by poor Averno by himself. So sad. Dragon Rojo miss a clothesline on Angel de Oro, Angel de Oro rolling casadora shoved off, Dragon Rojo clothesline misses, Angel de Oro victory roll into a mecedora, Dragon Rojo is done.

Angel de Oro demands Dragon Rojo accept the title match. Dragon Rojo refuses to accept, Angel de Oro isn't in his category. Angel de Oro calls Dragon Rojo names and the fans boo. Dragon Rojo decides he's a big star, and he'll prove it by accepting the challenge.
